If nobody knows i think Nige or Colin will fill me in..... Maybe literally! LOL.
Gonna take My better half to this show and it looks cracking and a great venue.... I will restrain from putting my Wanderers shirt on!! A suit will do i think ha ha ha
Dave Croft
Posted: 2007-10-15 15:46:30
on tables there will be a dress code. i confirm table prices after consultation but

VIP with buffet £75
normal seating £30

hope that helps.

Ok Cheers Dave. Whats the dress code? Black tie job?
Dave Croft
Posted: 2007-10-15 16:03:08
thats the aim. though smart dress code as opposed to strictly black tie. dont take my word for that i need to double check but it wont be smart casual. it has to be high end.

a video link into the carpark will make it possible for my mates to come LOL

Best of luck with the show Master Sken, I hope all your plans for the show are going well.

Can someone confirm the ticket prices as the poster is hard to make out? Is it £25 for Standard Junior and £30 on the door, as I've got a few people asking me about tickets for it? Unfortunitly I'm going to miss it myself as I'll be in Thailand!
Dave Croft

yeh £25 for seating area tickets. mind you the venue is so good its like ring side.

Hi Everyone
Thankyou Dave for posting the poster on AX
The Super Show was meant to be for His Majesty The King's Birthday,in which I have recieved a letter of permission from The Palace and supporting by Thai Prime Minister. It's such an highest honour to me personally.
Thai Promoter has promised to raised money to support the show but could not meet the deadline that I have set up for the fund to be transfered to my Bank.
I have no alternative but to cancel the show as mentioned.
It would have been one of a great day in history of Muaythai. The Match would have been between Liam Harrison V Anuwat Kaewsamrit,I still do intend to bring this dream Match in UK in very near future.
I now follow through with Super Show by bringing back the REMATCH
-Liam "The Hitman"Harrison V Numpol (WMC WORLD CHAMPIOM)
-Duwao Kongidorm V Andre' Kotsur (King Of The Ring World Champion)
-Frankie Hudders V Calogero Palmieri Italian, his last 2 fights,he has beaten Yodenchai Sitpholek and Karim El Osrouti-Dutch Champion
-Michael Dicks V French Champion for WMC European Title
-Andy Thrasher V Pete Tiask-Sor.Thanikul Camp,Newcastle
-Andy Howson for WMC European Title opponent to be confirmed.
-Colin Johnson V Chris Polly
-Leroy Mogardo V TBC
Plus Demonstration the Art of KRABI KRABONG by KRU TONY MOORE
AWESOME DEMONSTRATION BY WORLD CHAPION-CHLOE BRUCE
MUAYTHAI DEMONSTRATION BY PAUL KARPOWICZ AND SITNARONG WORLD WIDE ACTIVE TEAM

Looks fantastic, good luck with it, will be a sell out for sure.

I won`t be able to make it as it co-incides with a football fixture I will be going to at the other end of the country, but I sincerely hope it is a fantastic success.

Have any discounted room rates been negotiated with the hotel which might just encourage those from further away to attend and be able to stay over for the night?

alex abusin is hoping to fight but an opponant has yet to be secured. alex fights ideally at 68kg but the pies got to him earlier this year and he lost to marc sargent fighting above his best weight but won last month over pete adams at the same inflated weight. but its a gamble competeing out of your category and so this time there will be no such risks. 68kg it is

Well it looks like this show has set the standard for any future "whats the line up?" shows.

Don't really see what all the song and dance is about to be honest, especially when rumours of Anuwat have been rife and nothing said to say any otherwise.

Damien vs Rungchai is a far bigger fight in my eyes. We have seen Liam vs Numphol before he looked a bit young and nervous last time out. I hear he has lost 3/4 of his last fights so i go with Liam by KO.

Pete
noi666
Posted: 2007-10-17 03:21:01
Come off it Peter Smithson. I dont think Numphol looked young and nervous last time out at Leeds Town Hall. Sure, coming up to the fight, outside the ring, I would agree. However, when he got in the ring he was the consumate professional.
He currently at the top of the rankings at Rajadamnern, so personally I think it would be foolish to write-off someone of that standard.

Also, Are you forgetting the other fights on the bill?
Duwao Kongidorm V Andre Kotsur
Frankie Hudders V Calogero Palmieri Italian, his last 2 fights,he has beaten Yodenchai Sitpholek and Karim El Osrouti-Dutch Champion
Michael Dicks V French Champion for WMC European Title
Andy Thrasher V Pete Tiask-Sor.Thanikul Camp,Newcastle
Andy Howson for WMC European Title opponent to be confirmed.
Colin Johnson V Chris Polly
Leroy Mogardo V TBC

Duwao is ranked in the top 5 of Rajadamnern Stadium at the moment.
Andre Kotsur is a 2 times world champion, veteran of over 100f and winner of the King of The Ring Tournaments
Frankie Hudders is a vetran of over 60 or 70f and is a major force in the 67kg catagory
Micheal Dicks never disappoints with his agrressive, no nonsence style.
Andy Thrasher is coming off a fantastic win only this past weekend.
Andy Howson is an internationally recognised fighter, holding european and intercontinental titles.
Colin Johnson is one of the hottest prospects and a rising star....plus being matched against Chris Polly...I dont think anyone would disagree that this is gonna be one helluva tear-up after Chris' performance this weekend with Alix James.
And not forgetting another rising star from the Super Gym in Knutsford, Leroy Morgado....he reminds me of Diesel Noi with his long rangey knee-fighter style.
Any of these fights could hold top of the bill status on any other show in the UK, but I think Master Sken has done an awesome job in bringing these fights together on the same bill.

Sure the Damian Trainer fight with Rungchai will be awesome, but that is one fight, top of the bill.

And to respond to your query about "Don't really see what all the song and dance is about to be honest, especially when rumours of Anuwat have been rife and nothing said to say any otherwise."

Master Sken writes above: The Super Show was meant to be for His Majesty The King's Birthday,in which I have recieved a letter of permission from The Palace and supporting by Thai Prime Minister. It's such an highest honour to me personally.
Thai Promoter has promised to raised money to support the show but could not meet the deadline that I have set up for the fund to be transfered to my Bank.

It would have been one of a great day in history of Muaythai. The Match would have been between Liam Harrison V Anuwat Kaewsamrit,I still do intend to bring this dream Match in UK in very near future.

As you can see this is still a possibility, and the fact that Master Sken is rolling in such circles in the Thai Government, must tell you a little something of the drive and commitment he is offering to the sport.

