Super League, Rotterdam Rocked
Finally back home after an amazing trip. One of the best trips I have ever been on, all the fighters were really good blokes and the Super League crew were very professional but at the same time were always there to help if we needed anything. On the night of the fights not one fight was bad, the technique shown by some of the fighters was very impressive and one mistake and someone would be getting knocked out.
As for my fight went, I busted my ankle early in the second round on Amrani's elbow. After that I couldn't put as much power behind my kicks as I wanted to and just had to try and fight without showing any pain. No excuses from me though, Amrani fought great and he stuck to his game plan. He moved well and used the whole ring. I blocked most of his punches but he stayed busy racking up the points. I learnt a lot as anyone does from a lose and cant wait to get back into the gym and start training again so I can redeem my self on the next show.
Here is a bunch of pictures I took over the week I was in Holland.
If you get a chance to buy this show on DVD it would be money well spent. Every fight was great and non-stop action from start to finish.
Thank you Super League for giving me the chance to be part of something great.
Hope you enjoy the Pics.
This was the promotional truck used in Holland to promote the show.
JWP and Mr.ALbert Kraus. We swapped T-shirts, his a good guy.
JWP, Chico, Kraus after a training Session at Super Pro gym in Rotterdam a few days before the fight.
I hope you heard how many fans you have in Europe...
Hope to see you in Europe soon again!!
Albert Kraus trainer Dennis. He looked after us very good in our stay. A very nice guy and good trainer. His mobile phone's never stop.
This guy was trouble, just joking. Peter was a legend inside and out side the ring. Hm and his little Brother Reece were top blokes. Glade I finally got a chance to meet and watch Peter fight.
My best mate from Japan Nitta, me and my new friend Malipet.
I have met this guy before in America and he some how followed me to Holland. This world is getting too small. Hey John, great catching up with you again.
Joerie Mes and JWP just after the weigh-in.
El Amrani Kamel after the weigh-in. Hope that we can rematch one day. But also glade that we can just hang on other Super League shows together.
Me and Choppa. Had a chance to just hang and be mates. Choppa is a good bloke and doing his country proud. Soon you soon Choppa.
Dmitry, how good is this guy. 187cm tall has got to be a slight advantage. I missed his fight but cant wait to see it on the DVD.
The Fella's all freezing at the stadium, was pretty cold over there.
After many years of posting on Ax I finally got to meet one of the brothers of Muay Thai from the other side of the world. My friend Dirk.
Had the chance to meet another Axer in Rotterdam, but unsure of the spelling of the name. Don't want to spell it just in case I say the wrong one.
8 time world champion Perry Ubeda. Would be great to see him fight in Australia.
One of the legend trainers of the sport Thom Harinck.
Nice photo's that fads aka Fahad, JWP i really enjoyed wathing your fight you showed a lot of heart, from where we were sitting it looked like you took some heavy shot but you just kept on going forward, well done.
The whole event and all the fighter were top class.
Ole (not looking to handsome in this photo), JWP, Fadi Merza and Chopper. After the photo Ole, Choppa, Shuki, Richard Walsh and myself went into Amsterdam. Only had a few hours to hang out together before they had to go to the airport. We almost got into a fight with a street preformer who wanted money after Ole video taped him. Told us he was going to break all our Australian legs. Funny shit.
haha nice one JWP
the name's spelt Fahad
It was a pleasure to meet and talk to you
Commiserations on the fight but man it was a good fight!
Hope you're well and chillaxing!
Might see you in italy ;)
My trainer Richard Walsh with a funny poster in the back ground. Almost makes you goes crossed eyed!
Richard Walsh enjoying a Royal with Cheese, Classic. Only in Holland.
We run into this place by accident. I can remember Ryan Simson used to wear Susies Saloon T-shirts when he fought in Thailand. I asked the guy behind the bar but he didn't know. Half way through our beer he come back after ringing the boss and said "yes, they did sponsor him". The beer worked well there.
Picture perfect. Amsterdam was like talking a step back in time. A very beautiful city. You would be eating lunch then next minute a horse and carrige would come cruising past, amazing.
Hope you like the pics. Not much action but good memories for me.
John Wayne.

