I predict that that fight is not 100% confirmed yet. Chris has commitements with Muaythai Premier League - we are awaiting their new dates due to their rescheduling from Thailand floods.
Be great to see Charlie in action on UK soil again as he's a major talent and currently making waves in Thailand. Reckon he'll make a statement to all the lads at his weight in this bout!!!
Iman Barlow (Assassins) vs Sophie Hawkswell(kiatphontip)
Sophie Hawkswell who on Xplosion 2 defeated Semtexs Hayleigh Jane Clarkson in march to claim the UKMTF british title is fighting rising star Iman Barlow who in her last outing at the Indigo2 defeated Darlingtons very tough Lanchana Green. This promises to be an absolute classic.
John-Paul Donoghue (Semtex) vs Adam Oxer (Scorpions) b class

Jp returns to Xplosion after a points win against k-stars Pete Rai and hige ko against Bangrajans Adam Donovan in previous shows also collecting the UKMTF southern Area in the process faces Scorpions dangerous Adam Oxer trained by Mark Wakeling. Prepare for fireworks!!
Kieran I think you should arrange for yourself to fight Mr Harrison. That will be top your show off nicely. And while you are at it lets have Jordan fight Michael W.
Carla Sullivan(Southern area champion/semtex) v Lanchanna Green(Northern Area champion/Darlington)
A classic North meets South match up!
Carla,a strong forward fighter, who in her last outing, beat the very technical Sally mcCarthy from Sukhothai,Bournmouth, will face Darlingtons Lanchanna Green, who,on the last XPLOSION @ Indigo2, showed enormous heart and skill against the very strong Iman Barlow !!
The deal sealer , the second of three main events at the Indigo2 at the O2 , March 31st , Watch this space for the third announcement.
Due to certain happenings Xplosion will now be hosting the much anticipated match up between Craig Jose (the Faktory) who will be defending his WMC MAD title against WMC European champion Michael Wakeling (Scorpions) at 72.5kgs.
Jose who lost on points to Michael in 2005 has been waiting for his chance for a rematch but this time comes off some very impressive wins against Kevin Harper and Daitan Jackson and of course will come as champion.
Wakeling who fought on Xplosion 6 vs Egon Racz from Slovakia winning on points and claiming the WMC European title in an absolute war and earlier in the year in a classic against Chris Shaw will be very confident come March 31st.
No doubt this is the making for the fight of the year and at the premier fight venue this is surely worth the ticket money alone
Revenge or repeat???
You decide.
Website with video interviews and highlight clips coming soon....
anyone betting? i will have however much someone can raise, on Wakeling to win, cannot see any other outcome. IMO Shaw is absolute quality now and Wakeling beat him when he wasnt 100%
Wakeling is my favourite uk fighter at the moment. Great aggressive style, everything he throws is with intent. I prefer his style than his brothers, who is also obviously very good.

Agree with Vinn ref Iman- she is the future of ladies Muay Thai in UK and will only get better and stronger with age- that fact alone is a scary prospect!
Now my boy Charles Sikwa is hoping to avenge his last two losses in England by beating the ex Australian Champion and earning the rematch with Lyndon Knowles for (hopefully) Lyndons titles later in the year.
Sikwa just turned 20, 19 months total martial arts training, 17 fights plus 2 Amateurs, having his 4th A class fight, never taken a count and has fought only good guys - surely that must be a record
James Snelling (Scorpions) vs Matt Sheedy (Eagles , Wales)
Eagles gym Matt Sheedy returns from a layoff against Scorpions very skillful James Snelling which could possibly be a contender for fight off the night!
Matched at 63.5kgs under A class rules.
one more match to be added to this very exciting card.
Sheedy v Snellng = two very skilled Nak Muay battling for rankings, Matt been away on the oil rigs working and helping me at the gym when he is home. He is really looking forward to this match and hoping to impress the 02 crowd

Next battle of the young guns pits Charlie Peters (Semtex) vs Reece McCalister (Phoenix) 68kgs 5x3mins A class.
Both guys recently spending long terms in Thailand and both having good success will no doubt be showcasing sublime skills learnt from their time away. Charlie only 21 , recently winning Wmc interim championship in Thailand and having fought on Xplosion 2 , will have the home crowd behind him
Against the man from County Durham who himself is only 20. His time in Thailand he won two Chaweng stadium titles and also managed a great victory in Australia.
Expect and epic battle between two hungry fighters.
Some awesome fights matched well done Kieran!! Will be a good bit of banter with all the north v south fights with the northeners bringing down a strong team.
