There seems to be genuine optimism in the players at the challenge ahead. We still have some half decent players and some good young uns in there and if wisey can instill the effort and enthusiasm he had himself as a player weve got a chance. F@*k it weve nowt to lose.

Preparations underway in Bournemouth! Meet confirmed between you and me Phil. A good old fashioned meet between two factions (just you and me) in a pub right near me shop (so I dont have to travel too far. My legs dont work like they used too). Drink, banter, a crap game in the rain, drink, banter, a chinese and home to my pipe and slippers by 7.30. My idea of a perfect relaxing afternoon. Danny Dyer would be proud of us.

Yes, the FA are meeting today to discuss this amongst other items.

We have jack shit chance of getting anything back and will probably come out with more points deducted, if anything, for having the temerity to actually appeal!

Us Northern upstarts, what were we thinking!

It will probably be at 4.55 when they are due to go home at 5 so they will just say "Leeds United - nah, leave it as it this, are we off then".

Name the team that has scored the most amount of goals in the top four divisions

Name the team that has conceded the least amount of goals apart from Liverpool's two.

Then it all went its up on Saturday

the teams in this crap league need to enjoy us while they can. Coming to us and witnessing crowds never before seen in this division, one of the best atmospheres in the country, having there away ends filled with englands finest, getting there biggest home attendance in years and witnessing history in the making. Not only the only team to start with minus points never to get relegated but to go on and win the league.

kilkenny looks good, think that shambles on new years day might give us the kick up the arse we needed after getting a little complacent.Reckon after clearing minus 15 etc we started thinking we would walk it,me too,but theyre are some decent teams near the top and we need to keep hungry. A couple more new faces will keep pressure on players too and force them to perform.swans will start slipping soon and we ll come through.
Still too good, still champions to be.
Posted: 2008-01-21 18:33:47
Just a mention - things aint looking so great for you right now boys:) You may just make it to the play offs. Still, you can always blame it on the point deductions.
Posted: 2008-01-22 06:10:16
Well I think it would be fair enough to blame it on being deducted 15 points if we finish 14 points off auto promotion. Especially considering the 15 point deduction was a rule made up on the spot!

Every team goes through a rough spell, we are just in ours. We will come through it stronger and with a team that will be flying!

Will you be atte4nding the Lions Den in April Mr Sams?

And you won't have to play the MIGHTY Doncaster! LOL.

C`est la vie, the darkest hour is always before dawn. We did amazingly well to get this far anyway with everything stacked against us at the start of this season.

We will be back next year with the added advantage of starting on equal points with everyone else!

see you at sixfields, dont smash the tavern up next season please costs a fortune draughting in old bill from milton keynes for this game and peterboro have gone up so that will be a mad 1 next season
Posted: 2008-05-29 05:50:20
Applied last season but didn`t get a ticket, you need to get a bigger ground.
Liam R
Posted: 2008-05-29 06:38:45
its shat owned by council they play rugby on it and all sorts, its same ground as newcastle same designers built it but its only single tier on 3 sides so holds 7600 approx aparently if we had beat grimsby in payoff final a few yrs back to get into championship they were gonna double tier the 3 shit stands so they were all like the west stand, making capacity 12000 but midweek would be dead and would need decent away following to full it, currently most teams get only south stand about 800 tickets but big teams like leeds get half the family stand with a row of stewards inbetween fans lol gives them about 1200 tickets. shit ground no fans shit ground no fans lol. better than county ground though where george best scored 6 in 1 game lol but i have took penalties at half time on both pitches and scored 2 out of 3 against reserve keeper, used to be season ticket holder for 8yrs but stopped going, only go to trouble games now as no atmosphere and its robbery price to watch shit players who i lap when they are running on the park and are shitfaced in the clubs on a friday night b4 a home game. Turds. anton ferdinand and reo coker or whatever his name is were out a little while back though but they were giving it the barry mcguigan and got abused in envy haha

Might do what some others did and sit on that big mound outside where you can see the pitch (or so it looked in some pics I saw). One ticket for the gypo freebie stand please.

Take it Peterborough are you local rivals then?
Liam R
Posted: 2008-05-29 09:07:43
yeah barry fry is a c*nt lol loads of chavs sit on the hill but u can only see the away end i love watching them jumping up and down cheering when theres a goal and people inside ground chanting gypo gypo lol. that ground is built on top of an old tip those vents everywhere are letting out flammable gas its no smoking anywhere near there, ridiculous doubt there would still be gas now but originally they claimed it could blow up.

