I recently trialled a Muay Thai Studio Style Photoshoot at Sandy Holts Bolton Thai Boxing Gym, which went down a storm! and proved to be very popular. We had over 30 people take part in one very busy Saturday.
I think I have time to do 2 more of these before Christmas if anyone wants to book one.
There is no cost to book it, and there is commission paid back to the gym owner, so not only do you get some fantastic images you can use for your gym marketing and your students get some magazine worthy photos, you even get paid! (what a deal!)
How does it work?
1. We agree a date
2. I send a bunch of posters to the gym, and a booking sheet.
3. You fill it up with students, (who again don't have to pay anything to take part)
4. We spend the day getting some amazing magazine or movie poster worthy images
5. Everyone who takes part gets a contact sheet with around 15 - 20 images on it, and an order form where they can order Prints, Canvases, Box Farme Prints, Acrylic Blocks or the entire Gallery as High Resolution Files on a Disc
Who can take part?
1. Anyone who attends the gym
2. Its open to all ages, boys and girls, and adults, fighters and non fighters, experienced people and beginners. (at Sandy’s we had all of the above and even whole families)
What can I do with the pictures?
1. Pretty Much anything, Frame them, print them, Turn them into Wall Art, or an Ipad case, give them out as xmas presents, put them on Facebook, send them to your Granny, Tweet them, Use them on Fight Posters, Magazines or anything to promote your fight career.
If your the gym owner you can use them for marketing on your website, blogs etc. Gym Owners gets a free shoot as well as the commission!
What are the Requirements?
1. You must be the decision maker in the building to be used (ie it must be a full time gym, not a rented room such as a church hall)
2. Photoshoot can only be done on a Saturday or Sunday in order to get a full day. So you must be EITHER closed for most of the day, OR, have enough space ie in a separate room to house a temporary studio (I have a lot of kit and it takes up quite a bit of space) this can't be done in the same room as lessons taking place as we use a Three and Half Metre Backdrop and 4 studio strobes. And all the lights popping and pinging will be too distracting.
I have been photographing Muay Thai and MMA for years so i know how to make a good shot, and i regularly shoot for combat sports magazines such as MMA Uncaged where i am a regular contributor.
I am also fully insured and enhanced CRB checked.

Ideally large Gym’s within a 40 min drive from Manchester, so thats most towns or cities in the Northwest or Leeds and Bradford