Come on....lets not turn this in to a bunch of nay-sayers, agruing on the internet, and lets get behind people who are willing to push the sport forwards.

its difficult to determine your angle on this one pete? are you an industry critic, whose main aim is to look for the cracks in veneer of a show or to compare cynically.

or indeed are you a sponsor just waiting to put your money into a promotion worth your time and effort?

you post without identity so i really cannot make that call but would ask you to at least appreciate that the best laid plans can falter at the eleventh hour. As did master skens. he had hoped to host the kings birthday celebrations here in uk. transport was arranged for thai dignataries travelling/attending the show (who actually may still be coming). title fights were arranged, air tickets purchased all waiting for the transfer of funds from thailand.

Frankly; they did not materialise. someone lied.

through hard work and the goodwill of the existing sponsors and a change to the fight order the show will go ahead as scheduled.

try to appreciate the effort and rejoice in a success.

In life we meet good and bad, positive and negative.I am listening and learning whether good or bad.I do like good criricism but dislike nonsense.
When there is a negative but give me to do more things in positive and in ten fold.I will strife to be better with in mysylf and work hard for Sport and Martial Arts I love dearly.Every seconds, minutes, hours I never go far away from Muaythai.Kay-my wife and I devote ourselves totally for what we belief in.

i know Namphon lost his last fight but it was aginst the current WMC and Raja champ at 63.5 so hes obviously fighting the best fighters in the world....why would the ranked 1 fighter at 61 in Thailand be nervous about fighting a kid from Leeds!!!! Dont be ridiculous and get your real name up for fuck sake cos we know it aint that!!!!!!!
Damiens fight is gonna be explosive no doubt and i wish i could watch (i wish it was on the same show as this) cos its gonna get won by KO either way imo. but theres 2 top stadium fighters and Britains best all on this show!!!! So you spend your money on goin to that fight and do me a favour while your there, Tape it cos i wanna see it!

Really there oughtta be some on line regulation that prevents anonimity. A man ought to be held accountable for the words he speaks.

If a man can't be proud of the words he says and want to lay claim to them, perhaps he should not speak.

Mr Unrecognisable (lol)
Dave Croft
Posted: 2007-10-17 08:26:27
To be fair Russ a ban would work if there was an agreement that members might boycott the site if there was continued abuse of the sign in name privaledge.

I mean a non de plume, alias, nick name or whatever is great as long as the reader knows the authors real identity. My gym still enjoys a generic post name of lee murray (so called cos its my porn name) and the guys in the gym can use it if they wish but only if they sign off as themselves. Besides the profile says its our gym which narrows the field.

Oh and Russ regards that other matter. Its moving forward. Go off line for more LOL

I'm going to be the bearer of bad news for this one guys. It's highly unlikely Colin will be fighting on this show. He picked an injury up in his fight last week.

Training has not resumed in any way shape of form. I am giving him until Sunday then I will make a decision. It's about 10% he will fight. Chris Polly is a strong fighter and we need to be on top of our game to beat him. Having a club foot with no ankle shape whatsoever tells me 4 weeks to get it right is impossible.

Master Sken will confirm the shape of it as he's seen the pic.

Bar a small miracle this fight will have to take place in Feb 2008

Liam win by KO....I doubt he will want to leave it to the judges again this time.

Duwao win on points, but by discombobulation.
After working with him for the past few weeks, he has to be one of the sneakiest, quickest Thai's I have trained with. So sharp, so quick, so sneaky.
Added to the fact that he has only ever been dropped once in his fight career, I dont think Andre has the artillery to bother him.

Both are gonna be cracking fights.....just gutted I am not gonna be there to see it.

i just had a chat with master sken and one idea put forward which if accepted and trialled succesfully may change the way thai boxing events are run.

basically you have as on this show up to 8 A class, premium fights (when typically the norm would be to have just the one head lining fight) and they will run 1 to 8 without interruption save for required timed intervals. and all this will happen after a break. an interlude if you will. before that will be warm up fights and maybe a demo of sorts. all this whilst people eat, drink and settle in. kinda like the old b movie before the main feature. and its these fights that will get the atmosphere loaded and ready for the main bill.

shows will be judged upon the head line fights and guests can decide their level of committment to time watching.

we'll see

i think shows should be done as they are in Thailand with the Main fights being in the middle and the lesser experienced fighters being on after the main fights!!!!

i always remember thinking how bad it is when the crowd are up and leaving the arena whilst the last fighters are still stood in the ring waiting for the results to be announced. kinda detracts from the moment eh?

with the nature of this show and the card being so loaded with talent it probably aint gonna matter.....or have you a date? tell the truth lol

I was thinking to organise the show the same way as in Thailand,I know that many people will leave the show early, trial and tested it did not work very well.I think Liam wants to get it over and done with and heading for a party, don't you think.Liam I keep the best to last, agreed?

ahhh so your putting Duwao on last then lol...well said master sken Duwao is the best he should be last :) :)

was speaking with Duwao about some of the notches on his belt earlier they include

Anuwat x2
Petaek Sor suwanpakdee
Waterachai Keasamrit
Khunpinit Kaewsamrit
Chanrit SitO

5 fighters and all were champions at Rajadamnern...very impressive! Duwao aint really training much as he is busy teaching but i still dont see him losing! Can Kotsur make 61.5 comfortabley he looks big?

When I promote the shows,I get real good feeling about the fights and Match Making,Duwao V Kotsur will be one of the best fights of the show and the year.I also know that Liam"The Hit man" will want to hit back and get the World Title he deserves,I get the feeling, this is THE REMATCH which many people want to see and support Liam.Numphol is the World Champion will not want to loose his title.Definitely it will be the fight of the year 2007
I understand what you are saying Liam,but...but you are fighting for the WORLD TITLE.Naturally the main event is yours and last fight of the show O.K.

briancal duwao is old now and although still a very very good fighter not the the same as he was when he beat khunpinit anuwat etc and as liam sais not training very hard also kotsur is big too dont count kotsur out he is hard as nails but if money was going on it i would go duwao points but could see kotsur with an upset

i see liam to win via ko this time hopefully wth abhuge barage of punches and not get caught up with the awkward style of numphol

i very much doubt kotsur can stop duwao, ok duwao aint as young as he used to be, but he still fights raja main bouts, and is fit and very very clever, still going duwao points or stoppage.

