I hear its at 63.5kgs against Mazza from Japan.

Mazza has just defended his title after beating Lee Colville on points, he won the title on 22nd October 2005 at the same show as when I won mine.

Posted: 2006-01-12 12:25:32
thats a different fighter Briancal! The one Liam is matched with is the one from k.r.s who had a real battle with South African on same show Rich won his title and also beat Lee Coalville recently. He is a strong fighter in the clinch, but Liam's experience should see him through.
Posted: 2006-01-12 13:35:43
Good luck from us.

Rob is right.
Maza Hiroshima is a different fighter from the guy who puts his profile on chokemuay.
Anyway, Good luck Liam! I am sure you can do it!

this show on the 10th looks to be pretty good it's part of a show that has Pongsaklek Gratingdaeng gym defendng his W.B.C world boxing title as main fight and also looks to have Samkor on the bill vs a French opponent and possibility of another w.p.m.f title defence
fight is up in Chainat province about 2 hours north of Bangkok
Posted: 2006-01-16 06:10:05
will this be televised rob?
Posted: 2006-01-16 07:03:15
it should be mate, but the main part of the t.v coverage will be the international boxing bout.
Posted: 2006-01-17 06:25:17
Hi Liam,
How are you doing. How long are you staying in Thailand. I went there 3 weeks in december and fought at Samrong. It was a real experience.

I wish you all the best in your title shot. I am curious which bond (league) it is from. (WMC,WFCA, WPKL,....???)
Posted: 2006-01-17 11:33:18
its for W.P.M.F title

hi nico im stayin here til april20th then comin home to fight on pain and glory and badcompany shows. how did your fight go?
Posted: 2006-01-18 03:49:39
The fight went pretty well. He was counted 2 times and in round four the 3th time he was counted out. It was my first fight with elbows, and, hell yeah. It's my kind of fighting. Nothing as complete as that. The guy was way overweight though but we couldn't check it because we were to late. (problems with the chauffeur, you know how the thais are ;)

Much luck and greetings to Andy.

Thanks. I'll do my best noi666 and liam. I am very motivated to go to the last round cause then I can use my elbows again. I don't know much about my oponents though. But no problem, I will give them a fight they will remember. I am curious how I'll do in such a tournament.

Posted: 2006-02-15 11:02:37
Go on Liam you can win this one; good luck pal.

Liam’s opponent looked strong, resilient and persistent rather technically brilliant in the clinch. His South African opponent on that day looked a strong puncher early in the fight, but less technically competent than Liam who is sharper and has a better range of weapons.
Posted: 2006-02-15 12:56:57
Should have read "rather than technically brilliant in the clinch"

heard at the gym last night that liam weighed in at 63.4kgs...

Mazza weighed in at 64.4 and had to run in a sweatsuit and skip off the last kilo!

Mazza has quite a height advantage over Liam as well.

Good luck mate!

Watch this space for details.
Posted: 2006-02-16 08:35:39
Just spoken to Liam...apparently he landed so many low-kicks that in the last round he could hardly walk.... Mazza was falling in to the clinch to tie Liam up, but Liam was just too strong and kept throwing him off and lowkicking him again!!!

Mazza must be a tough, resilient guy to keep going like that!
Game on for being such a tough opponent and making a great fight!

a thoroughly domininant performance. How Mazza last the 5 rounds I will never know. Liam hit him with solid leg kicks throughout, elbows and punches that would put many a fighter down, Mazza's nose was streanming blood from round 2 onwards.

Nice one Liam - cant tell you how proud and pleased I am for you. You're giving everything to your dreams and you really deserve all your success. Wish I'd been there (instead of freezing my arse off in our gym putting up with your cousin and getting my arms broken by Jordan on teh pads).

Daz Phillips was over here today - looks like he's afyter challenging Cadden - he's going for the Beagle Super Tan Award. Except he wasnt quite as Orange as Mr C - More of an attractive scarlett colour. That'll teach him to fall asleep on the sunbed!

Sorry Daz but you cant get away with it that easily.
