Muaythai Legends: Harrison vs Sanchai 7 Feb London
LEGENDS: LIAM HARRISON VS SANCHAI SOR KINGSTAR!! - 07.02.09 LONDON
Yes believe your eyes! The best pound for pound muaythai fighter in the world will come to fight for Dan Green Promotions in London on 7th February 2009.
Current Lumpini Champion Sanchai Sor Kingstar will go up against top English fighter and current WMC World Champion Liam Harrison of Bad Company Leeds in what will be Harrison's biggest ever fight!
Sanchai Sor Kingstar has been universally regarded as the best pound for pound muaythai fighter in the world for many years globally. In his last fight in August he beat current Thailand fighter of the year Wuttidet Lukprabart in what is regarded as fight of the year so far.
He was taken under the wing of Gold Olympic Medallist Somluck Khasming initially and won his first Lumpini title beating Neungsiam Fairtex. He was voted fighter of the year in 1999 and ever since has been regarded at the top of his game. Now 27 years old he is still current Lumpini Champion and regarded as simply unstoppable at his weight.
The list of top names that he has beaten cannot be compared and includes: Orono Por Petchpun, Jomthong Chuwattana, Nopparat Kiatgamthon, Singdam Kiatmuu9, Khem Sor Polenchit, Fabio Pinca, Ponpitak Ptechudomchaio & many others
If anyone from Europe though can beat Sanchai under Full Thai Rules though it's Liam Harrison, who has won his last five fights (2 against top 10 ranked Thais) by stoppage.
This is arguably the biggest muaythai fight ever to take place in England - where will you be on 7th February?
Tickets go on sale mid-October.
Thanks to Rob for his help in setting up this bout.
Is this the biggest muay thai fight on english soil so far? it's gotta be up there, congrats to dan green it will be sold out before christmas! Liam all the way for me, he showed he's not just a banger but a tactician in his last fight, either way win or lose he's getting in with the pound for pound best in that weight. Now here's a question can he cartwheel kick sanchai? LOL that would be funny
Got told about this at training tonight, just got in, quick shower and on here to check if it was true!
Biggest fight here ever.
Two Legends!
I will be there!
Talking to Liam tonight and he is soooooo up for this.
Xmas parties have been cancelled.
Padwork on New Years Eve and New Years Day.
Everyone idolises Sanchai, but Liam appreciates his skill. Thats a subtle difference. Sanchai is beatable (as per his last fight with Orono Por Petchpun), so he is not a god who cant be touched. If anyone can do it, Liam can.
Quality Mr Green ............ seen him fight many times in Thailand gonna be wierd seeing him in Croydon .... its there for the taking Liam i bet your buzzing what a scalp mate ...DO it for yourself !!!
with out doubt the biggest fight ever to happen in the uk. is sanchai giving weight? got to be logical and go 80% 20% in sanchais favour but if you pull this one off my man you will gain legendry status in the muay thai game and i absolutly hope it goes your way. this is a far bigger fight than kk and somrak as ssks is still in his absolute prime and still regarded levels above the rest by the whole of thailand.
Training stepped up a level last night and I dare say it will continue all the way to this fight. He is going to be in tip-top condition training at Badco, and will have a final couple of weeks sharpening at Jitti's.
In the meantime theres a couple of other bouts to convert.
I think these will serve to focus Liam in building up to this legendry battle.
Thanks for the support everyone, hopefully ill be at jitis from 2nd january hopefully and stay til a week or so before the fight!! ive dreamt of this fight for a long time, thanks to dan green for making it a reality!
I have tried to stay off ax 'cause I am really busy at the mo but I had to comment on this one...Sanchai fighting in the UK against Liam is brilliant news.
Dan you are a promoting legend for pulling this one off(and so is anyone who helped him). Despite his brilliant recent run, I think it will be difficult for Liam to win this one, but he has the best chance of anyone in the UK and he will definitely make a fight of it...I am sure Liam will be training his arse off for it too.
Good luck mate...whatever the result you can't lose pal...to be considered good enough to share the ring with someone widely regarded as the best Nak Muay in this generation is an honour in itself. I can't wait for the show.
I cant wait for this, its gunna be ace, i cant wait for the whole show, its also just been confirmed is me and Damien in the 3rd match so looking forward to that aswell, it will be a great fight and for it to be on the undercard of Sanchai and Hitman is awesome, i cant wait. woooooooooooo.
to have that as an undercard fight shows the pedigree of this next show and probably why tickets go on sale next month lol.
