MAGB IKF Fight Night
July 11th
Land Rover, Solihull
Not a great fan of re – matches ordinarily, but the 2 top fights of the night are 2 very exciting and worthy 2nd time around the ring matches.
Steven Cook gave Diesel a real run in December last year with just 1 point between them on the scorecard.
Diesel has since gone on the win the IKF English Title, which Cook has challenged him to defend.
With no dispute, Cook had Diesel beat in the first halve of their last encounter – he obviously wants to take the decision this time, & the belt! Having shared 6 rounds already, the 8 rounder will up the anti – they are both training hard for this one and it really will be a war!
Craig Carter & Jake Richards shared a similar scenario in December too – they fought for the ISKA British, the belt going to Richards. With lots of preparation time, Carter is convinced it will be a different result for the IKF belt – would not like to be a judge of this one!
I would really like to see how Reece Mcallister fairs against Craig Carter – will someone please put this fight on up their in the North East, or I am going to do it myself!!
IKF Title Bouts:
IKF Pro English Defence 8 rounds

Usual strong amateur undercard – still have a couple of weights to confirm, so will update over the next week. Please contact me on 07961 4000 93 or dawn@magb.com for tickets or if you have any weights available.
Nice card especially the top two and hats off to both Rob and Jake for not evading the challenges. Best of luck with it Dawn, hopefully we'll be over to give our support.
Thanks Dave
Defending titles is high on the adgenda for pushing credibility forward. Steven Cook & Craig Carter had asked for the fights and in honesty, didn't think either of the other camps would agree as they had beaten them before and they were not easy opponants, so it is quite legitimate to take the win & decline a re match, - and as those who know Neil & H I have absolutly no influence over who they agree to fight, so credit to BMAC & USKA.
As a rule I dislike the whole re match thing - but I am more than happy for these, as I would be for Jake to fight Reece Mcallister again - I am hoping we can get Reece in the mix with Craig & Sarwar with a view to a re match with Jake again. Any of these fighters would be a worthy British contender.
Micheal Johnson & Suky Shoria will be a nice one, really looking forward to that one, although think we could put Micheal in the ring on his own with a microphone & be just as entertained! I have officially been courted with his northern charm!!
good show dawn, ill make it up for this one.good luck to rob and suky
hey nathan
actually, was going to call you as i have pencilled in a trip to cornwall, got 2 customers to see in devon while i am at it & think i can tie it in with your show date - and can't resist a show with julie & shaun fighting, so you need to save me a seat!
Couldn't agree more with regard to rematches Dawn but when you get fighters of that quality with a previous history of close bouts they simply have to happen.
That said they are the types of rematch most coaches would want to avoid at all costs so all credit to Neil and H for accepting them and to you for bringing them together. This just shows the calibre of both camps and their respective commitment to driving the sport forward.
Have I still got a job Dawn?LMAO
Ill have 2 tickets please!:)
Fair play to H and Neil for taking dangerous challenges. I personally cant see the results being different but you never know!
Fair play also to the guys fighting 3 weeks after Unleashed. Thats dedication and dedication is what you need. Thats what Roy Castle told me anyway.lol
Regards
Dean
I'll have you know we had some serious need for you last show, so yes, you still have a job dean!
Are the tickets for you & your son?
Yes mate they are.
Sorry I missed it. Does that give me a verbal warning then? lmao
Regards
Dean

I am never going to be abe to call him anything else now, that name soooo suits him!
Looking for some predictions to help raise money for the Marie Curie Charity.
I have £5 to put in the pot for charity for every bet placed predicting 5 fights results.
Can be any 5 fights, and if you are correct then you will have helped a very deserving cause.
There is also a pair of 10 oz leather Addidas gloves to someone who can get the exact results of all 5 but you have to including KO/TKO/round/points.
If there are several people who have achieved this, then the winner of the gloves will be selected by a draw out of a hat!