Duwao is old now?
Come off it..... He must be 26 at the most!
At training last night he was clinching with 70+kg fighters and throwing them all over the ring. He is freakishly strong!
Sure, he is small. He is walking round at 59-60kgs at the moment so has no weight worries, hence he is just play sparring all the time.
This is what thai's do. Its rare to get thai's that train as focussed and as intensly as westerners as we are so hung up on time restraints etc. They just want to have fun.
Theres no doubt that Kotsur is hard as nails, but I think this will be a demonstration showing different leagues. Not necessarily in awesome whack-off power, ending with a KO....more like Duwao being so sneaky, Kotsur wont be able to get near him. Duwao has (infamously) only been dropped once in his fighting career, and this is fighting top level punchers like Anuwat etc.
The skills he has dealt with that list of champions above must tell you something....they dont just leave over night.
I'll still go for Duwao on points.
I'll even go as far to say 50-46 across the board.

"Age is not, and never should be considered an inability"

Power to stop anyone at that weight?
Except Nico Veresen who weighed in light.

These are the matches you want to see, ones that get everyone talking. I think Kotsur was awesome against Nico earlier this month but I have to agree with the Bad Co' boys, Duwao has been in with the very best...and beaten them.

Can't wait

Dave Croft

not a prediction just a opinion. alex lost last time these guys met in the ring and wants to draw level. leroy comes to the ring on the back of a win against craig so will be bouyant and confident. it will be a worthy fight on a top show.
Wainey
Posted: 2007-10-27 07:41:51
id go for leroy for a comfortable points win, as dave says hes coming off a good win and will be confident, he proved he had a good chin against tim thomas at pain and glory. it should be a good entertaining fight but i think leroy will take it, but who knows elbows mean cuts. best of luck to both!
noi666

I think Alex wants that Rolex, if its still on the table!!!!!
Alex is very dangerous with his elbows. I think Leroy may have a little bit of a height/reach advantage, but Alex is coming down in weight so may have a strength advantage.
Either way its gonna be a cracking fight.
Dave Croft
Posted: 2007-10-27 11:01:27
alex has fought above his ideal weight twice now. firstly losing to marc sargent at 72kg. and then a good win against pete adams at 71kg. this ones back at 67kgs so im hoping he will be better suited to competing at this weight.

its alexs first 5 x 3 fight so theres plenty of challenges to over come before we get any where near the ring.

its good to see wainey doesnt see alex losing by any other medium than points. if you're still stood up in the ring fighting you have every chance to win up till the last bell rings.

good luck richard by the way. i'll call ya soon.

I like both of them,Leroy is a rising Star,he has proved himself against very experienced opponent. When I saw him fighting,he's relaxing and enjoying the fight.Alex is very good guy, when he has a focus and a believe in himself. He can fight anyone at this weight.I think at 67 kg is very good weight for him.
It'll be a cracking fight and all the best to both of them.

I am rather glad i did not part with my hard earned cash straight away - 3 weeks to go and matches still being made.

Find it hard to see the thinking behind the Lee Morgado rematch or should i say mismatch. I watched the last fight between these two and Lee won with ease against Dave Crofts figher. It would be better to match these two with other fighters. Lee is an A class fighrt and considerably better than Alex who i don't think is an A class fighter yet.

Andy Howsan will KO his opponent if he has lost at 52.5kg. Andy will be too big and strong Why not bring the winner from Japan over?

The two other shows have better fights for the neutral. If you like KO's then the 'Super Show' is for you if you want to watch class truly even matches i'd suggest Damien vs Runchai or the Wolves show.

Posted: 2007-11-01 15:11:47
Peter, I think you'll find that with any show matches are still being made when the date of the show has been announced. Also 9 times out of 10, fights are chopped and changed last minute and that's something that the promoter has to deal with unfortunatly due to last minute hiccups.

You seem to be very narrow minded about this, but hey, Master Sken could easily refuse to sell you a ticket or let you in at the door if you do decide to show up at the show. It would be your loss as there are some cracking fights on that show (and being very biased here) with Laim H looking dangerous and Andy now back on form from injury and Duwao. Not to mention Michael Dicks, Andy Thraser and more. What's not to watch there?!

You are always plugging the Damien vs Rungchai fight as THE fight to see on that show, but what about the other fights that are on that show, you don't mention them if they are "class truely even matches".

The best shows are always (again being biased) Leeds Town Hall and Master Sken's shows! I haven't yet been to a Power Of Scotland yet but they tend to have a good line up.

No being biast there beanie, bang on springs to mind!!! £30 to watch what WILL be the show of the year, thats not taking anything away from other shows mind. Peter you obviously think it could be matched better and thats your opinion (a wrong one at that) my opinion is its well worth the £30 I have paid and got a couple of my friends to pay and we will ENJOY it! No fights on this show will be easy for any of the fighters and the better man will win each one. Well done Master Sken for puttin a cracking show together, good luck to you.

im not going to defend my accepting a rematch for alex. and happily conceed this is alexs first A class fight. And indeed whilst im on it will fully acknowledge the last time these two fought alex did not perform to the best of his ability. would you advocate that there are never any rematches? that there could never be extentuating circumstances that pre determined a decision.

Leroys a cracking fighter and im trusting that alex will be a match this time and that it will be a great fight.

i note you still post with negativity and scorn and cannot understand the mileage you get from it. you post with an annonomous profile to which lessens your opinion somewhat. however; every man must choose his own indentity in life and you prefer anonimity.

You can please some of the people, some of the time.
But you cant please all the people, all the time.
But I would say the majority of people are extremely happy with the way this promotion is panning out.

There maybe many reasons why Peter Smithson chooses to be so negative.
Maybe this is an alias for a coach who fighter has been overlooked.
Maybe this is an alias for someone who merely dislikes seeing the progression of the sport.
At the end of the day Peter Smithson chooses to be a faceless, anonomous name on the internet, and hence detracts from all the comments that he makes. He is not man enough to fill in a profile, and therefore makes his "internet voice" merely just noise.

One way or another there will always be negativity and nay-saying.
At the end of the day, we have a choice in how we respond to this attitude, and as Master Sken says, he uses this to fuel his determination in making things like this work.

