A points win for Matt o malley giving Saab an eight count, again an acction packed fight

7 Ibre Ibraham v Leon George 67 kg
(Swanley Thai, Kent) 3 x 2 mins (Nemesis Gym, Erith)

Leon George takes points win over the game Ibraham who sustained eight count in first round but came back incredibly strong for the rest of the fight.
ISKA British Title (full Thai rules)
8 Aaron Holmes v Mark Bustamante 67 kg
(Keddle’s Gym, Orpington) 5 x 3 mins (Minataurs Gym, Herts)

2nd round K.O for Holmes the now 4 times British champion an exciting fight that started an incredible pace. Bustamante suffered from the effects of Holmes severe punch power on his 12th K.O vicory in 22 fights. The ref stopped the fight after a second knockdown that Bustamante was unable to recover from.

9 Dave Pacquette v Jay Sanford 70 kg
(K.O Gym, London) 3 x 2 mins (Kings Gym, New Eltham)

Pacquette takes points victory in his third fight for K.O against the game challenger and future hope from Mayo's.

Prestige fight full Thai rules
10 Robert ‘Keddle’ Storey v Imran Khan 63.5 kg
(Keddle’s Gym, Orpington) 5 x 3 mins (Wicker Camp, Sheffield)
Another exciting fight with the unusual style of Khans taking a points victory against the continous onslaught from Storey.

11 Daniel v Hayden Scott 82 kg
(K.O Gym, London) 3 x 2 mins (East Area Gym, Bedford)

K.o win for the KO fighter against Hayden Scott will confirm round later when in see video as I missed this fight
Prestige Fight
12 Richard Fenwick v Anwar 72.5 kg
(Woking Thai) 5 x 2 mins (Nomads, Herts) max

A one sided victory for the Woking fighter giving Anwar an eight count in round one and taking control of the whole fight. A bad night for Anwar who has performed much better against Richard Jones and Jamie Saunders earlier in the year

ISKA English Title
13 Paul Marat v Narinder Gill 76.5 kg
(K.O Gym, London) 5 x 2 mins (East Area Gym, Bedford)

Points win for ko fighter in this close fought rematch. Didnt see all the fight so look for the write up coming soon.

Main Event Prestige Fight (full Thai rules)
14 Kieran Keddle v Nordin Youri 67 kg
(Keddle’s Gym, Orpington) 5 x 3 mins (Sitan Gym, Holland)
A slow start feeling each other out. Then the pace started to pick up end of round one. Same for round two. It started to become obviuos that Nordin whas not in the same league as he was beaten to every move. Round three and four he was being caught with the elbows in the clinch and going into the clinch. By round five Nordin had considerable swelling on his left eye and after being caught again he was forced to retire looking to be in considerable pain. Keddle now goes on the fight Chanburi at the end of September in Rotterdam.

15 Paul Mcabe v Michael Wakeling 69kg
(K.O Gym, London) 3 x 2 min (Scorpions Gym, Epsom)

Mccabe started fast taking the fight to wakeling and walked straight into a high kick knocking him out. A good first round win for this top British prospect. Watch him in action as he is now going to be challenging for titles

Prestige fight full Thai rules
16 Paulo Da Silva v Chan Chi-Kin 52.5 kg
(Lumpini, Crawley) 5 x 3 mins (France/Macau) max

I missed this fight and walked in to see the French man knocked out in round one
Apparently he came in with no guard trying to push the fight pace and got caught. He was however a late replacement day before as Paulo was supposed to fight Johnathon Muyall who didnt make the weight. Next time!!! this is Da silva 4th straight win. The last 3 being k.o wins.

Prestige fight full Thai rules
17 Sak Nayagam v Eumer Tekin 71 kg
(K.O Gym, London) 5 x 3 mins (Sitan Gym, Holland)
Again I missed most of this fight only seeing bits and pieces but I understand that the fight was stopped because of the cuts that Sak had sustained. He looked set to take the fight early on and then the fight was stopped because of the severity of the cuts. I will post more details when i see the video

Prestige fight full Thai rules
18 Michael Showers v Chris Stenson 67 kg
(Nai Khanom Tom, Croydon) 5 x 3 mins (Maryport, Dragons)

A fast and furious pace set by the Man from maryport giving showers an eight count in round one. The onslaught continued in round two by which time showers has sustained two cuts to th head. Round three and showers had gathered his composure and started to hit and move catching stenson who was still dangerous, it appeared also that Stenson had injured his leg/foot. In round four showers opened with a lovely combination finishing with an elbow that opened a two inch gash on Stensons cheek bone. The fight was stopped instantly
Prestige Fight
19 Leon Chavalier v Liam Simpson 70 kg
(K.O Gym, London) 5 x 2 mins (Nomads, Herts)
A close hard fought fight ending in a points win for the k.o fighter

