Better plan is to get Liam H. to go, act disgraceful and see if Mark can figure out how to drive back to Leeds on the opposite side of the road/car...maybe Guy will let you practice up in Glasgow for a few weeks? And be sure to start a thread about it, or video it and upload for the AX'ers amusement.

yes mate i was one of the judges at that show, and i know that jenny keeping going even though getting tagged with some very good punches and finishing the fight will mean alot more than winning as it shows her heart and bottle, think thats worth more in many trainers eyes. best of luck to her on the show.

Need to find matches for:
Joe Colville, Shin Kick 86kg 3-1-1 B class

Saab Singh, Keddles 59kg A class

Billy Kinsella 9yrs old 38kg 1-0

Always the ones you dont want to lose that fall through!!!

And re the poster, Tom Watson was going to fight Alex Reid, but Alex got his knee operation through the day the poster went to print, so he had to pull out.

Dave Fensom was going to come back from Thailand to fight on the show, but he's had a better offer from a lady boy called willyfucksuck,so has decided to keep her, and her mother contented!! :)

Barleggs points win also looks in excellent condition

Posted: 2008-05-08 08:58:17
How on earth can you predict a 4th round stoppage win for Woodham when basically you know nothing about his opponent, and even if you did you're prediction is bollocks because you haven't got a clue what will happen in this fight.
BIG COL
Posted: 2008-05-08 09:09:38
Briancal,

Firstly you have no idea what I know, don,t know about anybody. Secondly Zebedee asked for preditions and I gave mine IMO. Do not start shouting your mouth before you even know who I am.

Sorry for giving my opinion hope I didn't offend anyone but obviuosly I offended briancal.

easy guys!!

Braincals going to stick up for Gordon, in the same way Big Col is going go for Jay, you're going to go for your guys.

Guy Ramsey wouldnt have put Gordon for this fight if he didnt think he could do it, so although Jay is the bigger name down here, Im sure it will be a competitive fight. Good luck to both guys.

Im really looking forward to Sheree vs Bonnie and Alix Vs Wainey

Posted: 2008-05-08 09:41:27
Theres a lot of scottish fighters coming through now that we dont hear about down here but like the guy who fought James France twice most are ridiculously tough so i wouldnt want to predict a ko besides all bets are off now unless harrison is down with the bucas then secret sidebets will occour. Excellent...

I would like to predict that if Nathan fights well and sees the Julie wall at FootKick, he might have a little tearup if we can get him on shots lol no breakdancing on a flatcap though please.

Whos coming anyhow? Its a Scottish invasion on this one. I want to see Hockings mangled dog hand its bigger than Davy Macs torso now.

wont be able to make this one, but im sure it will be a good event - always is - good luck jesse.
in terms of predictions i will obviously go with both jay and stuart from mungkorn dam. havent seen them training in a while (as im more involved in brazilian jiu jitsu these days) but i know they train like maniacs when preparing for fights.
jay will step in the ring with anyone and thats what makes him the warrior he is..he just enjoys fighting and muay thai.
stuart 'barmy' barlegs, is upcoming and will give it everything hes got to get one over on jon from ko as he has already beaten a fighter from mungkorn dam a few years back.
good luck to all
oh and smiekle hope you have a good tear up as well. never did get to see your fights on cd when you were down this way...and i cant make it this time either as im busy. but good luck mate...make sure you turn up on time haha

Just spoke with gordon smith......he lost on points to jay woodham but was very close and felt it could have went his way as did a few others. Unlucky mate and well done for going in against a tough experienced opponent rather than fighting nobodys just to get a good record!! Sure you ll be back stronger and showed a few people who doubted you!! Jojo also won points....well done both.

Wow What an awesome show this was.

Some amazing wars and excellent technical fights.

Form what I saw the fight of the night for me was mmmmmmmmm Do you know what I pull 2 fights apart they were all great.

Sheree vs Bonnie excellent display by Sheree and what guts from bonnie.

S Miekle vs Wajtek awesome for the first FTR of the night

Tomko vs Marc Sargeant That was a really fast past FTR fight and they were botyh still standing at the end.

I could go on all day.

Zoe Mason vs Claire Haigh Zoe just kept coming and coming and coming

Jon edwards vs Barmy Barlegs. Unlucky Stu as Jay said more leg kicks needed.

Dave Lapcas vs Joe Colville awesome fight

Simona Soukupova vs Jo Calderwood Jo looks to me to be a great young talent. Great fight.

Wainey vs Alix James Great fight Alex looked very tense.

Gonzalez vs Che Nam Never a draw IMO but you could agru about the dominance in the clinch from Wayne.

Finally after hal the mungkorn gym was of their trollies on magners.

Woodham v's Smith.

What a great fight to finish the night with an excellent display by both fighters of complete control and professionalism. Well done Jay time to take a well earned break.

Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who helped and supported the show.

Some cracking fights,

On my guys, I was really pleased with Joes performance, he did a great job against a good opponent in Dave Lapcas. Id like to thank Dave and Lorne for taking the fight at short notice.

