On record and experience then Kevin Harper but the way Dave has improved in the past year, his fitness alone, and the way he fought at the Rajadamneon, then he has to be up there. I think that Mike Wakeling could be exciting to watch.

Based on what i witnessed last weekend ill go for Craig Jose for this one, he is tailer made for this kinda tourny. I would normally say Kev but Craig impressed me so much last weekend, Good luck to all who are competing in the tourny though, should be good. Paulo good luck in your re-match with Sebastiane, im hoping to be there to see this show it looks like a wicked line up.

Does anybody have any thoughts on what particular things/strengths or style does a fighter need to make them more effective to win an 8-man tournament?

You are not wrong there Paulo. Also I suppose you must be flexible to get your head around adapting to different styles, techniques, stances, ranges etc in a short period of time.

it was a really good trchnical fight in which paulo dropped him in i think the first or second ocana is very very tough and has a nice style it was very close fight but paulo took it
ocana doesnt go bakwards lol
paulo da silva
Posted: 2007-03-10 06:12:18
hi reece hope you are ok mate? it was a close fight he is really tough and strong for 52kg and dosen`t stop coming fowards he is one fit boy. i got the decision on the night but it was one of my hardest fights. so looking foward to it! Andy bc thanks for wishing me good luck was nice to talk to you about a few things the other night! thanks for the sambuca!! ;-) The Highlander i think what john jarvis means is elbows are only alowed in the final!! it wont be k1 rules is going to be muay thai rules dont panic! ;-)
Rodders i think danny and arons fight will be around 60-61kg i think but will check with john tonight and post it later but that should be one hell of a fight!
for me is going to be hard to pick a winner because a few of them lads are my mates but i wish young michael can do it! but i was well impressed with craig the other night in scotland he was amazing what a tough boy 3 hard fights in one night and he still gave me a lift to the hotel after all that top men!! lol

I hate to say this but ive spoke to John and wont now be able to fight in this tournament. Im really disappionted as this is the first time i have had to pull out of a fight and i dont like letting ppl down. I have an opprtunitiy i cant turn down, it was my intention to fight in this tourney then again 3 weeks later on 20th may in pain and glory. However according to the k1 contract i am not able to fight 30 days prior to the event on may 20th. This show is 22 days which is the bad news. If it was up to me i would fight on both shows as i am grateful for the opportunities. I just wanted to let ppl know the crack before rumors start flying. I discussed this in depth with Barry and the rest of the sorthanikul team and i have to do what is the best opportunity. Ive spoke to john and there is no hard feelings, i wish him and everyone fighting the best of luck.

Unfortunately The WMC/S1 UK 8-man has been postponed until our October 7th show.
We have had to postpone due to a major sponsor not being able to commit to us until later in the year, also
we have had a few pullouts.....This Tournament will go ahead in October hopefully with the same line-up as
originally proposed.
We will still be holding the show itself (but with no Tournament)which will feature fighters from all over Europe.....
This will still be a fantasic show as usual with some of our very best fighters taking on opponents from abroad.
a full card will be announced soon.

Well done John for another very good and exciting show. It was good to see all the usual suspects at ringside including mad Sandy, mad Vinny much more sensible Craig, Vannie, Sean, Dan and Nigel (and many others). I would have liked to stay for the after fight party but had to get back up north to referee on Master Sken's show.

Some really exciting fights and some excellent performances. It was a long night and my memory is rubbish but the results I can remember are:

Paulo Da Silva (Lumpini) v Sebastian Ocana (France) 'A' Class
Full Thai rules (win Sebastian Ocana points)

Danny Taylor (Lumpini) v Dave (Scotland) (win Danny Taylor TKO cut)

Rob Storey (Keddles) v Lee Coville (Dekkers Gym) 'A' Class Full
Thai rules (win Lee Coville TKO cut)

Jason Woodham (Mungkorn dam) v Chris Carmichael (Scotland) 'A' Class Full Thai rules (Win Jay Woodham TKO body kick)

Bernise Alldis (Keddles) v Laura Craig (Scotland) 'B' Class (win Bernice Alldis points)

Dave Fensom (Woking)v a replacement fighter 'B' Class ENGLISH TITLE (win Dave Fensom points)

