Northern Fight League Stand Up, Saturday 20th Feb 2010

This will be the first Muay Thai show we have done as Northern Fight League as we normaly do MMA/K1 shows, however, Muay Thai is What i love most so its time to try an all Thai card.

The Show will be all c class muay thai fights over 5 x 1.5min rounds, the show is sanctioned by the UKMF and Tony Myers will be coming to ref with his team of judges.

I have around 10 c class fighters to match already at various weights mostly first timers male and female, we are also doing junior fights and have a few put forward already, if anyone is interested in coming up please get in touch, 07739007091 or craig@thefaktory.co.uk

The shows normally run well and we will pay expenses and small purse for all fighters.

To top the bill im looking for an A class fighter at 61-62kg, The guy i have to match is Jimmy Burn, he helps coach with me at 'The Faktory' he has only had 3 fights but has trained for around 10years so is ready to step up to test A class. Im not looking for a seasoned A class guy but someone ready to move from b class to a class maybe.

Any help is appreciated, on a side note thanks to all the thai boxing gyms that helped out with fighters yesterday on our MMA/K1 show, thanks for the support.

A Big thankyou to all the clubs that have put fighters forward for this show already. I know there are a lot of shows around this date so i really appreciate the support.

Im still looking to match a few weights:

2 x 65kg males, 1 novice & other is 1/1
69/70kg male novice first timer
73-76kg male 3/1
2 x 53-56kg females both novice first timers

Thanks for any help with these, This is the only thai show I will be doing every year so i will be looking to send fighters around the UK to repay the help until next feb for next thai show.

Still wanting to put junior fights on here too so if anyone has juniors they want to match please let me know

cheers

would just like to say thanks to craig...this was a great little show, well ran and everyone was really well looked after.
gutted for chrissy who showed tremendous heart for his first fight. we thought he had it to begin with but lawrence had a ridiculously tough chin of steel and deservedly took the points decision. And massive well done to Dean Bell who took the decision on points after taking the fight on a weeks notice.
fight of the night for me (although am probably biased) was chrissy Quinn and lawrence, simply for the heart chrissy showed even though he lost. very proud of him.
Jonno and Jim was a CRACKER of a fight and a real crowd pleaser. Jonno showed that he is really a force to be reckoned with, lovely, relaxed style with the best overhand i have ever seen. Jim was less experienced going into the fight but held his own and has a tremendous chin and huge heart and such a lovely guy.

the NFL shows are tremendous, and such a good showcase for up and coming north east fighters, and we as a club are very grateful that they are our on our doorstep and giving our guys the opportunity to show what they are made of x

Yeah jonno was class.i couldn't get going,or find my range, feel like i let myself down so feeling sorry for myself. i thought jonno's right hand was working really well, he landed a nice one on my left temple, my legs are fine though, so pleased he didn't follow them up,i'm positive jonno will go on to great things in muay thai. was an honour to fight him. sorry didn't do better though, so it's back to the gym. jonno good luck in future and well done jim

Jim was one of the nices guys iv met.
fought consistently for 5x3's too and caught me on the nose with an elbow lol.
I felt out first round , pushed strong second and landed some strong shots ,
but jimmy is a tough guy.
my fitness wasnt 100% cause of usual shit before fights so just kept relaxed and high scoring. What everyone (dad, tony, pele, daz, vinny,*DAVY MAC always shouts at me lol) had told me to do and knee/body kick.
Thankyou again Jim mate.
2010 will be a different year for me xx ,
(special thanks again to vinny "the master" shoreman)

A big thankyou for all the support for the show! Our first try at a thai show so was a learning curve in a lot of ways. A good test also to see where the guys sit level wise with the other clubs nvolved. Some great performances. Jim and Jonno was a really good fight, Jonno you've moved up quickly in level over the few fights that ive watched you in, its a credit to yourself, your dad and your team well done. Ive gotta say a big well done to Jim, this was a big step up in level from anyone you've fought before, after only 3 fights exp and your first fight for over a year it was a big ask to step in with jonno FTR, you done us all pround mate. Also gotta give a mention to Hayley with a guttsy performance against Cassie who again was the more experienced fighter. For your first one it was a hell of a fight. Cassie looked strong and seems very relaxed for her short time trainng well done.

Fight of the night for me was def Lawrence and chrissy, was a typical novice novice brawl but great etertainment, well done both lads and to phoenix.

Thanks again for all your help, it would take to long to mention everyone but all involved.