The Homecoming fight of Charlie Peters (Semtex) against Reece Mcallister(Phoenix) 68kgs max, 5x3 mins, A class.
Both guys recently spending long terms in Thailand and both having good success will no doubt be showcasing sublime skills learnt from their time away.

Expect and epic battle between two hungry fighters.
Just heard from Thailand that meenyothoin camp has cancelled fight with dicks and Aegpracha fighting fabio pinca now on the 17th after baukaw pulled out, Is this true? shame for dicks if true?
The best question has got to be.
Looking forward to getting married then?
Whats he supposed to say? "No its going tobe hell cant stand her".
Of course hes looking forward to it.. Love it!!!
Follow this link to the photos of the Open Sparring Session at Semtex Gym in preparation of Xplosion on March 31st.
The session Featured Michael Dicks, Craig Jose, Salah, Andrew Tate, Jp Donohugh, Adam Lee Mason, Darren Chan, Pete Irving and other fighters from Storm Gym & Minotaurs Gym
Unfortunatley Matthew Tieu vs John Dick fight is off to both guys being injured , but at Xplosion we still wanted a Scotland vs England fight so.........
All action fighter from KO BLOODLINE Jose Varela vs up and coming and highly talented Jordan Calder from Caledonian Muay Thai matched at 59kgs 5x3 FTR.
slight changes to the card and final line up very soon
Jose is a quality fighter(defo 1 of the top boys at 59kg) and one of the funniest guys i ve met but got to go with my little mate jordan on this one...................... big fight for him but if he go's in with the right game plan i really believe he can pull it off, gutted i wont be there matey ;-)
Didnt know who Varela was till Super Showdown. Hopefully he gets a few big fights this year. Would love to see him rematch Jonno, or have a battle with Meleady!
But Yes Kieran definitely has fight of the night written all over it. Big fan of Jordan!
Varela has already fought Meleady I'm sure. And him and Jonno are fighting in the KOK 4 man with Keith and a welsh lad for UKMF British.
Is this being shown live?
Xplosion at the indigo2 at the 02 will host its official weigh in at Thai Silk at 12am. aside from fighters , coaches and staff there will also be press from Thai News , fighters in Focus , MAI magazine and local press.
After a few hectic days theres now been a change around to the main card at Xplosion.
Aekpracha Meenoythin cannot make the 66.68kgs weight limit anymore and after discussions with his manager and of course Buakaw taking a break from the international Scene he will now campaign at 70kgs with the possibilty of going into k-1 and the bigger paydays in europe.
WMC had no option but to strip Aekpracha of the WMC world title and therefore have replaced him with the dangerous Palangchon Pumphanmuang who is training stablemate with Saiyok. He is ranked no.6 with Lumpinee and no.9 in Thailand. So Michael has no easy test!
Isn't Kulebin champ at that weight? There are that many WMC titles with Thrash and Wooten both being MAD champs too. I'm not having a dig, just genuinely confused.
Ok MAD titles are muay thai against drugs titles for prestige , Kluebin is not WMC champion anymore. Aekpravha was but now stripped , so vacant title , this is the WMC world title all up for grabs.
thats weird maybe cos it was late notice liam robinson was at weigh in last month when he weighed 66.1 to win lumpinee title he must have struggled and cant be boithered anymore. are wmc rankings anywhere muaythai2000 site isnt working?

this thai has got some serious skills wseen him fight a few times im sure he got caught up in a throwing fights scandal a while back but everytime iv seen him he was awesome. good clash of styles with him and dicks
the thai has an excellent left knee(looks like one of his fave weapons actually) and can kick well off both legs. he looks like a "come and get me" kind of fighter
My guys are fit, strong and on weight, looking forward to Saturday.
Look out for a change in Sikwa, had a few words in his lug after last few performances. Hopefully he has taken it on board and will really show his stuff, been working on a few things with him since last month hopefully will pay off!
Matt Sheedy returns after a long time out, however hes just been with Watarachai Gym for a couple of weeks, returning there in June to fight under that camp in Thailand, he's good mates with Watarachai who knows Matts strengths and weaknesses and he has worked on some fine tuning last 3 weeks or so.

are there tickets on the door available for tomorrow? and what time is first Fight. I am desperate to get my pals up for this and show them a proper fight night in comparison to the rough house unlicensed boxing they keep taking me to.
in sure the India already in this thread somewhere but it's a long thread!