I ended up in fooking Wealdstone in an Irish pub called O'Sullivans. I imagine the atmosphere would have been slightly better at the Elephant.

Got and pics of the Donny end. Pick a seat, any seat, theres enough for everyone.

My view of the Leeds massive from a point where we needed oxygen we were so high up.

yeh phil it was an amazing weekend apart from the obvious, the stadium has to be experienced to be believed. Ive got loads of pics from different areas but struggling to get em on but will try again.
End of the day mate being whites fans we are used to dissapointment on the pitch its almost expected. but as any Leeds fan will tell you its about a lot more than that, the support is second to none, thats what makes us proud no matter what league were in. It would be nice to get back where we belong though sooner rather than later lol

hope this works. a view of the Donny end.
Empty spaces and Leeds all over.
Must be two thousand congragated at top (surrounded by stewards) and another 500 in bottom tier again with stewards round. not to say the middle tier that was Leeds all way round.
Had to have 50000 there that day. Not bad for a division three club that arent famous any more lol

Funniest was all the Leeds streaming across when they got the ok to do so. Was like a long snake of people covering half the stadium!

We need to take far less next time, always seem to lose to a team followed by one man and his dog.

Dont worry, this thread hasn`t died, it`s just resting in the close season.

It will be back in full flow shortly for all you closet Leeds fans who just love being kept abreast of news from the palatial ER.
Posted: 2008-06-24 10:18:54
Actually I wanted Leeds back in the premiership -

Liverpool V Leeds was rivalry at its best!!!

Liverpool v Chelski (who the fck are they) is in its infancy !!!!

That is unless you are an underinformed Sky presenter who is trying to convince you that liverpool and Man U have some long running relationship with Cheslki!! One I have to admit completly passed me by in the 60`s 70`s 80`s and 90`s !!

Yup put Leeds back where we can give them a good roasting !! LOL
Posted: 2008-06-24 10:24:07
Chelsea are a club with very little history and are simply a rich mans plaything.

Liverpool and Leeds actually get on quite well all things considered and most Leeds fans would want them to win the title as compared to Scum and Chelski and the Emirates Foreign legion.

were playing some really good football this season ,better than last year and the squad is a lot stronger we have real strength in depth especially in midfield.
Champions of league and another wembley visit in JPT final would be awesome
Posted: 2008-09-15 16:20:37
I was watching the subs at half time on Sat, and realised they were our first choice midfield only a few games ago. Macca has developed a very good squad and Fabian Delph is absolutely outstanding, think a mix between a young Viera, Gerrard and Gazza and you get the picture, he really is that good.

Any player who combines controlling a high dropping ball with a Cruyff turn to beat his man, like he did on Sat, gets my vote anyway!

Great result that today, was always going to be one of our hardest games of the season.

Don`t want to jump the gun but it is looking promising for this season, we have got an actual bunch of players that play as a team, with quality and hard work thrown into the mix as well.

Anyway - based on tonights performances, mid table is about right for both. A draw with Swindon is bad. A loss to Hereford is a disaster:(

Proof in the pudding is if we can put up a bit of fight away from home against a team of scrappers that take the lead. I don`t think we can, more losses to come.

We might get a result against Scunny on Sat but if Oldham are up for it at Boundary Park then no chance.

cant see why beckford gets slagged me sen. 22 games 16 goals. last years league one player of year. could have gone but stayed loyal. end of day hes capable of that magic that wins games, frightens defences etc. yeh sometimes looks lazy but would you rather want an alan smith type who chases every lost cause etc (an admirable quailty) but scores 8 goals a year. I personally think hes our top man, take his goals out of it and were nothing
Posted: 2009-03-01 07:19:04
if the defence was a bit better we could go up automatically, but looks like play offs again, oldham on monday will be a great atmosphere if leeds score first, you can sense something good is going to happen to leeds soon and without being biased , leeds fans are the greatest.

Dont think he gets slagged as such, he is just a lazy bugger. He also scores goal in gluts eg. 4 in 2 games then nothing for 8 games where his laziness really does shine through without the goals.

We would be lost without him though so I`m not complaining. Lineker never stepped out of the box but he did alright!

Not off to Stocky mate (just been 2 weeks in a row to Dons and Colchester away so would be dim view taken by the wife!)

Got Northampton tickets this morning, they are selling well fast though.
Deano White

I didnt think they was on sale until April 15th ?
Posted: 2009-04-06 13:50:54
On sale to members from today, think general sale will be april 15th.

Most of North Stand, apart from blocks at sides next to NE/West Stands, is already mostly resricted to single seats, not many together.

