I'm rolling out fight record books for my promotion.

What 'minimum' info would promoters recommend to include?

Some of you may know of a recent death of an unlicensed boxer, and the promoter, along with several others is trying to roll out a fight r recording system so that fighters cannot lie about records, etc.

So, any help appreciated as to what as a minimum a licence/record book should contain. My thoughts are:
1) declared fight record (if exact dates unknown) prior to licence launch
2) promotion/promoter
3) style (box, kick-thai, mma)
4) date
5) pre medical
6) result
7) post medical
8) notes (ie ko suspension until...)

Many thanks.

What happens if they fight on another promotion? This has always been the problem, there are so many sanctioning bodies, all dishing out licenses, that some fighters have half a dozen licenses with half a dozen different fight records. What is needed is for ALL the sanctioning bodies, WKN,WKA,ISKA,IKF,WRSA,WKMA etc to agree to send full sets of results to one place, who record and publish them. The Info would include Weight, Rules, No rounds, and Result. Then a a thorough and true fight record could start to be built up of all fighters, problem is it would only work if all the orgs agreed to do it!

Hopefully, if plans go as they should, then a number of boxing & kickboxing promoters will issue their own licenses which will all contain the same minimum criteria - hopefully inline with the kickboxing sanctioning bodies, and info will be held on a central database/website, that will be checkable to the public.
The original idea was just brought up over the past few days (i know it's not a new idea, but looks like this is going to go ahead) just after a boxer died. Fingers crossed it does.

if federations could be arsed to keep their sites updated with rankings , they could also compel promoters holding shows under their sanction (which would in due course affect rankings) to submit show results /official scorecard scans/pdfs so that across the board people could keep a track independently and within the sanctioning body of who fought who when and the result.

boxrec can do this for virtually every boxer on the planet why is there not one for other martial arts?

The IKF do this after each promotion and all the info is on www.ikfkickboxing.com.
As the IKF Rep for Ireland, I also publish the info on my own website www.blackdragon.ie and my Facebook page so as many people as possible can see it.
I also send a full show report after each promotion including fighters records, weights, suspensions etc to as many promoters, coachs, clubs etc as I have on my database so they all have the relevant info in case a fighter gets stopped/ko'd at an IKF event in Ireland.
I have been doing this for YEARS and I've continuously asked all other org's in Ireland to recripocate but so far NOT ONE has complied.
I know its not a perfect system but at least I've covered my tracks so to speak.

I disagree that the ikf do this. I have 2 fighters that hold area title belts, one fighter has never ever been listed on the website and the other fighter is listed but at the wring weight cat. I have e mailed the ikf on a number of occasions and never once even had a reply!!

Not trying to make work for ourselves. But thaifighter.co.uk could help in verifying a fighters record. Maybe even the last result. A fighters record and position in the rankings are of course inexorably linked. Any how just a thought.