On Ches fight, we all thought that Wayne had got the decision and were suprised when the decision was annoucned as a draw. We'd happily give Wayne a rematch. He is a great fighter, and true gent as well.

Thanks again to everyone....see you in December!!! :)

Was a great show, all ran smoothly and we were well looked after, thanks Jesse.

I didnt watch many fights but caught practically all of Sheree's fight - awesome to say the least.

Thanks to Tony, Liam, Dean and Wainey for a cool weekend, tough fight for my one dimensional style, I'll hopefully make some changes now! Catch up with you guys soon :)

Another well run and action pack show - well done guys!

Congrats to Liam, in his first ever competitive fight, kept it "bread and butter" and it worked well for him. Andy Wyre - a strong lad... the leg kicks had obviously taken effect from the first round and despite that he kept on coming forward for the 5 rounds showing great character.

Claire and Zoe - what a tough ol'fight that was!!! gutted for Claire, but chuffed for Zoe, who, as Big Col said, kept her composure and just kept on coming forward. I must admit to being a little surprised with the result as I personally thought Claire had done enough scoring more with legs kick and showing "effect" and well as being stronger with the knees in the clinch as opposed to Zoe's constant coming forward and punching - but the fight was close enough for me not to get the hump :o) Well done Zoe.

As a side note - Claire in now off to Thailand for a year to work, but I am sure she squeeze in some training - so happy travels girl! you do us proud and we'll see you when we're next out there!

first off would like to thank jesse for putting the fight on, and then to alix for taking the fight. think we had a good weekend and a good laugh, the way it should be. nobody getting in with alix is getting an easy ride as the buggers so strong!!!!!! im sure you tried to put a hole in my stomach, but i enjoyed it mate so thankyou to you sai and marc.
now id like to make a big thankyou to tony, without him i wouldnt be getting in the ring, thankyou for your time effort and all your help in and out the ring, one in a million!!!!!!! then you got the usual suspects, wouldnt be doin much without my best pal dean so a big thakyou for all your help and support over the weekend too, needed you there and you were, same goes for liam, not just train together but glad we are great friends!!!! thanks big tee and all who came down to watch me appreciate it!!!!!!
fight of the night for me from what i seen was sheree, so cool and just attacked against a strong opponent who never gave in, sheree just stepped up again to show how much a class act she is.
well done to jay, great win mate, and not much of an elbow war :) congrats mate. all in all a great weekend.

Well organised show as per from Jesse...thanks for the meal pal and for looking after us well. It was a really good weekend...big thanks to Si, Alix and Marc, who certainly helped to make it more enjoyable(all really great lads). I know some may have thought it strange that Wainey and Alix spent the weekend socialising, having a laugh and then fighting each other but for me that is what MuayThai is about...friendship and kicking the crap out of each other lol. Alix, making some minor changes in style is the easy bit mate... Si trying to teach you to be a tough, strong SOB wouldn't be so easy...but you don't need to make any improvements in those departments. Being so near to each other, it will be good for both our gyms to spend some more time training together, I am sure we would all benefit from it.

I didn't get to see that many fights but the bits I did see looked exciting. I did catch part of Jay's fight with Gordon...saw Jay considering another elbow war but deciding he didn't just want more than his mom to think he looked handsome after the fight, so decided against it and stayed on the outside in this one. Although I didn't see the whole fight it looked close and technical, well done both. I didn't see Jenny's fight (Newbury) but was pleased she won after her really hard fight in Crawley.

Sheree's performance against Bonnie was outstanding. Sheree has spent 5 and a half months in Thailand training with Pimu (which is bloody hard and an achievement in itself), came back worked really hard on consolidating changes in her style with Liam and me and it all paid off. She was outstanding in her use of a full range of weapons, which she applied clinically to win every round of her fight. Well done Sheree (Pimu would have been as proud of you as Liam and me were).

I know Bonnie was disappointed with her performance against Sheree but she should be proud of the courage and warrior spirit she showed; she really does have a heart the size of England. Technique can always to tuned up and changed here and there but nobody can teach that type of courage. Well done Bonnie...you are really a credit to yourself and your gym...you showed real courage in the fight and dignity in defeat.

I was also really proud of Wainey in his performance against Alix. Excellent performance mate. Wainey was really, really disappointed in his last performance in Woking, where he felt he had let himself down and was determined to make changes to his technique and it has paid off. We knew Alix was going to be a tough fight. Alix is always strong determined and always up for a war. However, Wainey stuck to the game plan and looked sharp and kicked and kneed very hard. Alix remained dangerous throughout the fight and was landing strong knees and elbows but Wainey kept his cool and countered really well. Alix and Si have a great attitude to the sport and Alix will definitely be back stronger still...probably very soon knowing him.

Good supportive atmosphere in the changing room...good to catch up with everyone again. Well doe again Jesse.

Big thanks to Jesse for having us on his show. Looked after us really well all weekend, thanks mate. Hopefully you'll have us back down again :)

Some awesome fights, too many to mention but big well done to Jojo and Gordon both showing great skill and determination against really tough opponents.

