Antuan's younger brother Leo will also be fighting under amateur/junior rules.

Not upset Hawkman, it was pretty funny :P However we have at least 3 thais on the show, that photo only has one.

We answered the above question on the MMA thread, but to reiterate things a little.

The show was originally a GBH show, when approached we agreed to add the possibility of Thai fights as an addition to enhance the show, not to replace the show. This is why I posted the full line up on the other thread and not here, as any mention of the show other than "Thai fighters" gets the thread moved and I have to start all over again.

When we received the list of fighters available we publicised it, on Ax, by email, by phone and in person.

The fights you see on the bill now are those that stood up and responded.

It will start on time if you let him do his job ! and tell all instructors to listen to him and more importantly "work with him"!

nice work robinson against a heavier and much more experienced opponent...me and liam have discussed this before so he knows i arnt havin a dig at him cos hes a mate but can golden belt pls clarify why they got a fighter who lost his last few fights at british level fighting an unknown fighter for a world title?? how can golden belt expect to be taken seriosly by doing this???

am just out on the lash with Liam R, and can tell you that it was a great fight and a draw was a fair result. it was just a shame that antuan( be he french, or thai or whatever!!!!) decided to spit his dummy out at the end of the fight when the result was announced. no amount of press ups between rounds or showboating could disguise the disrespect that was shown to legends of the sport such as referee Ronnie Green. Think that there needs to be a degree of life lessons instilled into Antuan as a matter of urgency, and a nurturing of what is a prestigious talent, in order for him to progress much further in this sport. and by the way... Nathan from Touchgloves, is a lightweight when it comes to drinkin, but he does like to get his tackle out a fair bit!!! all the blokes are frothin at the mouth here.... not me included btw!!!! god bless...U.K

well done for liam in his performance, it was quite hard to watch it as a fight as i was judging it, but i was pleased a nd proud of liam, he came out very strong in the 5th round, he did get cut but his work and how he attacked antuan with kicks and elbows some nice knees just put antuan off and outscored him.... wa well pleased to watch and ithink the crowd enjoyed it too all getting behind liam.. great show and a pleasure to judge on

Full results of the Thai boxing fights please ????

A big thank you to all those involved in organising the show. For me the sport is about forging friendships, developing skills and promoting the sport professionally. It is always was nice to see some old friends and make some new ones. Everyone was very friendly and supportive and seemed very keen on promoting the sport. I felt sorry for the promoters who, despite very good intentions, had a number of pull outs with people letting them down but still persisted and put on a show the crowd seemed to enjoy. The officials did a very good job and the organisers should be commended on using officials who understand the sport.

I thought Liam and Antuan’s fight was a good one. Liam gave away lots of experience but wasn’t outclassed at all. I was proud of Liam’s performance, particularly his fifth round after Antuan has put him under lots of pressure in the 4th. The first two rounds were close but on the night I thought Antuan was ahead going into the 3rd. Liam had a good 3rd and a good 5th round. If Liam had attacked in the 4th like he did in the 5th I think he would have won the fight. I will have to look at the fight on video to make an objective view of the result as it is difficult to do that from the corner. However, whatever conclusion I come to, I was pleased with Liam’s performance and hope he can build on this and achieve his true potential as a fighter. Both boxers showed some excellent Muay Thai skills. I was really impressed with some of Antuan skills but I felt he spoiled his overall performance by not really trying hard to make the weight and at his behaviour at the end of the fight. I personally think he is young and his emotions got the better of him at the end. He did apologise to me afterwards....I don’t know if he apologised to Liam and Ronnie. I hope he did as I don’t think he is a bad lad at all really and will mature.

