In light of the recent thread about Ronnie Clark boxing and risking a bbbc ban if he fights any other discipline is Marlon nit running the same risk?

Read somewhere he has his first pro boxing fight soon and surely that signals the end if his FC/K1 career!!

Just curious

Dean- Marlon is doing Pro white collar boxing, Didnt even know it existed but this is what he is fighting so he would not come under the same rules as ronnie.

Out of interest what is pro white collar boxing? :S have the got a divide in this now, Went and seen a few white collar boxing shows in scotland and they are terrible, full of mismatches, no class at all, just swinging for the fences in hope of landing a lucky punch, im hoping marlon is not put in the ring with a novice :)
mr roundhouse
Posted: 2011-08-29 19:08:31
Pro White collar is amazing it includes awesome techniques such as the windmill and handbag punchs. I think marlon will beat on the manager of the local asda just great maybe even get a chance to become pro toys r us world champ. What a true hero.
Farhad

I thought Marlon Vs Jamie Bates was FC Rulees???

PRO White collar boxing? Dont you mean "independent" or unlicensed boxing?
Red Phoenix Academy

The wonders of ax forum lol
No wonder no one posts on ax forum anymore.

Mr roundhouse you write very similar to farhad when he has a rant lol.
Maybe you should get a real profile or moderators should check your isp address.
Since you've started commenting its just been negative so obviously you have a problem with me lol.
As for me fighting managers from Asda lol my last win this weekend was vs galore bonsando at -80kg who fights in Ucmma.
Also trying to get matched up with in a k1 bout vs Llyndon knowles.

Farhad me and bates is fullcontact at -83kg

White collar is just a name for unlicensed boxing.
As said before Im not going through bboc as they wont let me fight in any other sport.

Also not fighting novices where people would get that idea from i don't know.
Will be fighting boxers with similar fight record as my fight record in fc and k1
Keeping myself busy in unlicensed boxing, K1 and mma, as its very hard to get fights in UK cause people just simply avoid me.

ActionPromo's
Posted: 2011-08-30 02:24:31
Just to clarify - i run unlicensed boxing shows that we refer to as 'semi-pro' - it's this because fighters earn a purse yet they don't dedicate themselves to training and make a living out of it like pro's (mostly) do. 'White Collar' to myself, again is unlicensed, but often has big gloves and head-gear on to ensure more safety. These are where you get your casual bloke/lady having a bit of training and just getting in it for the hell of it. Big difference in my opinion. However, both are un-regulated by either ABA or BBBoC.

Congratulation on the win Marlon.

Red Phoenix Academy
Posted: 2011-08-30 02:51:01
Im fighting unlicensed boxing.
No headguards, 10 oz gloves with fighters with similar records.
Im not going to get licensed through bboc as they WONT let me fight in any other sport.
Sorry but fighting with kicks is my 1st love and doing it to keep me busy in uk.
Hope that clears it up :)

Posted: 2011-08-30 04:17:04
Marlon-I think your a great fighter but up in scotland the reputation for it is not great. Its well known for mismatches etc but could be ran better in England. Im not sure on the rules but didnt sean bowman who fought from touchgloves not need to give up FC for wc boxing?
Red Phoenix Academy
Posted: 2011-08-30 04:42:21
Hey jamie.
The unlicensed is run pretty good here with loads of shows.
And fights will be vs fighters with similar records not vs novices. Lol
Its true if you go through bboc you have to stop but if they say it in unlicensed boxing that i have to stop doing the other sports then i just wont box simple :)
mr roundhouse
Posted: 2011-08-30 06:28:05
No problem with you at all just wonder why a super star like you would lower him self to pub brawl boxing
ActionPromo's
Posted: 2011-08-30 08:16:36
With unlicensed boxing it comes down to the promoter and how well they match-make. Simple.

I've been to shows where it's been shocking - 2 stones difference in weight, one who's only boxed twice against a fighter with 13 bouts. On the other hand i've seen lots of great matched fighters. My last show didn't have one stoppage because we matched so well and crowd loved it.

Mr Roundhouse - what are you basing that on? Where are you from and chances are i know the local promoters. There's a certain northern based 'boxing federation' out there that specialise in matching the local hard-nut in fights that they will win - they do this to get repreat custom from fans. STAY AWAY from these types of federations.

ActionPromo's
Posted: 2011-08-30 08:21:50
The promoter's i'd recommend are:-

Liverpool
Sean Aldright - EBO
Mike Philips (Wirral) - BBU

Manchester
The Murry's Urmston Boxing - BMBO but work with everyone
UK Boxing Association also

Midlands
Pete Jackson's BBU

Other good promoters include:- Ricky English, Billy Bessey, Steve Yorath, Steff Harrison, Jimmy Johnson, Paddy Teehan, Golden Gloves, Sam Kynoch, and various other.... As long as you declare your experience these will get you matched fairly.

We all know you like to stir and its people like you that have spoilt ax forum and why all the big names in the sport dont post anymore which I think is probably a good idea.

