Topic:Main Event 31.03.12 - Fight Card
Dan G
Posted: 2011-12-08 18:56:43
The Main Event - set to take British thaiboxing to new levels.

Today we start to release the fight card for The Main Event a new co-operation between Daz Morris, Dan Green & Darren Phillips (3D Promotions) in association with Peel Holdings.

Sponsored by fightshop.com, The Main Event will feature one of the most exciting cards in the history of British combat sports. The domestic fights you thought you'd never see, exciting knockout merchants going toe to toe and some intriguing technical technical contests - we plan to give every fan what they want to see!

We initially have two of the headliners to release today and the rest of the whole of the card will be released over the next fortnight. To add to the excitement both of these fights are WINNER TAKES ALL contests with several titles on the line to determine who is the true champion.

WMC MAD World Title, ISKA World Title, WKA World Title - 5 x 3 mins Full Thai Rules
Tim TNT Thomas (Nak Soo) vs Andy Thrasher (Manchester)
The two stand out welterweights of 2011 go head to head to decide who is truly British number one. Both fighters have had a phenomenal year, fighting nearly every month. Thomas taking the ISKA world title in Cambodia in the champion's hometown and Thrasher winning the Toyota Tournament, one of the biggest tournaments in Thailand and sparking out the Lumpinee ranked number one in the final. In total Thrasher had 9 fights with 7 wins 2 losses in 2011 (with one fight still to happen), Thomas had 9 fights with 7 wins 1 draw and 1 loss, also winning a title in Guernsey.

These two met before four years ago with Thomas then winning by stoppage. Will it go the distance this time?
Both fighers can bang, both think they're the best. At the end of the fight there can only be one winner..

WMC MAD World Title, WMC European Title - 5 x 3 mins Full Thai Rules
Micheal Wakeling (Scorpions) vs Craig Jose (The Faktory)
Jose does for us one of the most admirable things a fighter can do in the sport - putting the WMC MAD World title on the line for the third time in 12 months against Michael Wakeling. The South's most exciting fighter, WMC European and WMC MAD Intercontinental Champion Michael Wakeling, made a big splash last time he fought in Manchester against Chris Shaw and this time will challenge for his first world title on British soil. Both fighters had a great 2011 - Jose beating Kevin Harper and Daitan Jackson, Wakeling in his last fight beating the well reknowned Egon Racz amongest the mainy highlights for the two.

The rest of the card looks set to feature the best of all the weight classes and some great upcoming young talent including Dean James, Rick Barnhill, Andrew Tate, Daitan Jackson, Paul Kaporwicz, Stuart Kemp, Joe McGovan, Mike Clarke, Paige Farrington, Chad Sugden, Sam Omogobe, Thomas McCormick, Solomon Wickstead and others.

Tickets go on sale today and VIP tables are already 50% gone with pre-orders. Get in touch early about club bulk discounts as for sure this will be a sell out.

OMG, Thrasher vs TNT is a fight I've wanted to see for years, and for 3 forld titles! Thrasher is one of my favourite fighters to watch in the UK, love his style and his power is there for all to see! Tim is also an exceptional fighter, can't wait for this!
Would love to see Joe McGovern vs Andrew Tate under K1 rules! Both kickboxers making their mark in the K1 scene and also Chad Sugden who is going from strength to strength beating FTR British Champion Salah abdelsalem!
This really will be the main event!

Oops, forgot to mention Wakeling vs Jose! Only seen Wakeling fight once in his war against Chris Shaw, for me, fight of 2011! Craig has had a great year beaying Meikle, Jackson and Harper. Would love to see the winner fight the likes of Pique, Dzhabar etc. 72.5 for me is the most exciting division in UK muay thai!

Michael Wakling v Chris Shaw was probably the best fight i photographed in 2011, better than UFC 138. Wakling has ferocious and never stopped comming forward throwing everything, cant wait to see that in action again.

Wow !! Those 2 fights alone would be a 'sell-out' on any card. Really chuffed about the 'Andy and Tim show'. Thrasher is my favourite all-time MT UK fighter. He reminds me so much of Nigel Benn in his approach and fighting style. My money's on Andy winning this tough bout.

Great job, Daz, Daz and Dan. Some brilliant matches as usual!