I really feel that with some support and direction from the wider MuayThai community that there is a real willingness from Alby and all those supporting this organisation to promote quality Muay Thai.

good post tony, i didn't see antuan spit his dummy out afterwards but i wasn't very impressed with his antics during the fight the lads got skills so just get on with it, don't know liam well enough to be bias so this is a neutral comment really, liam showed good fighting spirit in the last rounds and like wainey said scored well. Antuan to me could of stepped it up and took the fight but preceded to showboat and tap his chin when liam caught him with a right hand that looked like it shook him for a minute in the 5th. Think the draw was correct, the work atuan did in the early rounds was cancelled out by the liams efforts in the later rounds. On an up note - the fights that Alby & team managed to salvage from people letting them down were great and the venue very nice. Alby does want muay thai to go forward in the country and is a very nice bloke to boot!

I thought the promoters did a really good job of putting on a decent show after being messed about and let down - I agree with Tony that there is definately a will to push quality Muay thai from them.

Liam should be proud of his performance - he gave away weight and experience and to be honest he was the more professional in my opion - not taking anything away from Antuan as a fighter but as a professional sportsman he's a joke!! didn't make the weight, bad attitude after the desicion, and show boating when frankly he should have been getting on with fighting.
I had antuan as winning due to showing more effect/success with his teeps and clinch work - although like Tony said he by no means outclassed liam, in fact if Liam had pushed forward more he would have won.
At the end of the day Antuan lost a world title because he couldn't make the weight.
I gave the last round to Antuan due to the cut at the end , but I had Liam ahead in that round up untill halfway through the round when he seemed to step off the gas a little - I want to watch the fight again to check my scoring and am open to advice.
Good show over all - ran well, and well done to Alby on attaining your 7th dan

Excerlent event really enjoyed being there even if it was a working role :) was a pleasure to meet some of the guys involved: Sandy Holt, the guys from p4 and Cris Janson Piers especialy. The events atmosphere was brilliant really electrical cant wait for the next one when will that be Jo?:D

The weight did make a slight difference to balance in the clinch etc but those who were there saw what happened the day before and after the fight ive nothing negative to say about any party theres already way too much negativity in the sport at the moment. Thanks to Antuan and his Dad for the fight it was a good close fight. Goldenbelt were very helpful and looked after us all everything was spot on massive thanks to Tony and my corner team. I was never hurt or tired in the fight and tried to step it up late on. I know 1 and 2 were close not much happenin thought i had a decent 3rd but lost the 4th however 5th i think i was the only one scoring all barr 1 elbow. Antuan is due to fight at 66kg in malaysia soon so lots of sweating for him there as he's a growing lad! He is also due to fight at lumpinee in a few weeks, im glad i got in there with a full time fighter and pushed him and was never outclassed. Antuans team thanked me for a good learning fight for Antuan as i fought the style he will be fighting in Thailand not just brawling at him like he has had in other countries before so im glad we both took something from it, i have a more permanent souvenir in the way or a scar on my forehead he has a more temporary black eye. Great to meet Knuckles crew who were a wicked lot like their booze and kept us up till 4:30am with allsorts of madness if anyone out there hasnt seen nathan kitchen wearing nothing but a sausage roll and scotch egg on his head trust me its very very wrong! Cheers for the laughs afterwards u nutters.
Mark Jo Alby were all fantastic and have some big things planned in the future for shows also bringing Tony Myers in on the muay thai scoring side of things.

Apologies to Nathan for not having a talk with him as my students were constantly asking me questions hopefully see you soon to have a sit down and chat bud your fighter was very strong and fought well against my very tall student Steph Knight. Big respect goes to Mark Wilson for all his hard work that went into organising such a big show bringing fighters from a far and for the passion he has for Muay Thai always will be at your side bud if you need help excellent show. Gold Medal for Chad and now looking forward to getting back to preferred F/C style. Busy weekend for Chad who boxed in Bradford on Friday at an ABA show and won then got treated like a king on Saturday Night in Liverpool then raced down the M6 to weigh in just under 55kg to take Gold Medal.

well done to all the guys for putting a great show on, like everyone else who seen just how hard these guys worked to bring such quality fights who were all well matched.

