K-1 World Tour Max FightSport Grand Prix - 21st September - with over 6,000 prize money!!!!
From
www.k-1.tv/
"K-1, in conjunction with Dan Green and Neil Holden, are proud to announce that one of our next stops in the K-1 World Tour will be in England on September 21st. The event will be held on September 21st at Parr Hall in Warrington, right outside of Manchester. There will be a one night tournament featuring some of the best and brightest from the UK’s 70kg weight class, with the fighters competing for the inaugural K-1 70kg UK Championship as well as a developmental contract with K-1.
The list of competitors is as follows;
Stuart Kemp (Tobins Gym)
Jake Barton (Elite)
Adrian Wedolowski (Grip house)
Soloman Wickstead (Franks Gym)
Kerrith Bhella (Firewalker)
Mike Egan (Next Gen)
Kristoffer Addis (Kao Loi)
Ben Hodge (Crawley Thaiboxing)
There will be more Super Fights on the card as well, featuring international talent like Paige Farrington and Joe McGovan. All of the fighters on the card will also be competing for a £1,000 Knockout of the Night bonus. So if you are in the Manchester area do not miss your opportunity to see K-1 in action on September 21st."
Yes that's right! The event on 21st September 2013 will now become an official K-1 Max World Tour event! Not only will there be over 6,000 pounds prize money on the line, Not only will the winner receive a belt, they will receive an official K-1 belt and an official contract for K-1 fights on larger events! This will give the guys fighting on the show some real exposure and opportunities to develop their careers abroad.
This will be the biggest chance this Autumn for UK fighters to break onto the big international stage. A lot of UK fighters out there say that they do/have done K-1 fights, that they are a K-1 Champion, but really they have only ever done K-1 Rules Kickboxing matches.
This is an incredible oportunity for the UK fighters, as you can truly be a K-1 fighter if you compete on an official K-1 event!
International fights and some top top domestic fights will also feature on the card. We still have a couple of slots available on the show so get in touch if you have fighters.
Stay tuned for more details...
Rumours that there will also be a huge K-1 arena event in the UK in 2014 cannot be commented on at present.
Good to see Mr Hodge back in action, when is the last time he fought?
great line up , put aslan bisayek from ireland in that group and wat tournament it should be,
He beat Soloman Wickstead just the other week jay
Looks like a solid event with genuine K-1 backing, congrats to all involved. I think the Soloman v Ben fight was a split decision in a very close fight with not all judges seeing it the same, will be nice rematch that if they draw eachother.
This is great news! Solid lineup for the tourny, looks ace. Looking forward to this

