We`ve mentioned Creatine and ECA stacks, but does anyone take a high Protein supplement such as a powdered drink? If so, have you noticed any improvement?

I used to take Creatine and protein together but never really noticed any tangible benefits. Saying that, I was only boxing, muay thai training and running, with VERY minimal weights, if any, which is really where the Creatine and Protein is to be used.

Would you therefore say the above are really only good for weight work and dont have any impact on improving general fight training cardio or power wise?

Protein is very important. The more you work out the more you'll need but you're taking it to fill a need not to get a boost. Even when doing weights (need more to provide building blocks for growth than for maintanance or daily functions) you are only taking what you need.

Taking protein does little for muscle growth without setting the muscle up for growth. It facilitates growth but doesn't cause it.

Basically determine your needs and take what you need. Taking it won't give you a boost if thats what you are looking for. But taking the right amounts will fill your needs and allow your body to do what you want it to.

More isn't better! Just cause something can help doesn't mean you just take a bunch or take more andmore.

Even water can be toxic if you drink too much.

Figure out body needs (lean muscle mass, projected muscle gain, daily function etc) and take accordingly.

Protein is primarrily a building block.

The goal of sport nutrition is to build a better body so that it can perform better.

Generally there are few healthy ways to simply take something and hope for a jump.

It takes time. Give it the right stuff and stress it right(with balanced recouvery) and over time the body will grow better and better.

Muscle cells take about 6 months to fully turn over.

Provide your body with what it needs and avoid damaging things and in six months it will be that much better.

It can continually progress this way. The body learns to absorb and use nutrients better and better and as the body grows better and performs better it opens for more and more growth and function..

There is no microwave fix all.

Put in the good, exercise right, rest right(the only time for growth), avoid harmful substances and it gets better and better.

Just to let you know I am very happy with the gelatin...

Its cheaper than most powders out there (that I don't think are worth the money).

I have also been learning more about it etc

Today those of us who eat meat eat only the end organs... the muscles.

If you go back to how we got here we ate much more of the animal, I won't get into internal organs etc (though I think one would do well to eat them yuk). There is alot of goodness in bonem, cartalage etc as well...

gelatin is almost pure protein but the big thing is that its mix of amino acids etc will complement the mix of what you get out of muscle meat.

We are designed and hgot here eating much more than muscle meat (deffinatly not from eating whey protein powders). That said better yet is to make your own gelatin.. but I don't get to that often (read yet).

You could mix it with water, juice, I make mine into jello mostly and then put some in with yogurt. fruit, eggs fopr a snack or lets say i have ground beef or a stirfry i'll had some in and it just melts to liquid. Cannot taste at all...

You could put in tea of coffee if you wanted..

Its reasonably priced too.

Great lakes is a good company-quality is always important.

If anyone tries let us know how you like (no taste lol).

I make jello just cause i'm not sure how long I can leave out-in fridge just goes to jello... I make enough for a few days and just have a little with breakfast and supper etc

I would take most whey proteins for free or even if paid... certainly not a soy!!!

gelatin is perfect to suppliment with meat-home made is better (anyone want to make for me? lol)