I apologise if this has already been asked, but is this event being filmed or broadcast on internet by any chance. This is such a great card!Would really liked to have watched this show, but attending the main event as its nearer to me.
couldn't get in. Was a sell out well
Done Kieran and Steve! I saw imans fight from a screen miles away while I was in slug and lettuce drowning my sorrows looked like she just took her apart
what a show best show i have seen inages reece was top class .jordon was awesome the young talent on show last nite was breth taking , so proud to be british
Dicks looked sharp and fit but couldn't outwit Pumphanmuang whose kicks were fast, vicious and accurate. Dicks arms and ribs were bright red, but that might have been sunburn from the stage lights. ;-)
Craig Jose had Michael Wakeling rocked in round 1?, think it was a hook but didn't see it clearly. He came back very strongly to take the win but I think it was he was afraid of his brother Steve in the corner who was so animated that I thought he was going to take out both his brother and Craig Jose.
Clear win from Greg Wootton who easily outpointed and outclinched a game and very durable Swedish opponent.
Jose Varela, true to himself never stopped coming forward, leaving little space for Jordan Calder to express himself. Jordan however countered very intelligently and used his superior reach and accuracy to good effect to outscore Jose.
Iman Barlow left no space for her Dutch opponent who looked totally out of her depth and who I don't remember landing a single technique - win by stoppage.
Wayne Fisher stopped Danny Kendrick if I remember correctly and I was also very impressed by Reece McCallister of Phoenix who beat Charlie Peters.
The fight between Brad Stanton and Salah Abdulsalam was shaping up to be a corker.
Salah caught Brad with a peach of a spinning back elbow which opened up a big gash under his eye. The crowd were booing the stoppage which was unfair on Brad IMO as I think there was no reason he couldn't carry on as it was under the eye and not bleeding badly.
I think most who know me as a ref, know that I let fights go on re cuts. Brads cut was very deep and long, and also had turned out, meaning that it was near on impossible to patch up by the corner for the next round. I hate to stop fights on cuts, and I really didnt want to, but the cut was very bad indeed. I was the closest to the fighter, so could see how bad it was compared to the audience.
I understand the crowds annoyance as was a fantastic fight and its a shame when a fight is stopped on cuts, but I really had no choice, and I will stand by my decision.
The rest of the show was fantastic. Well done to Steve and Kieran and everyone involved with the running of the show.
It was a good stoppage , obviously brad was ery upset at the decision because he was starting to come into the fight nicely but saying that there is no way he could cOntinue Jesse is there to protect the fighters and some times he has to protect them from them selfs and that's what he did
Jordan Calder - we are all so proud of you, couldn't be there as we had two lads on the Main Event card. Jordan's fight made it 3/3 for the gym at the two biggest shows in the UK, and hopefully this launches Jordan's future fight career into the top level. Well done J, Brian, and Gordon. Safe trip home. Thanks Keiran for having J on the show.
100% correct decision to stop Brad on that cut as it was bad! One punch to that would have ended up in half his face hanging off and it's been said the red is there to protect the fighters safety! Obviously Brad wanted to continue as he's a fighter and wanted to fight, no shock there! The lads got serious talent and I think these two are in a tourney later in the year so he may well have his chance at revenge. You have to give it to Salah as he raised his game last night and showed he can mix it up with quality opponents! Bright future for the beast that reminds me of a soul glo advert from the movie coming to america ;) Sorry mate! Lol x That spinning elbow was absolute textbook! I heard someone in the croud shout "you got lucky" which made me laugh at that is what A Class is all about! Utilising all of your muaythai weapons and you have to give credit to such a beautifully executed technique!
What a show! Definitely the best Xplosion to date so congrats to the Mitchell brothers, I mean Steve and Kieran ;) Dont know how you'll be able to top that of the 7th of June (or was it July?) but I'm already excited to see the quality they will bring to the O2 then!!!! You lads are raising the bar for UK Muaythai so please keep up the good work!
Not gonna go into each fight as you can buy the DVD but have to say I was massively impressed with Reece McCallister a I hadn't seen him fight for some time and he is definitely a huge prospect!