The list of tournament 'seeded' competitors is as follows...
1. Stuart Kemp (Tobins Gym)
2. Jake Barton (Elite)
3. Adrian Wedolowski (Grip house)
4. Soloman Wickstead (Franks Gym)
5. Kerrith Bhella (Firewalker)
6. Mike Egan (Next Gen)
7. Kristoffer Addis (Kao Loi)
8. Ben Hodge (Crawley Thaiboxing)
We are also brining to England a fantastic opportunity to four potential fighters that would like to earn their 'K-1' stripes.
The Grandprix ( 8 man ) requires two reserve bouts.
The first reserve bout should a place become available from the 1st Quarter-Final and the 2nd Quarter-Final bouts.
The second reserve bout is should a place become available for the 3rd Quarter-Final and the 4th Quarter-Final bout.
Basically, there are still four slots available with the two reserve bouts, should anyone wish to put their 70Kg fighter forward.
Reserve bouts are also eligable for the £1'000.00 best K.O. of the night.
Technically someone could take a single 3x3 mins 'K-1' bout, and walk away with £1'000.00!
Interested parties, ( gun-slingers willing to go for a shoot out ), please contact Danmuaythai@hotmail.com
'K-1 MAX England' Grandprix 2013 could be an opportunity of a lifetime!
There will be more Super Fights on the card as well should you have a talented fighter in a different weight class also looking to get his official 'K-1' stripe.
Currently we have 'K-1' superfights featuring international talent with Paige Farrington and Joe McGovan.
www.k-1.tv/2013/07/k-1-world-tour-heads-to-england-in-september/
Charlie Peters would have loved this but he has a broken hand from last outing (win)
Be good to get Chad on this as e is K-1's newest signing.
Chad fighting week before on K-1 Max last 16 event in Mallorca in a Super Fight. But will be in attendance watching with interest.
Will be a cracking event :-)
He should be in the 16 ;-)
no disrespect to any of the lads fighting on this tourney, but surley there are a few better fighters at 70kg?am guessing they must have contracts with another promo.
I think it's a very interesting line up. 8 mans don't always have to have the superstar names to make a good tournament.
hey i'm not bagging it out at all pal. just some other guys ahead those competing as i said no disrespect intended. would have been good to see sugden defend the title.
I think N Epps should re - enter, even though he has beaten 2 of the 8
Wedlowski VS Addis is a fight I've been wanting to see for a while. Both big string guys at that weight, both good in the clinch. Obviously this won't be showcased in K1 rules but still would be an epic fight.
Wedlowski , can sure fire from some mad angles, with various moves - axe kick comes to mind - I ve seen him perform it, and spining reverse heal kick - think K1 rules will favour Wedlowski if he meets Addis, and think he would chin all the others, Only one can see give him probs is Mr Hodge....has a nasty left kick, and has some ammo in his hands.. sure well a cool line up.....be good to see the draws, nearer the time,
I think this is a great line up a.hustler so even its hard to pick a favorite nvm a winner. Great job on this one by dan and neil
Kris addis to win I recon
Martin Goink still available . He has wins over two of the listed fighters .
Wedolowski is my favourite for this, the man is an animal! Also predict a turning back kick KO from him :)
G'day craig, as previously stated im not bagging the card out at all. Its a stacked division for sure, I have seen most of these lads at it and your bang on the money it will be a great night loads of great possibilities. I was only making a point a saying there are a few more cats who I would like to see involved that's all. For what its worth I would have liked to have seen you in it, you never done too bad up at the POS a few years back, lol.
International Superfights Announced:
Paige Farrington (Warrington Kickboxing Studio) vs Katia Pedrosa (Portugal)
Pedrosa is Portuguese champion and also the current IFMA Bronze Medallist. This will be an all action contest between two stylish hard hitting ladies!
Joe McGovan (SDF Sheffield) vs Bruno "Predator" Santos (Portugal)
This is the rematch with McGovan looking to avenge his previous loss!
How much does the winner get
Is Solomon out of the tournament now?
Were it not for the above post I would not mention it at all on a forum like this. however I had surgery last week (successful), have been coughing up blood/not sleeping properly for days and therefore as a result haven't been working on the show/posting regularly as I would have done. (it was no secret though either). Pat on the back for the sound promoter ethics though, you could have dropped me an email etc.
I will always, always try to keep lineups as current as possible and available to anyone.
We had planned to announce last week the 1st reserve bout which was to be Seb Long (2 Technical) vs Martin Goink (Ko Gym)
However both the first reserve fight fighters have now ended up in the tournament!
Upcoming young North West star Seb Long, who is trained by Paul Kaporwicz, replaces Soloman Wickstead who we have been informed can no longer make 70 kilos as he is a growing lad. Seb will be coming down to 70 kilos just for a chance to fight for the official K-1 Max England!
London's Martin Goink, trained by Bill Judd, replaces Stuart Kemp who is out with a shoulder injury from his last fight. Goink has tremendous KO power and has already beaten both Kerrith Bhella and Mike Egan. He makes an exciting addition to the mix!
The full tournament lineup competing for the prize money now stands as:
Adrian Wedolowski (Grip house)
Kristoffer Addis (Kao Loi)
Kerrith Bhella (Firewalker)
Martin Goink (Ko Gym)
Jake Barton (Elite)
Seb Long (2 Technical)
Mike Egan (Next Gen)
Ben Hodge (Crawley Thaiboxing)
We still have an open reserve slot if anyone is interested please get in touch. The K-1 show will give huge exposure to anyone on it and the reserves have a chance of actually ending up in the tournament as well!
Plus any reserves will be guaranteed to fight on what we have planned next year, which is going to be huge on both sides of the Atlantic.
Keep your hair on Dan, it was just a question as i saw earlier Solomon announced on another show and wondered what the case was, thats all, no dig at you. Not sure how you saw it that way either to be honest.
The show is looking great with a solid lineup, looking forward to it. Think Goink is a great addition, very strong lad, could be considered a favourite for it now
Okay thanks Phil. I have to hang on to what hair I can these days :)
Sam Wilson from london would be a good guy to have in this tourney
Looks like a SOLID tournament... Goink is a great addition.. if him and Bhella meet it will be fight of the night...