Peter Smithson id like to fight the winner too, but as Master Sken say's he has searched for an opponent and can't find one. I was wanting to move down weight for this fight to 53.5kgs for the wmc euro title and was looking forward to it but as Master Sken has said Dale White is fighting for that title thew week before the supershow, he was promised the fight by wmc so i have to fight at 55kgs again, not up to me who i fight i leave that to the relevent people and trust there match making. Weight makes no difference Duwao is walking around at 60.5kgs at the mo and fights at 61.5kgs in Thailand and is ranked no 5 at Raja at that weight, he could easily make 57-58kgs to fight at that weight but he doesn't have to, he give's away weight and still wins with ease, most Thai's do. When i fought Kantipong 2 years ago it was at 55kgs and he is no1 at Raja at 53kgs but he weighed in at 57kgs for our fight, makes no difference so stop been a bell end and trying to take away people's achievments, you clearly no fuck all. Damiens fight with Rungchai is gunna be a cracker, but who else is on the show is all people are saying??? On Master Skens show there is at least 8 fights that could be the main event of any show and all that for 30quid is a bargin. You go and enjoy your show in birmingham and while im on it good luck Damien mate, hope you do the business this time around and hope to see you at Master Skens the following day fit and well. Noi,Tricia,Andy,Marc brown, briancal,Big Al,beanie baby and many well wishers to me and this promotion,I would like to thank you all.
Like Tricia said promoting the show is stressing, taking time, money and effort
plus personal sacrifice.
Overall I found that many trainers, fighters, promoters are working together as I found out that so many trainers, fighters and promoters have attended my shows in the past years.
Muaythai community is still very small and we still need each others. Some times
we fall out with whatever reason,I myself never intent to do wrong to no one.
It has been 30 years of my life in UK,I can offer my service as best of my ability to Muaythai and everyone involved.
I would like to ask Peter Smithson to organise the show yourself then you will find out how it's done.Probably you can do it better,I will take my hat off for you.
We are on the same boat,we must row the boat together. If one or many of us put feet in the water while others row the boat.We will get no where or much slowing down.
We are thinking about ourselves,of course likely so.But if we can do think for others, please do so.It will make our World is better place."Taking is in our nature, but giving will get rid of our greed".Let's help each other.

All i am saying is that the 'superfights' show does not live up to the hype we experienced prior to the line up being announced. With names like anuwat being banded about i expected a 'super' show. These fights are not super matches there i 5 which (in my opinion) will be one sided.

To the people posting unpleasant comments towards me if you wish to watch 80/20 fights that is your choice i would rather watch 3 close fights than 10 with a clear favourite!

peter smithson,
As stated before, you're entitled to your opinion even when your wrong, like in this case.
As for the "hype" the super show has lived upto the hype, this will show in how many attend this fantastic show, put on by Master Sken.
Who are you to critisise Master Sken who has been putting on some fantastic shows since the early 80's.
What's your record, where's your proven expertease in Muaythai. These questions won't be answered because all your good for is critisising and trying to put people down.
You sad man.

to be fair pete your opinion lacks validity as a consequence of your continued anonimity. no one has said you are not entitled to your opinion and indeed master sken invited you to better his efforts by putting on your own show and really showing how it should be done.

im a little disapointed that you feel some of the matches lack substance because of either previous encounters/results (as you pre suppose with alex and leroy) or weight disadvantages or indeed because they are simply rematches full stop.

surely a fighter may improve his game and develop? I once had a fighter (still have but the pies got to him) who back then was a match for all the top line fighters of the day harrison, cadden, mc donald, khan and so fourth. but not now! they have continued to develop and far outstretched his achievements. he retired they continued. can a figher not develop to repeat my question?
can a promoter not host a fight that many would love to see again or one that trades experience for weight dis/advantages?

infact i confess I had considered asking the moderators for your identity i was so incensed by your post content but then pulled myself up and smiled. fully realising you are both entitled to your opinion and anonimity. you write well and from an informed platform. it would carry more sway if you announced who you were would be my only observation.

to Peter Smithson

if you don't have anything constuctive to say then don't say anything at all. its no good heckling from behind a closed profile cos all it does is make you look like a sad man as chris mcgough says. its easy to pour scorn from behind a computer screen. what are you doing to promote muay thai in this country??

i for one don't care who was 'supposed' to be on the show. the £35 on the door fee is a bargain to see Liam vs Numpon, Duwao, Andy Howson, Andy Thrasher, Michael Dicks and Frankie Hudders and all the hype is richly deserved. i don't think the intention of your posts has been misunderstood at all. its not what you say its the way you say it as my old man says.

best of luck with the show Master Sken and to all the people fighting on it.

I do take pride with Match Making,if anyone has been to my last show.It was very well matched.
The Super Show, I am certain there will be no miss-matches on my show.
When someone is clearly wanting to be negative, you will not be able to change that person's mind.
Let's smile and walk away.

I'm not sure which bouts will be one sided as they all look like great matches to me.

Liam Harrison v Numpon PK Sterio was one of the most exciting and controversial fights of the year and the rematch will be worth the ticket money alone. Never mind the opportunity to see TWO currently active Stadium ranked Thais on one show.

I personally cant wait to see this fight and I also cant wait to see Duwao v Kotsur as I know how good both fighters are. This fight is anything but one sided. I've been padworking Duwao and I cant wait to see him fight again.

Andy Howson's opponent Juw Tapee last fought for the WMC World Title at 52.5kg against Tomo Reid from Japan. Andy isnt fighting the winner of that fight because otherwise he'd be challenging for the WMC World Title. Tapee will be a good test for Andy and has recently fought at a higher level.

Dicks v Ameur is also interesting - Ameur is a typical well schooled, experienced and strong French fighter and this fight alone woiuld be be a main event on most other shows.

If Peter Smithson thinks that there will be better shows to go to thats fine and is up to him. Damian Trainor v Rungchai will be a great fight on a good show, Dean Whites show the week before and Muay Thai Superfights this weekend. So rather than getting upset and turning on one another we should be happy that the sport is so strong with so many great shows and choice for supporters.

I don't think that £30 for the quality of fights on this show is to much to ask.

I also see no point in trying to guess which anonomous person is which, just don't get involved in arguments as to who is who and who said what. The shows will be judged by the fights on them.

I also agree with Richard, we should be celebrating the quality of shows that are being put on almost every weekend in this country!

Don't usually post any comments on here, but felt it would be rude not to thank Master Sken for giving me this oppotunity. He has gone to a lot of trouble to arrange this at short notice, despite the fact that with only 9 days left (dave) ;-) he has an awful lot on his plate, just goes to prove the critics wrong again. Master Sken works very hard to put on the best shows he possibly can, at times with little thanks or profit. Just hope i can do the job and make it 3 out of 3 for england, while I'm here i might as well wish howson, liam and Duwao the best of luck, was up there sparring with them last week, it's going to be a very exciting show, cannae wait pets.

Frankie pulled out ages ago. Obviously Michaels pull out was unexpected but one of those things that happen in such a violent sport as muay thai. Kotsurs decision was inexusable and will now prompt a situation that requires fighters and trainers to enter into contracts. Another step closer to having muay thai recognised as a top flight professional sport in this country.