Andy V Tim is absolutely mouthwatering... I'll post a couple of pics from the first match, later.

Adam, I absolutely agree with you, Wakeling V Shaw was definitely the best fight I shot all year.

Looking forward to another great show!

I was under the impression that the MAD title is not defendable, its more of a presentation belt with the procceeds going to drugs charities in Thailand, something similar to a show belt,

Im sure The WMC MAD titles are not World titles, They are just the WMC muaythai against drugs champion not a world title. im sure of this because two of them were up for grabs on the Challenger final at the same weight. so they are just a title to promote MUAYTHAI AGAINST DRUGS!!

Also a quick apology to mark mathews re: me keep asking paige farrington fighting Emma he rang me and explained the situ re: paige only fights K-1 type fights and wont happen with emma.
I just want ( like Mark ) good fights for Emma and i / we strugglee for anyone under 50 kgs
Emma Beeps Bragg fought a tough and brave and less exp: Sai varleys girl Kirsty Green only a week ago for her English UKMF title defence at 50 Max
Kirsty was 49.5 on the day and Emma was 48.5 on the day

so anyone got any ideas of any female fighters in the UK at UNDER ? or 50 Max ? many thanks

Following the result of a certain fight tonight the next fight we are pleased to announce is none other than:

Andrew Tate (Storm Gym) vs Joe McGovan (SDF Sheffield)
Under oriental rules this is the cruiserweight battle that the whole country has been waiting to see! McGovan tonight (11 December) just won his first world title against non-other than multiple World Champion Marlon Hunt to cap a great year. World full contact champion Tate too has had a fantastic 2011 successfully switching to fighting K1 rules at top level, blasting his way through Enfusion and winning his ISKA title fight. Both fighters are bangers, both are on a roll, expect total fireworks!

Not too fussed sandy, will survive without it probs not worth much after converting it to auzzy dollar. Winner takes all on 2 main event fights! Real interesting. Wouldn't like to pick s winner from TNT thrasher. Am I right in thinkin TNT koed thrasher a few years ago in Leeds? Think thrash is the most improved fighter in Uk shows a old dog can learn new tricks. 2 awesome fights

I'm not surprised Dean White doesn't want that fight for Dale, even when Dale was active Dean never really took any risks with him. I know he never wanted Dale to step up and fight anyone at 55 even though they were the best fights out there with the likes of Howson and trainer.

It would be nice to think though that with a few warm up fights it could happen but I fear we will never see it.

For me though Wakeling v Watson is THE domestic fight.

Let's just hope they both want to get it on at some point!!

To be fair the higher class the figher the more difference the weight makes, you wouldnt see thais giving 1.5kg in stadium only Saenchai when he was struggling for fights.

Anyhow regardless of weight if Daz M happy to hold the money will have £2000 sidebet on Dean James.

Someone is a tad toucheee!
Bit harsh slagging Dan off. I think he has worked quite hard for the sport and himself. From a little hall in Eggham to the shows he puts on now is a huge step.
Deano youtrpost doesnt show you in a positive way.
I like your idea of the fighter putting a deposit down in case they back out! Not sure how many other fighters would support that one???

Dean has never pulled any punches, those of us who know him well enough know that to.

If the fight comes off it will be a cracker and will sell tons of tickets, personally I would like to see it on the Main event and see the lads get looked after and paid well.

Shame personal issues may get in the way of this so perhaps Mr White would reconsider and put Dale on the main event? I wont hold my breath though!.

HoostFan,

You think only Tony Myers and his direct descendants are the only people outside of Thailand who really know Muay Thai? Sorry I disagree. There are many coaches up and down the country who travel to Thailand regularly to further knowledge and pass it on to there students and have been doing for many years. This assumption that there are only a chosen few who understand and are proficient in muay thai in UK is rubbish.

Everyone bangs on about taking the sport and like I have always done on the previous rumble at the reebok show's is try to showcase the top talent and up and coming talent in this country ! The collaboration between Darren Dan and myself has always been there so of course Dan is going to put his own signed fighter on.

A judging desicion that you didn't agree with dean has no bearing what's so ever as the officials on the night will be selected by the sanctioning body as will the ref and I defo wont be doing any of it.