Howson v Trainor will be mint. Nice work Dan.
lining up for show of the century!!!!! can anyone top dan green now in promotion??? can anyone else bring over sanchai??? however he has done it it is brilliant,,, best of luck liam,, ill give you £50 if you can cartwheel the cartwheel king lol...... anyone want to raise me on that???? stepping in against the pound for pound best fighter at the minute is no easy task, but nobody better than englands best to take it on!!!!!
looking ofrward to damien and andy 3 aswell, enough to be a main event on any show!!!!!!! any news of an undercard?????
Fantastic achievement for arranging this fight and it shows great heart by the fighter and the promoter to take on the best in the world and finest Siam has to offer.
Wishing you an injury free run up to your fight I hope you both are in prime condition for this one whatever the outcome, go hell for leather with this one Liam it appears to be the one you have been waiting for- Chok Dee lad.
And good luck to all of the fighters on the night should be a cracker I will try to make it over for this, I would hate to miss it as these dont come around very often.
Good luck andy just when you thought the show couldnt get better it did Trainor V Howson 3 i'm betting £25 on howson to win and £25 on Liam to win. *All bets subject to changes in the program.
Liam will win this i know.....i really really know,he wants it he always has, thats the main thing he has desire a little bit of magic that eludes many others its his destiny to face the best and win it too, treasure our boxers because they can do it,i have seen a massive change in people over i,d say last 4 years or so coaches getting on fighters getting on,kisses, the lot, enjoy it and please keep it going, put the old crap to the side ego,s etc...look what we have as a country i really think we are the best Muay thai country outside Thailand easily sorry but i am being honest,Tony myers doing his scoring, judging,Richard smith bring Thais, also many gyms going over to train, fight etc,am so proud of Dan green being honest and i told him too,i slagged him in the past and seeing him in Holland and UK he works like a dog to put it together,i respect you mate iv,e seen it,sorry got emotional then..lol EVERYONE MUST SUPPORT,this our boy will do it....go on Liam love uncle Vince xx
Mate i speak from the heart i really love our fighters,Dan green is doing a great job credit where credits due,Liam is so much fun to be around and humble i just like him for that,we have a great nation with some amazing characters and i have been slagged for hugging people and kisses etc...do i care nah!!! thing is i admire these boys,Wakelings,Keiron,Frank,Dale,Andy howson (also ace fun)Badger,Thrasher,Damien,Dean james,Noi etc sorry if left anyone out, challenges makes who we are, rising to them and beating them is what life is about, been told in live in "la la land" a few times, funny i just see it as i call it be ace when Liam wins then we can party in "la la land" together xxx
"Cadden never told you what happened to your father, did he?"
"He told me you killed him, Saenchai!!"
"No Liam...I am your father,khub!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
This is surely the Muay Thai equivalent of the Mayweather-Hatton superfight.
The universally recognised pound for pound greatest fighter in the world, a legend in the making who has critics calling him possibly the best fighter of his generation. A man with every offensive and defensive trick in the book, a supreme technician who simply toys with opponents whilst displaying an incredible array of fighting skills.
And in the other corner....a Northern hooligan who likes a tear up, a few bevvies and the odd fry up.
Only kidding mate, do the business and bring victory to the UK (and Yorkshire!)
No unfortunatly not. To get a top ten ranked fighter you have be present in thailand a while or seen to have been to even get the chance to fight 1 of the top ten at said stadium, if you beat them in the stadium they are ranked in then you take there spot or so im made aware? Rob Cox would no better but im pretty sure thats how it works. Cheers Brian, all you lot best be there for this and i no you will, to be fair anyone who know's anything about Muay Thai will/should and best be getting a ticket for this show as im pretty sure you will never see Sanchai over here again, so massive credit to dan for getting it. To get him on your show is a 1 off thing so make the most of it people. Wainey im putting 100quid on it that he will do cartwheel kick, and land it more to the point, he's ace at it now stinking twat.
He wont move in thai rankings but after this fight with the experience can go over and spank some Thais at stadium i reckon no problem. He will be top 5 soon.
Whos betting on the other fights?
i got 2 big fights before this!! 1 in rajadamnern so hopefully that will put me closer to ranking if i win...however i know japanese fighters who beat thais in japan and got ranked but think they basically payed there way in.
Nice one, well done Dan and Liam, obviously a ridiculous task, but I hope Liam drops him, will be amazing! Will be great to see SSK fighting over here!
tat i love the little shit but just sick of him kicking me around leeds every single night of the week for the last 5 years, he keeps telling me that its his revenge for when we where kids and i used to play wrestling with him and throw him all over the house, so cant really complain can i?? bastard he is,lol.
wombat------rofl,, is at now a new techincal term we have to use???? there should be an oxford liam h and andy h dictionary, im sure it would be a top seller!!!!!!
