The next fight to be announced is Stevie Brown v Hamza Essalih. Hamza fight's out of Mosab Amrani's gym, (Team Amrani, Holland) and is undefeated 19 and 0 and is a young and up and coming fighter so this will be a great fight with Stevie being a very exciting and dangerous fighter....
you need any welsh warriors I got Steven Jimpy John 60-62.5 A/B class, Shaun Facey 69-71 A class, Charles Sikwa 81-88 A class, maybe Ameen between 63-67 a class( depends on uni commitment)
expect fireworks in the imeson vs primrose fight...was up in scotland last week and about 6 scottish fighters all offered luke 50quid KO/stoppage bonus so im pretty sure that fight will be insane
that chris shaw just fought my mate and murdered him in 1 round, now i see hes fighting panicos no wonder he slaughtered my mate! a serious missmatch if hes fighting guys like panicos then fighting my mate with 10 fights!
Pans giving him a shot i think paul,
He has a high KO ratio but not many fights and i think Stevie B has stopped him ,
He's talented , though i think he's a cock ,
Pan will take him to school
i think hes a dick to cos he beat my mate up bad other than that hes got a nice hair cut and i could imagine he does press up and sit ups to keep his body that firm! and i bet hes a good dancer
Yea u hit a nerve, youv known jonno years and know he is a sound lad and wouldn't just call someone for no reason but yet u feel the need to try and defend someone who your hardly know? Says a lot about you liam
bit out of order i thought a pro fighter coming on and calling another pro fighter a cock so thought i best stick up for the kid when iv never seen anything other than a nice kid...same i would for jonno...this must be personal??

had he beaten fighters like Rung, Praphet, Josh P ?
Rung having more than 30ko's and more than 300 fights alone i think it's more who they've fought,
But we will see. The fact chris beat a good fighter doesn't mean you are allowed to be cheeky to a fighter of Pans caliber,
Maybe you should go back to school and realise that because Chris is good doesn't mean it will be no problem for him with pan, thats just a foolish comment
the fact i think he might be a cock cannot be foolish, that's personal opinion, not a solid fact like the stats of Panicos and Chris.
You can't be foolish when stating a personal opinion on something that is completely ambiguous and stated on personal experience,
You can be foolish when it comes to something that is fact.
Especially if your opinion is contrary to fact and still guarded and protected as opinion,
4+4 = 8 no matter anyones opinion,
Saying you don't believe Wayne Rooney is a nice guy is preference,
Saying 9/11 was bad is fact,
Huge different, Pragmatics and Semantics,
I do think Chris is good, I do think Pan is a level above anybody he's fought, But back on thread, alot of good fights on and that one is generating alot of debate , that is always a good thing for our sport,
The best man will win, wish i could get down to watch and whoever is near and doesn't is missing out
pan , pan was schooling him , end of the second they touched gloves then shaw sniped pan and got DQ. Word of mouth but i'm glad i'm fighting him soon after that.
Panicos won by disqualification end of round 2, I was sat right next to the ring and the punch was 100% after the bell but panicos wasn't schooling him up to then, chris shaw is big for that weight and looks strong but was too early to say who would have won, panicos did have a few real nice twists and kicks though.................first time I ve spoke to either guy and they are both real sound guys with great attitudes.
Wouldnt say it was intentional! Dnt think he heard the bell! Plus was committed to the combo and heat of the moment etc has to take part in it! Adrenaline runnin through the body
ha ha it was aimed at john so calm down, not everything concerns you.the corner men thread is finished so ill think of something else soon but ill run it by you 1st to see if its ok.
That may be how YOU see it john but your just being disrespectful! So I suggest you keep your truths to yourself before you get told some home truths mate
I think 'heat of the moment' is the most accurate way to describe last night.
I don't know Panicos or Chris personally but have introduced both of them on several shows and the both appear to be really good lads, of course great fighters but just sound too. Sorry Jonno, and this is just my experience but I've never seen evidence of either guy being or acting like a ock.
Rnd 1 was tight, If Panicos has underestimated Shaw at all then by the end of Rnd1, he knew he was in a fight...brilliant opener and I reckon was setting the tone for a great contest.
Rnd 2, I felt Panicos was beginning to find range and I feared he may have igured out a way to open a margin on scoring criteria...as Davy said above, some really nice twists out of the clinch with lightening fast kicks. However Chris maintained composure, held a solid guard and looked dangerous.
End of the round, and the bell is rung. My position ringside was next to the time keeper who smacked the bell more than once. I would estimate that the punch was thrown 2secs after bell...on a video replay (on someones phone) the ref actually moved to step between them BEFORE the punch was thrown. Ref consulted with timekeeper and three judges all of whom confirmed that it was a late blow. No alternative but to DQ Chris.
Shame though, the fans were on the edge of their seats as this was shaping up to be a thriller. I really hope that a re-match can be made and I understand Liam Robinson (Panicos' trainer) has already agreed to this.
As an aside to the controversy of above...the Dutch lad who fought Stevie B was VERY dangerous, apparently only 17yrs old too, I predict a big future for him.