And Darren's relationship with Tony is a completely null point ! At the end of the day no fighters are forced to fight just simply asked and offer what I consider the highest purse's in the UK and look after in every other way possible !

The offer was made to show case the fight ! It's still on the table its in a neutral location and for all the world to see !!

Your choice ?

The personal issues are just a side show to this situation. I think the REAL issue is this....The time has come for Dale White to step up to the plate and to match up to the hype that surrounds him. Maybe in Dean James they see the guy who will expose that hype.

I can't ever recall a fight where Dale White has set the world a light. But, here's the chance to prove it. Dad & lad take the world on! Let's see the hype backed up with the skill, the taking apart of Deane James the two fingers up to the MT world from the maverick Dean White & Dale White..

A fathers love is a fathers love and he will do anything he can to protect his son and Dean has some very valid points on whos a knob and whos not. Some of them make my list to haha. But ALL promoters pluck feathers of people to make a profit on their investment. If Dale has fought in Thailand then he's fought and bet on. That's the ultimate plucking feathers off. But he'll get probably the best pay day of his life. Is that plucking feathers off the punters? No, it's him making money from his investment in the sport just like a promoter

Feathers aside all the distraction tactics are raising questions how good do they really believe Dale is? I have £500 here that says not has good as Dean James. That's not because I think he's rubbish, far from it but the fact there's some nervousness in the camp coming out through aggression and maverick style behavior. Everyone is their own man and women Dean isn't unique.

I think he also knows the only promoters that could put it on are Dan & Daz Morris. By offering it to other promoters it looks like the fights wanted. But in my opinion thats because they know nobody will take it.

If it was my son and I wanted to prove he was the best I'd work through the politics, agree the judges, the weight, the purse, the bonus and get it on. Because I'd want to see my son as the top man and get the recognition for the years of sacrafice. No better show than one this big. On a show this size theres no where to hide though and that maybe the problem lies there. It's full exposure of all strengths and all weaknesses.

I don't think the fight is any bigger than any of the others on the show and I think Harrisson V Khan & Watson V Wakeling are far bigger fights out there that would wet the appetite far more

I've promised myself not to come back on and read replies to this post. So, if u have something to say direct to the Ax board not me. I won't be here haha

re: "Dan Green's fighter on Dan Green's show"
I think the reputation I have for fair unbiased results on my events speaks for itself.

That aside Mr White was offered the opportunity to have input into judges for the fight. So it's a moot point.

considering dean james is pretty active when was the last time dale white competed? and how would dale white inactivity have no bearing on any fight? i see cherry pickers on here all the time, main event fighters or those touted as talent of the future being fed wee guys or euro level fighters rather than fighting top thai's, now there's not been any discussion of these fighters on here yet it's being implied that dale and deano white are ducking, i've not seen anything of them avoiding the fight, just want it to be evenly matched with venue and weight, don't think they've mentioned how inactive dale may have been, now would other camps be ready to step into the lions den as a comeback fight? probanbly not without some warm ups, it show the fighting spirit of the white family that they are up for this fight if the small details can be ironed out, only other fighter i've seen come back and fight the top names is steven wakeling and everyone knows what talent the wakeling family are(as well as being double hard) :)

Sandy,
Your posts actually hurt my eyes...they are the incoherant ramblings of a mad man!

Back to Dean v Dale, for once I agree with Nig Ash...I didn't really see this fight as that big of a deal in the first place. Got to admit though, this thread has made me interested...now I'm dying to see it, haha.

Is this the most elaborate ploy to hype up a match? Haha (Kidding)

If it was ever gonna happen though, for sure it would be on this event. Neutral show, mutually appointed officials and guaranteed good purses. I've worked on almost all of 'The Rumble' events, all 'The MSA' shows and almost all of Dan's recent promotions...never heard a single complaint from anyone about purses or hospitality....my guess is that no-one else will put this on!

As an aside to that bout...I'd LOVE to see Turner v Wooton...any chance?

