There was one time i was in a pub , and at the time i sued to train at Bradford Kickboxing Club with the one and only mumtaz shaffi.
There was this black guy who i was introduced to socially a girl i knew said he was into all that "hong kong fooey stuff"

He said " i teach kickboxing at the university" at the time tho, the 2 kickboxing trainers were Darren Holroyd and Clair Mckim
so i replied that it was them 2 who taught KB at the uni.

His reply to that was "ahh but you were there from 7 till 8, im there from 9 till 10 which is my Freestyle session" and then said "aah you see?" which turned out to be his favourite line.

Later on he told me its thaiboxing also known as "Moy-Lei-Thai" is his speciality and that he holds "grade 5 " in "moi-lei-Thai" (is that how you spell it?)

He told me stoires on how he trained in Korea (???) and how the temperature and the koreans training methods were really harsh :P

Funnily enuff it turns out that he wasnt technically or athletically that bad, but you could tell that his lineage was a little bit ssupect and he claimed his record was " 7 tournaments and 6 separate bouts"

interesting,... but to the unsuspecting public even those who had trained b4, he would have been able to blag it a bit.
He taught as an assitant a few times for me at a small club i started off, and he taught some interesting techniques such as Right body kick followed by left jumping kick ,... they were his "moi-lei thai " special moves.