good luck dawn and h
also good luck to mr diesel from all at touchgloves
Surely Qas cant be fighting Frans joseph ulsmer can he? As in the 16 year old brother of philipp? I have fought this boy twice!!
Think he's grown a bit sam - had both verbal & written confirmation on his d.o.b. & his weight.
He has already fought Pro in Europe & this match was set up by the Germans - but I don't mess about with fighter info - even though they already wanted Qas, I spoke to the coach personaly over several phone calls to ensure all information is correct & disclosed from both sides.
He comes from a very good camp & at the point when I know all opponant information has been laid down, I am more than happy to accept the decision of the coach, especially when it is a coach of good pedigree.
...and don't give me any more head aches! Its two days before the show so I already have an ulcer!!!
Really excited about the Micheal Johnson vs Sukhy Shoria fight, think this one will be excellant, and absolutly can't wait for Craig Carter vs Jake Richards!
I haven't had time to send out the all the normal invitations to instructors - if you want to come & havent had my invite, please just either email or text me & i'll sort it out.
Dawn
so dawn has an ulcer and an ulsamer--very confusing.
Hope the show goes well , good luck to the Spartan lads .
Steve
Yeah good luck Jhono, good to see you fighting again mate! You and Suhky two top quality fighters!
Just been through the fight card again to look at late revisions and WOW what a programme Dawn!
Diesel, Qas, Sukhy, Jake/Craig rematch and Adams pro debut all on one show. Last minute stand in for Qas looks awesome too, Ulsmer has a tremendous reputation in Germany and tons of experience.
Looks like I'll be upsetting the wife and sneaking over with Lee. Either way good luck with the show Dawn.
Signed, green with envy.
Hi Dawn - what weight is the Craig Harrison V Gareth Richards fight been set at?

So jakes fight was a draw then?? or what happened?
Just got back home. What a show. Have to say that the Craig carter v jake Richards was possibly the best fight I've ever seen. Loved it. 5 rounds off great action and two contrasting styles.
Jake has been involved in 2 of the best fights I've seen now and this was just so good.
I thought a draw was fair and was how I judged it, but I was a long way from ringside.
If there is a better fighter than Rob Stevens in the UK then I have yet to see him (maybe Nick Gill?). Would pay to watch Rob v Qasim and I have not payed to watch a fight in 10 years. Has to happen.
Did not see all of Sucky v Robbie Johnson but the last few round were close again. another high quality fight.
Oh ps.
Have to say thet what a couple of class fighters Craig Carter and Jake Richards are. Craig moves so well and has brilliant defensive skil. Jake stuck with him all the way and showed true class. How old? And just amateurs. Roll on!

Great show and some great fights Rob Diesel can watch him fight all day love his style.

Wicked Show!!!! Good quality fights, well done to every who competed...
Thanks to Dawn & H for a good night!
Thank you to everyone involved last night.
Referee, Mike Belgrave, Warren fryer, Winston Gordon & Pete Richards who judged, Otis Belgrave & Dean Perks who kick counted, Nick Aish, timekeeper & mini Dean Perks who did a fine job of being on charge of the trophies!
Cannot go on without thanking the spectators, who absolutely raised the roof for most of the night!
Ok, well, where do we start with the fighters!
Craig Carter vs Jake Richards is possibly the best fight I have ever seen! Craigs movement was phenomenal – can’t remember seeing anyone move so superbly – he is officially the matrix! Not only was he moving, but he was connecting with clean strong shots throughout, Jake imposed pressure & was absolute class from start to finish. Both lads where strong, quick, technical, fit, tough – fantastic fight!
Out of the 3 judges, one went to jake, one went to craig & one went draw – feedback from respected instructors/judges in the crowd was split down the middle, which is unusual, and indicates that the decision was what is was.
Qasim’s fight was short & sweet, with a ko in the second round. The German camp were more than happy, leaving on a good note putting it out that they would put Fufu with that standard of opponent again happily.
Rob was brilliant, Steven Cook is very tough, he took some heavy shots and stayed in the fight throughout – really good fight (from what I saw!).
Adam Stretton had a tough fight for his title – Hamza would have given anyone a hard hard fight! Well done Adam, a deserved win.
Darren Chan & Dean Petty displayed a very good pro standard fight loved Darrens style, and Dean is very very tough!
Particular thanks to Sukhy & Micheal – is was nice to have Sukhy tested (sorry sukhy, I don’t mean that in a bad way, but from a spectators view its exciting!). Close fight & great entertainment.
Actually, have to just say that for the first time in a while, the pro fights were very obviously at my expectation of what level a pro fighter should be performing at. It was really nice for spectators who did not know who the fighters were to be entertained, and for it to be obvious that there is a distinction from the amateurs.
Spartans, its the first time I have had you down, great camp of fighters, I can now see where you get your reputation from!
Next show October 4th – already started matching, so please get in touch sooner rather than later if you have weights.
Dawn x
Well done looks a great show dawn wot you got planned next ?
Have you got any action shots of Hamza "Jet li" majeid Vs Adam Stretton?
sounds like a wicked show, must get up to one soon. Any news on plans for Rob Stevens and Qas, they seem to beat everyone put in front of them! Is Rob gonna go for the British? Jhono and Suhky two of the best around too, unlucky jhono mate. With The Marlon, Whittfield and your next show at the end of the year, its looking like a great end to 2009 for FC, well done to all of you!
Has qas got any more fights before me and him fight on November 7?

