Myself and Gary are promoting our next Muay Thai and Kickboxing event on Sunday 1st June.
This will be held at The Civic Hall in Guildford which has a capacity of 1200 with excellent facilities, including shower rooms, 2 very large dressing rooms, and a further 4 smaller rooms.
The Doors will open at 6pm, and the fights will start at 7pm.

This will be a Novice/ C class show, with maybe a few B class fights on the bill. There will also be two Vale Tudo fights aswell.

We would very much appreciate it if any instructors could help us out with fighters and in return we will offer a purse, a very good ticket deal and expenses.

Please give either myself or Gary a call for anymore details and hopefully we can get some of your fighters on the show.

Janine's wrist is healing well and she is back training. You mentioned the fight to me earlier. If the wrist holds up in training, you can have it on your show if you want it.
As they have fought each other twice it would be nice if Nickys British title was on the line, but I don't wanna cause any extra expense. Both girls are decent ticket sellers I think.
Give it some thought and let me know.

To be honest, I would have prefered lucy to have fought for an area or english title first, but as these two are the best at their weights at the moment, and Loopy being Scottish, and Hunks being English, this was the only option available.

I think both fighters are deserving of a title shot, especially Louise so I have no issues with putting it on.... but thanks for raising the issue toots, no pizzza for you this time when you're down!!! lol

now now toots you know damn well there were no eliminator bouts there arent enough female fighters to do that, louise is the scottish champion which should instantly qualify her and lucy is a credible oppponent whos record is stunted only becouse of the amount of pullouts she's had (keep it clean guys).

its not the case as with someone who we both know putting a british title on for a couple of novices cos ones his bird and the others his mates bird (no offence ladies)

hopefully as a result of this we will generate more publicity for womens muay thai and get more opponents for both these girls and promoters will see that the women can put on as good a fight as the men, which has happened up her becouse of girls like loopy, kyrie barker, angela totten,liegh conway and sharon cruikshanks and many more the promoters up here are now putting ladies fights on the shows and not always just after the kids as a teaser before the REAL fights start.

Lucy and Lou are fighting for the ISKA 64kg British Title. I did have Janine Davis fighting Nicola Aindow for the ISKA 72kg British title, but Nicola has unfortunatley pulled out as she has an injured leg.

There are a few more possibilities, but to be honest, I didnt really want to many titles on the show, as it is predomintly a Novice/C class show.

Zebs/Raks - yep, just had it confirmed I'll be fighting. Raks - what do you think I've been bloody doing in Thailand, sipping the Samsong all day???? The cheek of it!

Unfortunately, due to an injury sustained in her last fight, Lucy (Hunks) as had to pull out of the fight with Louise.
I have got a replacement already, Jo Abrahart from Chang Mai Tigers.

I know that Lucy is devestated that she won't be fighting, but I'm sure that Hunks and Lou will get it on further down the road, when Lucy is back to full fitness again.

Still means that we have the ax girls team of Loopy Lou, Rach, Miniluv & Femme.... and I am not going to allow any of them to pull out!!

i am fighting i am totally unhurt!!! Hilary fought the right fight against me 3 round of nothing but clinch work! she told me thats what shed trained to do and she did it well! Jenny got totally KO'd last night by Janine whos also fighting on Zeb's show. Anyhow I may loose but I make them fight hard for it!! and law of averages says that if i keep on fighting i must win at some point!!!! (lets hope so eh! else i might need to consider a change of sport)
We wont expect a win on this one though either tammy is a lot more experienced than me, she ll have to work hard though!!

Im not sure if Dave is coming, maybe that was what he meant, but i definately am though I have no idea where it is (Zebs could you email me directions from ST Albans please and I really am quite bad at finding the way so they will need to be good!!)

Toots the show was a charity event in Aspul, Guy rang Dave last week and asked him if i would fight Hilary, Jenny fought Janine from Beastmasters though Janine was padded and Jenny wasnt, im not sure why that was if it was a Demo or something? Beck Bury fought and won (not sure who she was fighting but she had it easily) Two fights with kids one for a title, im not sure who won those I think it was a kid from wicker camp and then a young thai that trains with Nigel Fell in Bradford lost for the northern area title. And then there was a Demo with Ashely Guisard and Lee Cox.
It was a VERY small show.
Im fighting again at the end of June on Master A's show against one of his girls Im not sure who but i know i have to be lighter than i would like to be! (no puddign for me for a while!!)
I ll stop rambling now but just a final thought i always think that you dont losse by going down only by not getting back up (though I might need reminding of that if my fight record gets any worse!!!)

Hi Rach.

