Must catch up too you soon, I've been out of the fight scene for too long,[Marriage, Morgatages, Kids ] great to see K1 on state telly now, reminds me of all the "beatings" I took from all you great fighters at Balmoral. I can now tell anyone who will listen{or cares}, "I used to spar those guys at training", "they used to use me as a human punching bag" LOL!

Whoops I mean semis - Max Semi No 1 Aaron Boyes vs Choppa (Choppa looked very vulnerable in the quarters)
Guys these are Image Girls Pics - she has a whole raft of great pics from the fights these are just some of the rougher ones. So if you are interested in getting some of the shots give her a call.

THE BIG REMATCH SEMI FINAL SEFO VS SUTTIE
Sefo Arrives in the ring
Yeah - Thanks for that Glen - you got the money shots, (tells a good story)
Glen were you shooting from just the one vantage point to the side of the ring from the second floor - if you were you picked up some great shots from that distance ...

Sefo needed to do something fast in the to avoid falling further behind on points - Wise words from Older Brother Ray

2nd round
Sefo Starts to score with the upper cut and tags Suttie with some big shots
2nd round
Sefo Starts to score and tags Suttie with some big shots, Suttie is wobbled against the ropes - an 8 count is given but was it too early?
I was in the front row of the mezzinine level, bracing the camera against the handrail. My Fuji S5000 has a 10x optical zoom so I was able to get some close looking pics from 10 meters back. Only downside is you have to rely on the indoor lighting, and the smoke from the pyros gave alot of the pics a grey look to them.
2nd round
10 - 8 round Suttie needs to win the final round to draw.
3rd Round
Suttie needs to win the final round to draw. Even Round but Suttie is busier

Controversy at the decision again many picked it to go an extra round. While last year many thought Sefo had done enough to win. A rubber Rematch Anyone?

Te Rangi vs Peck
The Powerhouse on Fire!
Te Rangi vs Peck
The Powerhouse on Fire!
Te Rangi vs Peck
Damn that was one of the best shots I've seen Andrew Kicking Tee in the head with the sweat flying off ... Oh well, Peck a mile ahead on points in the third when Tee lands a huge right hand followed by three more upper cuts, power house is badly wobbled and sturggles to regain his feet - looks like a long count but the referee lets it continue.
Te Rangi vs Peck
Its a bit of a bloody muddle as Tee looks to capitalise - nothing connects cleanly and Peck tries to hold on. For some reason the referee calls a halt with a second eight count on Peck as bothb fighters stumble back and Tee has slipped to the ground.
Te Rangi vs Peck
Damn that picture is too big also - sorry guys I haven't got photoshop on this computer. But Anyway Tee wins controversially, Andrew still seemed wobbly and was that benficiary of a generous count.
But once the decision was made to allow him to continue should have been allowed to either fight his way back or be genuinely put on his back a second time. Possibly the third major error of the night.

Hey All
Tis a pleasure providing you all with these images - thanks for your appreciation, it's well recieved.
I love this sport with a passion ( like you don't know that already - ) quite unlike any other NZ sport photog I know and with events like this, hell there isn't anything I wouldn't rather photograph. With the continued support, feedback and input from you all be you promotors, fighters or supporters of the sport - the more you tell me about what you want to see in images, what you like what you don't, whatever - the better position I am in to provide you with better and better quality images of your events - I have had absolutely no professional direction with photography of this sport ( aside from a tad of quidance from the incredible Paul C - homage and my own learning by mistakes and experience ) but on the night I go by nothing by instinct and feel and being the creative type' I am I do tend to orientate my imagery more towards atmosphere rather than strait up clear cut action more suited to journalism - I'm at the moment realising how important it is to have a balance ( since when did anyone creative' know about balance I ask you ) between the both -
Glen - Well done boyo, can you email me the pic of myself - ta - i use a canon 10d digital, only had it about 4 or so months so still getting instinctively familiar' with it but it's beautiful, if a camera can be , and for all those who think it can't - how wrong you are -
Cheers for posting these for me Mike, mad day today, and I know how time consuming posting images is, believe you me -
Said it before but I'll say it again, anyone wanting hardcopies or digitial copies of these images or who want to see all the others for that purpose get in touch with me by email - happy as to help you with any queries you might have ok.
This post is turning too long so will leave you at that -
Cheers and thank you all - and what a WICKED WICKED night, had a blast and congrats to all the fighters and all involved in putting on such an incredible event -