East Stand Upper will be open though

Draw tonight at Orient !!!

most of the ppl buying tickets for last game double quick i bet want b at wembley if we get Millwall ;)

fooking idiots tonight, whats this 10 man curse we have suddenly found urselves under?

Least it will make everyone shut up about 2nd place when it was never going to happen anyway.

Always said Tranmere match will be the big one and if we win on Sat then against Tranny we should be more or less cemented for play offs.

Squeaky arse time yet again.

F@*k me Dickinson was shit

He was wank last week when he came on against Colchester as well.

Need to send the lummox back to Derby asap, even though our two main strikers are injured.

Fooking Casper would be better up front than that streak of shite.

I think Dons will win as well though to keep us and Millwall away from them and Peterborough.

Could all change but I don`t think it will.

Wonder if Millwall will bring more than 350 this time (bring on the quality not quantity comments!) :)

Great performance from the lads today, perfect to set themselves up for the play offs.

Have all away fans been banned from both grounds ?

No mate, we get 1000 tickets down at Den, they get same here.

Bit gutted because they were originally going to get half south stand so i got my ticket in the nearest enclosure to them, but now they will just have cheese wedge and I will just have 50m of netting to shout at.

over two legs they cant match us imo, got hotel booked already for final. 90 mins only owt can happen but we look stronger than last year think its our time.
My daughter got all autographs and photos of most of players before game, signed all over leeds top plus i got photo of them all with her individually, great set of lads give loads of time to fans made her day said it was one of best days of her life. Thought that was great of em all and they do it every week

They will come out of the woodwork for this one Deano. The return of Right Said Fred starring in On The Buses.

Thats good of the players, did that include Beckford as well? He is normally as good as Harry Kewell when it comes to player/fans interaction.

Didnt get Beckfords as we were in wrong spot and young uns fave "Hughesy" turned up at other side where we then stayed but straight up Beckford was first there and stayed longest was surprised myself but fair play to him.
League one player of the year too and rightly so first player to score 34 goals since Charles apparently.
Posted: 2009-05-05 17:17:03
Must have turned over a new leaf then, about time for the sulky chops.

I`d have got you a ticket if I`d known you were struggling for one Deano.

Thats gonna be the one thing that pisses me off if we get back up to the top flight, the amount of people who suddenly come back. Might well put me off a bit, think I might be a bit bitter when it comes to it!
Deano White
Posted: 2009-05-06 02:05:44

Thing is as i say the Champions leaugue gang back in town taking bird etc where where they earlier in the season really piss*s me off !!! Bet they wouldnt have been at Wembley if Millwall but all there v MK Dons or Scunny but 101% sure if we stay down that be them back into the woodwork again ;)
Posted: 2009-05-06 04:59:25
Without a doubt mate. Its been hard enough getting tickets for some matches this season without Charlie, his bird and their Japanese mate wanting a ticket as well.

That used to really fuck me off in the Prem. You`d go somewhere like Arsenal, see some familiar faces, but then suddenly there are loads of blokes with their lasses at a fancy away game, lasses who had obviously not even been to a match before. How the fook did they get tickets in the first place, when some person who has been to loads of matches can`t even get one. I think I want us to stay down, its more fun :)
Posted: 2009-05-06 11:47:32
We only bring 350 to you because you are not considered an A class firm anymore:) We put more out for Tranmere.

Looking forwrad to seeing you all again - or the backs of you anyway:)

P.S Ive had me pearly suit dry cleaned especially!
Posted: 2009-05-06 17:10:11
Only reason you want to see our backs is cos yous are a load of bummers who want us bent over when you come to town.

I`m going to to let my ferret tear your suit to shreds and my whippet will piss on the remnants.

Apart from that may the best team win!

not the best performance today especially second half.Still not a bad result though one nil is easily overturnable IF we play as well as we can.
Will be different game thurs in front of 37000, makes a half full Lions Den in a play off semi final look more like a Kitten Pen. Call that an atmosphere ROFL
Posted: 2009-05-09 13:53:58
Def not a disaster. Very nearly an excellent away performance, shame about the defensive lapse for the goal.

No way Snoddy will have 2 bad games in a row. He will feed the Beckford and the Beckford and he will score. 3 times!

Leeds hardly turned up
Their goal makes it a bit interesting, but under normal circumstances I think Leeds'd do them 2,3 or even 4 nil.

Posted: 2009-05-11 03:47:30
Sunday May 24th but its a 1pm Kick off as last Prem games are that date as well, so they want us done and dusted before the London clubs kick off.

