Hi
Just a teaser to a show im planning in the next couple of months at possibly the Adelphi Hotel Liverpool in the main function room. Tables of 10 plus seating and entertainment. The shows main focus is an 8-man tournament in the Super Flyweight category -59. Confirmed so far to compete is Shane Cadogan from Siam Camp Ireland and we are just waiting for confirmation of others with European entrants also. This is an A class tournament FTR's and is set to be a cracker. Also the winner of this tournament will receive sponsorship from www.forthegloryof.co.uk and will receive training/fightwear/equipment for a whole year.
Thoughts please on possible names, the usual top ten as took from muaythaionline at that weight…
-59
1 Rob Storey Keddles
2 Marc Brown Lumpini Crawley
3 Mark Tim SMTC
4 Davey MacIntosh Bad Company
5 Carl Copestake K-Star
6 Saab Singh Keddles
7 Kevin Kovalic Wutang
8 Nick Opyrchal Diablo
9 John Cassidy Dean Whites Gym
10 Simon Audley Sapphire
You don't have to be ranked to fight - underdogs welcome.
This will be a UKMF sanctioned show. Please mail me on info@forthegloryof.co.uk for any info or entrants or call me on 07727032681

Noel@dieselgym.co.uk
I think uve got a great chance Jonno. Never say die never been dropped should stand u in great stead in a tourny. Good luck pal
Obviously down to Mr Smith, but theres 3 from Badco who maybe interested....I reckon they could all compete at british/euro-level at 59kgs, and could all step up to this challenge
- Andy Howson
- Davy Mac
- Kyle fella
damien trainor
andy h
dean james
great names but probably will not be able to fight next couple of months as fighting on master skens show would rule them out.
would have to look at date after to get the top names
best of luck to all and when I say all I mean just Shane:)
paddy
im defo interestead. jus need to contact john jarvis.
Lets not forget stephen meleady
He might be about 59 in age and weight but I'd still have a few quid on Storey
kevin kovlac not sure he is in the same league, not being rude and am sorry if my comment offends, andy howsen, dean james is a good call
I have a guy, who is well up for this Robin Downer
Nice idea Si!
I'm a touch heavy (only my a multiple of 2 though), so I'll pass!
Davy Mac, John Dick, Stevie Brown, Marc Brown, Stephen Meleady, Shane Cadogan, Dean J, god the list goes on.
Gotta get Stevie Brown from Wossobama.
Very exciting fighter, current Scottish champ at 60kg could do 59 no probs.
Seen him fight as low as 57
yer i can vouch for stevie making 59 as i fought him at that weight 2 months ago lol
Si what date are you talking about doing this?? 59 too heavy for me but davy may be interested but he is a 57 fighter but for 2k I'm sure he'd have a crack, we also have john dennis who can make 59 aswell so get in touch with Mr Smith mate.
Jonno this is going to sound harsh mate but please don't take offence to it as your my mate and that but IMO you shouldn't be in this! The names mentioned are all top uk level so gar and that's really how it should be, again no offence meant mate but when did you last win a fight?? It just wouldn't be fair on the people in it who have actually been beating good fighters and deserve there place you no what I mean??
Hey Andy , No offence ever taken of u mate.
Ofcourse i see ur point, people like Davy and that been gettin the V's lately
and deserve the shot more.
Si asked for underdogs too tho , i know i wouldn't be favorite in this lol.
But u know me, i love to fight.
an thats all i wanna do.
and prove i can fight at that level, which i believe i can.
Sup to the promoter tho at the end of the day.
I wouldnt take offence either way cause i know u all an it wouldnt be malicious.
it dunt sound harsh mate x
I was just a writing a reply about Jonno should be allowed in this etc etc and there are some good arguments for letting underdogs in but as I was writing it I realised a likely scenario might be a top flight fighter beating Jonno and therefore gaining an easy way thorugh the next round of a tournament and that wouldnt be fair to the all the other contenders who get matched against people of their own level.
I admit a few underdogs would make it exciting for spectators if they did well.I actually believe that with the right training and time Jonno (and Si to be honest, because Si could easily be included in Andy's argument, God knows I love him but its not far from the same deal really) could do really well and maybe cause some upsets possibly. But the more i think the more I agree with Andy in this. They could just end up paving the way for someone to have an easy way through a tournament?
Jonno this is no disrespect cause your a top lad, I love watching your fights, you never shy away from a challenge, I think you've got really good technique and I know you'd step up to this in a heart beat and might do well in it.Just my twopennorth.
Cool idea by the way Si cant believe you never told me about this, you've got so many secrets from me these days, you never tell me anything anymore.I had to find out about this the same time as everyone else on the internet!!?I dont know you anymore, Im hurt!!!haha
just because jonno hasnt won in a while doesnt mean he cant compete or fight at that level.... he gives his all in every fight and always goes the distance so whoever he fights has to earn the win... hes young and wants to fight so why shouldnt he... andy no offence mate but just because there are top level fighters in there so what ??? its a tournament anything can happen... good luck jonno if you do it... prove em wrong mate ;)
Al great points lads, my version is… its different to the normal rankings effected fights i.e. normal fights that win or lose can effect your position in the rankings. Look at Chris Shaw, wasn't it him who got to the final against Jordan Watson in the Contender eliminators who hadn't fought for two years but was still favourite to win it. Wasn't it Chris's 1st FTR fight too??? The underdog has a great chance in tournaments, possible injuries - the luck of the draw - some of the top ten mentioned above might not even be able to compete so that opens it up for others to have a go.
Think i'm obviously going to pick the strongest 8 fighters plus 2 reserves who if arn't used in the tournament will fight each other on the show, I will be in touch with any coaches that put fighters forward and go from there.
Plus we will have the usual C & B class bouts.
Si
John Dennis v Shane Cadogan errrr thats a digusting fight
Looks like a brilliant tourny Si and at such a busy weight, you shouldn't have the difficulty replacing injured fighters etc.
Onto the underdog in tournaments... At the last POS 8 man, Dean James beat Sebastian Ocania but then wasn't fit to continue. Ocania was re-entered and went on to win the thing. 8 man tournaments are a lottery, anything can happen.
Best of luck with it mate.
Thats what I mean dougie its a very open field even tho some of the fighters that are possibly in the show will be alot more experienced than others. Tournaments are class like that, they throw up obstacles and curve balls not just to the fighters but the promoters too LOL
Fair enough, dont know where I stand on it now!!?haha, either way will be a total beast (for us spectators!!), cant wait.
Now now wainey don't spit ya dummy out i was just making a point, I like jono you both no that, I wouldn't have gave him my shorts after wmc world title fight if I didn't like him would I?? You say just cause he hasn't won a fight in a while? Again not been funny but when was the last win and who against?? I no you've fought alot of the top lads and you always give your all mate and no fucker can ever question your heart and that's what I like but there is other fighters out there who'd be classed as underdogs againstcthe likes I'd Davy, shane, marc brown, and john dennis that have been fighting and winning you no what I mean?? It's not an insult I just believe there is alot mor people at such a competative weight division that could-should be in it. Just mho that's all. And fuck it Audley I want I depending when you doing it :)
Erm i lost a close fight to kyle , got robbed in chester which i took short notice (fought wank tho), jordan c beat me 2 week after i drew with aaron o callaghan.Willie murphy beat me 3 week before i fought kyle.erm audley beat me over a good 5 rounds.last guy i had my hand raised against was ashley goodwin like 5 fights ago , lol my forehead was massive.I had sunstroke.