Definitely!
This shows the importance that reserve bouts have on a Grandprix Tournament, even at this early stage - several weeks prior.
Eight man tournaments actually require 10 to 12 participants.
We are hoping to give at least four U.K. fighters the opportunity of earning their stripes and becoming official 'K-1' fighters, by having two reserve bouts at the 'K-1 MAX England' Grandprix.
If anyone is interested in having their fighter take one of the reserve bout positions please contact Dan. If you are a fighter that would like to enter - then discuss this with your trainer, who can then contact Dan.
Additionally, something to consider, is that every fighter that competes on the show, has the potential to win the 'best K.O.' of the night £1'000.00' bonus. A reserve bout fighter could participate, compete 3x3's, go for a quick K.O. and walk away with quite a few pounds in the purse!
'K-1' is rising once again, only yesterday Baukaw signed for the promotion.
'GLORY' is expanding further into the U.S.A. market, now announcing Chicago and Newyork events in the coming months.
The International sport of Kickboxing is becoming very big business, competing on the 'K-1 MAX England' event could give a fighter some true life changing opportunities!
2 exciting other bouts on the card to announce:
Ben Abbot (SSJ Dojo) vs Kielo (Storm Gym)
One word to describe this fight - explosive, explosive, explosive! (okay that's 3).
The hard hitting Kielo is one exciting up coming talent and a Ringmasters Champion to boot!
Ben Abbott, trained by K-1 veteran Lee Hasdell, has actually fought in Japan and beaten former K-1 Max Japan champion Tashin Kohi in a Rings Superfight.
Paul Sudworth (Majestic Gym) vs Ben Baah (Storm Gym)
The Stylish Sudworth, trained by former K-1 Uk finalist Kevin Harper, will go upa gainst against Ben Baah who is famed for his fast pace and is trained by Amir Subasic.
We look forward to the challenge and may the best win :-)
Marcus Powell enters the K-1 Max England
Unfortuantely Jake Barton's injury, that prevented him fighting as planned in August, has persisted and now also keeps him out of the K-1 Max tournament.
Replacing Barton will be Super Fight Series tournament Champion and ISKA 4 Nations K-1 Rules Champion, Marcus Powell of Team Red Dragonz.
I will need approximately 40 tickets to start with please.
Looking forwards to this event!!
Congratulations NEIL & Dan.

They will be at Leigh Kickboxing Studio, tomorrow before 1pm.
Osu!
All received thanks :-)
I'll confirm our table requirements for next week.

Not long now!
Table booked! Can't wait :-)

