I have only ever done really small shows in the past. This is the first time i will of done a show with A class fights, this would not of happened if it was not for the constant bullying from Glen Crosthwaite who encouraged me to start For The Glory and who is a partner in For The Glory.
For the Glory is not just about Mike Tobins Gym or shows. It is to be about Muay thai in general and trying to help move our sport forward. Anyone wanting to advertise their own shows on the For The Glory site can do so by contacting myself or Glen direct. Along with the work been done by Paul Hamilton and co with the UKMF and the work from Master Sken and Dan Green with ( MSA ) i believe this could be the year for Muay Thai we have talked of in the past.
Its a great pleasure to have the following gyms involved in the show, Dean Whites Gym Dewsbury, Bad Company Leeds, Bradford Thai Boxing, DBMT Darlington, Salford Thai Boxing, Master Skens MSA, Super Gym Manchester, Kaizen Scotland, Pegasus Leeds, Sapphire Liverpool, Majestyc,

Really looking forward to this. Can't wait to see Simon Crockford fight again, I think last time I saw you fight mate was when you won the British title at Leeds Grammar school :-)
Well here we go and would u believe it it's fookin snowing xx the Dutch have changed daitans opponent to the biggest 73 kg fighter I have ever seen ......... now I am nervous lol
Unbelievable performance from Daitan Jackson, knocked down twice in the first round, got up cleared his head, and finised his opponent in style who was unable to continue
Also unbelievable was the dutch fighter attemmpting to land a kick in some weird Sanchai / Bruce Lee combo by doing a full somersault with a downward kick, photo of that to follow too!
all the Dutch guys came to fight and all had this effective but predictable over hand right style going on. alex got clipped with it and had to clear his head before getting on with his job. a few well placed knees to the head had his opponent dazed and confused waving to stop the fight.
Daitans oponent had said he'd only had 7 fights and was expected to come out milling wildly. Not as bad as expected but those bloody over hand rights were finding their mark with frightening regularity. I was forced to phone daitan after the event and repeat my initial comments.....what a come back. truly heroic. It was the third round by the time daitans game plan began to come good when some well timed low kicks stopped the contest. im thinking it looked as though his opponants knee cap had issues ouch!
earlier in the night. nuff said jonny versus piotr. great win for jonny. he did everything right to piotr doing every thing wrong.

Congratulation to Mike, Glen and FOR THE GLORY TEAM.I know how stress it can be to organise the show.It was excellent show and thanks to your team(everyone) to give us a such personal warm welcome.
It was a good fight for Seb and Ben,considering it was both second fights.I couldn't hear my own voice as the Mike Tobin's Army was so much noisey of cheering for Ben.Great show. All the best.
Big Congratulation to all trainers and fighters, especially to Dave and Alex.Alex-keep your chin down, kept to the game plan and a victory at the end, welldone.
Thanks for having us dwn brilliant show...was disgusted by daves behaviour after his fight with phil and he will no longer be fighting for my gym again,on a brighter note adam performed well sticking to the gameplan to win against a tough sam clay and has much improved since his last fight.....great fights great venue and all in all a good weekend
Excellent venue, super organisation and heartfelt support from the crowd but, apart from the exceptional comeback highlighted above, as a neutral I came away feeling that there was a bit of quality lacking in the ring. I for one was disappointed in the fact that the big name was incapacitated (part and parcel of the game)but more so that a couple of the Dutch fighters didn't seem to display much heart.
Amassive thank you to everyone who supported us with the show. Fighters, Trainers, UKMF officials, Commentators and everyone else who helped out, far too many to mention. Was an excellent show all round with an electric atmosphere, Something we need to replicate at the MEN arena in March.
Hiheyhello, Yes there were a couple like that, me for one though was glad Stuarts opponent retired, he came out throwing big bombs and caught Stuart twice knocking him down. Luckily Stuart got up showed great heart and won the fight. Spoke with Terence de Bye after and his trainer and he had apparently had 13 fights 13 wins 9 KO. Also heard the trainer of Daitans opponent say he was not worried about Daitans greater experience as his fighter had 7 fights 7 KOs. He also nearly knocked Daitan out in the first round. Maybe they were disheartened after not getting the 1st round knockouts they were looking for.
Pretty sure it was either the first overhead kick or the follow up jumping front kick that cut Lee. Didn't look to be much of a cut at all, until I saw him afterwards with the Frankenstitches in his forehead!
Was a great show all round just had a couple of niggles here and there, but more to do with a couple of d*ck heads that had had too much to drink rather than anything to do with the show.
Was gutted for Si Crockford, such a nice bloke who had driven back from Scotland over night where he cornered for Chris Wray on Saturday. Not ideal fight preparation but being the sort of bloke he is he'd have rather Chris'd won than himself
quality show with great atmosphere, some cracking fights, gutted for leroy not sure if it was from a clash of heads or soemthing?? well impressed with the heart of stuart kemp and dailton jackson especially!! those dutch guys were mental and all had big boxing but as said earlier didnt want to know if the other guy got up and hit them back! Fair play to simon crockford if he was up in scotland cornering the other night!
One that caught mine was Dale White on cornerman duty, throwing his hips instinctively into the knees his fighter was delivering in the ring. Quality fighter.