But all of the losses have been v. close and i got robbed once or twice.
No excuses tho , i have a few fights lined up b4 this and i plann to win them.
anyway enough of this about me an my underachievments lol,
Back to the 8 man.
If im in it ill give it everything ,
If im not ill cheer for everyone in it
x
Ant Ferguson ? , meleady is deffo a good call , Audley himself! , Marc Brown , Shane and John would be a ridiculous fight , Big'Mac attack or Howson , lots of sick fighters i would love to c in this tbh.
Well in Simon , great idea btw
Is there a proposed month for this or waiting on feedback?
this is jus what ive been hoping would happen for a few years now. cant wait :)
well i had a far from successful year last year!! but i did take on sum tuff fights ie jd n davy mac! i would defo be an under dog but if i got the nod i would give it 110% changeing gyms was tuff in afue ways but now minatours no what i need 2 work on and i no there going 2 get the best outa me!!
wkd idea, love it mate! what date would this show be?? some brilliant names mentioned above which could make some really interesting fights. Danny Taylor, Marc Brown, John Dennis, Davy Mac, Andy Howson, Shane Cadogan, Jonno Chipchase, Ant Ferguson. just noticed 3 of the names are from 1 gym lol.
U missed out Dean James , the pump wearing master :)
Stephen Meleady would love to have jumped in on this show, having a close fight with Davy Mac and stopped both John Dick and Stevie Brown last year he would have been a good contender but he is going to Thailand for a year in March to train and fight. should be an even stronger contender when he returns.
great idea Si, the adelphi is a good venue aswell! all of the names mentioned would make a cracking tourny tho! i'd say deffo danny taylor, john dennis and davy mac
Simon
Count Anthony Ferguson in if this goes ahead he is up for the challenge
Looks like you've got a sellout on yer hands here Si.
This could potentially be one of the best 8-man tournaments the Uk has seen.
I was on the phone to Stevie Brown yesterday and he said providing his manager Alan Currie says it's ok then he too would be keen to get involved.
Exciting!
albert chey would be good in the mix, france. he has a nice style
Francis maina looked really good at the last legends.
Carl Copestake would enter.
isn't Jonno fighting for the ISKA commonwealth title soon? That would qualify him
Could make this a 16 man tourney at this rate. Dont forget Ranjit Dheer, he has been fighting well since coming to my gym, fights Jonno Chipchase march 21st which should be good for both of them. And yes he is interested in the 8 man tourney
Nigel
this sounds like a great show but if you're talking euro contenders aswell then surely no room for fighters that haven't proved themselves for this kind of prize... top fighters will put on a better value for money show, maybe a smaller underdog show before hand to win a place in this.......
Im fighting that fight to fight Ranjit..Steve L ,
and get a place higher in the rankings.
Im not really bothered about titles personally.
I just want good fights against good fighters because i am, after all,
a fighter lol.
Up to my coach and the promoters all this stuff tho -_-.
I just fight who they put in front of me and try me best.
This is looking mint!! Si , so many great names being banded around ,
Maybe blindleadingthestupids got a point ? ,
Smaller tournament or summat
Haha outside sapphire gym at 2am?.
feather dusters and kilts.
yeah i really like Jonno but im with andy i dont think your rerady for these fightsd yet mate your rushing it a bit i think...youve lost to Si, Kyle Jordetc and these guys are bigger more experienced and the cream of the crop and another level up from those guys, no rush tho mate your still young, i think you need to be fighting people with the same experience as you to be honest and rack up a few wins.
I respect both ur opinions mate, and i get them.
but it isnt up to me lol ,
i fight who i get pointed at.
Who me trainers want me to fight...and because i trust them i believe i have
a chance at winning whatever fight they put me in to.
I have a few people my exp lined up tho, and one less at craigs (first time ever! ha),
i feel alot better at this weight.
Ill prove all this in the ring anyway.
Hope ur good Gms,
This show is ridiculous.
Im not missing it for the world!
When all said and done no matter what anyone thinks of it its down to the promotor and whichever fighters put there names forward. If for instance Si's happy with Jonno in it and Jonno and his camp are down then it is what it is.Controversy and underdogs could well sell more tickets aswell which is what its all about.Whoeever wants the prize money just has to fight whoever is put infront of them or dont enter.
what if andy or dean james fought in it and drawn Jonno in the 1st round?? got to think about things like that i think, Jonno would end up gettin pointlessly hurt just cos he was out of his depth...these things need to be thpought about
If he gets hurt that is his look out, people have advised him hes out of his depth. My main concern is that some fighters would get a really easy way through the tournament. Not that the contender tournament was easy for any of the fighters but I did think Jordan Watson had the toughest route through from the start.
But then there is that element of an outside chance that cant be denied that make something like this interesting. If Jonno's (or whoeever else is an outsider) camp is advised of the the calibre of fighters in the competition and the promotor is happy and the camp is happy then they all grown ups, they can do what they want. There are so many variables in a tournament that im sure your more aware of than me.For example a high calibre fighter taking a real hard fight in the first fight and getting badly bashed and losing to someone of a much lower calibre to someone like Jonno just cause he might be potentially fresher in a later stage of competition. These are the associated risks surely hence a higher amount of prize money etc and it also not counting toward the official rankings?
I think everyones got valid points, alot of us are good mates and wouldn't like to see anyone get needlessly hurt this is why I will put together the strongest 8 men and 2 reserves who if are not used will fight at the end of the show after the final. In the same breath this is a fighting sport and none of us come out of these fights without picking up some kind of knocks. For instance if John Dennis - Shane Cadogan - Dean James - Andy Howson (john & andy are both badco tho) etc etc were confirmed then I would have to seriously look at it from a safety point of view and put certain people in as reserves and go that way. I think what liam and andy are saying is would you put John Dennis v's Jonno Chipchase on as a normal fight FTR on a promotion. I personally wouldn't, not that jonno wouldn't give it his all cos ive fought jonno and he'll die on his feet before giving up, but John Dennis is too strong once re-hydrated and full of food. Sorry to use you jonno, its the same for a load of other people too.
If everyone else who's interested puts there names in I can put together an idea of whos in it and work from there. Looking like it will be a great show. Just spoke to Paul Hamilton and UKMF is right behind it and i'm going to pick his brains over the Contender Eliminator show that I went to. It really kept me on the edge of my seat, and this show will be the same as that show.
please email me on sapphiregym@talktalk.net or info@forthegloryof.co.uk with any entrants
si
i see the points made but still think its an unfair critisiscm..... using myself as an example... fought alix james in my 4th fight... only second fight ftr and id lost 2 out of the 3 id had at that point.... did everyone think id lose... yes... did i lose ??? no !!! thats my point... the issue of rehydration etc etc can be looked at across alot of weights si... some fighters naturally fight close to there weight some boil down alot to fight at a weight for the advantage...its the game aslong as the weight is made thats how it happens...
wainey alix james isnt andy howson, Davy Mac John Dennis Dean James Shane Cadogan etc etc and Jonno isnt you
I think we are being a bit unfair to Jonno...