You can create your own insult by having a pair of abuse-dice.
One one you have six animals, possibly vermin or marsupials....the more obscure the better (aardvark, dog, rackoon, weasel, rat). If you can link the appearance of the individual to an animal, it has added effect.
And then on the other you have body parts (lips, nose, dick, arse, hand, foot)...
When some one insults you roll the two dice and theres your insult back!!!! :))))
I must admit I did used to chortle at the stuff like 'doghand' and wondered how on earth that name could ever have been dreampt up. We need more of that, it`s died a death.
This is the best fight to ever take place in the uk between the best standup fighter in the world and the best farang thai boxer currently in the world, who i believe will be up there with Danny Bill, Dekkers etc in the future.
I was going to post my picture with Liam and Andy at the recent seminar on this thread, however, on viewing the said picture I had taken with them and their belts, I decided, at the time, to make a face that resembles Gollom\'s retarded younger brother. Therefore I will not be posting it!
cracking fight for bernice, anja will try and push her back with hard boxing and be very aggressive,i think bernice will defend successfully but it will be an exciting fight.good luck to all the brits.
Dan's shows just get better each outting. This man truly loves MT. The UK has a good thing going with the kind of talent Dan brings in. I hope Mr.Wakeling makes the next card.

Damien Trainor (K-Star) vs Andy Howson (Bad Company)
Rob Storey (Keddles) vs Mariuz Cielinski (KO, Poland)

normally i look forward to christmas for the break, but i want it over and done with now so i can count the sleeps!!!!!!! anyone got any advice on hotels near buy?
Marianne, Clapham will ba a bit of a mission to get to croydon on a weekend if your driving your best bet is like Splinter says the jurys inn , its about 300 meters to the fairfield from there and quite a decent hotel too then if you wanted go into clapham after , you'll do alot less sitting in traffic or on a train plus the jurys inn is where all the fighters will be stopping probably , last time they were anyway , and if that 1 is full the travellodge is right next door and only 250 meters from the venue .
thanks russ, my sister lives in clapham is all so we were gonna stop at hers but there is now quite a few of us going down there so will be stopping at a hotel now so long as we can get one in croydon booked for every1 lol x
ps-the windmill-on-the-common hotel is mint in clapham, £195 for fri till sunday, sounds alot but is 4 star or summat and is really nice, we wanted every 1 to stop there but probs too much money 4 some so any more suggestions in croydon...? and is croydon any good for fri night ooot??
Darrens not bein funny David Mc, he probably means sanchai did his normal score and move and didn't get into a row and the other fights were wars, but i'm assuming your there in thailand too so you could tell us. How did sanchai fight? :-)
This is the biggest challenge any westerner has taken i believe in our sports history so far and this IS possible for Liam i really believe in him as he dreamt this would happen,Dans made it true regardless of anything give him the support he deserves and needs to do this,i will be there doing p4tv and let me tell you i will be in bits,he can,he will do it....no one changes my mind on this good luck Liam from Uncle vince xx
As for weights I think Saechai has fought from 55kgs up to 67kgs.
Liam has fought from 59kgs to 70kgs.
I think the optimum weights for both guys would be about 58kgs for Saenchai and 61kgs for Liam.
Saenchai is used to giving weight away to other top guys, and his skills can carry through a wide scale of weights.....as does Liam.
We know the skills of these guys irrespective of details on weights.
Saenchai fought at 65kgs in Japan and he weighed in at 65kgs.....and looked huge!
I dont think he will be giving weight away, hence the contracts (being signed above)
On the bigger scheme of things, obviously this is why there are rankings and weight catagories.....
But looking at this as an individual bout, as we know the skill levels of both these guys, I think the weight issue is less than 1% of the matters regarding this bout. Both guys are consumate professionals and have fought at many different weights, under different styles.....
But as you say, it will be interesting to find out. :)
Last nights show didnt have any under card they were all worthy of headline fights..
well only one of them was billed as main event on the programme so im assuming the rest were undercard fights? whatever they was billed as (who cares?) there was some quality fights anyway.
yer thats exactly what he done si, he done some amazing moves though, there was one were the other guy went to clinch him and i dont know how he done it but he ended up in the air above him and smashed down two elbows on top of his head LOL. ive got that bit on my phone ill tryan get it on here
this show just keeps on looking better, aside from the wicked blokes fighting, there are some mint womens bouts which i cant wait to watch!
Misty is a great fighter and Sandra is strong, sooo exciting!

Looks like you are following the steps of the Machine Gun. This is a treat and I think it is over 20 years old. My memory is getting old. Ronnie Green beat Fanta Attaphon many years ago, I am sure Fanta was boxer of the year at some point. Did Ramon Dekkers ever beat a boxer of the year?