No one knows yet who he will fight in Thailand. The Match Making Kotsur V Duwao
was top quality.
But let's watch Duwao V Sofiane Derdega,Frence fighters have proved themselves in Muaythai World.
Andy Thrasher V Redwan Ameur,do not go to the toilet, you will miss a KO.
Andy Howson has got a dynamite in his hands V Jao Tapee is tough and technical,he will want this title back to Thailand.
Liam"The Hit man" can hit with punches and last fight his ko'd was by Elbow.
I did not see Numpon against Liam,I believe he is very technical. He will want to prove he is the Champion.
Panikos is very technical but Darren Cashman is very tough and relentless.
Dave Southern is very technical but Danny Hadfield is very strong and determine.
Steven Brown is very tough against John Dennis, who has dangerous punches and very tehnical and experienced Trainer:Peter Feeley
Steven Jones is always very dangerous V Dennis O'Brien who will come to fight and bring the fight to Steven,it will be a battle.
Leroy Morgado is a Rising Star, you will never be disappointed with his style of fighting and hungry for the Title V Alex Abusin who is very eager to win this fight(The Rematch)When he is focus and believe in himself,he is very dangerous.
We always have only fights ,I try to give Spectators entertainment, let's watch the demonstrations and relaxing.
Have a good day at the show.Thank you to you all.

Or one of the demos

Thrasher has mangled my leg today, if he's still in one piece after the Frenchman I am gonna take a baseball bat to him in training next week!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear the Duwao V Kotsur fight isnt happening.
To take a fight only 2 weeks before fighting Duwao is ridiculous.
Glad you got a replacement fighter so quick.

I am gutted I cant be there to see this whole show.

Good luck to Master Sken for the promotion. Hope it all runs smoothly.

Kotsur fought a French/Algerian lad on a show in Russia 2 weeks ago. It was live on Eurosport and just happened across it whilst channel hopping. I thought it strange he was fighting so close to Master Skens show but thought nothing of it.

I think it was some sort of prestigious Muay Thai showcase i.e. the annual top show in Russia, but still no excuse. Poor conduct, poor respect.

Absolutley FANTASTIC SHOW Master Sken! Took along two friends who didnt have a clue what Thai Boxing was..... Now they wanna take lessons and was asking when is the next show! Well skilled fighters every bout, no one sided fights, no easy fights. Great venue, good atmosphere and demonstrations were great to watch also. Pleased I got to see Duwao fight, hes a guy on top of his game. Andy Howson showed true heart and durability as he was caught a few times (in fairness though never looked in deep trouble) and finished his fight with awesome, hurtful punch and knees to the stomach. (ricky hatton eat your heart out.lol) Andy Thrasher had a war with a very durable french lad which towards the latter rounds was looking a bit tired but hung on for a pts win. Leroy Morgado looked impressive, as did John Dennis. It was clear to see Liam Harrison was'nt for letting his fight go to the scorecards, as he matched every shot Numphon threw and infact gave back much more! Irrelevant of the result in leeds, (which I think he won) he made sure tonight in what can be described as a professional clinical job. So well done to the new WMC and SIMTA champions. On the last note, there was talk in above posts of this not being value for money and negative remarks about the show....how wrong can some people be! If this is the future in terms of Master Skens shows then what a privaliged lot we are.

The show was great, the venue was superb, teh figths were good and well matched. I probably would not have bothered with the demo's, but you need some breaks.

Didn't see al the fights but those I did, Panikos had to endure a torid time with the agressive Darran Cashman, esp in the 4th, but took a good points win.

Leroy looked good and stronger than before from the bits I saw of his fight.

Duwao was aboslute class, so much time, and so strong!!

Andy howson used his get out of jail card. he turned the figth round in the space of 30 or so secs. he took a count from a good jumping knee in the first, caught the Thai with some good boxing in the 2nd, but the Thai seemed to have recovered and swas scoring well and just seemed to die. A couple of knees and a left body kick started the trouble and a peach of a left body hook finished him off.

Andy Thrasher I think put in his best performance to date to loose a split decision against the current wmc Euro champion. I think he won the fight, he landed to many good body kicks and knees. He was put down for a count with a spinning back fist but was not hurt, he got up and took the fight to the French lad, winning the round apart from the knock down. This hsould make the round 10-9 loss not 10-8. He was moved backwards of a push kick, spun and kneed once as he was going down. he did take a few good low kicks, but the punches he got hit with were not hurting him, even the one that knocked his gum shield out, The rst of the fight was his, to many good body kicks. AS a rule I am negative in the corner and tend to think we have lost in close figths, but I think we got ths one and can't wiat to see the video. I am not really bothered about the loss becaue at least we know Andy can mix it with guys of this class.

We want a rematch!!! It was superb fight!

Liam was class. I was a bit worried to start with, I thought Liam looked a bit tense and the fight was gonna slip away from him, esp when he chucked his gum shield out. At the start it was as if he was looking for the punch ko, but as soon as he started to Thai box, throw the body kicks and even knees (to a giant) he looked the stronger fighter. Nice body hooks opened him up and the finish was clinical! Excellant result.

The venue and the show raise the mark again I think for UK Thai Boxing

Just home & shattered, so will keep it fairly short for a change! First of all well done to Master Sken on a great show, the fights were as always, great to watch, but the venue and setup were brilliant & hope to be back to enjoy it next year!

From where I was I thought Thrasher had won aswell, looked close though, IMO.

Some great fights & performances, which i'll comment on later, but the night belonged to Liam, great end to the night! Numphon was the same fighter that we saw in Leeds & but everytime I see Liam he seems to take it up another gear, brilliant, congratulations mate!

this is my view on the fights i saw
leroy murgado = good prospect and glad he didnt get the early finish i thought he was going to get as the 5 rounds will do him good .

duwaou = the last time i saw him fight was against my son , and because of the obvious sway of bias, i didnt see what all the fuss was about . but having since had the pleasure of watching him in the gym and teaching the bad company studentsi understand the sport a lot better , now getting to tonights fight i see why people go on about him , i know people will say , or think his opponent wasnt in the same league , but i for one enjoyed his show.

andy howson = he is one of the fighters i love to watch , probably the most entertaining for the public anyway , what a heart this lads got that sometimes gets overlooked and i cant wait for the pos 4 8 on one cos i;ll take bets of people now he wins !!!!!!!!!!

liam = now then i taped it so had to watch it through a little screen , imagine that , watching your son fight for the title he thought he won 5 months ago through a small window .so just watched it all now and have to say he was going for this with a desire i havnt seen before . i dont normally go see him in the changing room , just wait outside patiently like the rest whilst shitting myself .i sneaked in today and sampled the atmosphere of a changing room and loved it . i could see what makes a fighter get in the zone { as to speak }.
any way sorry to waffle on , but makes a change to read what someone who doesnt know the game really well thinks .
p.s
not bad demos, really entetaining but too many of them , great venue and buy the dvd if you wasnt there.