All the top names have had fights where there has been a gulf in experience, but the thing that makes this exciting is that it is literally down to the luck of the draw.
It also comes down to the mental preparation of the fighter, cos if people see Jonno as not much of a threat, then they will under-estimate him, and he will always have a punchers/kickers chance.
There is always gonna be a gamble, whether its fighting domestically or internationally. Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, there is scope for discussion on this matter....BUT if Jonno was a "foriegn name" then we wouldnt know anything about him; And we would see in the fight, that he had heart and determination to have-a-go.
Fair play to him, I say....
PS John Dennis would be humongous at 59kgs! :)
I also think we being a bit unfair to Jonno, I think his name is now just being used as an example aswell as, and rather than just talking about him directly.Sorry Jonno mate!!there are plenty of other rank outsiders names being put forward I reakon!!
If you get in this good on ya mate, but for gods sake train like fxxk!!!
jonno is a sound lad and has shown willing to fight anybody.
i believe he has had 9 fights 5 ftr and look at the names he has fought.
maybe not won but gone the distance and ;lost on points.true respect.
to me firstly if it goes a head only one fighter from one gym as otherwise can not be fair result. not saying people would cheat but it is limiting the options for other gyms and fighters.
Rob Storey
davey mac
dean james
ant fergeson
marc brown
si audley
john dennis
shane cadogen
i would pick these personally as they are fighting on most of the big shows in the last year
and the two reserves jonno chipchase and francis maina
liam the point wasnt who he was namesake the point was it was experienced against inexperienced... someone ranked against someone who wasnt... the same point people are saying jonno shouldnt be allowed to fight in that class for.... its a tournament.... look at pos 55kg 8man.... andy got samboonbap 1st fight... won via tko 1st round due to his shoulder popping out... then got varatz 2nd round and got stopped tko via a cut... dean beat oceana but broke his rib so couldnt continue... it happens and not always the favourite will win a tournament because of the nature it is... its the same as any fight its what happens on the day .... in my eyes anybody can fight anyone and still have a chance of winning regardless of name... experience etc etc... we could all sit here and write until were blue in the face ... id like to see jonno in it with some of the big names.... and alot of you wouldnt ... simple ...
you are all being totally ridiculous...jonno has lost to Kyle Fella, Jordan Calder Paul Okeefe etc, he just isnt in the same league as the people mentioned above thats whats simple...i really like jonno and got alot of time for him, but hes not ready yet...not to say he wont be able to fight those guys in a year or 2 but he is not ready yet, im sorry but if he fought Davy Mac, Danny Taylor, Shane Cadogan, John dennis he would get hurt, whats the point rushing things, hes already lost to people more experienced than him so what on earth would be the point in putting him in with even more experienced people than those who have already beaten him...it would be poor management in my opinion and i hope it doesnt happen until Jonno is ready cos he is a nice kid and i want to see him winning.
I wouldn't even dream of putting Jordan in with those guys, and he has beat Jonno.
what other fighters from europe are being considered?
This is good for the sport best v the best and the sport can only go one way rather than just having the k1 max or heavyweight k1 grt idea
now I have a fighter at 57-58kg who has been with me 16 years and is number WKA & ISKA low kick champion and just got a draw with John Dick after only been half fit he could well be the prized underdog for this comp Sunny The Hitman Hira I have been coaching Sunny the Thai style now for a few years so lets get it on
Chin Down
why make it european? surely a good chance for UK based fighters to get a decent payday and tournament format means that anyone can win it... enough quality names and underdogs to make this an amzing tournament, total sell out - could prob do 16 man - Id say just stick to UK....
European and beyond would be top idea but this being only Si's 3rd show it might be a little ambitious? That in mind I agree keep this uk and give someone a good payday.I reakon this could be something really good he can build on.Si's got some really good ideas.
Vis a vis the underdog topic, it really is all academic as I imagine a lot of names will be seriously put forward and Si says he is going to choose the strongest 8 names suggested with 2 spares. With the names mentioned so far I imagine even the 2 spares (whoever they maybe) could be a top bill on many shows!!
I think a UK only tournament where both finalists then get the chance in a European tournament and the two finalists from that enter into a world tournament.
Just an idea...
FB'Slim
bloddy hel fatboy ho much dosh yu think audleys got lol
interesting points from a lot of angles here including brians would he want Jordan fighting Dean or Andy NO but Jonnos heart and bottle nobody doubts at all it doesnt need prooving that you have heart mate and a fight with maybe one of these two isnt a great match on paper plus if ended early it gives a fresher man an easier ride to the next round... however...
the is the whole tournament thing anything can happen in one with the draw and carrying injuries into the next round etc. but that only counts beyone the 1st bout which of course you must qualify for 1st, there are so many scenarios but i guess you could lose an opening bout and winner not be able to continue and so get through and fight someone knocked up and win again lol the possibilites are endless.
how about having that as a reserve bout for the reserve to come into a tournament like Tim Thomas did in the K1 at excel?
Similar points here from when Scorpions didnt want Steve in the contender thing incase he drew Jay Woodham and you can see peoples point.
Maybe something of this scale you should have to qualify for and like double the purse or something cuz audley got scandalcash, no wait a minute its officially now called...
scandal riche
Someone who acquired and retained wealth through shady deals that were later exposed.
eg. Dan was forced to join a second rate country club because the arms dealing and stock manipulation stories in the newspaper made him too scandal riche for polite society.
lol only joking si ;-)
Look guys.....
We all know that promoters are millionaires! These shows fund themsleves and leave a huge balance for the promoter to enjoy at the end! They all bitch and moan about the shows etc but really the only thing they really struggle with is which high interest Savings ISA thingamy to put all the dosh into!
;-)
(tongue firmly in cheek)
FB'Slim
lol I wish I was scandal riche
The twists and turns of tournaments are great tho, im excited already and havent confirmed a date yet LOL
we'll at least its a dead cert you have interest ;-)
once a date is fixed a number of people may well be out of the running anyway due to pre commited fights / thailand etc etc
hopes its in march!!!!!!! lol as iam in thailand from apr-july
very true noel, it will all come together as we get closer to it but just to wet the appetite heres the names that subject to date and there conditions blah blah blah have been put forward…
Shane Cadogan WPMF World Champion
Danny Taylor UKMF British Champion
Marc Brown UKMF English Champion
Dean James European Champion
John Dick ISKA British Champion
Carl Copestake IKF English Champion (I think)
John Dennis Rising superstar of Muay Thai
Jonno Chipchase Fearless Competitor rising young Talent
Ant Ferguson Another Excellent talented Rising Star
There are more names been put forward the list could go on, I think the reserves have to be not as experienced as the 8 so when they and if they did get a buy into say the 2nd round through injury that evens it up a bit.
i.e. a bashed up sancheai would still fook me up after 2 fights would he not?
If you really wanted to set the cat amongst the pidgeons, maybe the Highland Warrior, Rungnakorn Kharnpan could drop to 59kgs.....
hope its after March - then Francis can nick Ants place on the list ;-)