I wasnt too happy with how i fought but gonna work on those shortcomings and come back stronger. Though after cracking my knuckle in the 1st round then dislocating my shoulder in the 2nd i didnt think it was gonna be my night. Eventually stopping Wojtek with a knee in 4th i think? Tough lad and best of luck to him in the future.

There seems to be a really good buzz in training just now with everyone training hard together and this is really transpiring in the performances of the Caledonian fighters.

ace show jesse, thanks as always for having us up.
claire v zoe was an awesome fight and very close, after taking on sheree haliday and helen garnett,i was hoping for a slightly easier bout but it wasnt to be,claire was sharp with great ringcraft,i would not have been dissapointed with a reverse decision but i am very pleased zoe won.

sheree was very classy-great performance,it was good to see liam knowing what its like to have your missus fight, stress or what mate,i reckon in a couple of years youll be on here whinging and moaning like me!!

the ginger girl from ko gym had awesome knees and to beat nicola is a hard task.

good show for the female fighters, bit of a 50-50 male/female with good fights from jo calderwood and jenny sawyer too.
all the rest of the fights i saw were great, with a jay v gordon finish.gordons ankle must be agony today as it was huge.nath

great show jesse well done mate.

sheree was on top form and did in the ring what she has been doing to me in sparing since she came up with liam. Great technique, picking each of her shots and looking so relaxed and cool through out. well done SHEZZA! Bonnie did really well to take some of the shots she did showing great heart to continue fighting until the last bell.

Marc sargeant put in another good performance, after taking an 8 count in the first round he cleared his head showing he wasn't phased by his opponents aggressive style and came back strong with nicely timed elbows and solid body kicks which were very effective. well done mate.

Wainey v alix, wainey used his kicks well from the first bell, nice timing and side steping, they were very even in the clinch which both lads are very strong at. Great result for wainey and the gym, he stayed with the game plan tony had told him and it paid off, really proud of you mate. Alix is a tough lad and a very dangerous fighter and really did hit wainey with some good shots. he blocked well from the third round(i think it was the third any way) and moved in nicely in to the clinch. unlucky mate. (some of the knees they hit each other with would have snapped most people in half) full credit to the both of you.

Wayne from keddles looked very tide and sharp and had brilliant technique, really enjoyed watching him fight and would like to see him fight again soon.

first time i have seen miekle fight but looked quality. Seemed to pick each of his shot and had great timing.

Woodham was on top form very accurate and seemed to have a different approach and game plan to when i seen him last and didn't get involved in a war. nice one mate.

Excellent show Jesse, well done mate.

Gordon Smith v Jay Woodham
This was an excellent fight. Gordon has stepped up and demonstrated to a new audience what we have all known for a long time, he is one tough as nails, hard kicking maniac. This was def a step up for G, but he rose to the challenge and gave Jay one hell of a fight. Unlucky on the decision mate but you have proved your class and shown that you belong in that top ten circle. Well done to both lads.
On a side note, Jay seems like a top bloke, and after his cheeky strike (lol) he could not have been more apologetic. I love these contests where there are no ego's at play.

Stevie Meikle v Wojtek Nartowicz
Well done to Stevie for getting the win. I agree with the axer above who said that this was a good bout to kick off the FTR's.
Stevie didn't make it easy for himself but again showed some real grit and determination. (Word of advice mate...Listen to your corner, lol)
It takes a "special" kind of person to get a win after breaking his fingers, getting laced open with an elbow and dislocating his shoulder IN ONE ROUND, lol.

(That said, it also takes a "special" person to say things like "just because there's something you don't tell anyone and you deny it when asked, does not make it a secret" or "Before I fight, my sweat smells like survival" or "I'm going to snort some sambuca, who's up for it?") Lol

Jojo Calderwood v Simona Soukupova
Jojo was AWESOME. Her opponent was really tough and only knew to come forward, Jojo spent most of the fight on the back foot and was so composed and classy it was amazing to watch. She was clinical with every shot and she began dismantling her opponent at every range. Well done Jo on a great performance (the best I've seen you fight).

Finally, sorry to go on, Tommy Young impressed me just as much as our fighters, you have a really calming effect on everyone mate, you give great advice from the corner, constantly reassuring and a great ambassador for the club.

Cracking weekend guys and it was a pleasure to offer what little help I could.

I had a complaint that I match make too well as not enough KOs!!!! :)

Moment in the changing room for me was when Jay was shadow boxing, he did a jab, right upward elbow, and Pullen shuddered as brought back memories of what Jay opened him up with last December!

Also Robinson feeble attempt to get a limping Sheree to help him put me in the ice container, and as Sheree didnt want to, so he decided he couldnt handle my immense strength on his own!!! :)

Tomko vs Sargent - Normal Mike fight! attack attack, just went to sleep in the middle rounds and full credit to Marc... how Mike didnt cut him i'll never know! Could have gone either way but fair the draw! rematch?

Graham Parkinson vs Adam Hunter - Graham waited to much.. didnt move or push forward like he can... close but deffo Adam.. well done mate...

Jenny Sawyer vs Suzanne Munro - After the last hard fight she had Jenny looked so much stronger at this lower weight. She just relaxed and picked her shots well to good effect! Nice to see her smile and enjoy it!