Lastly, thanks for havIng me along guys, loved it! X
Brilliant show, amazing venue and incredible fights! Def the best I've been to and to have our young fighter Joe open the show was an honour. Big thanks to Steve and Kieran for having us, our supporters loved it.
wow!! awesome show with some fantastic fights!! Really proud of our lad Wayne Fisher who stopped Danny kendrick in the 3rd round with knees. The rest of the show was amazing, really impressed with jordan Calder. A very clever fighter who moved very well throughout the fight. I think that Jordan will soon be at the top of his weight division in the Uk and will stay there for sometime!! Reece McCallister also fought an excellent fight too. Both young lads with a bright future. Thanks to Kieran and Steve for their hospitality, hopefully we can return the favour on our show on 3rd June. Well done guys
Great show . Congrats Steve and Keiran . Really proud of all the KO fighters .
Amanda beat a proven world class fighter with devasting elbows. Greg's performance was outstanding.
I just want to thank Kieran for giving my girl Megan the opportunity to fight on a fantastic show, it was a truly amazing event.
The quality of the fighters on show was simply mental...
Megan and Roqsanna had a close and great battle which went the distance with Megan coming out on top.
And thanks Kieran for looking after us so well.
Should also say tko J.P AS I stopped the fight. But the way he got beaten for three rounds and came back, deserves that tittle well done J.P. Also like to say what a fantastic show. From fighters and trainners veiws, nobody looks after you better then Kieren and Steve, no matter how busey they are and streesed on the day, nothing is to much trouble for them to sort out. P.S. You beat anymore of my fighters you and steve will be putting gloves on against me and Steve lol.
Also well done James (stop them laughing) Snelling. And Michael.
Would just like to echo what everyone else has said about Kieren and Steve they are different class to work with will help you with anything even though they are running a top show. Brilliant week-end, brilliant show and top class venue and fights. Over the moon with Jordan's performance he was oustanding from the 1st bell to the last, got talking to loads of people after and the general concencous was that Jordan would get stopped early because he's still a kid, yes I agree he is but he is a VERY special kid who was amazing. Some top people in muay thai came up to us after and said how impressed they were with Jordan and other's said he has improved so much since they last saw him fight, that will do for me it shows he is going in the right direction. Jose Varela is as tough as they come and a good kid we wish him well in the future :)
Oh yes forgot to mention was busey back stage run to ask for something ended up with feet stuck to floor, had to watch whole of jordon v jose fight. I did not think many could stand up and trade with jose at that weight, Jordon showed true Muay Thai will stand up against the srongest and best pitbulls out there. Jordon is no boy, he is a yong man ready to cut a path throug the best. Good luck and stay the f**K away from my fighters lol
An excellent show and a brilliant way to spend Saturday night!. Well done to Kieran and Steve for putting on an excellent event! You guys are definitely paving the way.
I must get Abdul onto one of your shows lol
I've taken some photos of the evening and if its ok with the Kieran and Steve I could post them on here. I've uploaded some of the KO fighters to my facebook page, should you wish to check them out.
Thanks to keiran and steve, was a good show, few too many fights tho maybe a bit shorter card next time would be good.
Some awesome young talent on the show congrats to my mate Reece who was brilliant, young jordan, Iman and well done to my main man Pete Irving, 3-0 this year so making the transition to k1 nicely ;)
Also congrats to Micheal for winning the fight, no bitterness here he was just better, thats twice now so i accept that, really enjoyed the fight tho i think i got a bit too excited after catching you first round, nvm we win..we loose...we fight
I want to raise one point from the show, and I know ill recieve some calls of complaint, but why on earth did Steve and Kieran have to pay out for a whole set of officials for the last two fights??
I have refereed WMC fights in the past, and I was always of the understanding that the UKMF and the WMC work together, so why could UKMF officials not work on the two WMC fights??
Nothing against Pele or the judges, but it seemed madness for the promoters to have to pay out so much more money on just two fights.
I get that in an international fight, you'd like to have judges from different countrys, but it was an English ref, 1 English judge and 2 Irish judges. The UKMF officials were English ref, 1 English judge, 1 Scottish Judge and 1 Iranian Judge.
What a fantastic attitude Craig has . Thank you for reminding me why I love this sport . One can get lost in the petty sqabbling and political arguments, that can make you dissolutioned and resentful with the Muay Thai scene. Seeing Michael and Craig put on such a great performance and then show such respect and honesty towards each other is pure class .
Craig also drew my attention to the amazing young talent on the show Jordan and Iman . Jordan fought the correct tactical fight demonstrating both, skill and maturity .Iman was a class ( or two ) above her opponent .
I wanted to add my two penneth. the show was far too long and i personally hate Steve Gladstone And kieren. Neither are getting a Christmas card. 6am I eventually got home!
On the plus side. It was professionally run. Well organised and a pleasure to be involved in even the smallest capacity.