Good Luck Liam....Practice some BJJ Liam when he does his kart wheel and fart in his face mate....Eat something smelly the night before!!!
back on topic please i cant see what this has to do with the Hitman his style is nothing like the boxers of the past mentioned.
Saenchai v Liam is the biggest fight to happen, ok theres been stadium champs over before etc etc but i dont think weve ever had one that struggles to get fights in Thailand and gives away weight to get fights with such a reign as Saenchai has had, its a win win for liam and he shown in recent fight he has ALL the tools to do it its just catching the slippery little man!
Dan. Congratulations on getting this on. It's a fantastic fight and all the best to Liam. I know that this is a really tough fight, but every fighter who strives wants to pit themselves against the best. It's the ultimate test. Taking on such a tough Thai is the definitive challenge, but Liam has experience and above all (which is different from the early days fighting stadium champions) the knowledge of what is required to attempt such a task. The preparation and anticipation is all part of this great adventure and i believe that Saenchi could get a much tougher time than he might be expecting. Good luck Liam, train like fuck....
For once...lets ALL get behind this kid and give him the praise he deserves he is ours!!! a fighter that is willing to fight the best,in my eyes a fantastic fighter and a real decent human, spread the love people xxx start sending your wishes xxx
marianne ssshhhh youre supposed to be saying i was looking shit and weak, lead damien into a false sanse but you go and blow it for me,lol. Jokes aside me and Damien both want this so its gunna be insane, haha.
Trainor v Howson is a fite lots looking forward to will be explosive and non-stop action, very well matched. Howson chin is scandalous always makes for entertaining fights havent seen him in a dull one, still love the Kantippong one, reckon he would smoke him now though.

Like everyone else, Damien/Andy was my fight of the night, it was an amazing fight to watch, so good to have such talent in this country.
Really pleased for Dave, he fought a very tough kid in Nate at a heavier weight and won a good points decision. Well done bro :)

Loads of people to thank but Richard thanks for all the support over the years, none of us would be where we are today without you, Mr deang for hurting me everyday for the last 4 weeks or so and everyone who had helped me out training wise, davymac etc. Liam you fought well mate. end of the day as they say he is the fucking man you no. I think in another 6-8 months or so and you will have another crack and may be a different outcome. Fingers crossed. Thanks to everyone who came to support me and liam your all ace. And a big thanks to Simon audley and Mark and all at www.forthegloryof.co.uk for the suportand brilliant sponsorship, hope the tshirtswent well??
lookin awesome Saenchai there, shame liam but never mind brother, he's the worlds number 1!! but like people say, if you cant beat him, probably no one can!! just embrace the fact that you went the full 5 with such a phenomenen....cos you're our english version bro! ! ! and when he retires it'll be you in saenchai's shoes . . . .!
Liam I've got a full set of pics, I think Dan will want them to go up on his site first though, but I'll make sure high res pictures are available to you. Congrats on the fight, top effort.
No russ mate i thought i fought really good lastnight, enjoyed it and wanted it so bad, i was on about my lastfight against super k sitjaipetch, i was pretty awful that night. Cheers for kind words everyone, means alot.
we got back to newcastle at half four today and were out the door for 5pm to go to strike and submit and got in at 1am so i have had a total of about 6 hours sleep since thursday...f***ing mental weekend!
the fights were great. Liam and saenchai was just amazing. both of their entrances alone made the trip worthwhile let alone the fight...am well glad Liam got a cartwheel in like!
andy and damien, again superb fight, just such a pleasure to watch.
fensom was very good too and i really like Nate's style, he is a little powerhouse but Dave was better on the day.
chris knowles has some serious balls and is a mentalist, his opponent was massive. i love chris though, he is just well up for a scrap and i have no idea how he took some of those punches and stayed standing!
Ruth Ashdown was mint, she is so composed. i dont know what was going on with the Spanish coach but he was acting like a bit of a dick although i have no idea what he was saying but he was waving his arms and shouting at Ruth! the spanish crew seemed right tough though and put up great fights.
I hurt all over today! class weekend!
Was great meeting new people and chatting to Rob Cox he's a sound fella!
Saenchi was great to chat to even if he doesnt speak much english, rob translated for him. Liam and andy were brilliant and did everyone proud. I must apologise to the security for being a nuisance and snarling at one of them who was just doing his job I got carried away after liams fight LOL.
Andy fought really well against Damian. Both fighters have changed and improved since the last time they fought and the standard of this fight was another level altogether. Both guys showed amazing technique and are so fast. Andy showed how tough he is - some of the shots that landed had the crowd wincing but didnt bother him at all. The speed and power of both guys was great to watch but Andy just seemed to have the edge in power and effect through the fight.