Every fight was a goodun, but special congrats to Panikos and Dave Southern.... and a OMG to Andy Howson surviving that jumping knee and then taking him out with body shots!! AND a very very special and whole hearted congrats to Liam a hell on a finish and becoming WORLD CHAMPION!

Congratulations to Liam Harrison - radar-like left hooks finished the job he started a few months ago in Leeds Town Hall. Good fight up to that point, Numphon very clever but Liam looked like he knew what he needed to do this time.

Andy Howsons never in a boring fight...the Thai lad looked tricky and strong and it looked like a hard nights work until he started landing those body shots!

I agree with the other comments re Andy Thrasher, very close bout and surely he deserves another crack !

Also enjoyed Leroy Morgado v's Alex Abusin - a very entertaining bout right to the end !

Duwoa was pure class - he tied the french lad in knots with his feints, always in control and one step ahead, picked him apart...highlight of the evening was his "Oasis Swagger" celebrations though !! LOL

All bouts well matched, and the venue was top-drawer - congratulations Master Sken !

Congratulations to everyone that fought on Master Skens Supershow what a great days entertainment, apart from some of my students I also had a couple of boxing pals come to the show that normally go watch pro-boxing,but after only two bouts were saying that they want to come to the next Supershow! They said the tickets were very cheap considering the superb venue and the quality of the fights, they had been paying up to £70-£80 a ticket for boxing shows featuring only a handful of bouts.
Well done to all,DUWAO was AMAZING!,Andy Howson was DEVASTATING!!,LIAM HARRISON was AWSOME!!! [Like a ninja turtle!],I was very impressed with John Dennis too his fight was a pleasure to watch.

As for the fight. Last time these guys fought it was'nt a fight. Leroy dominated from start to finish. We did our work, we trained and we tried again. It was Alex's first time at A Class. I believe in fighting the best you can, always striving to improve. Leroy is a rising star and a worthy champion. I hope Alex made him work for it this time. Congrats to Leroy and Vinny. Well done and thanks to Master Sken for putting on such a great show and for giving our guys the opportunity.

Its an excellent venue and the standard of all the fights was a great example of how much Muay Thai is coming on in the UK.

Well done to Liam Andy and Duwao too.

Duwao has been teaching in the gym and is an amazing coach and has brought a lot out of the guys and taught me a lot too. He's put a lot of work in with Liam and Andy and the improvements are clear to see. He's been working hard sparring, clinching and on the pads with me for the last couple of weeks but for this fight he never really needed to get out of second gear.

The French guy came to fight and is obviously a good fighter. He had a go in the first round and threw some dangerous looking punches but Duwao was in controll all the way through. I loved watching him fight and was gutted that it finished so early.

Andy is always value for money and never has a boring fight! He has the heart of a lion. Tapee was strong and determined and obviously very skillful, using his push kick and movement to stop Andy'd attacks and keep him on his back foot. He hit him with a great jumping knee that would have finished a lot of fighters. Andy doidnt really recover for the rest of the round and only started getting back into it part way through the second.

The first body shot in the third was sickening and took all the fight out of the Thai but he carried on and Andy kept working the body till eventually the guy folded. Amazing performance and an amazing fight.

Liam's was amazing too - he was really up for the fight and has trained single mindedly for it. We've trained differently this time and put a lot of new stuff into his armoury and he was a different fighter than last time he fought Numphon. Having said that it was clear that Numphon had trained hard and was taking it seriously as he was in really good shape and employed different tactics. He boxed more and switched stance but non of it was enough to keep Liam at bay. Liams technique and tactics helped but this time it was his pure agression and desire that ended up being too much for Numphon. When he smelled blood there was no stopping him!

It was a great day for UK Muay Thai, a great day for Bad Company and a brilliant one for me personally. It doesnt get much better!

As for the fight itself Namphon had changed his game plan, and got himself in great shape...after the 1st fight i wasnt sore or hurting at all but today i feel like ive been hit by a train....he was stopped to the body by current Raja champ Singmanee in his last fight and was ripped yesterday (he wasnt in the 1st fight) so had obviously been working his body conditioning. He also felt Physically stronger with his shots and also in the clinch...he tried to take it too me more this time aswell and landed some shots that i really felt...my own training had gone well tho and i was feeling really sharp!

Andy was ace great value for money and proved again why hes pound 4 pound probably the most exciting fighter in the country.

anyway enough of the waffling and just a big thanks to Splinter the cameraman, Brian and Jordan Calder, and everyone from Badco who came to support....lets all get massive and fat over xmas.

Wow what an amazing night for our family, me and liam are over the moon and still can't quite believe that we pulled it off. Got to say a massive thank you to Master Sken for the chance to fight on his show again, love it every time im on the show and he always looks after all the fighters that he has on his shows. The show last night was awesome, all the fights where top notch and the venue was amazing (we not bothering with george carnall any more Master Sken??lol) I have to thank Mr Smith as always but a massive thank you from me goes to Duwao, he has been amazing to train with over the last 3 or so months and i love him to death, he has taught me so much and i don't think i would have been able to hold my own in the clinch yesterday if it wasn't for all the work he has done with me recently (and Liam), so thank you so so much. Me and Liam are gunna miss him like crazy when he goes home in a few weeks, just hope he gets back here real soon. Can't believe i exposed my glass jaw though, what was that all about??lol getting dropped with a jump knee, how gay,ha. Oh well at least i showed i can take it and still come back to win. Thanks again to Master Sken and all involved in helping the show come together and looking forward to March already.

Absolutely brilliant show.

Liam H was incredible, hard as nails. What a brilliant way to win a world title fight. Three and a half close hard fought rounds and a proper KO in the 4th. Brilliant and the atmosphere was electric. Well done Liam, you made the judges job easy this time.

Performance for me though was Andy H who seems to just love a fight. After the first round I was really worried but he was relaxed and composed taking the full 8 count to recover (shows experience) and saw out the rest of round one.
After that though, he seemed to just grit his teeth, dig deep and go for it. The crack from that body punch echoed right through the venue and the crowd let out one of those "ooof" noises, haha, love it. I've only been watching thai boxing for two years now but that was the best comeback I have ever seen. Again, well done mate.