JWP,
It was a pleasure watching you fight, I have heard so much about you and it was great to finally see you in action. Shame the fight didn't go your way but hey that is the fight game. You are right about the standard of superleague it is awesome and you live up to that standard no question.
I will hopefully be at the next show and hope to see you again there.
Cheers,
FB'Slim
I like to ask JWP how was superleague compared to K-1 max?
thanx
Hi Jwp,
thanks for the meeting!! can you remember what i haved written a few years ago in your guestbook ?I hope that someday you're just as big as Ramon Dekkers and Rob Kaman, that's why I gave you the tape of the old days.It was a honor for me to meet you and I hope to meet you again.
Good luck in all your fights !!!
Tcb......Dirk.

I think Super League is good because you only have to fight once in one night. K-1 max is all about luck of the draw and how your body can handle the damage. Super League is ten of the best main events you would see any where in the world. Super League does not want to compete with anyone, they only want to see good fights and have the best vs the best. With that attitude I can see them going wrong.
JWP
Bad luck JWP.
Maybe you can take Dawson's Oz Jnr. Middle boxing title for a bit of a laugh.
When is the next Super League & are you going ? The concept sounds awesome.
It was good to catch up with you again when the Hurricane fought at Penrith.
Cheers
Reuben(u know who...T)
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and photos JWP
Cool you share your pics with us!
Great trip!
The Axer whose name you couldn't remember is name is Fahad.
Better luck next time Wayne.
Nice pics Wayne. Sounds as though the trip was very positive despite the fight going the other way. nevermind eh.
Good luck next time. Thanks for sharing the photos
i watched your fight live on TV.i kept my fingers crossed 4U,not only because
you`re an axer(if i`m not mistaken,the only one in Superleague),but also cos
i really prefered your style to that of your opponent.
hope to see one of your next Superleague-appearances on the spot !
shyguy,
Pete Crooke is also an Ax'er and I was speaking to Choppa and he reads it quite regurlarly.
Cheers,
FB'Slim
how embarrassing!it occured to me 5 minutes too late !
wanted to say something nice to Mr.Parr though, cos he had to travel so far !
so Choppa reads ax?great,i still remember his cracking fight against O.B.Laursen
in Vienna.
but they`ll show Mr.Crooke`s winning fight on German TV quite soon and i`m sure
from then on he`ll have a central place in my memory! :-))))))
Cheers too; BTW i`ve seen pics of you have you made a drastic cure since
you picked your ax name LOL?would be equally appropriate,if Sandy called
himself "shy guy" ROFL :-)))
Ole is on here too, occassionally.
yep ole is also watching the site, also malaipet who's coach is flame who posts regularly, also fadi watches the site, chico also...there are some fighters in superleague who read or write ax from time to time.
That's cool that they read the board. Hi all you superstars!
Ole posts as thundercat - his fight name
True story - Ole's in America. A guys asks what his fight name is. Ole says 'thundercat'. Guy says 'oh, like the cartoon'
Ole - 'Like the what now?!'
lol
Does anyone know where to get tapes of the superleague shows for us poor mis fortunate people in Australia.
Dangerous,
Check the 'Superleague Vids' thread, there isn't any out yet but they are hoping to release a DVD with the best of all the shows soon I believe.
shyguy, Yes I have had a great cure since my name, I have lost over 15Kg in 3 years. Funny though all my friends still call me FatBoy as I have been called that since I was 12 yrs old!!!lol
All Superleague fighters who are on AX - Big respect to you all, I have been to a lot of shows over the last few years and SUPERLEAGUE is the best by far. Why, because of you guys, great fighters who all have genuine respect for each other. Oh and of course the Superleague staff for putting on great shows.
Cheers,
FB'Slim
Off topic-Fatboy-great job!!
very exciting, that Ole is (occasionally)on ax !he`s my favourite
in Superleague and on the whole! will look out for "Thundercat"!
And agree to Mark L.i do know, how hard it is,to loose weight.
(i`ve lost 10 kg in the last year).i`m glad for you.
Cheers guys, just wish I had some decent 'before' and 'after' pictures.
FB'Slim
Thanks fatboy Ill be receiving a copy of the show soon.Imagine bringing some of the Superleague boys to Australia.Victoria and queensland would sell out,so maybe Tarik should consider bringing over a couple of Superleagues top guns and then we would be able to gauge how our boys are on the world scene.
