He fought at 79Kg on Sunday.
Can't remember what his first fight was at, but he's gradually reduced his muscle mass, got abit leaner and now fights at the 79/80Kg mark. The weight for this upcoming show will probally be about that same mark - not 100% sure though.

Anyway, it should be a good show, and if you haven't got tickets please hurry as the show is reaching sell out. The Bay is a good venue so only fitting it should have good fights on the night and I'm sure everyone that's competeing will try to put on a good show.

Was looking forward to seeing fatboy Hain fighting Guy, pity that wont happen now :-( In my opinion that would be a better fight than the Guy Vs Thrasher fight.

It's a Scots thing mate, they don't call themselves by the name they are christened with.....lol There are many examples, some of which are not even similiar to their "proper" name.

james graham asked me to post to sort out what's happening r.e me, aaron, gordon smith, andy thrasher etc. I apologise if it comes over a little defensively. I agreed to fight aaron on james show at the same time as fighting andy was first mooted. Having had several fights pulled this year, i agreed to both matches. I have only pulled out of james' because a)i could offer a credible replacement - gordon smith, who everybody knows is an able fighter and a hell of a tough lad, and b) i'm injured. If i hadn't had gordon's support i would still have fought. It would, like aaron, be his first full rules fight. I am still fighting on pele's because i would not ask any of my students to step up to the level of andy thrasher. As i understand it, aaron has been suffering badly from cold/flu, so gordon has been matched with jamie henderson. I realise there maybe some people questioning my judgement on taking two fights in such close proximity, however full rules muay thai is a different beast, with a greater selection of strategies and weapons than b or c class. I have fought injured before, as most fighters will have done at some stage. Anybody who knows our fighters and our camp will know that i do not treat this sport lightly, and it is with regret that i have withdrawn from james show. If anybody feels they need to speak to me about this, i'll see you at the show. peace.

AFTER HAVING SEVERAL FIGHTS PULLED THIS YEAR IS NO REASON FOR TAKING TWO FIGHTS AT SUCH CLOSE DATES AND BOTH FULL RULES SEEMS TO ME YOU HAD NO INTENSION OF FIGHTING BOOTH .AND I WAS TOLD YOU WERE NOT FIGHTING ME DUE TO A BROKEN RIB THEN YOU SAY YOUR FIGHTING A WEEK LATER THINK YOUR A BIT FULL OF BULL SHIT
Briancal
Posted: 2005-11-08 05:54:41
You're having a laugh aren't you ??? what gives YOU the right to come on here and slag off our instructor ??? You have said that "AFTER HAVING SEVERAL FIGHTS PULLED THIS YEAR" So tell me then, what fights were pulled and who were they against ??? and also WHO pulled out of those fights ??? I'll leave it to you to answer those questions as WE know the answers. And Mr.Guy Ramsay is not full of shit, get you're facts right before you start slagging him off. Everyone knows he is a gentleman, end of.

YES I DID PULL OUT OF THOSE FIGHTS WITH GUY. HOWEVER SEEMS A BIT STRANGE THAT HE PHONES TO CONFIRM FIGHT THEN IM TOLD HE IS FIGHTING ON ANOTHER SHOW TO WICH HE REPLYS HE IS NOT AND WILL BE FIGHTING ME THEN HE PULLS OUT OF THE FIGHT WITH A BROKEN RIB OFFERS ANOTHER FIGHTER THEN IS WELL ENOUGH TO BE FIGHTING A WEEK LATER
WELL I WISH HIM ALL THE BEST HE IS GOING TO NEED IT FIGHTING WITH BROKEN RIB?

I thought that had been explained by Guy in his post? He's currently injured and if he had a suitable replacement he would be sending them to Beastmasters but as it happens he doesn't and therefore has to fight himself.
Aaron, you have previously pulled out of fights in the past, a decision I believe you didn’t take lightly, how would you have felt if after putting up a public explanation you were criticised by your former opponent?
I’ve known Guy for the best part of ten years and this is the 1st time I’ve known him to pull out of a fight, I fully believe that if Guy had not been injured he would have been competing on both shows such is his passion and commitment to the sport.
StephenCaledonian
Posted: 2005-11-08 10:01:19
think your comment is out of order aaron. guy has been lined up to fight you several times in the past only for you to pull out at the last minute, and this affects him financially as he has had to reject good oppertunities to fight down south for good money because he was lined up to fight you. so i think after a number of pull outs he is quite right to guard himself against further financial loss by arranging to fight thrasher in what will no doubt be an excellent fight. you were given the oppertunity to fight someone else so your training had not gone to waste (a luxury guy was not afforded previously) but you turned it down. so coming on a public forum complaining with your caps lock on! is maybe not the best thing to do, after being known to pull out of fights yourself.
jarvie
Posted: 2005-11-08 10:19:31
guy is a gentleman and as i understand a great instructor and am sure he found it hard to let james down! but he has to do the right thing for himself which all fighters have to! i myself would find it a little bit of an insult for my opponent to take fights a week apart! am just annoyed cause i've been looking forward to this fight for ages now "maybe one day"
i wish guy all the best in his fight with andy
stevie nisbet
Posted: 2005-11-08 10:38:13
as angry as you may be aaron, i thik youve judged guy a little too harsh, he explained his reasons fair enough and did supply a suitable replacement, Briancal, this is a discussion board aaron has the right to say what he wants even if he is wrong, good luck to both fighters anyway and ill look forward to aaron fighting on saturday and wish i was thier for guys fight.