Just spoke to Rung and hes interested.
Stevie
oh god i cant wait for this now
rate this is going could prob do a 32 man, 2 rings running at once!
will have to do a draw for the draw
it'l be bad enough trying to handle Si on a daily basis running up to an 8 man without silly suggestions like 32 man and 2 rings at once.Spare a thought for those of us that have to bare the brunt of Audley's stress!!!!haha

59 too big for brincatt anyway he walks round at 56-57
yeah joey has hollow bones.lol
thought of joey myself, but Lee Colville sounds like it would put the cat amongst the pigeons so to speak. Theres one more name confirmed as a runner McRung has just been confirmed as a definate.
My god this gets better, someone get Colville in it too! Theres £2000 and a belt thats what his management were asking for come on lee get on this.

This show has the potential to be one of the most exciting 8-man tournaments the UK has seen.
Looking at the Sunday 27th June for date and venue confirmed for monday.
if thats the date then thats wicked!!! i will be fresh back from thailand hopefuly with afue new tricks!! :)
I can see everyone getting out to thailand before this LOL and yes potentially elbows - elbows - elbows all the way :-) we are having a meeting on monday to decide all the points of the show.
"liam badco writes: £50 on JD another 50 if he fights Lee on jd to bongle him"
Your on Liam.
As its a tourney it has to do with the draw, but I would take a guess at a Rung v JD final....
i would guess a colville, james final
Use all must be steamin haha Big Note on JD.
Everyones is gonnay have there favourites like any toury you cant really pick whos going to win until the draw has been made i can remember when people were saying michael dicks was going to win the power of scotland 8-man and he was drawn with craig jose and then got beat in the first fight. its a crackin line-up and theres going to be some explosive fights.
who you got confirmed then si ??? or how many are confirmed should i say ;)
Isn't -59kg Super Featherweight, not Super Fly weight?
Ive Spoken to Simon Rung and he is looking to get you in, keep yourself fit, and no beer on the 20th feb lol
No offence but if John whacks most people at 59 its gunna be goodnight, espeicially seen as now he's hitting better and looking better than ever. x
john dennis all day long...... cant miss this show
Personally i think Rung will shake this up, he walks around at 62-63 and normally is matched between 63-64.5 all his opponents are massive compared to him they often step in the ring in the 70's, this time he will be one of the biggest.

get me in it
QUALITY he has a right whack on him for 59kg remember the showers fight, wow!
its a superfeatherweight tourny, thats a typo cause i called it Super fly -59, i had fly on the mind! LOL
Its a catchy name "super" from superfeather "Fly" slang for: knowledgeable; alert and in the know. : This dude is fly, elite the best! -59 (do I have to explain?) haha!
Will be speaking to coaches next week and confirming details with people I am interested in having on the show, the proposed line up so far has really blown me away. Thats some of the most talented fighters in that weight in Europe.
If your name has been put forward can you please send me a hi-res pic for the poster & your current title held please x
send to info@forthegloryof.co.uk
si
Really looking forward to this event.
It's the sort of thing Sky Sports should be showing aswell.
Simon
any sponsors for this show !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pete like I tried to explain to you the other day before you stormed off! It was my fault I never checked what type of photographer they where bringing. I was about to give you some money to cover your loss for the day. But i'm fucking telling you know, if you have a problem come and see me don't come on the thread and make smart arse comments OK?
Thanks to the people who have sent profile pics in, fighters will recieve custom shorts to fight in on the day so please include what size you are! the interest has been massive and I will be able to confirm venue early next week. Tickets go on sale March, anyone interested in tables please email info@forthegloryof.co.uk for more details.

Simon
not a problem , hopefully catch up at the charity dinner and have a few pints..
I have no doubt this will be one of the events of the year ...
Done 7 or 8 8man tournaments and they are mint..
If Iam not working ill be in the crowd watching..
cheers
Pete
looking now to start matching other supporting fights for the card, 5 fights a mixture of C & B class. I have some exciting news coming soon.
go on si tell us that your going to promote and fight in the event ??? ;)
Personally, I think it would be risky to promote and fight on the same event.
Si is always fit, so he could be one of his own reserve fighters for the tournament....like a guaranteed back-up plan? :)
Si is always Fit????you do realise we talking about si audley think you confused him with some other Si?hahahahaha. No way he could do both I saw how stressed he got over organising his first big show last year
all his hair almost fell out
Lol hell no I'm not fighting in it! Just trying to organise some special things to make the tourny a classic.
Listen up Goulden (sicknote) I'm fitter than you when I'm out of shape ;)
I maybe fit but I'm not mad enuf to fight in the tourny that I'm promoting, although there are some names on there that I'd love to say I'd fought when my body finally gives up the ghost and my rocking chair arrives!
any ideas on whacks for supporting bouts? Namsaknoi v France?
How about till v Harris part duex? ;)

www.forthegloryof.co.uk are pleased to announce Marc Brown is confirmed as the 2nd entrant in the Superfly -59 UKMTF WMC sanctioned tournament.
Currently Ranked no.2 and holding the UKMTF English Title
Good luck with this Simon, 8man tourney's are a nightmare to organise, but worth it in the end. I was actually looking at doing a 60kg on POS in May, but would rather just buy a ticket to yours, as I want to keep my hair! :) All the best to the fighters involved also!
how exciting is this? Great stuff
Thanks gary & dave, hope its not messed up your plans Gary. It's all ready stressful and were nowhere near the show! :-0
Hahhaah check you out Mr Brown ;)