Liam put in a great performance against antuan, great fight to watch! He trained hard for this fight and it showed well. Antuan seems to like to play around in fights dont think his antics in the ring were like by the reaction he recieved from the crowd. He is still young but in my personal opinion find he was just a little to over the top moaning about low blows, dropping his guard, running around the ring with his hand in the air during rounds and anything etc. Refusing to make a weight which you agreed is unbelievable and disrespectful to the guys kind enough to pay for him to fly over, very unprofessional.
It was a nice even fight both having success with nice tidy techniques shame it was ruined by the reaction of antuan at the end but hey guess thats how some people are. I think liam looked stronger than antuan when they traded caught antuan with a bomb of a right hand which wobbled him, nice elbows and well timed body kicks. Any ways great fight well done liam proud of you mate.

the other judges had a draw and win to Antuan, in all honesty and i think the other three judges would agree it was a fair decision at the end, i didnt agree with Antuans behavior at the end very unprofessional and you dont get extra points for showboating in the UK.
i felt rather sorry for Alby Bimpson he has tried to boost the thaiboxing scene
in the UK by trying to promote a big show, bringing the thais over etc, and he keeps getting thrown into the firing line god knows why, hes a real gent and will go out of his way for anyone, hes not afraid to put his hand in his pocket i can gaurantee everyone who was at that show was looked after, the food for the vips was A1 there was also food laid on at a hotel after the show for all officials trainers and fighters, i know last year there were a few portugese kids who were let down on a fight so he bought them over to the UK for a free holiday and even give the kids a little sparring session at a gym and presented them with trophys afterwards so they could show there local press when they went home all paid for by Alby.
The show wasnt the huge success Alby wanted, he was let down with the GBH fights last week, he was let down by the french and was also let down by the thais, Antuans team were supposed to be bringing a full thai over with them and they didnt bother because they THOUGHT he wasnt matched when he was, then there were the weight problems with antuan the day before, Antuan was overweight on the scales and his father/trainer/promoter asked alby to forget he had seen the weight differance and in return would promote the goldenbelt in thailand and make it big, Alby said no off coarse and Antuans said they would ruin the goldenbelt in thailand and they would never get fighters in the UK ever again, and when they said Liam would fight him anyway for a none title they said they would have to think about it, Antuan in my eyes you are a disgrace to thaiboxing and thailand Alby has offered you nothing but the hand of freindship and this is how you repay him i think you and your family owe Alby and the goldenbelt an appoligy, all they have done is defend you in the past and this is how you repay them.
Alby im sorry mate you asked me to keep it to myself but fuck em i havnt got time for people like that and all promoters and trainers need to be made aware of these shamefull tactics.
Alby also made sure that all the judges had a good understanding of thaiboxing and were handpicked, all independent, from now on i am going support Alby to the best of my ability he is an unsung heroe and has UK thaiboxings best interests at heart he will be the first to hold his hands up and say hes made mistakes in the past but havnt we all.
Alby my support is there and i hope people can find it in there heart to give this guy a chance just like i have.

They do not add the points together like that here you just get one judge one way one another way and a draw makes it 1,1,1 i am sorry if you feel you were cheated, if you say i lose by 2 points to Antuan then i am still happy as i am not full time fighter i dont have a lot of time to train or run and i gained a lot of experience and hope that Antuan can take more from this fight than he did with dutch opponents i have had about 20 fights but i wanted to show i can get in there with someone who is young and hungry and training full time and good muaythai style not punch punch and lowkick. I did already say to the promoters if i won i would give them back the title at 69.5kg as my last fight 65.9kg i cannot fight more than 67maximum really its too big for me. It was a nice cut at the end of the fight and you are right in rounds 1 and 2 it was too hard to clinch with antuan as he knew a lot of moves and the ring canvas was rather slippy coupled with the extra weight i did not want to clinch with him at all in rounds 3 4 5! We originally set out to put on a great show, and we feel we did achieve this, despite what felt like obvious attempts to destroy the show by many different sides.