BRILLIANT to see Paul Kelly back at his best, one of my favourite people in the sport...a stoppage win over the hugely talented Robin Downer earlier this year and another sopage win over Nathan Ghundoo last night...GREAT STUFF!
another well run, well attended show from Brian Calder...started about half six, finished about eleven...well done Brian and team!
I said it in the heat of the moment from my experience, I have spoken to him only a few times. He may be a dead nice guy. Bit of banter bit of rivalry, who takes these things seriously. Nice post dougie, I think we should all let this simmer down now :) I'm in Leeds next week John so we can talk then if you're there? Sounds like a good show gutted and elated for pan
Lets all leave it now boys , even you Paul Peters, i aint backtracking just trying to calm it all down ,
back to the thread,
Ax gets the best of us all sometimes but we've all known eachother years and I think other things hold us all down enough for us to be,
We even got Doc mad and no one wants a left hand from him, trust me haha,
And Re. Me calling Chris Shaw a cock , me and him have had bad experiences but it was all abit of banter obviously not received well.
I'm sure after we fight the air will be clear ,
Has anyone got any footage of any of the fights or will it be on P4TV ?
Fotn was Scott grier v Luke imeson, total war. Luke scored well throughout but Scott walked thru everything n tried to smash Luke, pretty sure both will be a wee bit tender today
was a gbreat show...imeson vs grier was fight of the night by far too rock hard lads right there and a good win for luke...some great fights on well done brian
In response to all the madness on social media / forums;
Can we just say a massive thank you to the promoter for having us on the show and looking after us, the setup & atmosphere was quality and could have filled an even bigger venue. The fights were well matched and of a very high standard.
Regarding Chris Shaw and his team (Steven Houston) they were nothing but polite and helpful at weigh-in and before bout, rumours go around about everyone in the sport but we judge only on personal experience.
The fight itself was shaping up to be a good contest, Chris was very strong and game working well with his boxing and Panicos scoring with turns in clinch followed by kicks. The incident at the end of round 2 Chris has told us he did not hear the bell which we are not in a position to say weather he did or not, he was very focused on this fight as he is in all his bouts and i'm sure was in the zone.
The reasons given for the shot after the bell was that the combination was started before then bell and another being that the punch was thrown before the bell but by the time it landed the bell had gone. I know if a combination was midway with Panicos’ ring experience he would not have dropped his guard to touch gloves and come back to the corner regardless of any bell he would defend himself at all times.
We have to go with the head judge and referees decision who also confirmed with one of the other judges with a good view of it and timekeeper who decided it was an illegal punch and therefore a foul and disqualification.
We spoke to Chris Shaws manager (Steven Houston) after the bout to arrange the rematch which will happen as soon as possible fitting in after Chris’ already confirmed bouts with Jonno and Stevie Brown. I believe this should now have been confirmed with Scottish promoter for first date they are both available after their bouts. As we said to Chris’ trainer we took the bout knowing it was a dangerous one and not one that we had to take but we do not shy away from matches and if you want to be number 1 you have to beat everyone, too many people ducking bouts if people are ranked below them etc and Shaw will be up there ranked highly soon.
The only negative part of the whole weekend for me was an officials behaviour Karl Lochridge who was witnessed by several ringside tables and other officials and event organisers not behaving in a manner an official should; especially with children present. Not only did he subject people to the aforementioned behaviour, he also claims that you are allowed up to 2 seconds after the bell to continue fighting and has since publicly voiced this incorrect information. It is a great shame that a below N class official who clearly has no understanding whatsoever of the rules managed to get onto a show with A class fights on the card. Some serious retraining required there. Our 3 gyms and the others we teach at have agreed that we will not participate in any capacity at any event that has Karl Lochridge is even handing out a trophy on as he has proved himself totally incompetent, an official written complaint to his superiors is due to be filed.
Wont be posting or replying to any posts on this thread, have spoken to Steven Houston this morning and sorting rematch, that will be the end of it.
In response to Liam's post regarding Karl lochridges behaviour
Iv asked Liam a couple of times if he could explain what's happened because Karl trains and coaches with me so I wanted to find out what went on. I was told to ask the promoter and Karl, which i did and BOTH replied they had no clue as to what he was supposed to have done. I asked one of the judges who was present ringside and he also didn't know what happened. Karl then said "after the decision he left his judges table and moved next to the time kepper and judges table, and thinks Liam must have got himself and Another guy mixed up, the guy was standing next to where he was judging who was shouting and screaming abuse at the ref and Panicos"
If this is so I would hope that Karl would get a public apology from Liam who should have went through the appropriate channels before airing it on a public forum in the first place
Liam had the appropriate channels, in fact someone who was standing there and listened to the referee approach Karl and advise it was a DQ and Karl arguing the decision saying 'no two seconds'.
I am neutral and was supporting both Panicos and Chris but do believe in just and true behaviour, particularly when a fighter's safety is at risk.
I heard this information from someone who was standing there and heard it first hand.
Apologies Gary D but the truth is that Karl argued with the refs decision, despite what he may protest.
