Ive damaged my wrist on a heavy bag (im assuming its tedon damage), it was a straight cross (abviously not that straight lol) . I can clench a fist and apply pressure straight on my knuckles as if punching no worries but any twisting ie turning a key in a door or pressure on finger tips sends sharp pains either side of my hand / wrist .... its been a week i cold compressed straight away and ive had it srapped in the day for the last week its feelin better but still not great ..... any advice or info on healing ?

Ive had that a few times, Ive never really had it looked at properly by anyone when it has happened because as you mentioned most of the function is their, just annoying things like turning the steering wheel in the car ,holding handle bars while riddiing bike etc, oh yeah and turning door knobs lol. My advice would be to rest it when training and and use it still in all the other ways that you have where it doesnt cause you pain, cause you dont want it to get tooo weak. I usually just listened to what my body told me and when it seemed like I could use it on the bags ,I did tentatively...and if any pain I would just ease off.

Always helped me develpop my left anyhow, injuries are good for that, being able to focus on an area that you wouldnt usually utilise.

make sure you give it good support when you are training, but if its not too bad i dont know if its necesary to strap it for day to day activities.

Snail-good luck... I'd suggest seeing a good ART guy and getting laser (based on newtonian laws, the laser my guy has that is based more on quatum theory...well he isn't convinced yet), infrared, traumeel, course ice etc...

physical repair in the body occurs most from 10-2am so early to bed is champ (if you want to get crazy bed with the sun...) Bright lights and stress (hard exercise included) gets cortisol up...that needs to come down for rest and repair hormones to go up...so 10pm bed time after bright lights and stress will not be the same as 10pm after dimmed lighting and relaxing and preparing for bed.

There are a few threads on healing.

I actually have an injury right now that I am going to get some laser done on today. As I type I had a portable infrared on it... and an ever ready supply of ...

I trust it will be fine within a week (won't mention what incase not quite heeled as I do have a fight coming up...I think..

Good luck... believe it will heal don't think negative about it...Take care of it with care (like a Mum would) there is healing power in intention -this might be wacko to you but...

there are exercises to increase chi to different areas of the body too.. If you nevcer do then no time like present to start however if you only do for a bit you are not likely to notice results... Personally with QiGong especially...I've never healed this fast... But thats mumbo jumbo to many..

I wish I could remember the details but this laser machine had 5 stages...

First it was a lower level, warm up the area I think, then the second (I forget), the third was infrred and fourth (I forget-might be 3-4 switch) and 5th was the hard core deep stuff that I htink stimulates the mitochondria etc...

This one is based on Newtonion ideas... like I've said the one based on Quantum theories my guy isn't yet convinced (he's into quantum stuff too)..

He wants me to go for another one fri but I have no time...maybe mon... we'll see...

If nothing else I'll get a plasebo effect as i trust my guy and he truists this machine lol

ART-active release techniques (or is it therapt? lol)

Seems like alot of chiros do it too but I imagine you should be able to find someone in your area.. Keep in mind that all are not created equally-if you know someone you trust in realted fields try to get a suggestion about who is good from them.

Laser is seperate (my ART guy does it also is all). I know there are different types of machines and companies...

This is not where I go but they use the same machines if you want to look for that... I have no idea if they vary much in quality etc..

lasercaretherapy.com -they might have the kind of laser they use on the site-I don't know...

Infrared you can buy relatively cheap portible ones
http://www.thermotex.com/products.htm

My chiro/ART guy ordered mine.. just looking under the name though thats what I found on line...

A good ART guy should be able to get a good idea of what is going on in your wrist etc

NMT-I have no experience with this yet but I hear its about the best shit out there. I plan on learning some and at least looking into more.

If you're having no luck I can text or call my ART/chiro guy and see if he can point in a direction.

These are not the only ways by any means... but they are things that get good results and I have experience with (except the NMT).

Someone who does good energy work, if you are open to it can help too.

I have a spondlyolysthesis (spel?). Basically I have a vertebra that has been moved forward. A rope swing broke and I fell onto a log when I was about 15 or 16... I bugged it resently, quite painful and got some good results with some energy work. My program to rehab it is going very well and I'll start training again prob in a couple days.

But that is out there for many people (I'll tell you that I have become sensitive enough to feel the energy go through me when getting the work done. I can't prove it but I can feel it and therefor for me I know it is doing something)

Good luck-think healing. believe it-it makes a difference-look at the plasebo effect.