We prepaid a large amount of money to the Thailand party, and had an agreed amount of fighters. We hold our hands up and admit that we had to cancel one of the fighters (Lerdsila) as we could not match him and stay within the strict budget we had.

We were shocked and disappointed when the party was collected in Liverpool minus one fighter (Parinya), which we had paid for, and were not informed that he would not be coming to fight.

This then let down Parinya's opponent, which we deeply regret. We formally apologise to Aliksandr Kutsen from Belarus, and to Mr Paul Sutton who went out of his way to help us match this fight.

The World Title fight was arranged between Liam and Antuan under the weight category of 74.5-67kg.

On the evening of the weigh in (Friday) Liam came in bang on weight. Antuan came in at 69.9kg.

We informed Antuan and his father Serge, that to fight for this World Title that he was allowed one hour to make the weight. This is standard practise.

One sweat suit and skipping later, Antuan weighed in at 69kg and sat down.

Obviously this did not then meet the weight category required.

This is when the fun started.

With Antuan sat down and refusing to lose any more weight, his father began to shout and scream uncontrollably at times, with quotes such as "This does not happen in Thailand, we would be allowed to fight" and "give a bottle of water to Liam and reweigh him, and then we can fight".

We tried to explain the strictness of weight categories, and that this had been organised many months ago, and that to fight for the World Title Antuan must make the weight, no discrepencies.

We were then threatened by Serge, that if we did not allow the fight as the weights stood, he would destroy the name of the Golden Belt in Thailand, and that we would never be allowed to bring a fighter from Thailand again, and Golden Belt would be disrespected in Thailand.

At this point we must point out that Liam Robinson and his trainer Tony Myers were complete gentlemen and did what they could to make this fight happen.

Inbetween negotiations to and from the weigh in room and the lounge, myself and Mark Wilson were approached by Serge, who said "Can you not just say that you have seen Antuan make the weight, and this will make the fight, as this is how it is done in Thailand".

He also approached someone he believed to be one of the judges and said that if Antuan was to win, he would make Golden Belt big in Thailand as he would go back and publicise the Golden Belt, having the belt to do that with.

This is a total disgrace to Thai Boxing and to Thailand.

You can imagine the responses he was met with, as I would rather pack in everything than go against what I stand for and have worked so hard to achieve.

After many hours, it was agreed that Liam would win the Title by default, but that if Antuan could lose more weight, Liam would fight him (giving away both weight and experience). Its a simple as this Liam R fought well against you antuan, I personally like the look on his face real grit and determination in round 3 & 5 showed he really wanted it!

On a side note - Medical Suspension of 30 days for Joss Gilbert following his KO, if all other Associations could recognise this please, for the safety of the fighter (Joss) and the sport as a whole.

Regarding the fight between Liam and Antuan, we really cannot say more than what Liam has said, as all the rules were adhered to as explained during the rules meeting.

The fight was a draw, no friendly decisions or manipulation, and all judges were independent of the Golden Belt. These were people who we trust to be fully competent and able to judge under Full Thai Rules.

Firstly we want to thank all the people who made the show happen, the feedback from everyone has been 100%, and we have table bookings for the next show already.

We apologise for the lack of GBH on this occasion, due to unforseen circumstances such as injuries and so and so forth. We would like to make a special mention to thank Paul Beaty who went out of his way and tried up until late Friday night to make one of the GBH fights happen.

Thank you to Dylan Scally who is our new representative for Ireland, who flew all the way here prepared to fight against Shaun Jones. Unfortunately Shaun was pulled out of the show at very late notice by Karl Kilbride, and no reasons were given. This is a matter we will be addressing.