ISKA WORLD CHAMPION
hasn't marc got nice eyes by the way x
He's got really nice eyes!!! I wouldn't mind doing a bit of daytime drinking with him and a bottle of date rape.
LOL....does this taste of rohypnol?
By the way the bets up and running on sids site, should work out as a right pot for who wins it, will work out as good odds also, I'm gonna throw a few tenners on a few guys just not sure who yet
if ya gonna date rape me i`l be wanting a meal first :)
Can't promise a meal marc but can promise a rinseing and trust me il do it right! Sometimes people on here forget that I have actualy made love to a man before. Prick tease.
I once knew a girl who was that ugly she used to take her own bottle of rohypnol out with her!
anyway back on topic are they green your eyes or blue marc ;-)
sorry paul but i was jus flirting. my arse is EXIT only.lol
il be the judge of that marc! Queer eye for the straight guy! It was almost Black eye for the katoy when I realized.
I'll get you two a room ;@ hope to confirm more entrants next week with some nice support card fights aswell x
stop it fellas your making me feel dirty.lol
www.forthegloryof.co.uk are pleased to announce John Dennis is confirmed as the 4th entrant in the Superfly -59 UKMTF WMC sanctioned tournament.
www.forthegloryof.co.uk are pleased to announce John Dennis is confirmed as the 4th entrant in the Superfly -59 UKMTF WMC sanctioned tournament.
woohooo! its getting better and better ;)
John Dennis to win all day long. No one will even come close. Jono their right above your not ready just yet. Although AndyBC is bang out of order. PUBLIC FORUM not personal dig forum. Freedom of speach and all that babble but that could have been done away from this message board.
john dennis is gonna tear this up. Come on JD!!!!x
Irll be surprised if John Dennis will make 59kg????
he made 60.9 for his last fight no problem so extra 2kg shouldnt be too hard
shane cadogan is also at big 59kg, rung at 59kg will be fast and strong. Marc also and any of the others that are entered from now on. Thats the thing with the tourny…
For instance…
John v Rung 1st round - say JD wins but suffers a cut, and has a war with rung.
John v Shane 2nd round - shane concentrates on the cut, opens it up badly fight stopped 1st round of the 2nd fight - shanes goes into final with an easier 2nd fight
and this can go all through the tourny with any of the above paired up.
plus john made that weight having to fly to japan, i've heard you retain water on planes so theres the 2kg
sick tourny !!!!!! 4 left ;)
anything can happen in tornaments, and this one is looking real good so far...any others confirmed???
shane vs jd would be a good fight ...
agree wainey if they get each other 1st round it'll be chaos :-)
plus with the names so far put forward the after show party's gunna be sick :-0
are their any other names confirmed yet si?
sorry boys iv'e been dead busy, more news of opponents soon with some exciting fighters in the mix!
and supporting card…
you'll prob all piss your selfs but if carl copestake is in this i'll have £20 on him
Every fighters human,
All have arms legs an heart.
No reason Carl Couldnt win if hes in
thats what i like to see gaz confidence in the bet your putting on lol

brilliant shaping up ..to be a belter
good luck steve. hopefully i'l get dwn for this. defo value for money with steve and his love for all things elbow related
Get Jonno in there!
ill second that !!!!!
jonnos sti8ll not ready hes on a good winning streak now 2 out of 2 because hes fighting at his actuall proper level instead of being overmatched and slung in at the deepend., this is good for him if he keeps doing this one more year he can fight with the likes of rung, John Dennis and stevie Brown but it would be silly now when hes just starting to find his feet properly. hes my mate and i dont wanna see him lose unnecesarily
Delighted to see Stevie Brown in the tournament, very dangerous fighter. All the best mate.
Looking to match the following for July.......

Si
mr h .... ill still disagree lol.... he held his own against will murphy in ireland who noone questioned in the pos 8 man as hes a good fighter... i look at it in the way of if you dont try you dont find out.. i think hes capable and lets face it , its a tournament... i think it would suit jonno
Simon I have a lad @58KG will have turned 16 by the show to match with Josh Kehoe also have a few other lads if you want them.
wainey what fight did you watch in ireland will murphy was too strong for jonno, jonno even said it to me after the fight cos i was in hi9s corner, then will murphy was beaten pretty easily by john dick in the pos tourny.
get me in there mann im bustin my ars out here :)
jonno took some scandal knees against murphy.
get deano in there hes fought and beat who were at the time the curent number 1's at 55,57,59
i watched that one liam and ill stand by what i said...

well in robin, giving away a bit of exp. but defo worth it for u m8.
Heard good things about robin fought Rung recently at took it to a points decision to Rung but fought really well from all accounts. Last person plus the reserves will be announced this week including the support card.
At this weight alot of the lads have fought each other already and have some scores to settle and some great fights that haven't happened yet that will be getting talked about for sometime to come. In this tournament there are some possible candidates for domestic fight of the year.
Weigh in for the tournament will be at the The Adelphi Hotel 6.00pm Saturday 3rd July with face off photos of all 8 competitors.
May the best man win!
si
Just heard through the grapevine that LOZ RILEY is the 8th man in the tournament. Now this just got interesting...
Si Audley writes:
"Some scores to settle"
Haha, SOME, SOME, Si...there are loads of scores to settle in this one.
Robin Downer lost (very controversially) to Mark Brown
Rung won by narrowest of margins against Robin
Stevie stopped Loz in 3rd round
John Dennis beat Stevie Brown
Stevie Brown stopped Robin on cuts
John Dennis beat Anthony Ferguson
There's more than a couple of scores to settle in there.
Plus of course then there is Shane Cadogan, he has fought some top guys too:
Danny Taylor (twice)
Andy Howson
Paul Karpowicz (who has also fought John Dennis twice)
This is gonna be an exceptional 8 Man tourny. Best of luck to Si and everyone at Saphire gym and 'For the Glory Of' promotions. I can't wait!
awesome tournament - gutted we couldnt be a part of it but defo next time...Si's a top man for putting this together....cant wait to find out the draw
all the best to robin,we know you can do your best. All the best to rung and stevie too

big doogie aff the telly fkd your secrets si lol
Thanks to simon for making us part of this tourny robins back in training now and is looking forward to locking horns with all the big guns, like dougie said theres alot of scores to settle lolol
"Big Dougie off the telly" haha
wasn't a secret just couldn't get the computer to load the poster fast enough lol.
By the way the help dougies giving me with the new package he's providing and the brand new equipment he's invested in really is going to make the show POP!
I think it's possibly one of the most exciting 8 man line ups i've seen (if I do say so myself). Don't think I could of wished for a better line up, it's got a mix of experience, youthfull hunger, and heavyhitting - elbow happy fighters that will have everyone sitting on the edge of their seats.
Plus a great support card…
Josh Keogh (Sapphire Gym) v Jack Cooper (Teeside Muay Thai) C Class 58kg
Ste Foy (Fortitudo Thai) v Karl Pearson (Frank's Gym) C Class 59kg
Keith McLaclan (Phoenix) v TBC B Class
Darren Till (Sapphire Gym) v Tom Key (Lumpini Crawley) B Class 70kg
John Gillies (Sapphire Gym) v Lyndon Knowles (Minatours Gym) B Class Superheavyweight

on paper the 2 fighters to stand out to be winners are shane and john dennis.... tourny though so anything can happen... but my money would be on shane if im honest . best of luck to all...
I'm certain that whoever wins the tournament will NOT have faced Stevie B in Round 1. Even if someone does beat Stevie Brown in Round 1, they'll not progress to next round in good condition, in my opinion!
defo d.a.t.t. Stevie is a very damaging oppo for any1.
Hope ye'v gt sum subs ready si cos i think yer gony need them. Some tourney for elbows all round.
Whats the script ? Is it 5rounders from the off?

