David Haye will defend his World Heavyweight title against bitter rival Audley Harrison live on Sky Box Office HD.

The WBA champion has confirmed that he will make a voluntary defence of his belt at the MEN Arena, Manchester, on Saturday, November 13.

It will mean renewing rivalries with one-time friend Harrison, who has spent the last six months calling the Hayemaker out.

Harrison is number 13 in the WBA's rankings but has jumped the queue on the back of his sensational European title win, in which he knocked Michael Sprott out in the final round.

Even before that, the 2000 Olympic gold medallist has been chasing a domestic showdown with Haye, the pair having fallen out several years ago after a row over undercards.

Harrison says he let Haye fight on one of his, only to see the compliment go unreturned - and has let the world know exactly what he thinks.

The bitter fall-out will add fuel to the fire ahead of a landmark clash for British boxing

"At one stage I had a lot of respect for Audley, but over the years that respect has turned to disdain," said Haye.

"It's now time for me to go out there and close the Audley Harrison show once and for all. Audley's a big name, but he's known as a boxer that people want to see get destroyed. The public want to see one final high-profile destruction of Audley Harrison, and I'm only too happy to do my duty for the British people."

Harrison, said: "David Haye and the boxing world will be in for a shock on November 13. I told Sky Sports in 2009, that destiny would bring me and David in the ring together. Haye rubbished it and so did the boxing world.

"I've said it many times that I will be a world champion before I retire and now I get the chance to fulfil my destiny in boxing. So go ahead, write me off but I can't wait for the day when A Force Harrison, destroys Mr Haye. Yes I can."

This will be the first time in 17 years that two Britons have contested the world heavyweight title. Back in 1993 Lennox Lewis successfully defended his WBC strap against Frank Bruno at Cardiff Arms Park in Wales.

This will be Haye's second defence of the belt he won against Nikolai Valuev a year ago, following his impressive nine-round destruction of John Ruiz in April.

It means a unification showdown with either WBO and IBF king Wladimir Klitschko or his brother and WBC boss Vitali will have to wait until 2011 at the earliest.

Paul-in-T .... with heavyweights there's always the chance of that big punch landing, (just look at Bruno-Tyson), but its whether they have the instinct to capitalise on the moment.
I hope it doesn't happen for AH as I think there's more mileage, and without a doubt more heart, with Haye.
I dont think the heavyweight division has been at all interesting since Lewis and Hollyfield (at their best )fell off the scene. Barring the obvious top name heavyweights, I've always preferred watching the lower weights fight anyhow. My all-time favourite domestic fighter being Nigel Benn, closely followed by Hatton, both of whom I've had the privelege of meeting. Yes, they both have losses and haven't fully done 'A Calzaghe', but there's no questioning their heart.
PS .... Hatton is one of the funniest men i've ever met. What a down to earth geezer he really is. Couldn't believe Benn is now a preacher living in Majorca, nearly walked right past him as he is bald-headed and not as I imagined him to be. Lvely bloke though.

Used to be that you saw highlights of up and comers like Benn and Eubank on Sportsnight and Midweek Sports Special, when they were fighting in front of 200 people on a Tuesday night.

You then started to follow their career and their results from the titbits that were shown, until they finally made it big, and you really had an affinity with them at that point.

Now someone in their first Pro fight has a fooking live show on Sky put on for them, it`s just shit to be honest.

I agree there's no 1 big star since hatton really but I think its harsh to say its shit lol. There's lots of talent coming through and shows like the magnificent 7 mean u don't need 1 big star. that said I think nathan cleverly will become 1 on the back of his performance on that bill. But as a whole british boxing is booming in my opinion. Carl Froch shud b massive but been unlucky with tv n stuff but he's never in a dull fite, amir khan, love him or hate him, is fightin a gud fighter finally and promising to unify after, (if he wins) in the next month 3 british heavyweights r taking part in 'world' heavyweight title contests, then uve got the likes of kell brook, george groves and many others heading the nxt generation. I evn think the domestic british heavyweight scene is the healthiest its been in years.

The problem is almost all the above r only known to hardcore fans, sky is doing gud things moving to saturday fight night and bringing back ringside but at 60 quid a month not evry1 has sky. Fighters also have managers and back room staff who pick and plot their career path carefully... it's how they make their money!! they determine when a fighter is ready for such and such an opponent. Build a fighter up, give him steadily increasing tests, build up his profile and then when thats at a peak you can start to make the mega money fights.