All the photos from last nights great show will be on line tonight by 10pm

hey jag

hey jag
your right mate diesel was one of the STARS OF THE SHOW

WE EVEN HAD FLASHERS
thanks again for having us dawn, were well looked after, and any one who hasnt worked with her for shows i cannot recomend or stress what a pleasure she was to deal with any queries sorted staright away and completly honest at every thing,
Im biased but craig carter is without one of rthe finest talents i have ever encountered, he is the complete kickboxer and as he grows into his body and power will definitlt be a more than formidable opponenet for any one, his only downside is his superb movement, some times it can look like he is taking shots that simpllky arnt hitting its hard to explain on keyboard but his head and body movement inside is sometimes boardering on amazing, and in past fights it has cost him,i personally thort he had done enough to get the win, but would like to watch on dvd before comenting further,
Jake richards is also a star his pressure and power are scary for one so young and still learning the game, and is a perfect gentleman, and conducts himself ina manner he and his camp should be proud of credit to neil and all involved
Thanks to suky for a good close fight i thort, throughly enjoyed it, the eight rounds flew by! suky also has a head of concrete i may add, i landed a right hand and wanted to stop the fight and shake it whilst muttering and cursing! ha! Thanks to trev spencer and his team for gettin him in top shape for the fight, cheers to nick gill for been ringside and reminding me what happens to ya face if you dont block shots haha(soz mate cudnt resist nice to catch up),
Was great putting names to faces, wa spleasure to meet Qas first hand, awesome fighter, mark gibbs throughly nice bloke, and owe colin payne athank you for a lend of his superb scissors!
Thanks to every one who travelled with us, went thru the mill wityh us in the gym, and tahnks agian to paul grieves who once again gave up his weekend to travel round country with me, and be my nbest mate and corner man!"
any one ive missed out ta very much aswell!
You didn't say that when I put the ice on your head in the dressing rooms. lol.
Great to meet you guys. Very professional and great guys/fighters. The Craig Carter fight will live with me for a while due to the professionalism of both fighters.
Jake Richards has now been involved in 2 of the best fights I've seen, the other being with Reece Macalister. Great night all round.
sounds like a great night. well done Dawn and H .
Have to het us up again for the next one guys. Ain't been to Brum for a while.
Jus a general question with craig and jake drawing will this push craig further up the ranking?
There fight is what kickboxing at all levels is about, and is a brilliant advert for amateur full contact kickboxing,
it is worth the fee of the dvd itself!
like mark says was amazing to watch!
And mark the obscenties i muttered and threw in ure direction with the ice incident is just the northern expression of friendship haha
Just got chance to post.
What a show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So many good fights on the night it was untrue.
Jake v Craig was as Mark says probably the best fight ive ever seen. Craig moves so quick he almost lures you in. Jake however was on his case till the end. My verdict Jake win but have got to get the dvd to see it again. Someone must put it on you tube.
Suki v Robbie was my first sight of both fighters. Both you could tell are profesional experienced guys who did show what FC is all about.
Qas did what Qas does. Nuff said. Looking forward to the fight with Zander.
Darren Chan! Am fast becoming a big fan. Made his fight look like an exhibition towards the end.
Rob Stevens v Steven Cook was great for the spectator. Steven is obviously a top fighter but Rob did show he can do what he wants in there and is a rare talent who demands respect. He is for me the ultimate crowd pleasure.
It makes you almost forget Adam Stretton won a title as well. Well done mate!!!!!!
If Ive missed anyone I just cant remember every fight.
Thanks Dawn it was a pleasure to be involved in such a great show. You deserve the plaudits you get.
Well done to all.
Regards
Dean
I was to far away to score it but it looked 2 rounds each and 1 drew. whoever scored it every round to one fighter was a joke.
sorry highlander - i completly missed your post! next magb show october 4th.
if you have any weights, you are more than welcome, or if your around as a spectator, just let me know.
dawn
Dawn ive been trying to get in touch with you over the last week have u recieved any of my messages?

hi micheal - no i havent, but i have been away so my messages have been at the mercy of h, who is 'technically challanged' when it comes to the computer!
i am back now, so email me again & hopefully will get it, or text or call.
dawn x
cheers dawn ive mailed you
Dawn did you say u managed to pop a dvd in the post?
This is a short post with regards to the fight between Suky Shria v Michael Johnson.
Due to an administration error a point was deducted from Michael on the night on the kickcount rule so on the night this was announced as a win for Suky by scores of 77-76, 78-77 and 76-76.
This was incorrect and so the scores have been ammended to 77-77, 78-78 and 76-77 resulting in a decision of majority draw and this is how the result will be recorded.
All parties involved have been notified and we apologise for any confusion caused.