I watched stevie brown V marc deluca on p4 and he's a machine defo wouldnt want to get him rnd 1 :-/ but that goes for alot in the tournament like i've said i'm gunna try and be impartial but obviously I have thoughts on who may take it. Gotta say i'm made up with the final 8. Thats alot of talented fighters on one show!
As it gets closer instead of the nerves I get doing a show, hoping it will go OK! i'm just getting dead excited…gutted i'll be working it LOL

Due to injury Marc Brown has had to withdraw from the competition but has been replaced by an excellent opponent…
Fight name "Deachkalon Sor Somalee"
Oron Deachkalon
He has fought at least 100 times in Lumpini and Ratchadamneon Stadiums.
Overall, he has fought more than 200 times at stadiums throughout Thailand as well as in Japan.
Deachkalon’s major achievements are:
Bangla Patong Champion at 108 lbs
Finalist at Ratchadamneon at 122lbs
Vice Thailand Champion at 122lbs
World Boxing Council Champion at 122 lbs
www.forthegloryof.co.uk welcome him to the tournament
due to a virus Robin Downer will be unable to compete Mr. Jonno 'taxi driver' Chipchase will take his place in the 8 man competition along side Oron and the rest of the tournament contenders, I think the two new fighters will be an asset to the tourny posters to follow :-)
Jonno's a very talented and hungry fighter who leaves it all in the ring and is looking to bring home the £2000
best of luck to john dennis and jonno chipchase. both very sound lads and great friends of mine. i think this may be the first show i will actually buy a ticket for to go and watch :)

The last fight was HONESTLY the best i have ever seen.
ALSO! big well done to mr audley ,
Amazing amazing show
The girls fight was a draw after five rounds, and to be honest no other decision could be given. If you want to know why please contact me direct instead of making sweeping comments on a pubic internet forum when you don't really know what's gone on!!!
As for Keith, what a performance!!! I said after the fight, I don't think I can remember reffing a more exciting fight in this country, absolutely amazing. I think Kieth's had about ten fights, and killed himself to make weight for this tourny. First off he stops Stevie Brown in the first, who in turn stopped Kieth in about 20 secs last time they fought. the he stops WPMF world champion in the 2nd. Going into the final, people are giving him litle chance against the Thai who showed some truly superb skills in his previous fights. Cageyt first round then the fight erupts, Keith drops the thai twice in the 2nd round, but then the thai comes back a bit towards the end of the 3rd. the thai knowing he has to ko to win goes at Keith like a steam train, eventualy forcing a standing eight count for Keith. At the end of three rounds, it a majority draw, so an extra round is called for, but Keith has given his all, and, esp given the weight he has lost, decides not to do the extra round. Totaly guted for him but he can hold his head up high, awesome effort!!!
unlucky keith, hold ur head high, to fight a thai after two strong fights all in the one night wow, well done m8

Dazz if thats about my comment its not sweeping its fact. you have my number if you want to call me.
please post policy for draws on non-draw title bouts, not this one in particular, across the board please.

What a Show , and What a shame that most of the Gyms in the North West Hotbed Didnt ATTEND ...There loss as they missed a very special show..
Promoters can not carry on putting these shows on without all our support...
Yes it was a busy day in the north west & also in the midlands for Muaythai ..
I hope Iam not taking " out of school " but I bet the promoter ended a fair few quid down...

just curious?
why cant you have a draw on a Title fight?
if you Draw? you...... draw .. fight again another day !
Ok Folks,
It's 03:05 and I'm just home!
Full report / comments tomorrow I promise.
Jonno Chipchase WAS BRILLIANT.
Granted, he went out in the first round of fights but... he took the eventual winer the distance and lost on points (to a veteran of over 250 fights). I know that a big fuss is going to be made over Keith and Dekhalon and quite rightly so...I just HAD to say how impressed I was with Jonno who wanted to be in this tournament from the start and had a lot of doubters. You were brilliant mate, I was proud and you should be too.
He's a sweet kid who lights up a room, heart of a lion and is ever improving as a fighter. Tip of the hat to you son!
More on the rest tomorrow but of course...HUGE thank you to Si & Kerry for having me (again), a pleasure to work with!
GREAT GREAT SHOW!
(How often do we get to see a Thai v Thai in the UK?)
best 8 man tournament ever!!!
Classic moments... Jonno and Oron dancing together after there fight... Oron and Rung dancing together before there fight... Oron grinding on Dougie when he got in the ring for the final. LOL that guys a legend!!
Ok, had a few hours sleep, recharged the batteries, got a mug of coffe, a laptop and am in the mood to type.
I apologise people...this could be a long one!
Firstly, I was delighted with the draw, please don't anyone take offence to this but in my opinion in each of the first four fights it was one of the strongest fighters versus one of the less experienced opponents. I say I was delighted with the draw because it meant that the strongest fighters would meet further into the tournament (it's always a shame in a tourny when two of the strongest meet in the first round)
Round 1:
Rung v Loz
Oron v Jonno
Shane v Anthony
Stevie B v Keith
The only 'upset' in Round1 then was Keith stopping Stevie. I say 'upset' with respect and only because these two guys have fought three times previously with Stevie winning all three. Worth mentioning at this point just how much Keith has improved recently, I know that he has changed gyms in the last couple of years and whether or not that's responsible for his vast improvement...I can only guess. On a side note, Keiths Round 1 fight with Stevie was also only his 2nd FTR bout.
Ok Round 2:
Rung v Oron
This was an absolutely quality battle between two hugely experienced Thai nationals. Again, has there ever been a Uk fight between two Thais? Absolutely spell binding stuff and the banter between them throughout was hilarious. Oron and his dancing was hilarious and Rung (being Rung) just joined in, haha. Watching them before the bout you wouldn't believe that within a couple of minutes these guys would be kicking seven shades out of eachother. Oran took his 2nd points decision win of the night.
2nd Fight Round 2:
Keith v Shane
Cagey start from both fighters, Shane is absolutely solid and has really explosive returns (kicks). Keith (having had to cut the most weight) had regained his strength from the weigh in and it was clear from his first round win over Stevie that he was packing some real power (especially in that ridiculous left hook...ouch). Mid way through the second round Keith was on the attack with Shane backtracking toward the neutral corner when Keith landed two left elbows in rapid succession dazing Shane and forcing referee Darren to begin the first count of this fight. As Keith moved back to the other neutral corner I saw him screw his face up and couldn't see why, at that point the ref moved and Shane had THE biggest swelling on his forehead I have EVER seen, he looked like he had two heads, seriously. Still dazed but absolutely rock hard he wanted to continue but was on borrowed time as Keith began to unload forcing a 2nd count at which point Shane's corner sensibly retired him (safety first). Keith takes his second stoppage win of the tournament.
THE MAIN EVENT, £2K Title Fight
Keith v Oran
Another Cagey start from both fighters, Oran being quite slippery and showing his experience in the clinch, nothing there too hurt Keith though who all the time still looked fit strong and dangerous (having only fought two and a half rounds so far in the previous two fights). Round two, Keith begins to move forward and unload the bombs (again, his left hook has dynamite in it), the second big bodyshot drops Oran for a count, Oran recovers...Keith gets straight back to the body and this time a knee drops Oran for a 2nd count, at this point the fight is almost certainly over. Here is where Keith will no doubt be kicking himself, he goes chasing the body shots and at one point throws two left body hooks in succession leaving himself open (much to the dismay of his coach who could be heard screaming DON'T BE CRAZY)...it's too late...BANG...Oran throws an overhand right and seriously rocks Keith who manages to tie Oran up in the clinch and sees out the round avoiding a count. Round 3...Keith still dazed from the huge right in the previous round begins to lose his way with the Thai appearing stronger and stronger with every second, Keith receives a count. Now this became a real Rocky type of final round with both fighters standing toe to toe and literally just swinging...the audience making the most noise of the night, this was a BIG round for Oran.
Final bell! Going into the ring to announce the winner, I knew that it was close (I personally thought Keith may just have done it with his work in Rnd 2) it was a draw and would therefore go to an extra round. Keith who had fought his heart out against a veteran of the sport knew that he didn't have a round left in him. He'd given everything he had and had nothing left in the tank. Unable to continue, Referee Darren Phillips raised the hand of the Thai veteran and with the title of UKMF Superfly 8 Man 2010 Champion to add to his already impressive CV, Oran goes home £2000 richer.
(On a side note, both Oran and Keith were late entries to the tournament due to pullouts from the original line up)
Well there you have it folks (I told you I was in the mood to type)
From my own point of view it was a real heart in mouth show, not because of the tournament but because for the first time ever 'Fight Sport MC' was providing Ring Hire, Stage Hire, Catwalk Hire as well as lights, flames, smoke machine, lasers etc. Naturally, I had a couple of teething problems which a few phonecalls this morning have me feeling much happier about. It was a huge learning curve for me and my little business and again I really want to thank the promoters Simon, Andy and Kerry for having me and allowing their show to be my maiden voyage.
Big thanks also to Avi, Daz, Pete, Liam, Davy and Andy just basically for being mates and reassuring me when I was behaving like a little girl, haha. It's onwards and upwards from here...Next Stop, Enfusion in Portugal!
Thanks again everyone and for those who didn't make the event live (shame on you), make sure you subscribe to P4tv because it was AWESOME.
With Respect