21st September, The Parr Hall, Warrington...... K-1 officially returns to the U.K.
Who will be the one to capture this title belt - who will be the true legitimate 'K-1' England Champion and get the opportunity to represent our nation at the K-1 MAX Final 16 super show?
Joe McGovan vs Bruno Santos is till going ahead as planned - Joe is hungry for revenge!
Did Aslan win the Irish tournament?
Hi Amir,
We still have some fighters that are being added to the fightcard.
I am sure Dan will put a list out shortly.
At The Parr Hall over the years we have promoted several events featuring International bouts as the headline with a team of two or three English fighters facing foreign opposition.
As well I have promoted three Grandprix tournaments, with last years Parr Hall event headlining with the FIGHTSPORT Grandprix 8 man tournament. The winner of which gaining official K-1 opportunities. This event too was pretty special.
This year.... people get 'Two events in One!'
We have International bouts with an England Team facing a team from Portuagal
plus...
we have a Grandprix Tournament, with this Grandprix being the first official 'K-1' event in England for over half a decade!
To add further excitement for the audiences, we also have something that I think all U.K. promoters should also adopt. This being the
"£1'000.00 best Knockout of the night bonus"
- available to any and all of the 'K-1' fighters on the show.
Saturday 21st September 2013 - The Parr Hall - be sure to get your ticket!!!
Just asking, when/where was the last K-1 England event?
I think i found it, Pain & Glory in '07?
Yes Aslan Bisayev did win it mate
Far had, do you know the other results by any chance? Who was the runner up, and who made it through to the semi-finals?
Not long to go now - who does everyone predict as the winner?
Final tournament lineup:
Kerrith Bhella (Firewalker)
Marcus Powell (Red Dragonz)
Darren Chan (Super Kicks Gym)
Marc Evans (Russ Williams)
Martin Goink (KO Gym)
Seb Long (2 Technical)
Adrian Wedolowski (Griphouse)
Kristoffer Addis (Kao Loi)
interesting line-up, Long and Powell used to fighting at a higher weight,Wedolowski full of tricks, Addis is a real solid fighter and Goink can bang however with a good draw i can see Bhella causing a stir. Dont know much of the other two lads but looks a real open tourny
as Epps has been let down for the week after is there any chance we will see him on this?
And the winner is..... The fans... going to be a great tournament!

Gonna be a good show this, could be some really tasty fights depending on the draw. Would like to see Addis v Wedalowski or Goink v Bhella
Good luck, all, If I was not on holiday prior, and piled a few Lbs on!, I would of loved the opportunity you gave me, Thanks Steve & Dan
A very tasty draw in the end....

3) Kerrith Bhella (Firewalker) vs Martin Goink (KO Gym)

2) - one or the other, that draw, allows the others into the next round I think, big bet fight that one lol...
1) experience with Powell, be intresting to see his next round fight - Goink or Bella ?
I've watched Kriss over the last few weeks training, he's looking sharp, and fit. good look mate .
That should have said look good mate, been a long day
I've watched Kriss over the last few weeks training, he's looking sharp, and fit. good look mate .
been a long day that should read look good mate.
Well done Dan and Neil for pulling this show together... the tournament will be quality...
sorry confused i thought it was a random draw, how did goink choose bhella?
either way very tough opener, goink 3rd round ko for me
What happened to Darren Chan?
He is a very explosive technical fighter and could have put a spanner in the works for a lot of experienced guys and would have been a fair bet for KO of the night if on form.
Kerrith Bhella beats Kris Addis in the final after extra round.
(Addis drops Bhella in 2nd round for count)
What was the full results please
WOW...what a final and well deserved win via extra 4th round by Kerrith Behlla...:-)
Great show! Dan & Neil put together a superb tournament culminating in an epic final fight between Addis & Bhella.
Here's some pictures for you...

Bhella opening up with some digging body shots!

But in the second round, disaster for Bhella as Addis catches him flush with a perfect knee to the head!

The man from Wolves is stunned. Down, but not out!

Bhella fights back hard, but won't get that round back... Addis is clearly ahead at this point.

More of the same in the following round...

More of the same in the following round...

An extra round sees Bhellas work-rate outmatch Addis' despite the Yorkshireman calling Bhella on for more!