Just watched the only fight I could find of Dale White's on Youtube. He looked sharp and proficient certainly, but no-where near on Dean James' level. I can see why his dad is avoiding them fighting, he'd get taken apart.

why not put dean james in with top name thai's then, he'll gain more from it, win or lose, i don't understand the urgency to fight dale white when dale white has been fairly inactive for 4 years, seems almost opportunistic

there's michael wakeling-jordan watson, liam harrison-tim thomas, michael dicks-andy thrasher/tim thomas and plenty of more fights that are potential fights of the year with top uk nak muay who have all been more active, don't understand the urgency for dale vs dean, let dean fight 2-3 top thai's while dale gets warmed up again, will be good prep for dean james and gives dale white time to find his form

Got to agree with billybigconkers. Seems Dale is being goaded into a fight with Dean. There must be plenty of other match ups for both fighters that could be made. Could still have them both on the show just fighting other people.
Kasat Therapy
Posted: 2011-12-19 20:59:44
Seems to be a major clique in UK Muay Thai and I think this may be the reason for the opportunistic approach? People in UK are probablytoo scared or and cautious about confirming this as a monopoly seems to be being formed as to promoters and fights/opportunities?

I don't know who Daz p is but as per reading above I see it's been suggested he likes Tony myres who trains Dean? Reason for opportunistic approach again? As a fan I'd love to see Dale take the fight as he would confirm my thoughts and prove a little too much for dean I believe. This fight won't happen unless Dale has another period of inactivity and then wants to accept the fight unfresh.

On another subject - what are the promoters fighting history? I hear Darren Morris trains bisping? The uk fighter who kicks butt in the states. What's his trainers fight record? I found that if Daz p is darren Phillips that he has been in with Denton and crooke. Is he the only person in the promotion that knows muay thai. My estimation leads me to believe this is true
ash409
Posted: 2011-12-20 02:09:13
Do you really need to know all the details of Muay Thai to promote it? Granted most come from training/fight background but a promotor is normally a business man/woman.
I don't think Don King was a huge boxer with numerous fights under his large belt.
I think some times its about passion and business. If you dont like Dan, Dan, Daz, Denzil, Dave, Dick, and anyone else with a D promoting fights you have to step up and do it yourself.
There are some great fighters and great fights on this show so lets enjoy them and celebrate the fact the the Brits can put on such a show..

Don`t really think Dean can be classed as a raw talent, he was at that stage a couple of years ago.

Would have thought Dale would need a couple more fights to get rid of the ring rust before taking Dean on as it would be a hard fight at the best of times.

Dave Jackson never fought did he, and he did alright with his fighters (including Bisping whilst he was carving out his career).

Mourinho was a flippin translator but he seems to do ok for himself in the footy world as well, not to mention Wenger.

If you can do the job you can do the job.

just noticed the comments ref: what trainers / teachers /instructors / coaches / kru whatever you like to call us / them ? :-p

Whats it got to do if the Instructor wasnt a champion or even a fighter? if he (she) can produce fighters and good thai boxing students also and champions then they "Must" be Good and qualified and have earned their stripes !
gradings etc: and courses and seminars (paper qualified) is just that... and im not calling it before you say ? / ask/ as im got quite a few of the above, but its the action that speaks louder than words of who and how youve taught etc:
Like some mentioned above and i might be wrong ( correct me if iam sorry)
have maybe had a fight or 2? or never fought to my knowledge?
dave jackson
dean white
and others im sure of it ! and sdo what?
daz morris as your talking about him i know hes had a fight i was in his corner lol
but whats that matter? Look at who hes taught and produced and look at his Promoter skills TOP notch the Best in Britain imo and matchmaking etc: etc:
daz morris has been helping and assisting me for years and im thankfull and glad he has he has a a very forward thinking and astute brain in muay thai !
yep darren phillips is the exception as you pointed out and had i think it was, 10 fights with me at Bolton Thai boxing Club, his first 12 years in his long and succesful carear to date, and fought 3 Big names back then
Eval Denton ( world champ )
Peter crooke ( world champ)
Chris Allen ( who beat JWparr btw )
so i really dont think any of these or others need questioning re: "have / wnho they fought"/ look at who they have taught and teaching they all done amazing and full on respect for earning their "stripes" the hard way if they havent been in the ring or once or twice? thery All still get my vote ! 5 x 3 mins Full Thai Rules:
Liam Harrison (Bad Company, England) vs Andrei Kulebin (Kick Fighter, Belarus)