Antuan, I understand you felt you had won, many fighters often do after a fight; some with justification and some with less justification. I also know you were emotional at the time and are still a young man. I appreciate the apology that you gave to Liam and me. However, I feel a formal and public apology to the promoters would be warranted. They spent a lot of money on bringing you over to fight and treated you very well indeed. I didn't witness the incidents at the weigh-in detailed above by Alby, but have no reason to doubt what he says is 100% true, I felt he was very professional and generous throughout(as was Ronnie, Mark and everyone else involved). Everyone wants to win. However, I am saddened that someone with your skills and profile in the sport (representing a great Thai gym in a foreign country) wishes to win so badly that they try to do so at any cost; fair or foul.

On a personal level, I will look at the fight on video to see what I think the decision should be. However, the decision is the decision, and can't be changed by complaining nor should any decision ever be. Since you were treated very fairly by the promoters and you have behaved less than professionally, perhaps you should reflect on the way you conducted yourself towards them and avoid doing the same thing to other promoters in future. People will appreciate you and your skills far more if you do. I personally have brought a number of Thai champions (Lumpinee, Rajadamnern and Omnoi) to the UK to fight over the years and all have conducted themselves very respectfully and been very humble outside of the ring. All made weight without complaint even if they had to skip or sauna. Some have even had what I considered to be bad decisions given against them but all accepted the decisions in a dignified way. Everyone who watched those champions looked up to them for the way they conducted themselves. They were inspired both to train to try to achieve their skill level and also to develop their attitude.

On a technical point, whatever decision the judges come to in terms of individual points scores, as Liam correctly pointed out above, all the judges points are not added up together to come to a decision either here or in Thailand. A majority system is used in Muay Thai which ensures no biased or corrupt single judge can influence an overall decision. Similarly in Thailand boxers are required to make the weight for titles fights and this is followed strictly at both main stadiums (and TV stadiums in my experience). Certainly making weight in some bet fights in the provinces isn't such of an issue where fights can be agreed without any weigh-ins at all.

Good luck in your future fights, but please be aware how you conduct yourself before and after the fight reflects on you as well as your actual performance in the ring. For example, I remember JWP losing to Steve Wakeling in a WBC world title fight a few years ago, yet was held in high regard as a fighter and a man for his attitude afterwards.

you win on points majority unanimous or split but the three totals of the judges are never added together.
This stops one judge being able to infuence the outcome of a fight as it makes no difference if he gives it 50-35 or 50-49 its still a win for whichever corner.

The fight goes to the corner with the most judges seing that boxer as the winner either 3-0 2-1 or 2-0 and a draw etc or in this case 1-1 and a draw.

any fight going the distance is a points win or a draw

So no need for points simply red or blue?

Hi Paul - to answer - we paid flights, purses and hotel, all upfront. We're also chasing the part of the purse that is owed to Liam R as a forfeit over the weight.

When we did try to retrieve anything we were hit with a barrage of abuse, but we've not given up.

AndyBC: to be honest it wasnt the show Alby wanted to give to the UK, and it definitley wasnt the show of the year, that vote would go to your show the other week (dont get to bigheaded lol), but i went to the GB office the other week and i have to admit i was quite impressed, when the goldenbelt first started i thought here we go another sanctioning body trying to make a buck, but in all fairness its not like that at all a lot of the young people dont realise Alby was a fighter back in the day and he knows what fighters want and hes out to give them a future and to showcase this wonderful sport of ours to try and incourage the kids of today to stop shooting and stabbing one and other and try and take up the sport, Albys words If the gyms and the trainers of the UK cant work together then i cant see our sport moving forward, and hes right to be honest i cant see thaiboxing in the UK getting cornered by one governing body, but the one thing we could try do is support each other 100%.
Alby just wanted to give the UK some exciting fights and it didnt happen and yes Antuaan is a 24 carrot knobend and so is his muppet dad, but there was a good old inter kickboxing battle at the end a seven rounder and then Sandy got really strict and lost his temper with the audiance at the end but he stamped his authority and the Liverpool crowd came to a standstill