Great Post Dougie...
Yep you had a girly day but hey what a job "awesome" as is the norm..
New ring and walkway was 1st class and i would recommend to anybody who has had prolems in the past...( full photoshoot of the set up online later today )
Rings are built for 2 fighters pal ( even as big as me ) not a dance troupe of 20 ladies...
I Lost count of how many fighters were dumped on the canvas yesterday , some from very great heights & all got up safe & sound..
Get feedback off the fighters I bet they loved it ...
Top job matey "I just dont know why you dont do a bit of reffing & judging while your sat there doing nowt "

Ped & Lauren
yeah that ring was quality with the swing in seats, and the tray's so no water gets spilled on the canvas inbetween rounds. nice one

Where do I start? I think that's the best show I've done with help from andy Samo my business partner on the show and Kerry my missus.
I'm going start by saying how great all the fighters/coaches behaved and what ladies and gentlemen they were. Professionalism from the start which made our job easier. I don't regret doing the show and considering it's only my 3rd ever promotion I'm dead proud of myself and the team I have around me. All the fights were so exiting jonno has improved so much and he has such a big future ahead of him, he took so many solid knees and kept going.
Stevie brown such a nice fella a true gentleman gutted he went out so soon but did his club proud.
Shane & Martin and the guys always a pleasure to have you guys over great laugh and really nice fellas, Shane was looking dangerous from the start very fast sharp body kicks nice clinch work.
Anthony ferguson and team Anthony landed some great shots with his hands and put Shane under pressure before Shane stopped him a pleasure having you guys over and thanks alot for bringing the belt back from Thailand.
Rung was strong at 59kg had trained hard and was up for it stopping Loz who is a tough cookie and has never been in a dull fight. Also drinking later with rung is quite entertaining too lol
loz Reilly and Craig great freinds in the sport Liz is a classy fighter and had massive balls to fight his first ever full thai rules fight against peole who have massive records over his amount of fights.
Keith mclachlan has had 6-8 fights with only 1 of them being ftr draws Stevie in the 1st round! Having fought each other 3 times previously with Stevie winning all of them I believe. Didn't see what happened next coming! Left hook to the body finish Keith wins I thought it would be a right war after watching Stevie v Marc deluca on p4tv at Oran mor show. Stevies a tough lad and that must of landed just right to stop him. Keiths family and team have really impressed me and Kerry great people.
Oron deachkalon entertaining to the end what a star classy fighter, great dancer and clinch monster! He was a class act and scored nice and at times went all 'bovy' marching at Keith after taking a knee to the jaw and a eight count, he wanted it so badly and pressured Keith to the end. Keith was goosed and just had nothing left.
Darren Phillips and team excellent as ever there the team use every show and it'll never change it means I get consistency. Thanks guys.
Sordan ambulance (Juan and team) top quality service looking after everyone.
P4tv.com brilliant people to work with gotta support them so we can grow as a sport and people can see our great sport. When people see the final it will blow your mind a great fight.
Hope I've remebered everyone I'm shattered today. Will post again later, thanks again everyone who supported.
Si & Andy
This thankyou needed a post of it's own fightsport mc dougie is the man, he worked so hard saturday night till dead late testing things working on the best look for the show etc etc and I was not dissapointed at all the new ring he's bought to hire out was massive, lights, smoke effects, walkway lighting you name he's got it for a show. And lastly dougie his mcing has got to be the best in the UK now everyone loving it.
Thanks dougie it would of gone so well if you weren't helping us, from the bottom of my heart your a gentleman and great asset to our sport mate x

could write a big long post but would only be repeating what load sof theres have said.................one of the best shows i ve been to in ages, well done simon, andy and everyone else involved!
Thanks to Simon Audley from the Lumpini Gym (Ocean Gym) Southampton and Sinbi Muay Thai, Phuket for an excellent show and tournament on Sunday. All of the tournament competitors were great fighters and great sportsmen. Oron came over here to work at my gym with a fine fighting pedigree behind him. We knew Oron could do it but he was unknown in the UK. His opponents didn't make it easy for him but in the end his spirit and experience enabled him to turn the fight with Keith around, a strong opponent for him. This was Oron's first experience of fighting in the UK and he really enjoyed it. He put on a great show and we are all hoping he will have many opportunities to fight here in the future. Great work Simon, a show enjoyed by all those who came to watch. The comments on Ax Boxing are a testament to how successful the show was.
He has been a great asset to our gym, and everyone who trains with us loves him. He is such a bubbly character and always makes us laugh.
I could not not make the show due to Family commitments, but the feedback i have been getting has been amazing, it appears to have been one of the best shows EVER!! Well Done.
We will miss Oron when he goes back to Thailand at the end of July, but i am sure he will be back.
Thank you to Master Sken for sorting out someone to do the corner for Oron, John Steele kindly made the drive from Stoke to help out.
Our fighters will most certainly be making the trip to Sinbi Gym in Phuket, to train once again with Oron!!
Great show Si. I am just a punter who pays my money to watch my son but the final bout was probably the best final I have seen in any sport or competition.
I must say a well done to my lad Josh Kehoe. He is improving every fight.
By the way can we spell his surname correct... Its Kehoe not Keogh.. ha ha
thanks Bill, Sean & Davey. Oron really made the crowd to love him - when he came into the ring and started to hump the MC then the ref LOL the crowd were in stitches. Then came the ringcraft and the skills very unassuming looking fighter that was fast and technical and one step ahead. Keith dropping him has to be a highlight of Keiths carreer coz he nearly stopped a thai of orons ability. Oron was just relentless tho and went on the warpath.
We got everything right on sunday the one thing we never had was enough bums on seats but hey were still alive and still beaming from ear to ear with the show.
And i'd like to think that if they weren't friends before then the fighters on the show - are now! coz we had a great weekend with them all.
I'm doing another show in a couple of months so if you want to be part of the next installment of Superfly or any other promotions we have planned mail me on info@forthegloryof.co.uk

