Julian was a good fighter. Sometimes a bit lazy though. He could sink to the level of a lesser fighter and rise to a better one. Some of the matches that never came off for him were probably always going to be an exciting prospect. His fight early on with Tim Izli was a good match up for London at the time. Lincoln Boney - always seemed to do the right thing for people and as Colin says he looked after his own very well. By that I don't mean that fighters were avoided particularly, but he rarely matched them before it was time. The 80's early 90's crew were all respected on the Southern circuit and it was interesting to see the improvement in a fighter when he/she joined their camp from somewhere else. Darryl Wilkinson springs to mind.
I felt the same way about Bill Judds camp as well. Also Vince Jauncey and Cobra Gym. In those days I always tried to learn as much as possible from those guys, even if it was being knocked out in a round or thouroughly beaten over three by one of their prospects.