Show was class, loads of top fights and KOs! That final was absolutely insane!! Well done Dan & Neil, cant wait for the next one!!
Many thanks to Dan and Neil for putting together this great show... Oh how we need more quality K1 shows in this country!!!
The final was epic!!! Full credit to Kris and his team for fighting so well thru out the tournament... and thanks to those that supported Kerrith as he final broke thru from being a contender to being a worthy champion.. only down side is that he might have to fight with a lucky beard every fight...
How didnthe fights leading to the final go?
I was just about to ask Jobe doesn't he normally shave it off? Lol
Sounds like it was great success well done Dan and Neil!
Powell stopped Evans rnd 2
Addis beat Wedolowski pts
Bhella stopped Goink rnd 1
Javaid beat Long pts
Addis stopped Powell cant remember rnd
Bhella beat Javaid pts
Bhella beat Addis pts after extra round
Addis was really impressive, wasnt sure he'd make the transition from thai to K1 well but he was quality, great work rate and put his shots together really well
Can I take some credit for telling him not to shave? Lol well done keg, to come back from a big knock down to win says it all! Must be super chuffed Jobe
That beard keeps Bhella single which is good for his training so I am chuffed...
It was a great show and the final was absolutely amazing. So exciting.
Guys, just a quick heads up, I know a few of you have asked and are keen for the rest of the pictures, I'm working through the rest of the edit now. I'll whack some more highlights from all the other fights up tomorrow night for you. :) x
I got a pretty decent flying knee shot again! Who's the lucky fighter? Ha ha.
I posted this on facebook a few days ago.... It sums up my view of the evening...
Yesterday I said to my friend I will be glad to get some sleep on Sunday night... as i didn't sleep Friday night and I wasn't going to sleep Saturday night either... as I would either be too devastated or too excited from the English K1 Max tournament... my friend was a little shocked as this statement was a far cry from my usual Zen like ways... I explained to him that there are moments which can change lives... they dont happen very often.. and sometimes we don't realize them at the time.. but i recognized that this was one such moment for Kerrith Bhella and that a lack of sleep was only right in such events.... Last night Kerrith won three fights to capture the English K1 Championship.. and with it went from being a contender to becoming a worthy champion... and with it proved to himself that he could achieve childhood dreams which at times in his fighting career have seemed near by impossible... and with it proved to himself and others that with discipline and belief skies the limit.. The K1 tournament was won in truly epic style in a final fight which will stand long in the memory of all those fortunate to witness it first hand... neither fighters spirit was broken as both raised themselves to new heights in their careers... Kerrith had to drag himself off the floor in the second from Kris Addis's vicious knee attacks to the head... Kerrith was hurt but showed.. as champions do... the discipline and belief to hang in there when to all others the fight looks lost... Kerrith took the third round with some great boxing and deft defence altho Kris was far from beaten... the fight was a draw on the judges cards which in K1 means an extra round has to be fort.. in tournaments the final fight often can be found wanting as fighters are exhausted and injured from previous contests... but this one was different... such was the excitement of the crowd and the intensity of the battle one more round seemed more than fitting to settle this clash... in the 4th and final round Kerrith put on a masterful performance of boxing.. showing both power and elusiveness... Kris could only absorb Kegs blows as he was too exhausted to fire back with anything other than a defiant roar of spirit.. Last night a dream became reality.. cubs became lions.... In terms of my coaching I tell my fighters I want them to do only the things that are going to make them legends... Kerrith honoured those words last night...
A massive thank you must go to Kirkwood Walker for creating Firewalker... a place where such magical moments in peoples lives can be crafted...
A big thank you also to the Firewalker Crew who came and supported Kerrith... you guys are something else... really something else...
And also a special mention to Daniel Green and Neil Holden for promoting such quality K1 events in the UK.... Oh how we need quality K1 events in the UK for our fighters to achieve the greatness that lies within them... Peace....
Regis "The First" Sugden stepped in at 3.30 fri and took a fight 2 x weights above his normal fighting weight. Shame it was only a reserve fight but was an explosive performance against a much bigger opponent Nick Lynch from Storm who never stopped coming forward.
This fight was an official reserve fight for the 8 x man. What made his performance even more impressive was he fought and won in style 2 weeks earlier in a 4 x man K-1 tourn @ 66kg.
Congrats to all fighters involved it was exciting and the final was epic. Kerrith well done mate well deserved :-)
Dan & Neil great show enjoyed watching even though I had to get my track suit on for Regis fight lol.

Some more show highlights here, guys.
