buakaw sanechai kaoklai coming to california
Muay Thai Authority started a poll of which international fighter fans would like to see fight in the U.S. (the poll is ongoing) the current leader Buakaw Por. Pramuk will indeed be coming to fight in the United States.
In August Stand Up Promotions will host "World Class Championship Muay Thai" at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 13th in Anaheim, CA. The event will feature Buakaw Por. Pramuk, Saenchai Sinibi Gym, Kaoklai Kennorising, Saiyok Pumpanmuang, and Rungravee Sasiprapa. All five Thai fighters are world class, but most will likely be excited to see former K-1 Max, and WMC champion Buakaw make his United States debut.
No opponents have been confirmed for any of the fighters, but Stand Up Promotions has confirmed with Muay Thai Authority that all five fighters have agreed to fight on the August 13th event.
A clean sweep for the thais the except for koaklai
Just my luck I'm back in Anaheim in June so I guess I've picked the wrong month!!!
Was gonna say, as far as I'm aware there isn't a single american fighter who could stand with buakaw, rungravee or saenchai. kaoklais past it. Better look for foreign fighters for them if you dont want some short and completely one sided matches.
thers a guy Kevin Ross he fight in thailand defeating Malaipet i think that would be a really good fight agents saenchai
Kevin Ross is good. But malaipet is nowhere near saenchais level.
regardless of the opponents, its great that Thai's of that quality are going to fight in the states. America are up there with the best in most sports and martial arts, but they are lagging behind in Muay Thai. They can normally do everything 'in house' and have enough knowledge and talent to take them to the top in practically every other area, but have never really looked outside of america for thai boxing with the exception of toddy and chai and its been to their detriment as their top level thai boxers are no where near the calibre of the UK and other countries.
i imagine this will begin to change though as real muay thai starts to filter through there properly and having fighters like Buakaw and Saenchai there can only be a very good thing for them.
i would think that paydays in the USA are pretty good too so i hope that more English fighters also get some promotion and opportunities there too!
stranger things have happened but i completely agree marianne.
This morning Muay Thai Authority reported that Kevin Ross and Saenchai were likely to fight at Stand Up Promotions August 13th event "World Class Championship Muay Thai" which is set to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.
Stand Up Promotions has since confirmed the bout with Muay Thai Authority, however, no contracts have been signed yet. With Kevin Ross vs. Seanchai already considered a mega fight, it leaves many now to wonder what other interesting match-ups Stand Up Promotions will schedule for the event which will also feature Buakaw Por. Pramuk, Kaoklai Kennorising, Saiyok Pumpanmuang, and Rungravee Sasiprapa.

Joe Schilling vs. Kaoklai Kaennorsing rumored for August 13th Stand Up Promotions event
Joe Schilling captured the interim WBC Muay Thai Super Middleweight National Title on March 5th via TKO of Chase Green in the first round. It seems that Schilling is looking to jump into deep waters now.
Sources have informed Muay Thai Authority that a possible bout with former WBC Muay Thai world champion and K-1 veteran Kaoklai Kaennorsing could potentially take place at Stand Up Promotions August 13th event "World Class Championship Muay Thai" which will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. The event is rumored to feature several promising bouts including a potential match-up between Kevin Ross and Saenchai.
If the fight ends up happening it will undoubtedly be the biggest fight of Schilling's career. Kaoklai is a world class Muay Thai fighter, and Schilling will definitely be entering the fight as a heavy under dog. If Schilling were to pull of the win it would be a huge career boost. For fans not familiar with Kaoklai make sure to visit You Tube and look him up
Kaoklais best days are behind him
saiyok is a wickrd fighter
The yanks will just have 5+ kilos on their Thai opponents to try and balance it out. I don't think it'll help though ;)
In March Muay Thai Authority broke the news that Stand Up Promotions was planning to bring Muay Thai superstar Buakaw Por. Pramuk to the United States. Buakaw was set to fight on Stand Up Promotions August 13th show at the Anaheim convention center called "World Class Championship Muay Thai".
Unfortunately due to contract restrictions Buakaw will not be fighting on Stand Up Promotions on the August 13th event "World Class Championship Muay Thai". Muay Thai Authority has confirmed with Stand Up Promotions the unfortunate news. The card will still have other Thai greats such as Saenchai Sinibi Gym, Kaoklai Kaennorsing, and Randavee Sasiprapa.
Despite the news the Buakaw will not be fighting on Stand Up Promotions August 13th event at the Anaheim Convention Center the fight card is talent filled from top to bottom.
Saenchai Sinibi Gym, arguably the world best Muay Thai fighter will meet American Muay Thai poster boy Kevin Ross. Saenchai recently defeated Liam Harrison in the U.K. and Kevin Ross lost a split decision to Sittisak Por. Sirichai back in February. Before fighting Saenchai, Ross will meet Mark DeLuca at Lion Fight Promotions May 14th event "Battle in the Desert 2" as he looks to defend his WBC Super Lightweight International Title.