Deano, where you sitting mate?
Posted: 2009-05-12 17:59:44
Are you queers sure?

Leeds were garbage: Millwall were passable in the 2nd half and still managed the result.
Quote of the week Phil: "Def not a disaster. Very nearly an excellent away performance, shame about the defensive lapse for the goal".

I agree that 37000 will make a better atmosphere than the 37 of you that turned up to the Den.
And don't be hurtful - you know we can't raise those numbers in the ground because most of us are on banning orders or in nick - I blame society in general for the lack of guidence and direction in our lives as teenagers.

Right, now I'm off to see if we can raise as many as 350 to come to you Thursday. But somehow I think those tags we wear might prevent that happenning.

See you there ladies:) Deano - get the transit ready:)

991 turned out for us mate, the other 7 must have been 'waylaid' somewhere.

Plus it nearly was a great away performance. Under the cosh in a hostile environment, resolute defending and creating 1 or 2 chances on the break. Only reason you scored was because Naylot had his slippers on.

Save me a custard cream.
Posted: 2009-05-13 03:11:43
Naylor not Naylot.
Posted: 2009-05-13 03:23:54
Love your optimism. They barely got out of their own half in the 2nd half. It could have been 6-0 if we actually had anyone that could get a ball within 15ft of the goal. You were useless compared to us being "just ok".

However - I expect Leeds to be better at yours - just not good enough:)

Deano - see you at yours:)

Great game - Leeds kept us under pressure the whole time. I really didnt think we would get that goal back.
A good strong game - not too much faggy rolling about for no reason. Tough tackles, loads of passion,37000 and the right result for us.
Unlucky Leeds, it was probably the game of the play offs.

End of the day weve blown it all season with 14 or so defeats dont deserve it. The team we have now are future champions if we keep em.

Have arsenal won owt since Henry left not sure, yeh they play nice football but as Barca shown by outclassing the Scum there needs to be an end product, someone scoring loads of goals, maybe Becchio will be the man after a great first season.

Great to have the season back again. We did play very well phil and that new centre half played wel looks a decent buy. Shame about pen, we played em off park. Not getting carried away though it means fuck all. Nice touch by Robbo throwing gloves into crowd etc, wish we still had him

new men doyle and kisnorbe (or whatever)look great additions, not sure abiout crowe yet but dont think well miss delph really. I thought we looked good particular first half v exeter and with Becks started where he left off its looking good.
Having said that knowing us well get beat by the mighty wycombe.
Highlight of exeter game was that young kid who invaded pitch for ages , ran to east stand and give it the old ussain bolt victory salute, class!
Posted: 2009-08-13 03:05:24
and they had to go get his dad before they escorted him out!

Crowe is a great signing, a right back with some pace for once. It was his overlap and cross that got us the winner. Fraser wouldn`t have been anywhere near the oppo byline in the 90th minute, the carthorse.

How the fook does John Barnes keep picking up jobs?

Great player, but his usefulness ended when he hung up his boots.
Posted: 2009-08-26 05:13:53
Can you please let us have Beckford off you for 3.5million? Fair price bearing in mind what league he is playing in ;-)
We will give you the Swedish Donkey Elmander in part ex.!!

Well we got a win at last V the mighty Tranmere in the Carling cup
Posted: 2009-08-26 11:28:26
2 months ago you could have had him for 5m but hands off now, no time to get a replacement in!

That Elmander does look like a load of tosh. You need to sell Kevin Davies and get a striker in that actually scores goals.

Dont get you hopes up that your season is about to turn around, a team of 1 year olds would beat Tranmere right now.
Posted: 2009-08-26 16:25:52
Davo got a career best of 13 last season.Would like to take Beckford off your hands for sure.Oh to have Anelka in the white shirt again....or Okotcha,Youri,Herrio...

Not gettin giddy about beating Tranmere! I was there to witness the absolute sh*te served up against Sunderland the other week. Can only get better....
Posted: 2009-08-26 17:16:40
Beckford wouldnt do much for you, he needs 15 chances to score 1 and the speed and agility of the defenders in the prem would see him neutralised most games.

He is great for us at this level as we can create all those chances for him and there are a lot of plodder defenders in L1 so he is bound to get one, whereas how many chances do prem strikers get a game, 4 or 5 on a good day?
Posted: 2009-08-27 06:39:56

End of this month and October will go some way to shaping our entire season.

Playing current 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed teams in succession, and also Norwich in front of the Sky cameras.

We get most of the spoils from these and things will be looking damn good.

