we have piles and piles of tyres and use them regularly for a number of things and in lots of different ways! the lads used them tonight in their interval sprints, rigged 2 tyres to a chest harness and sprinted dragging the tyres for resistance! we use them for footwork, for weights, for jumps, for throws, for catches (just co-ordination stuff) they are dead useful to have around to add some variety into everyday training, they dont cost anything you can pick them up for free, you just need to clean them when you have took them outside...we dont kick them though!!

A great training aid in my opinion and free to boot(pun intended).

Stack 3 on top of each other put a chain on them, hang them up and up and punch them, they are great if you have bad shoulders like me,a great reason for using them is because they bounce your guard back into position better than a bag does so ideal for beginners:)

Never used them for kicking but have used tyres in the past for strengthening calf muscles. Get a biggish tyre (around about lgv size). Lay it flat and bounce up and down on it on your toes for a few minutes. Feel the burn in your calves!