Sorry to go on but I'm still buzzing and I've lost my voice from shouting so much.

Loved the Chloe Bruce demo.

Well done Master Sken.

My take on the show,

Venue was top class, fights all good, great to see a show with all fights full rules and some 5x3s.

Best fight(action back and forth) for me was the Andy Thrasher fight,i agreed with the decision but thought it was close.

Most heart and desire to want to win was Liam Harrison,he just wanted it so much and would of walked through a brick wall to win(sounds like you did Liam!).

Duwao to much experience for his opponent, and he could of ended it how ever he wanted.

Best technical fighter for me was John Dennis.

All in all a great day for UK Muay Thai a very well done to everybody involved and especially Master Sken.

Another excellent show by Master Sken and a really nice venue. well done Master Sken; your hard work paid off (I hope it did financially as well). I loved the fact every fight was full-Thai rules and that every fighter was respectful, gave their best and did their coaches proud. Some great fights and some great performances on what proved to be another great night for British MuayThai.

I was really, really pleased for Liam winning in such a dramatic manner. What was even better in my eyes is that Liam was a point up going into the fourth and looked to be consolidating his lead before the barrage of punches finished the fight. He has always had great heart and a devastating punch but I feel he has added some maturity to his performances of late. I am sure Duwao will have played a role in that but also Mr Smith and Lisa. A really great win for British MuayThai generally and for Bad Co in particular.

Andy H also showed his usual grit and determination, coming back from a knockdown in the first to knock the air out of his Thai opponent's lungs. Well done mate, a really excellent win pulled from the jaws of adversity.

Duwao is a really, really class act. It's a shame his French opponent didn't have the experience to push him more and allow him show his true ability, but it was still a masterful and entertaining performance. Duwao toyed with his opponent and looked genuinely disappointed when his opponent's corner wanted to call it off. An outstanding fighter, a great coach and a really nice guy.

Alex and Leroy's fight was a very good one with both fighters demonstrating heart and skill. Dave C did a brilliant job on what was a very deep cut on Alex's head. Leroy remained focused and business like throughout working away and scoring with some nice techniques. Dave C has obviously worked hard on Alex and this made it a better fight than their previous encounter. Both fighters have improved significantly. Vinny is always playful and constantly joking but it is evident he really cares about his fighters and the sport passionately and it comes across in their performances.

John D showed some sharp techniques and some slick skills against a very game and resilient Scottish warrior. John's opponent had some success in the clinch early in the fight but was eventually stopped by a series of excellently timed techniques. Well done John and Peter.

I agree with Dazza, I thought Andy T fought the best technical fight of his career so far. He used his head (metaphorically) and focused on landing scoring techniques and showed some really nice skills during the fight. Dazza has worked hard with Andy on his technique and it has certainly paid off. Although it is not easy to both judge and referee well, I thought Andy did win the fight. However, I will reserve judgment until I have seen the video and judged it properly. Other than that decision (which was a majority decision) I think all the others were unanimous and very well judged.

A great afternoon and evening.

Well done Master Sken on a

Brilliant Show

Brilliant Venue

Brilliant Fights and a

Brilliant End.

John Dennis impressed me it's the first time I have seen him fight and he is good.

I loved his Ram Muay it was different class and one of the best I have seen in this country quality.

Duwao was outstanding and brilliant to watch a true world class fighter and we were gutted that it ended so quickly, same as everyone else really.

Andy Howson what a comeback mate you were awesome, the heart the size of Leeds mate, a true warrior who is getting better everytime I see him. Well done lad even though you now have a glass jaw lol.

Liam Harrison I had the first round 10/10, the second round 10/10, the third round 10/9 to Liam and in the fourth the Sterio wasn't tuned in and he got star spangled all over the dancefloor by a Smooth Criminal who goes by the name of "THE HITMAN" the perfect end to a brilliant day.

Well done mate you deserve it, no airs and graces and a very humble man. So pleased for you and your family. Brilliant for Muay Thai in the UK and brilliant for Bad Company in Leeds, well done guys.

Just a quick one from me, to again thank master sken for giving me the oppotunity to fight a class opponant. The whole day was a pleasure, great fights, venue and atmosphere, kind of makes me want to bring up the negative comments from a certain someone on this thread, but they've gone very quiet indeed,so no need.Although I didn't get the desicion, I didn't really feel like I lost, but will wait to see dvd before i comment, Tricia you're right, still sinking in now that the gaffer was pleased (although he'll give me grief for something guarenteed), anyway Frodo and Bilbo winning the belts made my day, well deserved both of you,Thanks to everyone who came to support from the gym, sponsors etc, back in training tommorrow, can't wait for the next one already.

Hello...
I wouldnt normally comment on my judging but as Tony Myers has said i got it wrong I will.

I was one of the 2 judges that gave the fight to the French fighter, the other was Paul Hamilton.

I have been on the end of a lot of dodgy descisions abroad as has Paul and believe you me as much as I wanted Andy to win I couldn`t write it that way on my score card.

I had rounds 1 and 2 even and then the third was 10/8 to the French fighter due to the knockdown. This could well have been scored 10/9 if Andy had done enough but I didn`t see it that way although I think Paul did. The Frenchlad was scoring with lots of low kicks (Low kicks cant be ignored if they are moving the opponent) that were moving Andys legs from under him and badly marking them up and although Andy got some great body kicks the French lad also landed some of his own (maybe not as many or as hard but we have to assume effect)

This may come down to how many heavy obviously effective low kicks = one body kick with assumed effect?

Round 4 (a big scoring round) was pretty even but the French fighter scored big with a turning off balance and knee to the head of the falling opponent. I was gonna score it even but for this so i had to score it 10/9 for the French man

Going into the final round I had Andy 3 points down and he pulled it out and won the round 10/ 9 to Andy

My score card was
Andy French
10 10
10 10
8 10
9 10
10 9
47 49

I think Paul scored it the same but gave the 3rd 10 9

The third judge gave it 3 points to Andy.

Before everyone makes a judgement on whether the judges were right i think you should all watch the fight. (Good plug for the DVD Master Sken!)

Anyway, Andy you fought brilliantly and I am sorry that I was part of the reason you lost but at the same time I dont think I have seen you fight this well before. You are more than capable of mixing it with the best and your time will come.