Best thing we can do is just concentrate on ourselves and suddenly find we have a 10pt gap between ourselves and third place. Don`t care if we finish 1st or 2nd, as long as we go up auto.

Went to Bristol last Tues. First half was rubbish from both teams, our goal the only highlight.

Second half we were like a team possessed. If Capello had been watching he would have had Beckford, Johnson, Naylor and Howson in the next squad!

Same again on Sat, lame first half, different team in second half.

Seems to be the same with us most of the season, strange.

Flippin' Millwall might have done us some good with a kick up the ass though, made the players realise they have to earn the win, not just think it will happen automatically.

Never mind that, what i dont understand is how we can trash MK Dons, beat you - then lose 2-0 at home to 2nd from bottom Wycombe. Nothing has really changed desoite the odd good result - But you look pretty safe at this point!

Agree Phil hes a top manager , was unsure when we got him but a big fan now. His signings have been good and i like to hear him speak, always down to earth and a local lad too.
Cant see becks going in jan why not stay and try his hand in championship with us. Not sure about what they have offered him money wise, whats true and not true. End of the day he should be our top paid player, ive heard rumours that michelic and robinson are on more dont know how true, but if i was him that would piss me off.
Give him what hes worth and hopefully hell stay.
Posted: 2009-11-22 15:56:41
He will be here until at least May unless a daft offer comes in, both Bates and Grayson have said that.

Plus, I don`t think he has been half as prolific as last season, he isn`t even top scorer in the division is he?

Anyway, if we go up he will stay as we will be the most attractive club in CCC then, unless Liverpool keep dropping!

Spawny result tonight, we were shite!

What a winning goal though, one of the best I`ve seen at ER! Didn`t even see the ball move till the net bulged!

Sooner we get our first choice defenders back the better, we are playing with 4 reserves there at the minute, any team would struggle with that, never mind the fact that the lads that come in for us are liabilities.

Good result on Sat, great goal.

Did well to keep a clean sheet as well considering how many Soton score away from home.

dropping points at home to wycombe, criminal.
Some comedown after the scum victory.
Beckford to go by look of it. Love him or hate him hes gonna take some replacing. There will be pressure on the new boy needing to bang in at least 20 a season.
Cant say i blame him myself, must be frustrating after scoring 20/30 every year, scoring the winning goal in our finest hour, yet there will still be some so called Leeds fans whos only reason in going to the match is to give him negative critisism.
Still cant understand why he wants to go now rather than go for free at end of season and get a big signing on fee, or stay even and try his luck in championship for a year.
Maybe when your own fans give you the days biggest cheer when you get subbed helped. Yes he played shit that day but ffs.

"Beckford is shit, all he does is score goals" classic quote from some delinquant on another forum.

were you there yesterday he was ridiculously lazy and dint get no stick at all from what i heard in the kop...he is dangerous tho and like you say gonna be hard finding another like him who can just pop up any minute and score....we were lucky to even get a point yesterday...only players who looked like they were making any effort were Kisnobo, Naylor and was just flat
we took chanoy yesterday he was really lookin forward to it after seein them beat man u then he got that shite yesterday...poor guy lol
Posted: 2010-01-11 04:25:27
Wasnt unexpected though was it, thats how Leeds roll.

Best result in years followed by rubbish performance, we have always been like that.

Beckford will be hard to replace but there are plenty out there that can do the job.

Hooper at Scunny would be a good one, he would slot in easily.
muay thaison
Posted: 2010-01-11 04:27:47
was there yesterday Liam yes, didnt think he was that lazy myself in fact he worked harder than usual lol serious though.
didnt get as much stick i think reason maybe still fresh is his goal what made our dreams come true last week.
109 ish games 74 goals speaks for itself i wonder how many strikers in the country can boast that or even close. I dont give a f..k how lazy he is if he frustrates us every week with winging and not chasing lost causes but gets 20/30 goals every season his job is more than done.
Should have got chanoy on pitch would have done better than half the team on sat. Worst performance of season so far
Posted: 2010-01-11 05:39:25
Need to stop playing Howson on right mid and Snod on left mid, completely nullifies 2 players as both are poor in those positions, takes away Snoddys impact in particular.

What a performance on Sat. Weathered the storm and showed the strength to twice come back from a goal down.

Thought Beckford would mess the pen up, he has more bottle than I gave him credit for.

Now we just need to try as hard again tonight against Swindon.

5 pts in last 15 though in league not championship form
Posted: 2010-02-07 12:37:56
We didnt play shite.

We competed really well, which was a pleasant surprise after previous league games that came after a cup game.