After recent movement forward in the sport, i.e. P4TV, Contender uk show, Liam v Saenchai announced and many other bits of good news stories on AX, we now get to read about, if what has been portrayed is true DISGUSTING behaviour. If I was a promoter I would find it unacceptable a novice fighter turning up no where near weight, never mind a full time professional, and if I was a instructor, would ask myself if I was in the right job letting fighters turn up overweight when the weight has been agreed previously. The fall out from this is, a promoter left out of pocket, and not only that but by the sounds of it Liam R out of pocket! I dont know any of the people in this thread and wasnt at the show, but as an ambassador of France/Thailand Antuan you have sadly treated the history, heritage, of the sport badly. I appreciate you may have been caught up in the passion, adrenalin of the fight but dont forget your a sportsman not a showman. You have obvious talent (i have checked out some of your fights on youtube) and have as bright a future as you want it to be, I hope lessons are learned from this unfortunate scenario.

Yeah Beaty mate i no Alby didnt want any of this to happen and to be honest when i found out Lerdsilla was gunna be coming to fight on it i was impressed,and excited cause he is amazing. just a shame it all went a bit tits up as they say. This isnt a dig at Robo (so liam please dont take it that way) but he should never have been fighting for a world title no matter what santctioning body it is, neither should Antuan, but worse things have happened so thats fine, things like that just annoy me when i have been fighting for 9 years now and have worked my way to my world title the proper way, english,british,commonwealth,european,intercontinental and then the big one. Not to mention fighting all the Thai's and other Foriegn fighters i have. I no they are trying to help in bringing MuayThai forward but having that happen is not the way to do it. I feel sorry for the way things have worked out for the show (and fans) but hope lessons have been learned and that the next one will be a huge success.

Thats sound Andy i know what ur saying i think majority of people expected antuan to win easy due to difference in fight records etc i know theres a different critera for some associations regarding who can fight for what titles u know like 10 fights for an area title etc etc the one i like is the WBC WMC etc as you know people have had to go through various elimination bouts before getting a shot like Liam H did. Although i havent any major titles going into this one i did have several british, a european etc not top association ones though. I was just happy someone was willing to pay for a full time fighter opponent to come over to fight me as you know only the top few like yourself, liam, etc get international bouts. Regarding my fights leading up to this one the only real loss i suffered was to Thrasher who weighed in on weight and smacked my nose onto the floor then stole half my ribcage, barr that all recent fights had been wins or odd pts decision and 1 loss giving weight to rank 6 WMC thai at queens birthday. Although it didnt go as planned i know Alby has made massive steps forward with the contacts and money he is devoting to the sport im sure the next one will have a fuller card, it was however fairly busy at the show and a decent atmosphere.