The respect and friendship both guys have for one another was obvious before, during and after the fight but didnt get in the way of them giving everything to try to win.
Over the last couple of years Liam has moved up to another level with his skills, timing, power and with how hard he trains and this can be seen in how well he is doing at the moment and the level of opponents that he is beating. Sanchai was incredible - Liam came back to the corner after the first and said he couldnt get over how strong he is! His timing and trickiness was a pleasure to watch and I found myself laughing and enjoying his techniques even from the corner.
Having said that Liam was in the fight all the way through and both fighters put on an amazing display in one of the most entertaining fights I've ever seen. Every time Sanchai did something Liam was straight back and myself an Mr Daeng had our arms in the air cheering for most of the fight! Liam dealt with most of the stuff that Sanchai tried and Sanchai definately had to pull out the stops to win. It wasnt an easy fight for him.
Liam seemed to really enjoy the fight and looked great - its a testament to him that he isnt satisfied with the loss despite everyone telling him how well he did and this is what makes him the great champion that he is - he wont settle for second best even when its to Sanchai!
As usual I'm proud of the guys and proud of the gym - thanks to all those that made the long journey to support and thanks and well done to Dan for putting on such a great show.
Well done Dan, congratulations to liam H and Andy outstanding performance. In fact to all the fighters on the bill . My fight of the night was Damien v Andy, so very entertaining and skillful really well matched !
I can feel that inner thigh bruise of Liams from here. Saenchai looks like he is built from oak. God knows how you can go out on the beer after, I`d be laid up in bed for 2 weeks!
Bet it was a top show to be at. Muchos muchos respect to all.
Can anyone put up the full results please.. To my eternal shame i wasn't able to go! Sounds like everyone did well though so congratulations all round.
Andy versus Damien was a great fight, I remember watching them at Master Sken's show but this was another level. Damien was great as usual - so quick - but Andy just didn't seem fazed and kept stepping it up round after round.
Liam's fight was brilliant, stepping in and going 5 rounds with pound for pound the best boxer in the world is testament itself - but he was really giving as good as he got - and throwing the cartwheel kick in was ace!!
Results I've got:
Harry Richardson vs Keiran McAskill - Richardson points
Philip Tien vs Chris Bray - Bray points
Lee Taylor vs Ritchie Green- Green stopped Taylor with a knee I think.
Mark Little vs Ian Taverner - Little points
Danny Taylor vs Jonathan Fabian - Taylor wins points but I thought Fabian put on a great show and, personally, thought he edged it - just my opinion though.
Stuart Kemp vs Ian Goldie - Kemp stops Goldie
Mati Parks v Paul Kelly - Kelly stops Parks (elbow if memory serves)
Olly Watson vs Steven Jones - Jones wins on points
Greg Walton vs Troy Roe - Walton wins after Dr stopped it, Roe looking unsteady on his feet.
Dean James vs Antonio Rodriguez - James wins points
Dave Fenson vs Nate Smandych - Fenson wins on points with deserved win but credit to Nate for carrying on after taking an elbow which opened up a good cut.
Ruth Ashdown vs Sarai Medina - Ruth wins on points with a good performance, just kept stalking the Sarai. The spanish girl was here to fight though and was tough - not sure what happened part way through from the spanish corner (have to brush up on my spanish!!)
Michael Wakeling vs Alex Galavotti - Good win on points for Michael, looked really strong.
Chris Knowles vs Daniel Sam - Sam wins on pts but Knowlsey just kept coming, despite some big shots.
Sheree Halliday vs Sandra Bastian - Bastian wins as ref stops its. Personally, would have liked to see this one carry on - looked like Sheree took a shot to the ribs but looked ok to continue after getting her breath.
Damien Trainor vs Andy Howson - both great skills, had to be a winner though and Andy just looked unstoppable.
Rob Storey vs Mariusz Cieslinksi - Storey takes points win
Liam Harrison vs Sanchai - Sanchai win on points but Liam took him all the way.
just think ill put my 2 pence worth.....
firstly how proud i am of dean his performsnce from start to finish showed why he is top 3 in this country and just outclassed his opponent with great technique and just shut down the ring to attack .... great win for dean .. excellent performance...
andy and damien what a fight,,, technique on tap and brilliant heart and chins from both some of the shots they both took would have stopped many fighters.. but andy came strong in the end and took a good points win... well done to both.
liam h... absolute amazing performance mate.. not many can say they take saenchai off his feet and you did it.. not many can say they attempted his own cartwheel kick and that pic above is quality... hope your proud of yourself because the whole of the uk is mate....
brilliant night and a brilliant show... well done to dan green on another outstanding show as always ...
right boys..... lets get ready for ireland ..... bucca bucca bucca
An outstanding show, well done to Dan for risking cash, health and reputation in putting this one on.
