I have to (grudgingly) agree with Loo, it's a cracking venue. Great atmosphere and the booze is mega cheap. Although does this contradict Stevie's cheap booze thread in the off topic forum? Lol.

YIPPEE!!!

Just found out one of my mates has a ticket for me

Grant v Shaw, I think either could win it. I knee clash and a couple of clever throws are all that seperated them last time

Islam v Douglas, I aint seen John Douglas in a while but I reckon he'll want to prove his worth. He's capable of winning but not if he's as lazy as he used to be. No disrespect to him but he was guilty of doing just enough sometimes

Meikle v Jamison, I cant call this one but its a big sexy prospect. I think Meikle shaves it for experience but Jamison is an aggressive big hitter

Cullin v Mindin, Not a clue because I have no knowledge of Mindin. Cullin looke like he has a TKD background. Looking forward to this one

Good luck to all the fighters and lets pray for no more snow and safe journey home

Excellent event and a great high standard from all the fighters.
The kids were amazing
John Cullen took the result deservedly I think, but Lin Minden, WOW! what a tough boy. Fight of the night I thought.
Really impressed by Stevie Meikle, kept his engine running and total composure right through the 5 rounds

Title fight - im gutted for Paul Grant. Although im no judge I definately had him ahead on points by country mile before he got injured

Great night and thanks to all involved

thanks for your kind words blzbub, paul was outstanding taking the first 2 rounds well, im very proud of him he came back after the second round with a sore thigh, early in the third chris found this weaknes and to his credit he hammered it, a deserving victory and a superb comeback from chris, hes a nice kid and a great fighter. both will go on to do well in the adult divisions.

anyway ,i digress,

thank you to everyone who took part tonight i was a great show with a really good crown, some great fights (alegedlly, i didnt see to many of them) the john cullin Lyn Min-din fight was apparenty amazing, thank you especially to evryone who dug deep for the raffle and to those who brought raffle prizes especially evil al from wossobama who donated cussley gloves tshirts an shorts, all the money went to the family of one of maries 16 yr old students who died this week, im really proud that everyone pulled together to help this familly. thank you

Gary O'Brien STBA

(Sit Ayuthaya )Paul Grant v Chris Shaw(Wossobama)(5x2)
Chris won by TKO in RD3 after an assault of knees to Paul's leg. Have to agree with above Paul was much cleaner with his scoring and has improved loads since I last saw him, not to mention he gets a few inches taller as well!

(NKT) John Cullon v lin mindin (Caledonian)
John won on points and it was a cracking fight and also close fight. I am a big fan of John's and he really does have a lot of potential once he gets some more composure through more ring experience. But it was the first time i saw Lin and I have to say I was really impressed with him, very relaxed and fluid with his techniques, he looked like he was an experienced pro, i can see big things for him!

(Caledonian) Stevie meikle v alan Jamison(NKT)(5x2)
Stevie won on points. Another cracking fight and it was very close fight, which would definitly justify a rematch in the future. Stevie used his experience in Thailand to pace the fight and also score a little better under Muay Thai rules to just take it in the last round. As I said, a close and cracking fight!

Joeanne Calderwood didn't fight.

Well done to the Sit Nai crew for putting on the show and to all the fighters, all of the fights I saw were really good!

Your opponent weighed in at 56.5kg on Friday.

There was never meant to be a Saturday weigh-in.

Clearly a fighter is going to be heavier the day after having eaten and rehydrated in preparation for the fight.

Wossobama Jojo. Having fought and had a fight cancelled at the last minute myself, I understand as many other fighters do, that it is frustrating when it happens as you feel you have trained hard for nothing. However, I know the girl you were matched with and as far as I understand fight was matched at 55kg for a day before weigh in. I realise that you probably trained hard for your fight but she also worked hard to make the weight, especially as she had three weeks to fight train and lose the weight. I spoke to her a number of times in the week leading up to the fight and your comment of 'she knew she was over weight during the week' appears to be completely unfounded and based on hearsay. I understand the position you're coming from but to base you opinions on 'i heard from someone who was talking to someone' and post them on the internet is a little unfair in my eyes.