The fight the fans asked for! - In his first fight in the UK for a whole year, pound for pound England's finest Liam Harrison goes up against the Belarussian fighting machine Andrei Kulebin. Twenty seven year old Kulebin, who has had over 150 fights in total (combining amateur and pro), has fought twice in the UK before beating both Michael Dicks and Imran Khan. Kulebin finished 2011 in outstanding form, winning the Belarus Big 8 world tournament at the end of November and is looking forward to fighting on UK soil again in 2012.
Twenty six year old Harrison, who we don't really need to tell you about, holds wins over Anuwat Kaewsamrit, Numphon PK Sterio & Sarmsamut Kiatchongkao, and was famously named by Sanchai as his best ever non-thai opponent, added a WBC title to his many others in 2011.

This truly is two of the world's very best going head to head and this will probably be your only chance to see Liam Harrison fight in the UK in 2012 - don't miss it!

This is an incredible fight whatever the outcome, for me personally the first reebok show was the best there were so many great fights like all the reebok shows, but for me rumble at the reebok means Juk vs Damian Trainer, so much hype and build up to that fight and the fight lived up to those expectations, I believe Liam vs Andrei will be the fight that will make the Main Event stand out, the fight itself will be a game of chess strategy and technique all the way through, Dixie made a small mistake and dropped his right hand and Andrei was on it like a tramp on a chip wrapper, can't see Liam given any defensive mistakes away, IMO it's going to the wire and the judges are going to ave tb on tiptop form scoring this, one kick or knee could decide the fight.

I honestly can't see Liam Harrison winning this fight. If people think he will be too strong for Kulebin they have not seen Kulebin fight.

The difference with this fight and others that Liam has fought in the past is size and strength, Liam was too big for the likes of Anuwat. This will be a different story

Should be a good scrap all round I reckon. Can't pick a winner at the minute but nothing wrong with people saying who they think will or won't win. No need to jump on someone for having an opinion just because it's not the same as yours.

Daz Morris - the WMC MAD means hardly anything - apart from that the title holder has beaten someone in a prestige fight -

WHAT IS THE POINT IN WMC MAD>>>???? I Can make some cool wwe belts for you to put on? all shiny...

Forget the titles just fight for no1 spot.

ridiculous.

My point is that this title keeps getting mentioned to promote fights - great fights in fact. BUT WHY?? so all the public can come and see 50 championship belts being foughbt for in one fight!? rubbish

Any fighter or fight can fight for a MAD world title if you show the money -

We have about 20 in states - most arent listed online - infact i'm not sure any are.

Thrasher v Thomas - Super Presitge - Undisputed UK NO.1 SPOT - HOW MUCH better does that sound.

Instead we have Thrasher WMC MAD WKA WEF WWFchampion v THOMAS WMC MADII WKAR ABC DEF Champion - It doesnt do the fighters justice.
Kasat Therapy
Posted: 2011-12-29 11:02:14
Gav - no it isnt because 4 titles? Who has Thrasher and Thomas beat to get them titles? is the WMC one even regional??? or just MAD>?!

can anyone answer that one? is the WMC MAD title a world title? Who was beaten for the WKA?

I think the promoters of this show should put a neck out here - they have some of the best domestic fights ever seen so why dont they create a championship sanctioning body? winner of Thrasher Thomas wins the belt? to get that ONE belt, you have to fight the winner of that FIGHT - not a nobody??

Dean James V Dale white would be another good start - if dale wins you know who has the title?

Its starting to happen here and working - make THIS show and THIS brand the one to fight on by creating this opportunity. Get as far to a monopoly as you can then dominate

Thrasher beat Dave Newbrook for WKA World title & Frankie Hudders for the WMC MAD at the first two rumble shows.I think it's good that the fighters are willing to put all titles on the line, never seen it before but it is to proove who is best in the division. In Boxing it is regular that the fighters will gain all world titles to unify the division and defend them together, look at Haye v Klitscko, that way nobody can argue who's at the top. Of course the UFC have an even better idea having only one title. But whilst more than one title exist, unifying them is the next best way IMO. Furthurmore, it's good for the sport that champions are defending titles, seems to be going on more recently and that is definitely better than just winning a title and never defending it, so again another plus.