SG messed up in the 2nd half by putting Gradel up front after Beckford went off, it just didnt work, but we still had a good few chances and their keeper was in top form.

The lads never stopped going for it and in that respect it was one of our better performances this season.

I only heard it on radio mate didnt sound good with Eddie Gray saying performance was poor too, like you say though if they keep putting the effort in doesnt always go your way maybe seemed worse than it was.
End of the day weve had a few last minute escapes this season so due some bad luck, not often we can say that as Leeds fans

Dominate orient but no goals, sneeked what we deserved by sound of it.
Beckford back and 3 home games on trot should go a long way to securing auto.
Not sure why but we seem a worse team since bringing the loan players in.
Kisnorbo is badly missed too, buy of the season.

Absolutely gutted, yet again.

SG got to shore it up, get back to basics and make us hard to beat again, scrap a few 1-0`s.

Get the flash harrys out and get the old guard back, Doyle, Hughes and Kissa (if no longer injured)

Only 8 or so league goals conceded up to Christmas shows the worth of having those 3 in the team.

Don`t care if we look shite and the team bore the pants off me, always feels good when you get the 3 points.

We played the best I`ve seen us for a long time yesterday, very undeserved result.

Proud of every one of them yesterday (Beckford lost my praise a bit in second half, feet glued to grass so couldnt jump to challenge headers for 45 mins)

Just could not create that clear chance up front, 3 players all in a triangle on edge of box (grella beckford and snod), with loads of possession, but not one making the run, all with back to goal all the time and tip tapping around.

We`ll beat Swindon 2-0 anyway, and Millwall will lose, so it will all be a little bit rosier again soon.

Played ace mate, made them look average.

SG is still the man for us, and I think we will be a huge amount better when we get someone else in for Beckford who can be a spearhead up front.

Might not be a bad idea to dump him now, radical times call for radical measures.

Can`t honestly see anyone coming in for him though, on the money he thinks he is worth. Wouldn`t surprise me if no-one offers him much mroe than we have already.

Hudds v Millwall friday also
Posted: 2010-04-15 04:08:05
got draw written all over it, think we will get same on Sat though. Gills very very strong at home, one of best records in the whole league.
Posted: 2010-04-15 04:19:13
The Bulldog is only quiet when his PC is down for a few days:) Never one to not hold his hands up when required (i've got used to it over the years with Millwall).

A draw against a poxy team like Yeovil and even then only scraping by in stoppage time is a bit "typical Millwall".

However, it all makes for an exciting finish and Phil's shout of a draw with Swindon and Leeds creeping in is not a bad one. That said, a loss on Friday will put the mockers on that.

Beckford released, i for one am gutted. Hes gonna take some replacing.
Fantastic goal record, the promotion winning goal (amongst others) and forever in our memories as the man whos goal sank scum at old trafford.
Need a big signing up front while they did ajob becchio and gradel together arent a long term solution. Kasper Schmiekel though great buy, league two player of year, not bad for a keeper.

Lovely, lovely - Lets do it all again next season lads. Much love xx :)

Not sure if the striker signings are over just yet, think this could have been just utilising a free transfer as it was available.

Wouldn`t be surprised to see us pay a fee for a quality forward now.

Paynter and Becchio up front? All the pace of the tortoise and the snail.

pretty good peformance yesterday desderved more from game. Need kisnorbo back asap to sort the defence. Schmiekel looks like a fantastic signing, two or three world class saves today kept us in contention. Some really good signs withn players to come back too but the championship looks harder than ever this year. Too early to predict but mid table with an eye on nicking a play off will be a very successful season to build on.

the spine of the team looks really slow the central midlfield and the centre backs have no legs.....2 signings short for this league a box to box centre mid and a fast centre back or one who can read the game really well.....could be a long old season this one
Posted: 2010-08-09 08:05:58
How the flip does Kilkenny keep getting a game?

The number of time he let Commons run off him was unbelievable.

Seemed to me the midfield thought they could just attack, as they have been doing in pre-season, and forgot all about tracking back to defend.
muay thaison
Posted: 2010-08-09 12:10:55
playing with the two new wide men i think we need a holding midfielder, someone who ll mop up and sit in front of suspect defence.
Posted: 2010-08-09 16:30:05
I don`t think we need a holding player, just a couple of box to box lads like Bowyer and Dacourt used to be (at our relative level).

If Johnson wants his central role, which I think he could be very good at, then he has to play box to box like a central
midfielder, not just when he wants.

Howson could possibly do it but he is invisible more often than not.