I thought Jesse did a fabulous job reffing and whilst there had been some voices saying that Brads and Salas fight was ended too soon. In defence of the decision Jesse has a duty of care to the fighter and to the promoters. And whilst in my personal opinion I feel I could have closed the wound and have the fight continue. Brad did not have a cuts man in his corner. Just blatting Vaseline into such a deep wound would not have been appropriate. And possibly dangerous. I feel had I or another cuts man been sat in Brads corner, Jesse may have considered allowing the fight to continue.
And as I tended the wound afterwards I feel confident in my opinion.
and as a closing thought. How come the medical staff no longer carry stitch kits and are not prepared to tend cuts?
More and more shows "employ" Doctors/paramedics that refuse to stitch cuts, which is ridiculous on events that host Full MT rules.
I'm no expert but a vasaline pot that has been in the bottom of the bucket for say the last 3 months must be riddled with germs and an open wound is surely open to infection. Glueing rather than stitching just leaves scar tissue?
Anyway thanks for being in the corner for Salah and thank you for stitching up Brad immediately after - I am sure he appreciates not having to go to a London A&E dept at 1am on a Saturday night.
Im not 100% clear on the legalities of this country, but Ive heard in the states that a few medics have been sued after stitching fighters up after shows in pro boxing.
Infact I know a few pro boxing coaches who wont let a medic near his fighter after a fight if he gets cut and will use other methods of closing the wound.
I know there have also been cases of bad stitching making the wound liable to not fully heal and open up easily again...or worse still medics stitching a wound that hasnt been cleaned and thus getting a load of vaseline under the skin that hardens over time and makes the skin liable to tear easy again.
Im confident your comments are not a dig at me or indeed my skills. Unless you advise differently. But I can assure you that even if you closed a wound full of sweat and Vaseline there isn't an anti biotic that couldn't resolve the infection. Ive attended many fighters and treated their injuries for many years and not once made a mistake.
Not withstanding if a fighter asks me to tend his wound a contract is verbally inferred and all liability is diminished.
Of course if you're proven right. then maybe there is a bigger picture to consider. that of prosecuting the opponent. Involving the police and criminal proceedings for a section 18 offence which carries a five year sentence. After all if tending a wound can result in proceedings surely causing a wound is a greater offence?
Wasnt a dig mate - just stating why many medics might think twice about treating a wound, and indeed why in boxing a good cut man is worth his weight in gold (Ricky Hattons for example). I spoke with a boxing coach regarding this from the states and he was quoting stuff he had seen regarding uncleaned wounds being stitched etc.
What you do is a rare skill...infact I also know top pro's have gotten their wounds treated by plastic surgeons, so with that in mind maybe you should put your prices up :-)
I think we're going off on a tangent here and taking away slightly from what was an awesome night of fighting.
Dave, you've stated the facts mate and that’s exactly the reason people should have a good cuts man with them for all full rules fights! It can be the difference between winning and losing a fight and having that expertise on hand is essential. I believe you when you say you could’ve closed that cut and I’m sure lessons will be learnt from this situation.
I didn’t quite lean back enough from a head kick once and had my chin split open and needed a couple of stitches (bloody toenails!). This is the only cut that’s even given me agro as they left a little bit of vas in there and I often nick it when shaving. Not in a place that matters and doesn’t affect my stunning good looks but I could imagine this being an issue if someone did a repair like this on an eyebrow or somewhere that could affect someone in future fights.
I’d be more confident letting Dave or Kevin Young (who’s been my cuts man many a time) stitch me up over some of the idiots you get in A&E, and that’s when you finally get seen!!!
Anyway, what an awesome show and can’t wait for the 7th of July!!!!!!
It was a pain in the ass the ass to find out I was not eligible to judge the two WMC title fights , I can understand I have only a three of years experience under my belt judging mainly in the south but in that time I have judged on some fantastic shows and some amazing fighters and have judged several world titles dozens of British titles. My time will come I am sure of it . I am more upset for Jesse I am obviously biased in the matter as I have been a member of shin kick since Jesse founded it but Jesse is with out doubt one of the best refs we have in the uk and it's sad he did not get the opportunity to further cv
jessee deffo a better ref and ive no doubt the judges were better than at least 1 of the ones substituted, saying that Craig O'Flynn is an excellent judge
Jesse is one of the best refs in the country IMO , as regards to technology judges , this is what I had to do , out f my hands , but rules are rules from the WMC.
Anyway next show July 7th announcement to be made After this weekend. Just had talks with a talk of a return .......