The planned Thai contingent,unfortunately i couldnt make the show due to my daughters having chicken pox.I would like to commend the work Alby,Ronnie,Mark and Ste have done to promote quality muaythai in the UK.These guys use thier own hard earned cash,to finance the opportunities of others in a new concept.Liverpool Kickboxing and Muaythai Academy have always supported and will continue to support the Goldenbelt and associations,individuals who promote quality muaythai and Martial arts.This is not a political agenda.FROM LITTLE ACORNS GROW GREAT OAK TREES,keep up the good work and well done to all the fighters who took part!We cant wait for the 2009 Calender of events,look at how the Goldenbelt has grew since its conception! A massive achievement by all accounts! Bringing the biggest names in muaythai and kickboxing working together for the growth of the sport and martial arts.The show was a great success by the feedback,i have read and the people i have spoken to dont let the behaviour or the minority spoil it for the majority. AndyBC: i totally agree with you, you have to earn the oppertunity to fight for a title, how the fighters come to fight for a title i dont really know it wasnt my show and i dont really know much about Antuaan for me to comment, i do know one thing though there are to many differant sets of rules for Muay thai in this country and its all wrong, its like saying if you play football in germany and get fouled in the peno box its not a peno, theres got to be one way only because even im starting to get confused at the moment so god knows how a beginner to the sport feels, and its also making trainers look stupid, i will give you a good example, one of my senior students is only small in height and for six weeks i taught her a reverse elboe to the body that was gonna be the main honey shot of her fight, we get to the venue i thought best check if this is ok with the ref, referee replys although many referees allow it i dont i was gobsmacked, i thought the refs job was to make sure fighters and trainers stick to the rules not make them up as they go along, i went back to my student and said im sorry but there not gonna allow that reverse elboe, she replies well why have you had me practicing it for the last six weeks then, i was stuck for an answer, also i think headgaurds and body protecters for juniors should be optional, if promoters are worried about insurance then they could always get the trainers to sign a form saying it was there own choice not to allow there student to wear the equipment, i know for a fact that the ABAs are looking into the issue of ruling out headgaurds at the moment due to certain statements that they could be more dangerois than safe, and Andy well done on your title you more than anyone deserves a shot and you got yours and earnt every single grain of it, fighters like yourself Liam H, Dale White, Peter Crooke, and many more are a credit to our great country and an icon to the younger generations and up and coming fighters, i havnt mentioned all the names but you know who you all are, i hope you UK fighters hold your titles for many years chok-dee to you all.

I've sat back and watched the comments coming in and fully expected the critisism of the show. after all, that is what we are all good at.
I was there and chatted with both Alby and Ronnie beforehand, as well as listening to all the stories of the tantrums and gamesplaying at the weigh in.
Most people would have backed out at that point, but they were adamant that the show would go on despite all the set backs.
If the sport of Muay Thai is to be taken to the next level, then now is the time to come together and not take cheap shots at someone who has tried to do their utmost to promote our sport.
If someone turns up for any type of title contest in any sport, being unfit or not making the agreed weight for the said contest, it is totally unprofessional and disrespectful to both their opponent as well as the promoter who has put their money forward for the event to take place.
I thought that Liam and his camp were very accomodating in agreeing to the fight despite the weight difference, and to be honest, a draw was a very fair result. There was a lot of showboating from the "Antuan camp" but not a lot of anything else.
That was not the only fight of the night mind you. 2 of our finest youngsters were due to fight for european titles, and both their opponents came in severely overweight.
However, on a more positive note, there were several well matched fights that saved the day, and to see someone as humble and well respected as Alby is, receive his well deserved grading in the ring, certainly made up for the well publicised let downs.
There is so much more that could be said, and probably will be, but for now let's try and take some positives out of this and try and work together to make this fantastic sport move forward.
Thanks to Sandy for his top job of MC, and thanks to Nathan for showing me how many exciting things you can do with a red shoe when you're bladdered!!!!

Guys, running a show is hard enough - trying to create a new concept is even harder, to run an office doing so full time - is costly and extremely hard work and can only be good for the sport abd should be fully supported and used by all as a foundation.

But unfortunatley to hard work and good intentions are usually affected by many variables... and it is up to those surrounding this and participating in this to act in the same professional manner and have the same high expectations.

As in any workplace it is those that do the work and make the decisions who are open to crtique - as you cannot critique somebody who does nothing.

So problems on any show (as all promotors will tell you) are steep learning curves and all those around should maybe realise it is more helpful to make recommendations as opposed to critique?? Just my opinion..

Sometimes opportunities come from unseen places, and sometimes it is not always the biggest star who deserves them.

Liam put his head on the chopping block and came forward that he would fight one of the thais.

We did our homework, we checked out who he was, what he had done and what type of fighter he was. The opportunity to fight Antuan and for a World Title wasn't something that just seemed like a good idea.

However saying that, by his conduct before and after the fight, and by the way he fought, Liam has more than proved himself to us as an association. You cannot win every fight, but that does not mean that you are not a World class fighter.