W.M.T.O Commonwealth Title (full Thai rules)
20 Eddie Mclean v Andre Mcintyre 86 kg
(Asterix Thai, Eastbourne) 5 x 3 mins (3D fighting Arts, Reading)

A fast start again, with Mclean sustaining a cut from some well placed elbows. Mcintyre looked comfortable moving about and taking round one. In round two the action started pretty much the same until Mclean landed the elbow from hell knocking Mcintyre cold out. The ref didnt bother counting as there was no way he could get up and continue.

Second Main event W.P.K.L European Title
21 Fiona Hayes v Germaine Du Randamie 63.5 kg
((Minataurs Gym, Herts) 5 x 2 mins (Sitan Gym, Holland)

A fast start from the dutch girl had Hayes in trouble. Germaine had very strong hands and low kicks. Hayes tied up germaine in the clinch and got through round one. Round two Hayes forced the action and seemed a lot more comfortable. This didnt last long as Germaine steamed forward as Hayes had turned to the side as a result of a missed manouvre and caught her with a big right hook putting Hayes to the canvas from where she did not return.

Just a note to say a few things about the show.

I'd like to thank Tommy collins for being one of the best people to deal with in Thai Boxing. He was in between trying to get to hospital and finding his accomodation having travelled for a few hours that morning. He never complains when we had him waiting. If everyone was like him Id enjoy promoting a lot more.
Thanks Tommy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also Eddie Mclean was a star coming out of retirement at 40 with short notice to fight the highly respected and more experienced Mcintyre. A good win for him. This man is a gentlemen to deal with. If any of you have anyone to match up Melanie Smith from his Gym then get in contact with him asap. she is 60kg and the only girl in uk to ever beat Karen Harding. That is a feat I can tell you.

The WPKL are also true professionals. They have a proper ranking system worldwide, judges were provided, detailed invoices, camera crew, scoring cards!!! the lot. They never let us down with a single fighter in the last two shows and have got world class fighters at short notice. Mohammed that runs WPKL is one of the best. They are also good value for money.

Paul Hennessy and Steve Logan also came up trumps sorting out all the rest of the sanctioning and getting the belts to me at a days notice!! Thanks guys.

A special thanks Must go to Tekki from the Nemesis Gym, Paul Taylor from Minataurs and Bill Judd from K.O for doing the wonderful job of selling the amount of tickets they did each of them doing over 150!!. You guys really came through for us on a saturday afternoon on the bank hoilday, with the notting hill carnival, second week of Football and the cricket on. You guys saved the
day and I we owe you!!

I cant say enough for all the other gyms, trainers, staff and supporters for making the show a sucess. A special thanks must go to all my gym members that worked on the show to run it smoothly. Ian ovenden was awesome at organising the corners as ever. 21 fights with 15 five rounders is some feat in 7 hours! thankyou.

Apart from it bring a long day and very hot the show went pretty well.

I'd particularly like to thank the team that helped myself and Alan out on the night. For those of you that haven't heard already York Hall along with Headline Security said it was one of the best ever organised events they have seen in the last 10 years. So thanks to Karen, Ian, JD, Furby, Mick, Jim, Ben, Seb, Damo and any others I might have missed for all their help. All the fighters and gyms that took part on the show, plus the Scousers for driving some of the guests about.

I'd also like to thank the commentary team of Kevin Harper and Kara Tobin who had a hard long days work and also guest commentators Mary Hart and Bill Judd. The show will be going out in a few months time on foreign television channels and the video will also be available in September.

What was great to hear from a couple of Dutch promoters that attended the show was that they felt the standard in England was much higher than when they visited for some shows 10 years ago. They felt the English standard had improved greatly since they were last here.

The WPKL were fantastic as always. Carl Sams has kindly nicked the honour of doing the first WPKL world title in Britain from Alan and myself, which will be the world title between Janine Davis and Louise O'Donnell on 31st August in Bournemouth. Pele Nathan will also hold a world title bout on his show on November 2nd. Anyone interested in WPKL sanctioning in the UK can email me on dan@muaythaionline.net

Will try and add some more comments about the fights later!!!

Have to agree with Liam on that, it all seemed to run like clockwork.

The Ireland v Mitchell fight was a fantastic fight. Phil Ireland never seems to tire and gets better everytime I see him.
