Looking at Danny Brown on the British rankings on another website he is ranked number 4 with Waterworth at 5. Is Brown fighting either Cadden, Khan or Johnson? they are the fighters above him in the top 3.

If not, will Brown get a chance at fighting one of these fighters in thge near future? Any of these would be a good fight that the British public would love to see.

Cheers Dean thanks for the pass im really lookin forward to it! I aint been to a good show for a while without fightin on it so it will be nice to just chillout and watch some quality fights!

Fantastic atmosphere last night. Although Nonkee took all the wins, that wasn't the whole story. Before the show the Dutch were assuring me of their credetials and how tough the curcuit was over in Holland etc.
Gav Sterritt had lost the early part of the fight and had grafted hard to turn things around by the third. It looked like Gav had things sorted though when power finished the fight with a ko.
Danny Brown showed a proffesional side of his game (something his corner asked of him) with a mature shot picking performance. He just gets better. I recon he can fight again tomorrow if he wants. He left a slightly battered and frustrated opponent who hardly managed to get anything of substance off (not through lack of trying).
Ricky Barnhill and Jay Woodman put on a brutal bludgeoning display that even had referee John Blackledge raising his eyebrows at me at the end of the first round. Ricky pounded a ko out of his opponent late in the second but Jay Woodman is going to give any fighter he faces all the trouble they can handle (book him if you dare).
Aiden Lewis was super fit for only his second ever fight against such a tough opponent in Mark Beasley. Beasley was pulled at the end of the second to save himself his own bravery and it is nice to see such good people as Paul Pearson in a fighters corner.
It was excellent to spot Tony Moore supporting the show with two fighters and great to chat with Kevin Harper at ringside.
The Dutch were full of compliments for the fighters and the show after and said this was the best hospitality they had ever recieved abroad. It is always good to chat with the forign fighters afterwards if you can and get their take on things. Good things are expected of the fighters here today dispite the results.
I hope to get some good pix of the show up asap (not my camera, waiting for the disc to be posted to me).

Interesting only Danny Brown & Aidan Ellis won the first round all other Nongkee fighters lost the 1st round.

Technique & real Muay Thai skills nearly always come out the winner, Barnill & Brown are monsters.

Well Done to all fighters from England, Holland & USA great show 14 superb fights.
Colin.H
Posted: 2004-03-08 04:11:28
I think Brown showed another element of his game yesterday. He fights above his own experience in every contest so this is very encouraging. I liked the way he had the ammo to discourage Benton every time Benton applied the pressure to try and break Brown. The Dutch corner were frantic for their guy to dominate the fight, but Brown just didn't let him.
And Barnhill, I offered him my seat as he got out of the ring just in case he wanted it:) It was an awsome display.

Just because a Dutch fighter is listed as B-class doesn't mean that he isn't a very very good fighter.

In Holland it is normally the rule that they go up to A-class only after 20 fights!!!! Belgium also I believe????

In England we have fighters that go up to a-class after barely getting into double figures if not less. Then when they go abroad they get smashed against a-class foreign opposition, why? because they go up to a-class too early. I think that this is why England have very few fighters at each weight that can compete internationally.
New British rankings will be online from tomorrow and if you look at each weight, apart from the really busy weight categories, only the top couple in each can fight and win abroad against strong opposition. Yet there are sevearl a-class fighters in each category.

I don't know Dipanegara gym in Holland very well - heard the name but thats it. But for example Hubertus Holzken who came over to fight Richard Jones on Master Sken's show was had a better record than Richard Jones.

Looking at those records 21 fights is A-class without a doubt.
Web sites are often out of date.

Let's not also forget that the Dutch standard of thaiboxing is generally higher than the English. Possibly the best in Europe now. It's certainly between Holland and France.

Holland:
Kass, Balrak, Elmont, De Randamie, El Idrissi, Tyarti, Hoost, Bojanski

France:
Skarbowski, Villaume, Duarte, Totof, Saada, LeBanner

To imply bad matchmaking is wrong full stop. It really annoyed me when someone did it to me on one of my previous shows.