dougie re: the have two thai fought in the uk? think its happend a couple of times, i think once in wales and at the aston villa leisure centre in brum im sure pimu brought a couple over years ago to fight each other so the crowd could see how thais do it.
a massive thanks too si for having shane and the gym over too be on the show.everything was great and were looked after very well.
well done too keith on the great 8man for him ,when i seen him at the weigh in i thought he was going too die.then went on too have 3 great fights with 1 of the best ive seen in the last fight.
just want say shane has massive heart he got the biggest swelling ive or any1 on the day had everyseen.i was stoping him anyhow as was darren the ref when we just seen it come up.shane wanted too go on but theres no way we could allow that.
paulinthailand,
I remember the one in Wales, I think it was supposed to have been Heem from Rawai Muay Thai versus someone else but I think that fight got pulled.
Didn't know about the other one you mentioned though mate, my mistake.
Still...at least we can agree that Thai v Thai over here is V rare!
Keith s fight with Deakhalon was awesome but previously to that, Deakhalons fight with Rung was epic too. Great Great show!
Duwao fought Sipmearn in wales...both were top 10 at rajadamenrn at the time....echo that Martin, shane was desperate to carry on but if that lump would have popped his brain might have fell out his head lol
1st 4 quarter final fights should be up by tonight I believe and the rest soon, thanks to mel for another great job on the show.
duwao v sipmearn was absolute quality... the amount of kicks and knees in that fight was unreal!!... As for the show congrats si.....cant wait to see it on p4 anyone know when its going to be online ???
duwao came to my gym with Tony and Thailand the week after that fight to doa judging course, and Duwao was still sore from the kicks he ttok, even though he won the fight
I was at that course with duwoa & thailand I remember them doing the demo's and him being a bit fragile LOL thailand had a big coat on too ear warmers and a scarf LOL
(ear warmers & a scarfs a lie) but he neva liked the weather did he?
On p4tv.com tonight I think wainey
the first round fights are on now p4tv.com, look really good, shame the show slipped under the radar a little, i think liverpool on a sunday is a long way for a lot of people, saturday could be better!
brilliant first rounds for the final...
anyone know when the rest of the videos will be on p4tv?
just watched the fights on p4 from the show 'goosepimples' thats all i can say, what a day!
Tipping Josh Kehoe from our gym for good things in the future, he's improving every fight and just watched him again against a very good jamie knowles.
Duwao and Sipmern kicked pads before that fight too in some pad demo Duwao did about 800 kicks and Supmern 2000 knees on pads as Thailand was killing them then they had to fight. Duwao was always a fag about his legs, the guy who fought Alix James on that show often fought on midday show then hiked off to some scandal show for a fight again in the evening or two, he had a 5round war main event at Raja with Rampart Sor Khamsingh, he came back to gym and was training next day, remember poking his shins and hitting them they wernt even marked, ridiculous.
watched the fights again. awesome show si
thot i had done enough to win.
still happy tho, makes me smile whenever i think about the whole weekend.
thanx again si
Just watched these fights
Wow AMAZING show - totally gutted I didnt go.
Well done Si & Team and thank you P4TV
just watched em as well - i have NEVER seen a lump on someone's head like thhat in my life!!!
SCARY that. I thought it wasnt gonna stop growing myself there for a min. SPLAT! ;-)
I bet Ref was a tad concerned. Hes always gonna get criticised for jumping in too quick - but that was spot on.
Just demonstrates, I guess, that any well matched fight could easily go pearshaped.
Thank God he is OK.
Amazing show Simon, well done..
so sorry we couldnt make it up. must be one of the best shows this year easy...
Watched all the fights on P4tv and they were fantastic..really top class!
gutted for keith, how amazing did he do to put those performances in against those world class opponents and to be honest watching the final a couple of times unlucky not to get the decision!! he only lost because of the low blow.. unfair really but shows the experience and cunning of the thai..
unlucky Keith, in my eyes you were the real winner of that tournament mate.
John Jarvis
Heart of a lion shane , how was he still stood up
watched the show on p4tv all i can say is WOW looked a brillent show top fights good production thai vs thai was mint and the final was all action
jonno took some scandal knees and kept coming well done jonno
the dancing by oron made me pmsl and rung joining in was so funny
well done si top show defo be at the next one
just watched most of it again myself, really great fights and such an entertaining tournament. One of best shows ever.Shame on the lack of support, you wouldn't believe how many Gyms in Liverpool/merseyside offer Muay Thai on their schedules. No ones seems to have love for the game!
After rewatching the final does anyone else agree that Oron was quite lucky to get that draw decision?
lot say low blow but unless intentional it is not a foul in muay thai) and is really strong scoring well in that round 2, keith makes a come back but oron scoring well and strong... draw fair result imo ...
half my post must have gone somewhere lol
what i said was although keith managed to give oron 2 8 counts in round 2, after the 2nd count oron came on really strong finishing the round strong which on score cards would have cancelled out the one count, meaning the count in the 3rd round that oron gave keith made it all level score wise... both gave there all i think oron was slightly stronger in the last but both scored well.. draw a fair result i think... ;)
Genuine question - I thought if you got 8 count you automatically lost the round point wise( and therefore if you got 2 8 counts...!!), Iv never heard of the possibility that some one can come back so strong from an 8 count within the same round, so strong as to negate or cancel out the 8 count that they had receieved? Is this actually possible?
Matt its possible to come back so strong as to turn the 8 count into a 9/10 10/10 depends on how strong he was before the 8 count and after.
exact as david mc said... knockdown or standing 8 count = a 10-8 round, 2 counts =10-7 however a fighter dominationg or winning the round before hand and then coming on strong and winning after the knockdown can bring it back making it 10-9 for normal knockdown or as in this case back to a 10-8.....
I was gonna ask how 2x 8-counts was scored. Thanks Wainey (i.e. 10-7).
Im not doubting any ones knowledge and scoring here, but would be good to see what Tony Meyers can add.
cheers
I'm not experienced at judging - only done a couple kids shows and some shadow judging but I scored it the first time i watched it after reading the comments on here and I got it at 10:10, 10:9 and 9:10. The draw seemed fair to me. Oron finished strong in the 2nd despite the 2 counts and the 3rd was clearly his round. I think if Keith had managed to keep Oron at bay for a bit longer in the 2nd he could've got the decision - but that's useless conjecturing now.
Thanks for all that guys.I never knew that.Thats whats good about this forum you can ask genuine questions and knowledgable people will give you educated answers. Thanks again!!