Some outstanding fights and brilliant individual performances. It was great to have a chat with some mates from overseas (Rob, Trevor, Nate, Brett, Sandra etc.) as well as the ‘usual suspects’ from the UK. A really good atmosphere at the after fight celebrations. As for the fights, they were absolutely brilliant. I didn’t see most of the first half fights as I was getting boxers ready, but here is my take on the action I did see.
I was really proud of Dean’s (James) outstanding performance against his tough and strong Spanish opponent Antonio Rodriguez. Dean was too strong, sharp and clinical for his opponent and made the Spanish Champion (and holder of a version of a world kickboxing title) look ordinary. The Spanish (Sebastian Ocania lookalike) was a great lad though and really tough. After seeing him take Dean’s knees I can understand why he hasn’t been stopped and only lost twice previously in 25 or so fights.
Michael (Wakeling ) put on another excellent technical performance against a tough Italian boxer. Michael was disappointed not to be able to use elbows after refining his skills with Sanchai in Thailand but still looked sharp and strong. He had a big smile on his face when I mistakenly said the fight was with elbows (in the brief fighter’s chat in the centre of the ring) but the Italian’s were having none of it. Your time will come Michael.
Ruth (Ashdown) put in another excellent performance and was far too strong and sharp for her tough and very brave Spanish opponent. There was a claim from the Spanish fighter that she was bitten. I have e-mailed her coach to explain that not only didn’t see the alleged incident (nor did the judges) but that Ruth was a fair and honourable fighter and not the type of person to consider doing anything like this. Ruth was so far ahead at that point that her opponent was probably mistaken as she was hurt and possibly confused at that stage.
Sheree (Halliday) was really disappointed to be stopped by TKO to a strong Canadian fighter. In hindsight she probably shouldn’t have fought having been injured three weeks before the fight and unable to train properly. She certainly didn’t seem herself at all (but hindsight is a wonderful thing and that is easily said after the fight). That said, Sandra did a really great job particularly since she was also suffering from the flu and not 100 herself. Well done Sandra a great performance. Although Sheree wasn’t badly hurt it was possibly better it was stopped (with a thundering body shot) so that her knee injury didn’t get worse and cause her future problems. Sheree will definitely be back better than ever.
Rob’s (Storey) entrance went a little ‘pear shaped’ as his bob the builder music didn’t play and people were probably left wondering why he had come into the ring in his work clobber. Rob is a brilliant lad and a real comedian and took it in his stride. He put in an excellent performance against a strong and awkward opponent. Rob’s strength in the clinch and sharp elbows allowed him to take control and dominate the later rounds.
Andy and Damien’s fight was brilliant. Both of these fighters showed great heart and outstanding technique in an excellent battle. For me, this fight was the best of the fights they have had against each other. This time after Andy was able to take the lead in the 4th and sealed the decision in the 5th. It was a pleasure to referee such a great fight with excellent performances and outstanding attitudes from both fighters. Andy and Damien you are both a credit to UK Muay Thai.
Liam and Sanchai was just a class show from start to finish that was a pleasure to referee; absolutely outstanding. For me Liam put in the performance of his life and held his own against the best lb for lb Nak Muay of his generation. Although he didn’t get the decision Liam only won from putting in this performance, well done mate. Liam was able to kick Sanchai to the floor and score with body kicks which is a real feat in itself. Sanchai is very special and Liam proved his best foreign opponent by far. I had to smile while refereeing, not only at the outstanding MuayThai skills being demonstrated and the genuine mutual respect shown by the fighters, but also the humour. For example, in the last Sanchai was saying to Liam...”Liam enough now, yes? You want to stop now?” (usual practice when a fight is clearly won in Thailand)...and Liam replying (after having his leg smashed by a sharp inside leg kick)...”not quiet yet” as he launched another series of bomb like punches LOL. Liam said afterwards he didn’t think anyone could be that good. Sanchai’s eye is amazing with a built in punch and kick radar. However, Liam you are a bit special yourself mate.
A brilliant night (and early morning) for UK MuayThai.
sorry mr harrison, i couldn't wait any longer to watch the fight & had to sneak a peak on utube...absolute class, had me sceaming at my mini screen...you'll take him next time
both sensational nak muay and true sportsman
when's the rematch?...it's well worth the airfare

good to catch up with you again too Tony, can someone help me and put up the complete scores of Liam vs Saenchai as I had a competition on my site to win a pair of Liam's shorts, but in all the excitment forgot to write down the scores on the night.