Looks like this show is gonna be awesome!!

JB Muay Thai - your spot on but you don't realise it-

Boxing is going backwards dont you agree? It's a fact anyway if you look at PPV figures accross the globe -

HOWEVER -

THE UFC however - Biggest growing combat sport in the world second to none - WHY?! because of the way it is managed - they sanction their own fights and started out by promoting shows with a bit of cash. $2m (£1m) at the time - not a lot of money at all.

ONE BELT for ONE DIVISION - Only way this sport will grow- you should have to be signed to fight for shows like The Main Event- they should pay fighters contracts - get them binded by the men with the books and go forward that way -

Why doesnt someone say -

Heres the deal - Your fighting for me 5 times this year - I choose who you fight along with your management - you're not fighting for anyone else on these shores - who you fight will be dependent on who you beat - you will get paid £10k for the priveledge. obviously monetry values will fluctuate - and of course the prmooters are going to chirp up with the "what about injuries" "what about this what about that" well fuck that and COPY the UFC. Muay Thai in the UK doesn't look like a sport - it looks like a get together - get harsh get proper.

These boys of the Main Event look like they have the tools to do the production if its anything like reebok (far superior to early UFC production). I know someone very close to the business side of the UFC so if anyone wants some in depth confidential info I can pass on.
Daz Morris
Posted: 2011-12-29 15:41:15
I totally agree with that kasat ! But until muay Thai has zuffa behind it
Myself Daz P and Dan are doing are up most to bring it together the UFC is bang on with one world title per division

Problems exist with contracting in this sport, unlike the UFC where pay days are football money and the reality to sue a fighter exist

If a fighter actually broke contract in uk muay thai would any one actually sue a fighter ?? Not for the money they are paid in the country !! IMO

Posted: 2011-12-29 15:50:02
Too may belts to know who is the true champ. One upside of multiple belts is unification bouts but how often do we see them? Problem we have had for a while there are certain circles that stick together and support each others shows and won't venture out of their circle. However this situation seems to have improved in recent years so hopefully it's a sign of things to come. But get rid of all these belts, every town has a british champ!
Kasat Therapy
Posted: 2011-12-29 16:02:05
Hi Daz thanks for the reply - sorry I don't know what zuffa means haha:

The thing is dude you could easily sue a fighter - because they aren't being paid footballers wages you could take it to the court of small claims for £250 - if the contract is drawn up well and a lawyer has proof read it then the fighter would get laughed out of court.

Daz I think you can do this - why the hell not? You would never have to advertise fights you would be in complete control of bouts. Wouldn't cost you any more than it already does. Fighters in the states take pay cuts for multi fight contracts - gives them security on fights? Am I making sense in saying this is doable without much red tape? Ive seen it being and currently being done and achieved.

And I know that you can chose your matches now but it's all subject to availability / trainers / shitty sporting politics / cliques weather u like it or not.

If Andy thrasher pulled out of your main event - you would go and replace him if possible with suitable opponent for Tom Thomas. However things under the above would be so much different. He couldn't pull out. And 2 if he did you have a fighter who by contract has already trained in case of pull out (higher fee paid to other fighter) also cuts out bill shit excuses. The short notIce fighter would be training already because he's scheduled on your show the month after - but because you "own" the contract he does what the fuck you say

Obviously with 2 great fighters people are going to have different opinions but i do think a lot of people underestimate how technically good liam is............yes he is a banger with his hands and has ko d a lot of people but he is also so smart and does so many little subtle things that sometimes go unnoticed, cant wait for this one!

Watched Kulebin fight at IFMA Worlds last year, he was good but got beaten by a tallish skinny Thai in the final

The Thai didnt have much real power but tied Kulebin up and out clinched/kneed him every round, i was 4 feet away and could see the frustration on Kulebins face, it looked like teh Thai didnt really get out of 4th Gear

I know its Amateur so a slightly different scoring criteria but Kulebin was trying to hurt the Thai with power shots and Thai was never hurt and a little bit 'awkward'

Liam to win if he fights smartly IMO

Luke has been ducking the rematch with our Kotsur for a long time Kulebin is a better boxer by a long way like when he dominated Khan for five rounds but Liam should beat Kulebin by a clear margin.
The winner of Thrasher fight should fight Liam for number one undisputed at 66kg id Thrasher can make the weight.

