Someone we ALL Know and Master Sken met and trained with in the eighties on a Brief Visit to Los Angeles While filming there ! in Batman `1`
Is one of master Skens unsung heroes ! He went to fight Lucien carbin AFTER Ronnie Green was defeated by Lucien carbin ! Ronnie ( no disrespect he is our countries BEST undisputedly ) But only went 2 rounds with him ! "MARK HOYT" pictured ! Went `4` !
Did anyone see this fight in HOLLAND BTW ? Please ?
Ercan ?
Ben-R ?
Dirk ?
etc:
The pic: btw was taken in about 1983 ..Jeeez `20` years ago !
the fight was about 1984 ? poss: 83 ? Any help anyone ?
The pics : Up Above ( not thie first and last or Benny The Jet btw ) Are taken in the "SAMURAI" gym Holland where master was teaching out of ! And where we went to train a few times ! Whilst master Sken was stationed in Holland for about 2 Years ! Cant remember the Dutch trainer who owned the Gym ? An oldish Gentleman ! A good trainer but NOT as well known as many of the Famous Jan Plas type guys and Thom Harrinck etc: But he did Train Kenneth Plack ! he was a Good Fighter !
Ben enlighten me ? Can youi help me ? RE: Above Questions re: SAMURAI Thai-Boxing gym in Amsterdam ! ERCAN you here ? Cheers
Great pictures Sandy, keep em coming.
the Team ( us from manchester ) Training in Holland @ the Samurai Gym Amsterdam with master Sken and Woody
Sandy, no resonse from Dirk might mean he is on vacay. You know how that is in Holland in the summer time.
Indeed. Dirk is enjoying his vacation & due back somewhere around August 15th.
Patients Sandy, :) I'm sure Dirk can answer all your questions and add some pics from his archive aswell.
Very nice pictures BTW, and interesting topic. Too bad I can't be of much help for you here, but Dirk can & will. I'm sure.
Take care,
Grt,
EricR
EricR,
I am leaving Aug 28 to be back in Holland and Spain for a while. Do you know of any upcoming events?
Thanks to Dirk & do however have some old pictures.
Most are uploaded on:

Hi stefan,
Check: http://www.shoto.com/phpBB2/index.php or
http://www.fighttalk.nl/phpBB2/
To be honest, I just came back in Holland myself & don't know.
Think it's pretty slow in Holland in August, but things should get started here early September.
If you are around Amsterdam, please come and visit us at FFC. Details you'll find at www.ffcarbin.com.
Have a good trip.
Take care,
Grt,
Eric
Yeah now I think about it, you are right. I will be there into September so maybe I can catch a gala then. Thanks for the invitation, I might take you up on it. It would be an honor. Lucien always has been a big idol to me and FFC has my great respect!

These are classic pics. They give muay thai a UK history. Keep em comin' Sandy!
hi sandy,
sorry for replying late ...i saw the subject late...
the person from samurai gym?..he must be the person who fought during 1978's also in the rings...and if i am not mistaken this person has fought "fasial karakuş" also and been ko'd by faisal (turkish)(may be 1978- 1979?..)...the samurai gym which is mentioned should be the gym where master sken has given training during 1978's mt before his england story...and i think that due to his previous experiences it's why he brought the team to there for training prior to fights during 1983...
sorry, i cannot also remember the name of this trainer since it has passed a 20 years at least...and my friends also not remembering the name...
however , you can easily contact and ask andree manart (trainer of mejiro gym)for the name ...he is a nice person and i think that he will remember the name
cheers,
sandy,
i think that the trainer of samurai gym was also fighting during 1978's ...and he may be the same person who fought faisal karakuş...also a friend remembering something about this event ,but not the name...you'll appreciate that it has passed more than 20 years...
by the way, cool pics...bringing some nostalgie format...i liked very much...
cheers,
I might be mistaken ? But was it a `Peter` Something ???

I have you down as: back row, fourth from left as we look at the photo? Correct?? By the way is William Hilditch on this photo? I began Muay Thai when he was teaching in Manchester city centre, but to my regret now, I was more interested in smoking etc than training. Oh, if I could just turn back time now I am ancient :-(
Any more photos?
sandy
whatever happened to william hildich i remember watching him fight back in 86/87 and he was fantastic but ive never heard his name in years.

Hi Ed Great to have you on Board !
Yep thats me and William is on my right as you look at the Pic:
William Hilldith .
Well what can i say about this guy !
Firstly everyone seams to think as i was master skens FIRST main student ?
NOPE
William had a good 6 months on me ! And was only a young lad ! He stopped school early to train with master Sken 7 days a week twice a day ! He was awesome by the time i started ! As he matured he was even moreso !
He was probably the best and Hardest thai-Boxer of Master Skens Team ! He is still about somewhere but William keeps himself Totally to himself !
He lost interests in Fighting after Winning with style his British Title and defending v Master Toddys Peter Feeley ( hes the Trainer of Chrissy mac BTW in Manchester still )
He always said in his words.......
Its a Mugs game ! training harder than a Pro: Boxer, and more self-disciplined ! And to go in the ringwith all the
ad / hard training to win..........a EGG CUP" ! ( lol ) was his words ! He thought we should all have been paid the same as Boxers ! he aint half wrong there Btw ! eh !!!!!!!!!!!!
still curious re: The guy who ran the DUTCH SAMURAI GYM ( in the above pics: ) In Amsterdam
Almost 30 years of Muay Thai Sandy.

hi dirk,
i am just back from holiday ...
kindly ask:
"did this gentlemen "peter stolp" fight with faisal karakus ?...
as a far as i remember he has fought "karakus"...
(sorry ,it has passed over 20 years...)
thanks,
did he >? wow i didnt know he fought?
he was about late 30's when we was training with Master Sken in HIS gym
cheers btw.
sandy,
i think that faisal karakuş is before you...or the same time may be?!..he was a great fighter at his time...chakuriki guy...i remember that he ko'd 4 fc guys in berlin in fc tournament in series after one by one (may be 1978's) ...he has beaten all the people in europe and if not misremembering he was also the only fighter of the famous chakuriki team in thailand who could only withstand two rounds against thai fighters ...the others all ko'd in the first rounds...(1976's?..)
and i think that peter stolp has fought with him (of course more than 20 years passed and as you'll appreciate it is not so easy to remember all things ..may be i am mistaking , but i think that this gentlemen has fought with faisal...
cheers,
And yes ive heard about Mr Karakus ! Great fighter !
but i was refferring to Mr P. Stolp !
thanks anyway
hi ercan,well i don't know!!