Imo it`s Johnson + A.N.Otheryettosign
Posted: 2010-08-10 02:34:21
ye your right phil i know hes young and still learning his position but howson dissappears from the game for long periods something you just cant do in centre midfield and killkenny runs like a dart player

Blackpool could do ok if they keep fighting for each other.

Important they keep a little run going as they will falter without a doubt at some point.

I like Ian Holloway, makes me laugh.

Hate to say it, but Robbie Savage makes me laugh on 606 as well, he only comes across as 50% nob now.

Gotta admit bulldog i was a bit unsure before game what with you being our bogey team but in the end we were fantastic today, apart from giving own goal away we battered you full match including three goals and hitting woodwork three times. plus other missed chances.
Wasnt that you were bad, we know you are a good side but we were that good and made it look have beaten anyone in our league today.

McCormack looked ok, quite direct and willing to have a shot. His movement looked good as well.

Was a poor game though, Collins played very well heading a LOT of long balls away time after time.

Kasper Schmeichel is the best keeper in the world, end of, he was magnificent today and mega-cool. A relation of an ex-scum is my new football hero, who would have thought it!

good win yesterday without being at our best. gifted them a lead but responded well, they were dangerous going forward but the best team won.
Not sure we need to be worried about many teams in this league i think were a lot stronger than last year with a better squad. Too early to predict top 6?
Top 6 finish well in our grasp!
Posted: 2010-09-12 11:02:09
If we can get Faye to full fitness, and if McCormack plays to his potential, then we can seriously target more than the play-offs.

Not forgetting the likes of Snodders and Paynter to come back in, as well as the legendary Kisnorbo!

We will need everyone to be firing on full cylinders most games though, as plenty of other teams could easily overhaul us if they are not.

Higgs did well yesterday, but sooner Kasper is back the better.

5.2 defeat at shitty barnsley. Defensive mistakes costing us goals every single game. Bessone is shite for me, weak link not seen him have a decent game yet.
Bounce back v donny on friday and alls forgiven.
Higgs is ok, Kasper amazing. Need him back to command defence big time
Posted: 2010-09-14 17:58:43
Higgs was shite tonight, far too slow, and I`m positive he doesn`t stick his arm out when he dives, just falls over.

Bessone a wankstain, absolute nobhead player. Get him out of Leeds.

Somma and McCormack showed more quality than the rest put together tonight when they came on so I would like to see them start together BUT the lads tonight need a chance to redeem themselves, and I think they will, so I`d keep same XI for Friday apart from Bessone, he can be fed to the pigs.

Was nice being home after only 15 mins on Motorway though.

Not really worth predicting owt with us, you just end up looking daft,we need to learn to play it down when doing well.

On that note well still scrape top 6 ;-)

It`s not too bad Soldier, I gathered a lot of respect for clubs I used to look down on as small fry, and respect for their fans in particular.

Proper loyalty to support your team season in season out knowing the best you may get is to just end up avoiding relegation to L2 and maybe a plum FA Cup tie.

Different world and a welcome eye opener compared to the priveleged fly by nights in the Prem as it is now.

Mate, I was absolutely shitting myself for the last half hour, they fooking bombarded us 100%!

Ref would have given us an 8 count if he could of!

Lovely stadium though, well impressed, nice bunch of people as well.

Bet McSheffery isn't gobbing off now the little wanker! haha!
If we pick up points from Hull on Tuesday i'll be happy wether it be 1 or 3.
Posted: 2010-11-10 05:19:57
2 points madly dropped!

Add that to the 3 we completely dropped against Preston, and that gives us 5 dropped points, which puts us right up there.

Silly players.

HMMMMMMM........Joey Barton is charged by the FA for punching Morton Gamst Pedersen in the chest but Ian Ashbee gets away with elbowing Luciano Becchio in the face and giving him a black eye! The FA have no consistency at all, or is it just because they didn't want to agree with Ken Bates, Simon Grayson and Leeds United?

anti leeds as usual.

Reckon well beat bristol tomorrow. (even though they beat swans who beat cardiff who beat us 4 nil) Thats how it goes this year
League position still looks good despite inconsistency. Its a mad old league this
Posted: 2010-11-12 15:48:38
Daft isnt it, Bothroyd should have gone for trying to do Becchio against Cardiff but we didn`t even get a free kick, yet the next week he got sent off I think?

I reckon we will do Bristol 3-1, will be tough though. When they get back to full strength they will be storming up the league.

Becchio pure legend, 5th in the league, having a great season despite the drubbings from Preston, Barnsley and Donny.
Posted: 2010-11-15 07:48:02
That result got me £70 so good weekend all in all!