Well done 3D! Putting promotional egos and differences aside and joining together to create 'The Main Event' is a bold, mature and intelligent step forward. 2012 may be the year of the Olympics and the Queen's Jubilee but because of the foresight and dedication of 3D promotions it will also be the year of the Muay Thai Mega shows. This is a positive step in the right direction and we should all embrace and support it (as we should for all our UK shows) Daz Morris, Dan Green and Daz Phillips should be commended & praised for what will no doubt be an epic task for them. In life you either aspire or inspire, you aim for the standard or you set the standard - Well done guys! and the very best for what will be one of the 'Main events' of the year

5 x 3 mins Full Thai Rules:
Sam Omomogbe (Liams Gym) VS Solomon Wickstead (Franks Gym)

Two of the countries most talented young fighters will meet again, this time in a Full Thai Rules contest. Both fighters have had a solid 2011, with Sam recording impressive wins over Sean Perry and Jonno Chipchase and Solomon a spectacular head-kick KO of Chris Hargreaves amongst their respective scalps.
These lads have met before with Solomon coming out on top so Sam will be keen to set the record straight...

My experience of announcing a full fight card on Ax is the second you do, they all pull out or change. At the moment we have a ridiculous amount of fights matched, so some people may end up disappointed. That said we have already announced

A class
Liam H V Andre K
Andy Thrasher v Tim Thomas
Sam v Solomon
Mark Skeer v Karl Ryan

K1
Joe Mcgovan v Andrew Tate

It looks like Paul K will fight the winner of Danny Crompton v Darren O'connor in A British title defence

Daitan Jackson will also be on the show

There are still more fights to add to the card and as some of these fighters compete before the 31st March I don't want to jump the gun.

aaahhh the old "stop bitching" comment. Can't remember were I've heard that before?? Was it when I was complaining about been pinned down in Sangin, Helmand Province for 48 hours with barely enough food, water and ammo to stay alive..........or in fact was it the time I was moaning while having shrapnel removed from my legs and back after been caught in an IED blast??? I can't remember. Point is what you class as "bitching" is not what I class as "bitching". I simply have an opinion that differs to yours, maybe you need to consider that in the future before posting.

Verbal agreements don't really mean much if terms and conditions are still to be finalised. I'm not trying to have a go, just seen it happen far too many times when you go to a show and the fight card is completely different to the one you paid for.

Are all the other fights verbal agreements or have contracts been signed?

Kaiser-chief, assomeone serving i find it idiotic of you to even mention your irrelivent comment, you r not the only soldier who has been on tour in iraq/afghanistan yet you give it bobby big bolox on here. I may come acriss as disrespectfull on this matter but i served in iraq and i know what i signed up for and will never throw the wounded soldier card around. Pvt paul gibson.

Yeah sandy oviously this show is pulling out all the stops and I honestly don't think, in terms of high calibre fights, the xplosion can compare... The fights announced so far... Liam vs kulebin, thomas vs thrasher, mcgovan vs tate and soloman vs sam omomogbe if it was just a show with them fights on alone and no undercard I'd go to it.. Massive massive fights!!! I don't think this show has been given enough credit so far!

two shows same day one in south one in north i am commentating on main event even so I wish xplosion all the best with that one because shows like both of these can only draw attention to the sport which is a good thing kieran sold last one out and Daz Morris can sell water to fish dan green and Darren Phillips have seen and done it all great day for the sport : ) x

Wakeling v Jose was agreed and we announced it. It had nothing what so ever to with wakelings wanting to fight down south there was counter offer made to Jose and they his management decided to jump ship no big deal mark wakeling has already discussed with me about mike on our next show all good

Who is Jose management and why do they not have any loyalty to local promoter?

And Paul
you Would know who craig jose trainer / manager was if you say you'd booked him last year? Everyone knows ( i assume lol )and still plenty of time from when and then, that you got and getting BIG names for this Main Event show and easy when you have some "THE" best fighters coming from the UK and probably Biggest names in the World !
(outside of Thailand of course, and IMO ) .... A Bold Statement i hear some saying???? Tell me im Wrong???

