Paul Venis - K1 ...ripping it up
Anyone seen this Lad?
If not look him up.
Fighing out of Middlesbrough in UK
Currently undefeated and recorded very early KO against all his opponents Nobody has come anywhere near troubling him
Currently standing at 5th in UK Super Heavy weight rankings after a stoppage over Chris Cooper. And is current ICO European Champion
Hes got similar records in his unlicenced boxing and pro kickboxing backround.
Telling you this kid will be making waves in his next couple of fights. He pulls in a decent crowd aswell, Some of the videos from his unlicenced boxing fights are crazy.
Venis has dynamite in his hands. Lots of KO's and very good chances of making it to the top. Personally, i reckon 100kg Max as it then gets into monsters with the likes of Oborotov and Daniel Sam, etc, but definitely a danger to anyone. Gotta say, i was surprised at the Chris Cooper result. A great domestic fight would be Venis vs Terrill as Terrill can go up a weight and has already fought Oborotov in a close fight. Both North East lads too.
Paul Venis is the real deal!!!
Dangerous to anyone.
I know Paul is eying up Daniel Sam for the next fight. He plans to top the rankings domestically, take a world title and possibly step down a division or 2 he is comfortable with his weight and can drop to 95KG without issue Think he weighed in at 98kg for the Cooper fight.
He thinks of his Chin rather than his hands as his biggest asset.
Gloves83 - I would like Venis vs Terril at 95kg for Micky's WKL World Title. Have messages Alan Chapman previously. Daniel Sam is a monster with fast kicks, though i suspect wouldn't be able to stand up to Venis' head shots if they land.
I'll try and get up to watch it if it happens.
Assuming it will be in the North East if it comes off.
Makes sense to have it in the NE. Both good crowd pullers, both champions, but both got very different styles. I'm awaiting Micky's hand recovery, then there's a hit-list ha. That's an exciting bout for north east fans though.
Watched a couple of his fights. Like he says, his chin is solid and he has great explosive power. Though, without undermining him - Sam is a solid through and through Super-Heavy. Doesn't mean he isn't a threat but standing to trade with Sam wouldn't be the way to go. Maybe he'll surprise me.
Personally, i think Venis has a better chance standing & banging with Sam, than he would trying to outbox him. It's a very interesting matchup.