Really enjoyed the show last week, weel done Dan and all envolved! Was great to see loads of friends again and the hotel after the show was a great laugh, just a shame the weekend didn't last longer as I didn't get to chat to a lot also! Particularly enjoyed the Howson Trainor fight, in fact I could watch them have another dozen fights and not get bored of it, excellent! Seanchai and Liam was something special, both entrances were great and first of all have to give credit to Liam for even stepping up to take the fight! Everytime I've seen Liam over the past few years he continuously gets better and seems far from peaking just yet! On paper Liam shouldn't have had a chance, but to his credit, he made Seanchai really have to fight and troubled him more than I've seen some top stadium fighters IMO. I thought Liam showed over the first 2 rounds that he more than deserved to share the ring with Seanchai, then from the 3rd he had a go and obviuosly Seanchai capitalised on it. I was very surprised with Seanchai's power! I scored the fight 49:47, giving Liam a round as I felt he made a good fight of it. I know Liam will come back even better and I also look forward to the day they meet again!

Peelapol, so obvious who you are. You know who exactly was booing Dave
and to be honest, we don't give a fuck what you think.
If you got something to say, you know where I am, come have a chat!!
peelapol22 - No profile - Whats your problem?! You have a dig at people on threads and when they question you you haven't got the bottle to respond properly or accurately or at all sometimes... show a bit of back bone, do your profile and then come forward and say your piece!!
I have been asked to look at the fight on P4TV by a few people now including officials so for what it’s worth here’s my opinion on the bout between Danny Taylor and Jonathan Fabian? I think his name was.
Obviously it isn’t ideal to try and judge a bout from a DVD but I think on this occasion the result is clear enough so it is not too close to be able to say a few knees were going in that you couldn’t see from a certain camera angle that would have swung the bout.
For me I cant see that it was too much to do with body kicks in this one, Danny did throw more and some scored while a fair few of the lead leg kicks were not really thrown on balance and with any sort of effect, while a clean body kick does score, the ones thrown when the boxer was fatigued would not have had a huge influence for me on this occasion.
It is a clear win for Danny Taylor on this bout by a round, possibly 2 rounds. He didn’t have a great 2nd round but started to edge the 3rd as he was scoring well will the knee while the Spanish opponent was kneeing the leg. Fourth round Danny got round the back of his opponent in the clinch and I think in the majority of clinch exchanges in rounds 3,4,5 Danny was definitely more effective, scored and then turned the boxer or got round his back before they were broken, in a close bout late on this can easily swing a decision in your favour.
Danny did ask me on the night what I though of the decision but I did not see the whole fight however I said to him that I had 100% confidence in Richard Wain and Craig Oflynn as judges and couldn’t see them getting it wrong which in my opinion they did not. I also explained that there were a large number of Spanish supporters who were very vocal that sparked off the jeering at the decision, then a few uneducated sheep obviously joined in and they probably enjoyed the spinning elbows and punches which were very wild and inaccurate. I love a good atmosphere and people giving it loads for the boxer they support as I did for Liam H that night so I apologise to anyone who was sat near me and almost deaf by the end of the bout! But id much rather hear support for their own fighter than animosity or hostility towards their opponent, there’s no need for it, for the majority of people in MT in the UK it is a hobby which people enjoy the crack in the gym with the lads and the training and like a good scrap. Spoils the enjoyment the fighters get from the sport when things like this happen and people who know nothing about scoring shouting at judges is more annoying than anything.
There was a great encouraging atmosphere last weekend at the show in Cambridge between lumpini Southampton, singo and touchgloves corner team and supporters which made everyone including the boxers take more out of the day.
I had mates up on the balcony and they never heard anything??? Where is Beckenham and West Sussex though just so I can avoid those areas! hahaha ;-) x
Cheers Jesse but I really don't care when people are to scared to put a name to their stupid digs. If you have any balls then you put your name to it and share your opinion instead of hiding like a coward x
From where I was standing there was only loud support & cheer for Dave, he deserve no less for his brilliant contribution to muaythai himself & his support to other fighters. the guy is a legend!! xx
and chill out Brian mate, babychalk doesn't mean "legend" in muay thai terms as in Sanchai, she's a mate so she talking as a mate and not about my level in muay thai. Its all getting a bit serious isn't it...lol x
Rules are rules, i cant stand to see decent judges questioned when all they did was their job and they did it correctly. Obviously it is nice when English boxers win against foreign opposition Dave,Ruth,Danny,Dean,Michael,Rob. But they were not and would not ever be done any favours. Its done pretty fairly over here in comparison to when our boxers go abroad IMO.
just found this....lol who the hell wrote it they made me look like a right twat!!! "barely could finish the fight" and "exhausted" rofl...just been dealt a 1st class ticket right to central Chinatown from whoever wrote it haha
Veteran Saenchai, who has won various titles and awards in Thailand, has defeated the U.K.’s top fighter Liam Harrison in the Muaythai Legends event on February 8, but the Thai had impressed the spectators at the Fairfield Hall in London even before the match began when he came out to the ring dancing to the traditional Northeastern Thai music.
