A true giant of the sport!
unbelievably sad news
and i cannot believe that there was someone out there who's first thought was to post some bullshit about steroids. Disgusting post
johnny t here,my hero his 2 fights with numpthon were classics, love watching clips of this guy,no posing just non stop action, how many people from england did he fight, i can only think of one tod mcarthy and i may be wrong on that,i would also like to no who was the fighter he fought and they actually appear to knock each other out, also wat was the result of that fight.
One of the few people an old man like me can call a hero.
Most fighters from my generation and beyond have always been in awe of him.
A very sad loss. R.I.P
A great loss for his family and sport in general, one of the greats who paved the way for europian fighters in Thailand. RIP

A no nonsense warrior!
The Word legend is used loosely these days, this guy was an absolute legend
The Greatest!
Very sad day!
RIP the Diamond!
unbelievable. him and dany bille took it to the thais when no one else could. he was a wrecking ball. i thought he was a bit older but now it puts into perspective just how much he achieved so young
I can't believe it. Sad day for all.
R.I.P Ramon Dekkers
Very sad. Last year I met him in a seminar here in Brazil. RIP.
The phrase legend is often overused and really should be only attributed to men of this mans magnitude. Few peoples names are more associated with the sport they represent than this . He was as iconic as Pele and Football, Sobers and Cricket, or as Clay (Ali) and Boxing. He leaves behind a legacey of reveared quality.
RIP. A true Legend
He fought Thais he knocked them out gained their respect and shown the world they are human and beatable what a guy! And what a life sadly cut short he never hid or pretended he walked the walk and his legacy is burned into the soul of all who love the sport! Rest in peace!
Absolutely gutted the guy was an inspiration. I remember when I first started training buying up all those 'kings of muay thai' series on vhs just to watch his fights. Gutted.
No1 Muay farrang, didn't realise how young he was, RIP
I heard this morning.
This sport has lost a person that did alot,
and proved that you can be more then what you are.
RIP.
Damn, lost a good guy.
R.I.P. Ramon Dekkers such a tragic loss :-( of a Muay Thai Legend!
Condelences go out to all his Family & Friends.
Taken away from us far to early R.I.P

agree with Sean and Pat ... he was the same age as me and yes makes me realise how mortal we are ... TRUE legend and fighter ... one who wrote the history books for foriegn fighters in Thailand .... RIP Mr Dekker

Even in south american newspapers his death was noticed. I made a scan.
The very first muay-thai footage I ever watched was a Ramon Dekkers highlight reel - inspired me to take up the sport... and I'm sure I'm one of many
True legend. RIP x
Huge influence the world over... RIP
One of my biggest inspirations in the 80's & 90's I remember getting out my collection of Ramon Dekker fight videos every time I had a fight coming up just to get me psyched up and ready to do battle!
I was lucky enough to meet and train with the great man on a few seminars and he was always very friendly but carried that special prescence about him you just knew he was dangerous!
They called him the 'diamond' well I hope he shines forever bright in the stars!...God bless & R.I.P.
A true inspiration, and only the same age as myself. Puts into perspective his acheivments, I always thought he was older..sad news RIP
Ramon was without doubt the ONLY reason i started Muay Thai.
I saw Numphon dekkers 1 on a racked off videotape and from then on i was hooked.
he had a massive impact on my life and i was happy to meet him twice.
Total legend!! I wonder (although seemingly insensitive) if there will be a full autopsy? Curious about brain trauma etc.. Not steroids ya dim wit! This guy was 160lbs at 40 years old....
Deepest apologies. I actually googled Dekkers 'ster****' - I didn't know who he was although had heard the name and it came up with a guy in the UFC who had been trained by Dekkers who had tested positive. The guy was also Dutch. Sincerest condolences to the family of Mr Dekkers.
My deepest condolences go out to all his family, friends and students on this sad day
any thing further on cause of death? stroke/ cardiac arrest? has his funeral taken place?
The funeral took place thursday Hawkman, not heard anything about a autopsy.
R.I.P. The Diamond.