There were some great individual performances and loads of courage shown by many many fighers on the night but for me the most outstanding performance was Bernice Alldis (Keddles) who fought a brilliant technical fight against a tough and strong Laura Craig. It was the best technical performance by a UK female I have had the pleasure to referee.

how did Chris Polley get on?
bweb
Posted: 2007-04-29 05:39:39
chris polley won in what was a war...bit of an elbow fest as well, great fight.

another fantastic fight was our lad kyle hellieur versus yves wait. kyle was outstanding. everything that has been asked of him for this fight - he delivered - it was a pleasure preparing him for this fight.

there were lots of good positive responses from those who were ring side and if there is another 18 year who is 65kgs as upcoming as kyle in the uk id like to know as it could be a nice match up. well done kyle for winning the belt against an opponent who beat you just over a year ago in wembley and had an unbeaten record - absolutely brilliant, i really cant wait for the dvd.

also well done to jay 'the warrior' woodham who got back to winning ways with a brilliant display against a tough lad from smtc. well done jay you did the business and onwards and upwards now pal. great all round performance from both mungkorn dam lads well done!

thanks to john jarvis for another fantastic show and oh yes thanks for putting us in the same changing rooms as the ring girls...on the next show we hope you give us the same deal or were not bringing any fighters lol....

Jay and Kyle,
From a essex boy to 2 great fighters. I travelled down to watch the fights as I am looking at joining the mungkorn dam. If the gym is anything like the fighters then it will be the best decision I make to chnage to thai boxing.

I spoke to Chris last week and should be training with you soon. Congratulations to the both of you excellent fights.

Well done to all the Scottish fighters, never easy away from home. Well done Chris Carmichael, only you're 5th fight and FTR way to go mate, good to meet you, great lad. Well done also to Chris Polley, first time I've seen you fight and what a fight, you are as tough as fook mate well done. Well done Laura, it just wasn't you're day but you will be back and IMO you fought the best female I've seen in Bernise Alldise, she is one classy fighter and is going to be a huge star. It was a joy to watch and Bernise was the fighter of the day. And last but by no means least to our very own Davy MacIntosh, what can I say mate you were fooking brilliant and proved that you belong at that level. The fight was very close, just a pity you were cut but you showed that you deserve to be fighting the top guys in the UK. You did our whole gym proud and you are a credit to Caledonian with you're performance. I wonder what league you are in now ? lmao. And to you're opponent Danny Taylor, you couldn't meet a nicer guy, brilliant fighter and sportsman, I wish you the very best mate in you up and coming fights you are a class act. It was a pleasure to watch that fight, well done on you're victory mate.

I would also like to add that we were treated like royalty by Mr. John Jarvis from start to finish, thank you very much John we really appreciate it. It was a brilliant show and you made it happen, top venue, top hotel and top hospitality. Thanks mate and we will see you soon.

Hi everyone,
This is John Jarvis (suppose I should join AX soon....)

Just like to say a big thanks to everyone for your support and help.
All the gyms, fighters, trainers, Officials and all my guys and girls behind the scenes who dont often get the credit they deserve.
You Guys do an amazing job helping me set up, running the show and getting the fighters warmed up and ready to rumble....
Show went really well, run really smoothly(bit long as always - sorry)
but some excellent matches.

John craig and laura nice to see you again and thanks John and Guy for bringing the team down from Scotland - they all fought really well and gave brilliant performances.
Craig and Vanicha thanks for your help as always.
Hope you all got home okay.

See you all soon I hope

I don't want to be the negative voice on this thread but I've got to say it went on far too late with half the crowd gone before the last fights, having the main event start at gone midnight is a joke. Please, no more c class ram muays, cant they be saved for A Class only? I went to cage rage last week and although i prefer Muay Thai to MMA I can understand why they are bringing in huge crowds compared to Thai boxing.

On a more positive note congratulations Bernise, quality fight and unlucky Rob Storey, shame the fight got stopped before it even got a chance to get going.

well done to john on a great show, well organised as usual and great matches all the way through, shame about the late finish but these things happen.

Bernise was great, the danny taylor fight was all action until an unfortunate cut stopped it. Dave fensom was wicked always nice to see him doing well.

