Ky Hollenbeck vs. John Wayne Parr expected to take place at Knees of Fury 36 in February

American Muay Thai standout Ky Hollenbeck has faced a slew of talent this year and it seems things won’t slow down for him in 2012. Hollenbeck is expected to fight Australian Muay Thai legend, John Wayne Parr at Knees of Fury 36 in Australia in February of 2012.

Hollenbeck has confirmed that he will be fighting John Wayne Parr, although no official announcement from the promotion has been made. The date for Knees of Fury 36 is tentatively set for February 25th.

Hollenbeck had a breakout year in 2010, winning the Muay Thai Authority 2010 Breakthrough Fighter of the Year award. In 2011 his fast rise up the Muay Thai ranks continued as he collected victories over some top talent from around the world. His 2011 campaign ended with a loss to Nieky Holzken, but the 5-1 record he posted for the year includes wins over Gregory Choplin, Simon Chu, Jordan Watson and Vuyisile Colossa. He also captured the WBC Muay Thai interim middleweight world title in his victory over Choplin.

"Think JWP will be too clever for Ky. "

Me too, he won't be drawn into a brawl with Hollenbeck!

He won split points I think it was but said himself he thinks the decision maybe should have gone to Nonsai. Doesn't Ky fight at 76 or something?

Ky's punch dependent style means he's got a good chance of getting put to sleep by JWP. His best bet will be riding the earlier rounds and coming home strong in R4 and R5, as Parr tends to fade in later rounds.

It's tough to nab the decision if it goes to the cards in Aussie though. Will be an interesting fight.

Would love to see JWP v Michael Wakeling.
Mikes big bro took JWP apart over 5 rounds, leaving him cut to ribbons. Just hope JWP stops coming out with a wiggle...

JWP has been drawn into brawls .... IMO. I think the same could potentially happen. I have all the respect for JWP but I think both these guys have a bit of an awkward style and dont think style wise this is an interesting fight... Or it ends up being a complete war and totally entertaining but my instinct says not an aesthetically pleasing fight to watch.

a few interesting points there- jwp beaten clearly by Steven Wakeling back in 2006 i think it was. Nowadays he does tend to struggle in the later rounds cos he's not as young as he used to be. Maybe the old guys who are fighting still , dont allow themselves enough recovery when training. It cant be easy for him to keep making weight either cos he s a big guy.

JWP is fighting Hollenbeck.
Jordan lost to Hollenbeck which was a robbery
Jordan lost to Mardsue which I believe was unfair
Mardsue lost to Yod back in 2008.
I believe Mardsue would beat Yod now
I believe Jordan would beat Yod.
Yod beat jwp in the Contender.
JWP beat Yod on a debatable points win last year i think it was.

I believe JWP would beat Hollenbeck and Jordan would beat JWP, but i dont think that fight should happen tbh.

JWP beat Yod on a debatable points win last year i think it was.

Who does JWP have left to fight now? I do hope he doesnt end up being the fighter that all the yanks want to fight, when he is past his prime, same as they do Kaoklai and Malaipet and consider it a scalp.

hey Hawkman lol age is a Fact of Life BUT some of the Best fighters are either very young or at the Older end as they mature at 30's great age to be fighting ! Some of the Best in world at this age group
and your fight theory is ok BUT its all he beat him and him beat he and he beat them so he will beat so and so and ............................................................................................................................................................................................... In reality it "Never actually adds up when you / i / we do that"

so right now this as ive said 2 or 3 times now is a "Interesting fight" :-)

The JWP "win" over Yod last year was an outright robbery. Lol wasn't even debatable.