Where are you fighting MMA marlon, which rules would you prefer us to fight under?

I think we both agree were miles ahead of the rest of the Uk. And now ive proved myself on the world stage with Enfusion fighting you early next year is priority (besides the Its Showtime fights).

In recent history you were robbed abroad, I was robbed abroad.

Besides that Ive had uncountable KO's in a row without a single points victory, all knockouts.

You have always won too.

Chris Podesta,
I spoke to the paramedics and they have released information regards to Shaun Lomas that he has been medically suspended for 90 days after his KO loss to Joe McGovan on the 4th of September.

To Pete and Marlon,
Mr Roundhouse is not me , sorry to dissapoint you both. It is clear he is one of the "unhealthy obsession with the word KRU" Brigade.

Farhad, no offence mate but please don't hijack my thread with the whole 'Ban Lomas' argument. I am trying to build a little promotion for the show, not to crusade against anyone. And s i told you on the phone, i will not jump on the bandwagon of banning Shaun Lomas as it's not up to me it's up to the 'body' to do as they please.

2pm til 9pm ish. Boxing is pretty much all 3/4 x2min. We aim to rattle off the first section quite quickly one after the other.
Its all one show so yes we'll be pushed for time but we've worked out a reasonable estimation of time + running order. Also there's guaranteed to be pull outs between now and then.

Well Done again to Jamie Bates from all at Fusion Fight Club. Awesome performance keeping Marlon at bay and he couldn't get to grips with Jamie's reach! Was super impressed with James Watling knocking out Forde! IMO Watling is up there with your Tate, Bates and Hunt and deserves more recognition! Great show all in all, just a bit long. I've also seen 5 mins ring time collectively in Ryan Lyalls last 4 fights haha, with the last 3 coming in the first round. This man is here to stay!

It was a great show some excellent fights the hunt vs bates fight was great well done to Jamie, but i bet marlon will come back even stronger as they say you can learn more from a loss than a win.

It was a long show but very entertaining..

well done action promo

Thanks to everyone that made the show happen it was a great turn out and some fantastic performances... We had a few issues behind the seens which thankfully, with a little understanding and co-operation from the camps, allowed the show to go on. Would like to particularly thank Shaun Forde's and Ryan Lyall's camp as their was a weight issue but they showed great sportsmanship and fought on, so thank you. Also Dean Sugden and his top boxer Fergus, who's opponent didn't show but found a replacement on the night... Not ideal probs to have but will learn from these mistakes.

On the positives; Wow! Congratulations to all the winners, was some great battles. Will try to get all the results up as soon as I can.

Congratulations to Jamie and agree Marlon will come back stronger and all sounds like a great night - congratulations to the Promoter as well!

Now, where does this leave Tate?! He beat Jamie who beat Marlon and Watling...maybe Jamie re-match should be arranged to get it right who is the best in the country again but with Tate's foreign commitments unless the purse is right I can not see it happen - The money in the UK fight industry is 3rd World Country income style!!

Once again congratulations to all that fought...:-)

Sounds like a great show, top fighters on the bill!

Is Ryan lyall 67kg? If so, Suky shoria fight?

There seems to be real "competition" between Hunt-Bates-Tate, looking forward to future fights, i'll be honest i thought Marlon would beat Jamie, so fair play jamie!

no competition as such mate they are all still young and up and coming and doing very well in the UK and on the World scene - every single one of of them!

Hunt for a very long time leading the pack and still fighting very strongly in all styles (FC-K1), Jamie was Amateur World Champion a few times and now is Professional World Champion himself...Tate pro World Champion as well!

I am glad ALL three do so well - speaks about the quality of FC in this country and the teams/coaches behind them as well as promoters for putting the fights on etc.

The same at lighter rounds, the pool of fighters is so good and I too look forward watching the UK go from strength to strength :-)

Throw Ashley Collins name in there aswel I'd say, he was top of amateur game and u cud say he's inexperienced as a pro but the top amateurs are entering the pro's at a high level at the minute. And with Watling stopping Forde, who's no pushover, there's an exciting division there.

Ryans Lyall's fight was at -70kg last night Dan

indeed for Ashley...good school, good gym, good coach and good progress and in the Top mix!
Agree for Watling, he is old school - very experienced.

Same for Marlon and Forde...all in the mix mate in my oppinion - and there is Scott Gibson too.

WOW so many :-)

Taylor lad, injuries happen. Was so hyped up for the fight but would be no good to you beating me if I was less than 100%. I'm sure the match could be rescheduled when I'm back fit man. Well done on the win.

Heard Ryan Lyall was top drawer, yet again. This boy is going all the way. Who out there is going to stop him ???? Giving away 2K to a respected fighter and still stopping him in 69 secs. Amazing !!!

Marlon, what is your take on this fight ???? From what i hear from folk that were there you lost convincingly. You are usually quite happy to voice your opinion on AX. No disrespect in any way.
