also luke turner v greg wooton for 63.5kg no1
danny taylor v jose from ko gym for no1 @ 59kg

it would be great to get an updated decent ranking system again so everyone knows a bench mark of who to try and beat to climb the ladder,it was great when the rankings were in fighters and combat every month.

this is my point, without regular updated rankings everyone is an "arguably" number 1,lets get it sorted properly in 2012 so craig and others all get the chance to prove themselves instead of promoters spending money on foreign opponents.

Wimbledon ChayYa is a monster i used to know him very well, he never did what he could in fighting (although does have wins over big thai names including buakaw already) due to him getting band from ever fighting in thailand because he "threw" a fight for the gamblers, him vs buakaw would be a great fight, wimbledon has the strongest clinch i have ever come across, he can land you on your head he also has a chin of granite which he says its impossible for him to be ko'd and iv never seen anyone take shots like him. square elbows on the chin and not flinch, i said wimbledon vs jordan would be a good fight a couple of years ago and some people laughed and said who is wimbledon, he would get murdered.

@ paulinthailand,

Yeh, Wimbledon is pretty hardcore, that's why I think he should spank Buakaw again. Very few westerners would be able to survive a couple of rounds with Wimbledon.

@ Sandy,
I'm just being silly about you Vs Paulo Tocha. FYI, he retired from fighting years ago, but he's from your era.
He was the fighter wearing Thai shorts in the movie Bloodsport.

i think jordan and the top 3 in the world are the only fighters that could beat him,his kicks are so heavy boxing is good but clinch is out of this world, he used to absolutly batter me but hes cool its a ruff game, he fought soren or preacher in oz and breezed it didnt get out of second gear and lost on point because he was being too lazy

Buakow hasn't lost since Souwer in '09. And he ain't ducking fights. He's got Giorgi in the Thai Fight finals this month, Dzhabar Akerov in January, and Pinca in March. He gets through all of them. Petrosyan beats Kyshenko in March. Buakow and Petrosyan need to fight again.

Jordan Watson vs Petroysan...

People might not agree, but if this fight was to happen today Petroysan would win.

Would like to see Jordan first take on and beat the likes of Souwer, Kraus, Cosmo then Petroysan.

Jordan's technically sound, but would be nice for him to get these superfights and be victorious. Just for confidence.

Hi Liam, do you think Jordan could make the switch over to K-1 successfully? With their been a huge focus on boxing, is Jordans good enough to trade with the likes of Kraus and Souwer? I am genuinely interested as to what you think.
Some massive fights out there for him at that weight.

Dang.

Didn't know it was even on, but shame it's cancelled.

I would love to see that fight and how their styles match up.
Hopefully, if it ever does happen, it'll be ref'd the same way thai fight and contender were; without excessive clinching.
It certainly wouldn't favor Kane if it was fought in Thailand, where they can spend an entire round clinching.

I agree.

It'd be great to see Jordan and others that are more so into strictly thai rules fights, get more into that circuit.

Considering how great of a fight Liam Vs Mohamed Khamal was, you'd have to imagine how spectacular the likes of Jordan Vs Chahid El Hadj, Mosab Amrani, Drago, Warren Stevelmanns etc, would be.

If we were to see that caliber of fight on a regular basis, referring again to Liam Vs Khamal, and they were getting regular broadcast/television exposure, it'd be hard to see how thai boxing would NOT gain mainstream attention.

If I was Jordan I'd stick with Muay Thai.

K-1 is kickboxing. I know many people on here cross train, but for pete's sake Muay Thai is it's own. If a fighter can compete in Boxing, K-1, MMA, and Muay Thai good for them. I think Jordan should just stick with Muay Thai.

I agree.

But yeah, I realize for Muay thai purists, they'll be reluctant to embrace the idea of one of their top fighters engaging in another rule set.

But the fact is, the most exciting fights now-a-days, really, are taking place under that banner.
That's just me talking, but that's how I feel.

Even the promotion "thai fight", which is coming straight from thailand, you can see their rules only allow limited clinching, shorter breaks between rounds etc.
Their embracing what they know will be the future; on the international level at least.

I guess it's very well to say, "I'll stick with my roots, and be loyal to Muay thai", but at the end of the end, the fact is, there's a far bigger future, or would be, for a guy like Jordan to take them kind of fights, against the likes of Drago etc, in them promotions, under them rules.

And when you think about it, in terms of skill and strength, Jordan's right there with the very best.
A couple weeks training under dutch style conditions to become accustomed to that style a little, and how much of an impact would he be making in them promotions?

There'd be a big future, and big money.

I'm not saying that's how it should be, but that's just my opinion.

@ Marco, your opinion is valid and I understand what you're saying. However, Muay Thai is about to take off. All it needs is some serious promoters and media coverage.

@ Rob, there are still places in the west where Muay Thai is almost illegal. Many states in America don't even allow Muay Thai. The sad thing is that MMA, Kickboxing, and Boxing is allowed, so it's obviously something political. Before anyone starts, you could fit three Englands in most of the States. Do the math when fuel costs are still high dollar. It's cheaper for me to fly to Thailand than it is to drive to the next state.

@ PaulinThailand, thanks for the encouragement. Keep up the good work m8. Let me know if Wimbledon is allowed to fight again, lol.