Liam has a great talent, and he showed that on Saturday. He matched a fighter that was more experienced than himself, and heavier, punch for punch, elbow for elbow, and he came out of it with his head held high.

Respect to you Liam, you deserved the chance you got, and you did England proud. You are a genuine guy and a true sportsman to boot.

mate of mine trained with yodsenklai at fairtex, he said he dosent fight for any less than 10Gs...

Yod carries weight hes still ranked at 66.8 in thai stadium, if he trained properly and sweat he would make the weight if in thailand but not that sort of money available for him there

thats what i said to my mate, i thought thailand was a poor country he shrugged and said thats what he told me.

I doubt vey much he could make that weight now even with proper training and sweating it out. He don't make that in Thailand, but believe that is the asking price for fights abroad and he seems to get a few

I hope when he (you) watch it back you'll understand. In my opinion, I agree with Paul Beaty's scoring. I think a score was a 'good' result.
Antuan, if ever an old saying was applicable then 'Don't leave it to the judges" springs to mind.

Crippler thankyou, i can only write down what i see and if my vision is obscured then there are always two other judges who might see it better from there angle, theres nothing more annoying than a fighter or trainer spitting there dummy out because they thought they had won, at the end of the day its not your opponents fault that the scores went his way or draw etc thats down to the referee and judges and providing your dealing with a reputable organision you can QUIETLEY AND POLITLEY ask for a second opinion, which would result in the dvd footage being forwarded to a top independent referee/judge for there opinion and if that independent agrees with you then it would be awarded to your fighter end of.

Yeah good video but I'd just like to clarify Joe Tomlin is no where near 40kgs as the commentator said he's 33kg and was within the weight of the european belt. Nicholas I think weighed in 32.5kg. I dont think Joe will be 40kg at the age of 15 the way he puts weight on..lol.

Thanks to Mel & Vinny for posting onto P4TV! Liam - well done, mate. Really turned it up in R5 and think over the 5 rounds you took it. After 2 Antuan ahead by just a very narrow margin but over 3-5 you finished the stronger, landed the smart shots and felt the same as beaty 49-48 to you.

Yeah, who were the commentators?? Some very strange comments going on, especially about Liams guard!! And they did get very excited about a teep that Antuan landed in the 1st round!

I personally think Liam R just took the fight, Having said that the golden belt lay themselves open to claims of bias from the disgruntled party by allowing a stablemate and previous opponent to act as judges,Not saying the decision was wrong as i wasnt judging and its just my opinion but you guys should cover all the angles.

Sandyman if your giving draw with him edging round 2 and me winning round 5 big it should not be a draw really - im not questioning the outcome of the fight just helping regarding judging criteria in general if you had someone edging round 2 and someone winning round 5 big you would be right to adjust the scores slightly and although not a 10-8 round you would be right to mark as such to obtain the correct winner of the bout. Paul Beatys scorecard matches a lot of other opinions have had on the fight, i cant score my own bout though as im 2 harsh on myself!

Must admit, I am not a fan of all that show boating on any level. Antuan clearly has some skill, what is the need for all the showboating. You would have thought he'd be humble as he'd already made a tit of himself with disrespecting his opponent and promoters by not being on weight.

I thought you looked good in their Liam, composed, and didn't get involved in all the show boating. I think if you were to fight him again, you would smash him up. Can't help but feel you gave him a little too much respect!

Lets hope no other promoter has him over here again, total disgrace.

if you see his 100 odd bouts on youtube etc he caused a lot of nasty cuts with that lead elbow but by round 3 realised he wernt gonna catch me with it so picked it up but still had to be a little cautious that was my 6th A Class bout to his 100odd but managed to use the elbows not 2 bad thanks Lee+Splinter. Cant wait to see the Worlds best Liam fighting in 3 months in Croydon :-D
