R.I.P Liam Robinson

I really can't get my head around this but I hear that Liam has passed away.
It's really sad news and I'm filled with regrets
I have fond memories of banter between us and also his mischief with Team Scandal.
( I had those patches as well lol )

One thing for sure he was a Muay Thai genius and was a perfectionist.
Truly passionate about his art.
I was hoping to one day have a catch up.

People PLEASE talk to each other as I'll never have this chance to catch up with Liam ever again.

When I read this news on Facebook I was hoping it was a mistake

He was only young , all I know is he'd had some neck pain so took some pain killers& sleeping tablets .
He went out for a walk and he'd had a couple of drinks.
Don't want to speculate but I think the mix of medications might have caused a reaction as he was found unconscious in the park.
People rescued him and he was rushed to hospital but the hypothermia shut everything down.
I'm not clued up medically but it's similar to what killed Bruce Lee

All in all a sad loss

I wasn't going to write on here but nobody knows the exact cause of his death at this moment in time so if we can keep speculation off a public forum!

It's always a tragedy when someone so young passes away. My sincere condolonces to his family, friends and fighters. RIP

Tony Myers posted the following on his Facebook page to ry and clarify the circumstances around this tragedy


"Understandably lots of people who cared about Liam want to know what happened to him. His family are happy for me to share this with everyone.
We have patched together the following from what different people know. It appears Liam took some sleeping tablets and pain killers on his flight back to the UK from a seminar he did in the USA (he had an old neck injury and was very tired but couldn't sleep). He got back home after collecting his new car and had a couple of alcoholic drinks and possibly took some more tablets (we are not 100% sure). He went for a walk to clear his head and get some fresh air and asked Pardeep (his wife) to go to the gym to cancel training as he didn't feel up for it. Liam didn't return home and was found unconscious next morning suffering from hypothermia in a local park (the doctors suspect he may also have had a cardiac arrest too as he was only 18 degrees C when he arrived at hospital). He received resuscitation from the very public spirited people who found him while walking their dog . In intensive care he was gradually warmed up but his organs were too damaged by the cold to recover despite the doctor's best efforts and all the best care.

Been debating whether to post anything, as i didn't know Liam personally, the only contact i had with him was on here and the occasional facebook interaction.

I always got the impression of him as a bit of a joker from his posts on here, a cynical type of guy who wasn't afraid to ruffle a few feathers if he felt he needed to...

The last 3/4 years it's been interesting to hear more and more about him as a coach however; he was obviously extremely dedicated to the sport and just as an outsider it was pretty impressive to see all the praise he got as he assembled a talented stable of fighters.

Judging by the comments i've read since his passing it's clear why he excelled - many have mentioned his commitment to his lads, and emphasised his bond and personal relationship with his fighters.

The fact that he has clearly had a genuine impact on many peoples lives is inspiring; lots have said how much of a nice guy he was too, i regret never speaking to him in person when we were in the same circles.

Sincere condolences to everyone who knew him and counted him as a friend, the circumstances sound so tragic, which makes it's harder to comprehend in many ways i suppose.

I feel for anyone trying to come to terms with his passing, and wish them all the best.

ruffling feathers was his hobby! myself and liam got on well i stayed at his house a few times and he introduced me to a girl that iv been dating for 7 years now. as ricky said i think its best waiting to see what the docs say caused the problems, tony's account makes a lot of sense but the docs will let know what happened. as an insomniac/anxiety sufferer myself i know what its like not to sleep. pain meds sleepers and booze is know to be a fatal cocktail i was speaking to a drug councilor a couple of years ago and he said there were more deaths through that cocktail than heroin. either way liam RIP buddy.

RIP Liam

I spent a few weekends in Europe with Liam travelling to the SuperPro shows to watch Peter Crooke fight. He was a proper wind-up merchant and a right laugh. Such a tragedy for someone that young…R.I.P Liam.

It's always deeply saddening to hear of someone so young and dynamic passing away.

I only knew Liam on AX and as well as his knowledge as a fighter, coach and judge he seemed to possess a good sense of humour and a healthy dose of irreverence.

My condolences to his wife and family.

The funeral service for the celebration of Liam's life will take place at 1pm on Monday 27 October at Brixworth Church, followed by a private family burial and a reception at the Obelisk centre. All are welcome. Liam supported the charities Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion therefore we would like family flowers only and if desired donations to Kevin Matthews funeral directors, Balmoral Road Northampton NN2 6LA. There is no requirement to wear black. Attendees may wear what they feel. Superpetch clothing or the memorial T shirts will be acceptable.

Not a lot to say except a massive shock.

I have had the pleasue and honour to be trained by,train,corner and be cornered by Liam in my fighting years.
A brash young man on the outside but if you ever got him to drop that and get him alone for a while he was a deep down good person.

I have only just found out by reading this on here,I have been out of the loop since stopping training and not been on here for ages or been to any shows. I intend to get back into going.