The fight card will also feature Kaoklai Kaennorsing vs. Simon Marcus, Rungravee Sasiprapa vs. Kunitaka Fujiwara, Coke Chunhawat vs. Tetsuya Yamato, Shane Oblonsky vs. Artem Sharoshkin, and Kompetchlek Lookprabaht vs. F-16 Rachanont for the WBC Muay Thai Super Featherweight Championship.
Also expected to compete on the card is American stand out Joe Schilling. Rumors of Kaoklai Kaennorsing vs. Joe Schilling originally surfaced, but instead Marcus Simon will be fighting Kaoklai on the same card.
Current Fight Card:
Saenchai Sinibi Gym vs. Kevin Ross
Kaoklai Kaennorsing vs. Simon Marcus
Rungravee Sasiprapa vs. Kunitaka Fujiwara
Coke Chunhawat vs. Tetsuya Yamato
Shane Oblonsky vs. Artem Sharoshkin
Kompetchlek Lookprabaht vs. F-16 Rachanont for the WBC Muay Thai Super Featherweight Championship
Joe Schilling vs. TBA
That is some fight card!! Obviously the one im really interested in is Rungravee vs. Kunitaka.
will this be shown online?

Saenchai vs. Kevin Ross set for WBC Muay Thai Diamond Championship Belt
The stakes have been raised for the bout between Saenchai Sinbimuaythai and Kevin Ross. Muay Thai Authority has confirmed with Stand Up Promotions that not only will Saenchai's MTAA World Title be on the line but the bout has now been scheduled to be for a WBC Muay Thai Diamond Championship Belt as well. The bout set for August 13th at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA will be part of Stand Up Promotions "World Class Championship Muay Thai" event and will be the first ever Muay Thai bout to be fought for a WBC Muay Thai Diamond Championship Belt.
For those not familiar with the Diamond Championship Belt, the WBC (boxing division) created the belt in September of 2009 as an honorary championship exclusively to award the winner of a historic fight between two high-profile boxers. The first WBC Diamond Championship belt was awarded to Manny Pacquiao when he defeated Miguel Cotto on November 14, 2009. The win was Pacquiao's seventh world title in seven different weight classes at the time.
Kevin Ross is probably the most recognizable American Muay Thai fighter and has helped continue the growth of Muay Thai in America, while Saenchai is arguably considered the best fighter in the world. The WBC has explained the Diamond Championship Belt before stating “There are no rules. This is not a championship which has to be defended. It doesn’t have the same obligations as the world champion. It is a tribute to the fight, to both fighters and the winner takes it without having to defend it. It has no rankings. It’s simply a fitting recognition of a brilliant career.”
The boxing version of the WBC Diamond Championship Belt is made of an 18 carat gold plate, 598 diamonds, 196 emeralds, rubies and 150 6 Swarovski gemstones. The cost of the belt is estimated to be $50,000 although there is no word on what the WBC Muay Thai version of the belt will be made out of or what the cost of the belt will be. The picture shown to the left is of the boxing version of the Diamond Championship Belt.
Aside from Pacquiao two other fighters hold WBC Diamond Championship Belts. Sergio Martinez won his Diamond Belt in March of 2011 after beating Serhiy Dzinziruk, and Bernard Hopkins won his Diamond Belt in May of 2011 by defeating Jean Pascal.
Malaipet vs. Chike Lindsay set for August 13th Stand Up Promotions event
The August 13th Stand Up Promotions event "World Class Championship Muay Thai" that will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA keeps getting bigger. Muay Thai Authority has been informed by sources close to the situation that a bout featuring Malaipet and Chike Lindsay has been added to the event, and that it will be for Malaipet's WBC Muay Thai super welterweight international title.
Malaipet has hit a recent rough patch dropping three consecutive fights. In October of 2010 he dropped a decision to Xu Yan at Hero Legends in Malaysia, in December of 2010 he lost a decision to Kevin Ross at Stand Up Promotions "King's Birthday Celebration", and most recently in February he dropped a decision to Michael Mananquil at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert". Despite the recent rough patch Malaipet is always considered a threat in any fight, although the questions about how hard "The Diamond" has prepared for his fights will likely continue to circulate.
Lindsay was set to face Kenny Finister at Bangkok Fight Night 10 on June 10th, but an injury to Finister scrapped the fight. Lindsay has not competed in Muay Thai since dropping a decision to Kevin Ross in December of 2009, however, he hasn't been completely out of competition as he has had a few MMA fights in that time. It will defintely be a test for Lindsay returning to the ring against someone like Malaipet.
Also scheduled for the event is the much anticipated fight between Saenchai Sinbimuaythai and American Kevin Ross.
Current Scheduled Fight Card:
Saenchai Sinbimuaythai vs. Kevin Ross
Kaoklai Kaennorsing vs. Simon Marcus
Rungravee Sasiprapa vs. Kunitaka Fujiwara
Coke Chunhawat vs. Tetsuya Yamato
Shane Oblonsky vs. Artem Sharoshkin
Kompetchlek Lookprabaht vs. F-16 Rachanont for the WBC Muay Thai Super Featherweight Championship
Malaipet vs. Chike Lindsay for WBC Muay Thai Super Welterweight International Title