Briancal!!! read back the first thing i said was that aarons opinion was wrong, i agree with steven caledonian, he was spot on, i dissagree that aaron should not be allowed to voice his opinion, and while you dont want to allow aarron to make that opinion you say " anyway I don't give a shit what you say, I'll say what I want when I want," which is excactly what Aaron has done.
thiers always debate on ax some more heated than others , its not quite "cricket" to come on and SHOUT IN CAPS but he does have the same right as we all have to voice his opinion.

fair play rab all i was saying is YES edwards has been in there with top guys eg trainor, howson, crooke not to mention the likes of top fighters in the 90s aswell and stopped by most i dont think you are as in the same league as them so if edwards cant beat you i dont think he has a hope against ness who i also believe is a stronger fighter than you are.
Muaythai King
Posted: 2005-11-12 06:12:07
Rab I wasn't 58 - not been 58 since my second fight. Secondly you forgot to mention that I took the fight on an hours notice, and without having trained. So don't go making out that you were the subject to an unfair situation - it was your lot that asked for me when I was intending on just viewing that particular show.

Anyway.....

After hearing that Dave has been in with the likes of Reece, Howson etc like GB says then I don't want to go under-estimating him. Never done that with anyone really so I aint going to start now. It's Full Rules so anything can happen. Dave is a game guy who comes to fight, and often takes his fights at last minute too. Hence the Martini Dave nickname - anytime, anywhere....lol

Sounded like a great show. Congratulations to all the fighters. Will there be a dvd?

thaikiller - easy to troll in anonymity. truly a classless post.

My thoughts exactley mate, but I couldn't think of such a nice way to put it like you did....lol And yes there will be a DVD for the show. When they will be ready is another question though. Won't be for a few weeks, so if you want one get in touch with James Graham at mail@fightingfitgym.co.uk and he'll sort you out - eventually.

Thanks.

I don`t know who Thaikiller is but your always going to get posts like this on a public forum. The rest of the Scottish Muay Thai community should treat it whith the contempt it deserves and offer up a dignified silence!!Anybody who posts without being willing to reveal their true identity should be ignored totally, as they are only interested in stirring up arguements in the hope that someone will take the bait!!

Ignore these eejits and respect to all who fight and coach and officiate in Scottish Muay Thai it`s your opinions that count.

well im amazed at stevie nisbet, wasnt it u who first rushed to Aaron27s defense sayin he was entitled to his opinion. it seems then that im entitled to mine. MTK frankly i dont give a damn what you think of me your the one who is spitting the dummy and throwing a tantrum that makes YOU the "fucking knob". i have simply stated what i feel and no doubt what a few others have been thinking but wont say. so you can all rush to her defense but all in all there are those of you who think EXACTLY the same as me. this is a forum. im entitled to an opinion and im not tryin to stir the shit im simply making a point perhaps it should be open for discussion. was this a result a long time coming!!?? since this is after all a discussion board.

thai killer, i cant dand wont deny you the right to your opinion, i didnt rush to aarons side in fact the first thing i said was that he was wrong. i might also point out that aaron is man enough to put his name behind his posts, you however i have never heard of on this site come on and insult a fighter, yes you are entitled to an oppinion, but maybe youd like to explain it,

Thaikiller, I don’t think to many people will want to debate with you over this, as your 1st post comes across as a vicious character attack on a fighter who has the respect and friendship of the entire Scottish MT community. You’re quite correct when you say you’re entitled to your opinion BUT you should be able to make your point without being so grievously nasty with it.

Congratulations and commiserations to all involved. Due to illness I was not able to get to the show, but by all accounts it was a cracker.

Thaikiller, your remarks have both troubled and saddened me. Yes you are entitled to your opinion, and Yes you are entitled to voice that opinion in an open forum. I have to question the maturity and desireability of your remarks, however.

Are you Scottish? If you are, then you're a disgrace to the Saltire!

Every one of our home fighters needs this nation behind them 100%.
The Scots are one of the great fighting races of the world.

No-one needs to be taken down a peg. What they need is positive support from us all.

There is another topic which asks the reasons for poor USA fighters.
NEWSFLASH!!! That may be the case just now, but give the USA a very few years and they will be competing, and winning at the highest level.
That comes from their mentality. Anyone with a grain of talent in the States is nurtured and supported to realise their true potential.

Sadly we in the UK are more interested in mocking and destroying talent.

This is not a Scottish trait, however. Time to get back to our natural values.

My advice Thaikiller.......Shape up, and sort your attitude.

MTK i dont know who your refering to but you need to sort out your greivance with this person and whatever they owe you. clearly my comments are not welcome i have read MTMs response on the other thread and am more impressed with her response than yours maybe i have judged her to harshly, however my opinion still stands and ill leave it at that

Good question MTK!

Something tells me it won't be answered though.
With any luck Thaikiller will disappear like a fart on a windy Scottish hillside.

Oh, and one more thing Thaikiller. Have you considered how much girls like Michelle and Louise bring to Scottish Muay Thai?

How many young girls see them training and competing and then get involved themselves?
Quality girls, both of them, and true ambassadors for their gyms, their sport, and for Scotland.