I spoke with Andy just after his fight and commented that I hadnt seen enough of what was shaping up to be an excellent fight to comment knowgeably. But that with what I saw of his performance he deserved to win. Deserving to win of course does not mean you did i wasnt a judge so i'll wait to see the dvd. But i will say its important that a judge can explain his reasons for any given decision and do so illustrating the why. In my opinion if you agree with dave or not is of no consequence. he has explained his thoughts and has many many years of experience and knowledge to support his ideas. open and frank exchange of ideas improve the sport.

Thought i would say and i think all who witnessed it will agree the french lad on many occasions looked to be breathing heavily and on the verge of physical collapse from exhaustion and then just spring back into action with controlled technique and attack.
TonyMyers
Posted: 2007-11-28 03:19:56
Hi Dave, I didn't actually say you were wrong mate. I did say my impression as a referee was that I thought Andy won but I would reserve judgment until I see the video as it can be difficult to judge and referee. As you correctly point out, the issue is the comparative effect of the French fighter's low kicks, the effect of Andy's body kicks and Andy's knees to the back etc. I think Paul gave the fight to the French lad by one point, and Dean the fight to Andy by one point. I know speaking to Dean that he also felt, like you, the knock down round was a 10:8 round but gave round two to Andy and not a drawn round. I certainly don't want to make an issue out of one decision on a show that was well judged, but I think the issue of low kick effect versus body kicks is an important issue to explore and if I do end up disagreeing with you mate I will refer the issue to Thai judges for their opinion.

TRAINEE JUDGE…. done the training with Tony.

I was trying to judge all the fights on Sunday

I have to agree with Dave Jackson's card.
I scored it exactly the same but I would have given 10/9 in round 3 with Andy coming back strong after the standing count.

I was with every one looking for the win for Andy as always but I did score a loss.

But great entertainment and all action as usual from Andy

No probs Tony...just wanted to clarify exactly how and why I scored it the way i did.

My understanding on the leg kicks has always been that leg kicks only score if there is a visible effect (i.e. movement or loss of position) whereas body kicks score regardless.

It will be interesting to get that clarified

I wouldn't like this to become a debate on judging, and I certainly do not want people falling out over it, that will take the gloss of Andy's performance. It was a good fight and we want a rematch. Everyone who enjoyed it and thinks Andy deserves another crack, lobby Master Sken or whoever can make this fight happen and lets do it again for his title.

Andy was back in the gym today training and can't wait to be back in the ring again!!!!!!

I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone for kind words, support and comments.I am exausted with preperation and running the show but it is certainly worth it,I can tell you that it is not financially but for Muaythai is great. With in the same week and month, there are so many Muaythai shows which I think Muaythai in UK has reached very high level of popularity as Sport.
It is not possible only myself alone to promote and run Muaythai show smoothly, many freinds, staffs, trainers and fighters, sponsors and of course spectators helped to make the show very possible.I would like to thank you all.
I know how difficult it is to organise the show, let us not forget to congratulate Promoters who also play very important part in promoting Muaythai in United Kingdom.I would like to mention and extend my sincere thoughts and freinship to very good promoters of Muaythai shows.
Congratulation to:
Richard Smith,Steve Logan,Paul Hennessy,Dean White,Gary O'Brien,Alan Keddles
Nash Keshwala,Jesse Saunders,John Jarvis,Sean Toomey,John Craig,Barry Norman
Sandy Holt,Pele Nathan and Tricia,Paul Kelly,Stevie Nesbit,Peter Feeley,Howard Huges,Darren Phillips,Lee Powell,Neil Holden,Alby Bimpson, The Golden Belt Team,Jeff Bullocks,The Bull Dog Team,Ryan Rudkin and many more....plus Interclub and Amateur Promoters.
If I miss anyone, please forgive me.
Congratulation to Andy Howson and Liam Harrison,I am absolute delighted to be part of your career and success in becoming WMC World Champion for Liam and WMC Intercontinental Champion for Andy.Congatulation to Richard Smith and Lisa Smith,Duwao and Team BADCO.I also would like to congratulate Dave Southern,Sitnarong St.Helens for winning his Area title,Mark Tunley and I have been working very hard in helping Dave to acheieve his goal,he is a very dedicate and a brilliant student.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to World Muaythai Council,Stephan Fox and Ralph Beale who helped to sanction the Championship and organise Visa and travelling etc. With out WMC and above mention of dear freinds of mine,I do not think it would be possible to organise such prestigious titles.I am really believe in WMC titles as Supreme titles and I will continue to support WMC for many years to come.
Sorry for very long post, but I feel it's too short for thanking every body.
Next year the show will be on Sunday 24th February at GHC,this show will be few A CLass fights but will give more chance for Rising stars and will be really big show in November 2008.
See you all very soon.May I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year.
P.S.Dave Croft, many thanks for your help.A freind in need is a freind in deed.thankyou once again.

this is the reason you dont see me judging or reffing. Sod that. Far too contraversial. While i am an avid supporter of the preservation of thai style through the scoring system I dont ever like to lose the view of it being a fight. I think that has happened in the ABA's to much. I think it is important that if two competitors go against each other with differing styles that even though we should always lean towards the thai style of scoring we must always rememember that their style ought to be good enough to overcome naked aggresion, hard low kicks and combination punches.

Having said that I often I see a fighter pushing forward throwing lots of low kicks and punches, many not landing. There is often a misconception that wins a fight when in fact it is accuracy, effect, landed manouveres and most importantly balance that wins. Work rate for me alone isnt enough to take a victory in a sport that should demonstrate skill, balance and affect. If on the other hand the operator not having good control, balance and style is not being effectively countered then the win should go the other way. Muaythai is still young in the UK and many people will score it in the same way as a boxing match. There is a long way to go but I think we are winning. There are many views on what should and shouldnt warrant a win but as I get older I am now more inclined to do what the thais do as that is the origin. It protects the style from becoming a brawl and ensures that in order to win at top level good balance and technique are required. I think it also requires more use of the weopons more difficult to use like kicks and teeb. However like everybody else thats just my view and I could well be wrong.

Hi Dave just want to say mate I'm not disputing your decision,(it wouldn't change the result anyway), I respect the way you and Paul judged the fight, the reason I was asking you about the scoring was to clarify for future reference, I was a little dissapointed with the result but,i can only blame myself(and that cheeky spinning back fist),you were not part of the reason I lost, I should have done more to secure the win,but was a bit lazy and sat back a bit thinking i had just done enough.
Anyway mate, thanks for the positive comments, really appreciate them, it was a good fight,I love to get into them kinda tearups and can't wait for the rematch,I'll just train and fight harder next time.