Also well done 2 kyle and jay on two great wins. Kyle thats the best i've seen u fight by a million miles, u were calm and focused and ur long knees were fantastic, the shot that dropped him in the fouth was a peach as well. Well done 2 jay as well, held it together once u injured ur hand, shows what an experienced, mature fighter u've become, mission accomplished guys.

let`s say it was a rush of blood and emotion!
the fight was ok not has good has the last one i just didn`t try and want it enough. supose all fighters must felt like that one time or another during they careers.
but like a very special lady says ( my mum) what doesn't kill you will make you stronger. so don't worry i will be back sooner done what every one thinks
well done to all the lads fighting from crawley see all the hard training paid of. Danny top elbow mate ;-)

Big well done to Danny who is a top fighter and a real nice guy as well, will be a VERY tough test for anyone at 59kg. Also thanks to Guy, Brian and Jordan Calder for doing my corner and to the people who came down to support me, meant a lot and was a good laugh!!
Met some really nice people, John Jarvis, Ruth Ashdown, Craig O Flynn, Paulo, Sebastian and his team, Vinny and all the smtc figthers etc, hope to see you all again soon, would be an honour to come down and fight again on a show like this.

great show. was unusual for me with 4 comebackfights. tommy moore back after 2 years with good win and bernice back after nearly 3 years!! winters an storey both been out a couple of years an all. was pleased with all of them. shame about robs cut. the problem wasnt the size of the cut as it wasnt that big. it hit a vessel and was pumping not pouring. shame really because it was shaping up nicely. winters had a hard one against Polly his first full rules fight and first 5 x 3. off 2 yrs then 8 weeks thailand and gets of the plane thursday, weighs friday and fight sat!!!! at 19 i think he will be a great prospect and hes only had 4 fights and a total of 5 and a half rounds!!!!!! that Polly is one tough customer and took some big shots. aaron would nlike to fight him again as soon as he can and i am sure that will make another great fight! well done to john on another great show. didnt really see any of the other fights to comment as was on fight 2 to fight 19! i will wait for the dvd.

Firstly Thanks to John for asking me along to fight, always a good one in Crawley!

Cheers Jess, got the win but will need to up my game for Marc. Should be good!!! 1 more week...

Some excellent fights! Was very impressed with Kyle Helleur aginst a tough opponent in Yves! You proved yourself in that one mate! You showed skill, composure and control. Very impressive, great to watch, looking forward to seeing whats next for you.

Never seen Chris Polly fight before but that boy can fight! Both Aaron and Chris put on a great show in what was a war but think you could've hit Chris with a sledge hammer that night and he'd still come out for more. Come on the Scots!!! Felt bad for Davy Mac getting cut like that as that was shaping up to be a good one but suppose thats the nature of full rules. Hope the cut heals soon mate. Good to see Guy and the lads doing the travels.

Well done on the win Danny. Was willing your bro on to win, sorry to hear he's hung up his gloves (if thats right, my bro said he heard that on the night)

Think I must be the only person not to see Bernice's fight and by the sounds of it I missed out big time. Looking forward to the dvd to see that one.

Thanks again to everyone involved, looking forward to next time...

Thanks Dave, was nice meeting you, you might actually be ther most relaxed fighter i have ever met backstage!!apart from me when i almost fell asleep ha! good luck in your next fight, will be a tough one but sometimes thats what you need, hopefully meet up with you s again sometime!
Wait til you see the Bernisse Aldis fight on tv/dvd, she was class, i ve watched lots of the best females fighterst and i always though Mary Hart or Jackie Short was the best id seen(not seen Lisa Smith mind you)but Bernisse was in a different league and i cant see anyone touching her 55-60kg!! .... if they do then they deserve to be no1, she fought the perfect fight against a very tough oppononent.

Cheers Danny, how much do you think I'll have to pay Ruth to actually take a pic of me hitting Marc and not just me eating leather???

Thought your bro looked good when coming forward in his last fight but the lad was just too aggressive and put him off a bit I think...

Do you know when the dvd's ready?

Cheers Davy, bound to meet up soon as like to be active. All the best mate...

I know he is Danny! That why i'm excited about getting in with him... You only see how good you are when you fight good people, no point fighting idiots just to get a good record is there.

I loved that fight with Ryan, felt like neither of us wanted to give it up and fought hard to the end. Shame, he's such a nice lad too!

Maybe see you Sunday if you're down mate, all the best...