Like you said, just keep going for it and good luck on Master A's. I am on that one too. Can't wait. Janine was padded because that was what was agreed because she is fighting on the 1st too and didnt want to get too many injuries, risking her place next week. Jenny had shin pads on but just no head guard although it was requested ( maybe there wasn't one available, i don't know). It was a fight though and an excellent KO by head kick from Janine. Class. I personally don't think Becky had it easy, she just out classed the other girl, who kept coming forward.
I hope I can get Monday off work so i can come down on the 1st and watch the show. Looks to be a good one.

You're right it was an excellent head kick, i think that Jenny didnt wear a head guard by choice. And the girl that was fighting Becky was very gutsy I agree. Who are you fighting on Master As?

Looks like i will be losing my voice on Sunday if i can make it.
Aileen i hope you could get the day off. I will be gutted if i can't. For some reason I had it in my head that it was a Saturday and might have left it too late to request the monday off. Zebedee will be buzzing off it i'm sure, as all the fighters will be fighting their hearts out, making a great show. fighting is always tough,
but is it not harder when you know folk from ax?
and know that everyone will find out?
I mean, for most folk, the fear is not of loosing, or even of pain,
but it is fear of humiliation.
/and the more people you know and know you, and the more folk that will find out through ax the results, then the higher the risk of humiliation.

(though most folk i think would agree that it is brave to step in the ring at all)

Hi Zebedee. Thank you for the compliment. It is nice to hear after things didn't go my way. It was my first fight under my new team and I really appreciated the opportunity, as it has helped me back on track. Hopefully it is a fight that will happen again.

Yes sandy, I am the same lad who fought like a spastic and got beaten by a (rather good) novice on your show last month... and i dunno what your worried about with the girls backing up for another fight after only 3 weeks off. I fought on your show on the 5th of may (C class, 3x2), in northampton on the 11th of may (5x2, knees to head and body) will be on Zebs show on sunday (5x2, euro thai rules) and then will back up again on the 8th for Paul H's show at wolverhampton (5x2 WAKO PRO Midlands thai title @ 69kg)

but then, maybe i need some mental help.... (alternately... maybe i should walk around wearing a placard "I'm a poor australian student who is willing to be beaten up for money")

Some sort of freak occurrance has rendered me unable to look up from the floor at the moment, literally.

Doctor has an unpronouncible name for it, but the end result is that i wont be doing any exercise beyond walking til next week at the least, making me have to pull out of this fight, and maybe even the one on Paul H's show (pending doctor on monday)

My sincerest apologies to Zebs and his lad, who i'm letting down badly. I can only hope that he can find (yet) another substitute at this late minute.

Not training at Bethnal Green Tommorow, back to my roots at London Bridge for till i get a little cash together.

I will be back at Bethnal in a few weeks to help me develop the basics as I found I was getting tested a lot more there as there are so many different type of opponents to train with. Also its open all the time the more the days i get the better!

Had some really good training sessions there in the last week or so. prepared me well for the crawely interclub. That was a really fun day! Got lots more to work on. Thanks to the KO team for their effort and help in preperation.

So any views on any of the fights.... was Richard Jones lucky to put Anwar down in the last seconds of their fight?? Otherwise the decision could have been different.

Jesse none of my buisness really so I`ll understand if you don`t answer but did you take a loss on the show? Something definitley not right when that starts happening love of the sport or no...

Well, if I dont answer, then everyone will know we had a loss!! LOL

We did have a little loss, but these things can happen.
Gary and I are always prepared for the worse if it is to happen, but the show was really well recieved, everyone seemed to have a great time, but we just feel short of our breakeven figure.

There were situations beyond our control that happened that did effect ticket sales, but anyone who was there will agree, the atmosphere was excellent and I cant wait for the next one.... (anyone want to buy a kidney??)

you have to be ready to take a substantial loss in the first year, till your reputation is built up, and till you have learnt to cut corners financially, without skimping on the service.

There is no doubt that z+s promotions are in it for the love of the sport, and not for financial and personal gain
(not that many, if any , are in it for ££ or personal gain!)

for that, in time, they will be rewarded, if they stick through the hard bits.
each show will get easier. honest guv.

I'm already looking forward to the next one :-)

Hunks - sorry I looked so blank when you said hello, I was still recovering from the food poisoning I got on the Friday, I think the most hydration I'd had over those 48(ish) hours were the pints I drank during the fights, all 3 of them!

Femme - cracking fight girlie! Well done, I knew you'd do it! AND you stopped her spinning back kick, nice one lol!

Loopy Lou and Stevie Nisbett - really good to meet you two as well, after reading your posts for so long I kinda felt like I knew you already! Sorry I missed your fight though Lou, I really wanted to see that Ram Muay as well.

Aileen - where abouts were you? I missed saying hello to ya! The photos are great, looking forward to seeing the rest.

Rach - what happened? I looked away, looked back again and the fight had been stopped!

Rach tricked her opponent into coming in and it worked wonders :-)