Saenchai, nicknamed “the top fighter of Maha Sarakham”, started the fight in the first round with tricky kicks in attempts to keep distance from the much-larger Harrison who is known for heavy left punches. The Thai used a combination of kicks aiming at his opponent’s face but the British fighter was quick enough to block it.
In the second round, Saenchai displayed some more advanced kicking techniques, earning himself applauses from the spectators, while Harrion continued to press forward to exchange flurries with the tricky Thai.
In the third round, Harrison was hit several times by Saenchai’s kicks but he was also able to return his opponents with some punches. Saenchai grappled the British that led to some kneeing sessions.
In the 4th round, Harrison became increasingly exhausted, while Saenchai pressured him with various tricks that included a jump kick. The British was critically hit with a traditional flipping left kick in the last round and barely had enough strength to continue the fight.
Saenchai won the match unanimously, apparently earning himself a large number of British fans who flocked to him when he came down from the ring.
As the fight ended, the British promoter immediately contacted Saenchai’s S.K.V. Gym, asking to have the Thai return to London in July for another match. The Thai gym, however, has not agreed with the deal as Saenchai is already scheduled for a fight in Japan in June.
Saenchai grappled the British that led to some kneeing sessions.
Whos the foook calls it kneeing sessions? LOL
and who's harrion? LOL
The British was critically hit with a traditional flipping left kick? in fairness I told you to get out of the way that flipping kick you never listen! haha
Firstly I thought the fight was on the 7th Feb.....
Maybe there was an alter-ego match the next night????
SKV Gym???? I thought he was from 13-coins resort????
Conveiniently forgot you sweeping him off his feet in the 2nd....
Much larger Harrison????
Liam weighed in at 60.5kgs and Saenchai weighed in at 62.5kgs
What about Harrison returning the cartwheel kick back on the "cartwheel-master".... Touche!!!!!
The "reporter" is gonna look a fool when its available on P4TV.COM
IMHO (and also from Saenchai) this was the closest international fight that Saenchai has had.
that guy aint even sent me to the manhatton version...im deep in the depths of beijing...i kicked him off his feet 2x beag come on...you were commentatin and got strangely aroused over it...you had to hand over to tom bird whilst you went to change your underwear
hahahahahahahha what a plumb ..... must have been watchin a diff fight ... Liam this aint the first time this has happened and it wont be the last the people who know, know..... and the people who dont , well they just guess
peelapol22, not sure why you asked me about Danny Taylor's fight, as I was only judging the last 3 fights. However, I was watching it in the stalls with a group from our club and remember talking the fight through and totally agreed with the decision. A few of the lads were swayed by the flashy spinning and jumping elbows, but from where I was seated, it looked like they had no affect on Danny. I actually think most missed, plus Danny looked as if he walked through all of them and obviously none resulted in a cut, so they were not scoring well, although entertaining to watch! Danny was sticking to scoring by kicking the body and dominating the clinch and seemed to get a stronger hold on the fight with each round.
The description of Liam and Seanchai is obviously from someone with a depth of Muay Thai knowledge!
looks like a overly sensationalised report by someone who hasnt even seen the fight. Saenchai's overseas fights are looked after by the S.K.V gym boss Lek, but as far as I know he wasn't approached by any British promoters about July
Who wrote that and where did u find it? Jump kick, Kneeing sessions?
Maha Sarakham lol this prawn has included ridiculous details without even bothering to research what really actually happened in the bout. Im glad Liam isnt the kind of lad to be on the phone in a club crying over this lol China.
Fensom writes:
Yeah, I brainwashed babychalk!!! hahahaha ;-) x
Peelapol22, is that all you've got to say now???
you dont even know where beckenham and west sussex are? sorry i forgot you live in thailand bwaaaahhh we need more people like brian on here and less like brainwashedchalk who is probably you like mmabackstreetbrawler and valeriew to name a handful i got told there is more though ?????
Babychalk is a girl from Minotaurs, a good mate of both mine and Daves! We dont need to go under an alias to post on here, were not cowards and are quite happy to post under our real names!