Becchio has really stepped up to the mark, I doubted him after his first few games in this division as well.

good result at norwich despite kasper being pushed into net before there goal. Fair result by sounds of it.
Still 5th going strong 5 unbeaten now. Tight win at reading sat for me
Posted: 2010-11-23 06:41:33
For a big fat lad, Kasper didn`t half fall over easily. He should really have stayed on his feet, he was def looking for the free kick.

Reading won`t be easy, I`ll go for a score draw again.

Excellent win, we seem to be playing as a team now and showing the spirit of never giving up that we have done in past seasons (which the jealous call lucky).

Looking forward to QPR, that will be a proper yardstick of our true ability.

4 points thrown away in 2 games. Why can`t we hold onto a lead? We need to let the other team score first, we are better at coming from behind, as the vicar said to the nun.

We played well overall, we walked through them for the 1st 2 goals, Howsons was a beauty. Paynter isn't a patch on Becchio. Billy worked hard and held the ball up well but doesn't look like he has the technical ability Luciano has, a good sub though. McCormack looks decent and would like to see him play upfront with Becchio in a 4-4-2 formation. Gradel and Snoddy are class o both wings and played brilliant yesterday. Howson bossed midfield, box to box quality. Unsure about Johnno holding in centre mid, he started well but seemed to drift away from holding midfield at times. Conolly didn't know what to do with Utaka, and Kanu caused a lot of problems when he came on.

Need to collect all threee from boro sat now, think we will no problem.

Early predictions v arsenal, know we did scum a year ago but arsenal are more technical footballing side who tend to show up the lower quality teams. Do well to keep score down imo
Posted: 2010-12-30 17:17:43
Arsenal defence well dodgy against balls pumped in from wide or even high straight down the middle.

Reckon Becchio will cause them some right problems and we will score 2 and they won`t score more than that (assuming they don`t start with Nasri, Fabregas etc!)

Adam Batley

I read some of your comments with interest, don't know much about Leeds Utd, all I can say is that there is only one Utd - Manchester Utd. Why is Manchester Utd the most successful team in the world. Let's hope Liverpool get relegated this year.

A Glasgow Red.

It was mate, they bossed the first half, us the second.

If it hadn`t been for the lights we would have won as we had a right head of steam built up both times when they went out, we were all over them.

It`s a right shithole down there though, only about 2 fooking roads into the place.

great away win. still only a couple of points in top 6 could be anybodys.
Snoddy and max areon fire lately, if we can keep this form up we will be thereabouts come may
Posted: 2011-02-13 17:11:08
we would be if flippin Norwich didnt keep scoring in the 300th minutes and if Swans and Cardiff stopped winning late on as well.

Going to be well close, I`ll just be glad if we can put real daylight between us and 7th place.

Excellent result yesterday though, next match v Norwich on Sat is absolutely massive.

Our defence is getting a bit annoying.
muay thaison
Posted: 2011-02-23 13:22:40
Ill second that.
Giveaway goals against barnsley thank Fuck for max and snoddy lately.
Massive game v swans sat, not right confident at the moment. Think auto may be too much for us with the goals conceding count. Stillgood enough for top 6 though imo
Posted: 2011-02-23 17:21:05
Snod was poor last night, worst game he has had for a long time. He would have been subbed even we still had 11 on the pitch.

I`ll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was just a bit jaded and it wasn`t the fact his recent international call up has gone to his head and he thinks he is better than he is.

Max Gradel absolute star though, top quality and works harder than he reasonably should have to. We are lucky to have him.
Posted: 2011-02-27 04:41:48

Swans were top notch though.

Not exactly an unexpected outcome!
Posted: 2011-04-16 08:50:24
With apologies for missing what is usually the highlight of my bantering year with Phil:)

Usual result (just) and a (very) outside chance that we might meet somewhere In the play offs (I know, very wishful thinking on our part).

However, I thank you for our safest 3 points of the season - it's been emotional:)
Posted: 2011-04-16 17:11:29
Wishful thinking on both our parts I think mate, see you in the Championship next year.

You might have West Ham as your cup final in this division then though anyway, make a change from it being us. :)
Posted: 2011-04-17 04:51:17
No, I still have a special spiteful place in my heart for Leeds. 1990 in Bournemouth will never be forgiven:)

Although the West Ham option looks promising.......

sold a few decent players and bought no one of note
Kisnorbo back a massive plus and also keeping snody, max becchio etc. Gonna be very hard this year league looks stronger than ever. Then again nucleus of team are still together and another season more experienced i still reckon a top 6 place is achievable.