I think Liam will win, kulebin is awesome but I'm not sure he's the same fighter as he was a few years ago, all Liam has to do is elbow just above his forehead n he'll cut just like sudsakorn did :) but great fight n kulebin is mint !

I like the idea of a show nort and south.
The poor northerners can trudge bare foot in shell suits, with their permed hair, chips and gravy to a squallid little northern venue, lit with candles and the smell of BO heavey in the air.
The southerns can pt on their suits and arrive in gleaming vehicles to a venue with soft seats, semi naked babes at the door the smell of roses in the air. Great idea..

5 x 3s FTR
Mark Skeer (Salford) vs Karl Ryan (Next Generation)

Salford's Mark Skeer will be looking to impress in this intriguing encounter against the more experienced Karl Ryan. Skeer was on the wrong end of a majority decision in a memorable fight against Mikey Wiseman in November where both fighters were knocked down for 8 counts. Ryan has an impressive record with 17 wins from 22 bouts but has been inactive for 18 months, losing on points last time out in a British Title challenge. Both lads will be hoping to get back to winning ways - expect a war in this one!

There are so many good fights out there for Jordan, personally I don't think the re-match with Mosab is a bad shout. I expect Jordan would win again but it would still be competetive. Giorgio is a fish that is too big to fry. Time could, and i hope it doe's proove me wrong.

Jordan vs Robin van Roosmalen would be competetive.

just been to Commentate live in Thailand for the outdoor Show @ the MBK Natioanl stadium area, Master Woodys show for upcoming fighters and farang ( internationals v Thailand fights )

Defo Re-match wanted by Mosi
had the pleasure to meet him again ( tonight earlier on @ the Bangkok MBK Fights )
and he pointed this out that he wants to fight the best out there and keen to fight in the UK and would really like the chance to fight Jordan watson again saying "jordan is a great fighter i respect him and lost to him, but woukld like the chance to fight him again and in th UK or anywhere? In the Challenger Muay Thai semi final i wasnt at my best having only 2 days to rest from a 5 round hard battle with Marco pique and taking a clash of shins and injury and a broken rib, please dont take it as a excuse just 2 days to rest and i beleive jordan was more lucky to have 10 days from his previous bout, its just how it happened and not a excuse, but if we are both the same 100% then the re-match everyone will enjoy"
Also id be happy to fight the Great British fighters sandy holt told me about and ive heard and seen these names and i would like to fight any of them this year, as ive big plans on my fight list and want to prove to myself and the world im up there in the busy and strong -72.5 kilos division, sandy mentioned these and yes to any of them-

Anyway, back on topic...this show is shaping up to be immense.
Liam Harrison v Andrei Kulebin alone is worth the ticket money.

and bet neither has ever or will ever put a show on? just luve to PUNCH the keyboard and the occasional Pad and thn tell us ALL and me how its done lmao

i luv negativity in a weird way coz all you / they do is make me see what I HAVE Got and what i DONT want THANKS xXx and Hoostfan
keep it coming !

take another read at this guys n gals
need i justify this? shall i? and why would i Ignore Gav? he fought B-class and soon to be A class and happy to put him on my Next IKON show at A class ( rematch been asked BTW from Nick Wilson ) so lets do it and Feature Another Local lad ! i like both Gav and Nick and happy to showcase them !
ref: the costs of a a show ( & last Ikon ) is crazy compared to the profit it really isnt worth doing as i can tell you BOTH Craig jose and Daiton got paid more than i earned for 3 months work puitting and promoting the show (FACT)
this is why i only put 1 to 3 shows a year (mostly 2 a year)

anyway read away enjoy my xXx who normally has great posts and i enjoy his MT and Sport intelligence / knowledge, guess a negative one, once in a while is cool so no probz sir x

Sandy sorry mate just saying it as I see it, all u seemed to post about was the world title fight, fair enough u might of been buzzing about it as it was probs the first world title fight u have put on but... As a promoter u can't put all your eggs into one basket when there's a full fight card on u need 2 show the other fighters credit and some kind of recognition.. And your tellin me with the 30 pound entrance fee u didn't pocket much? And in regards to gav rogerson... I remember seein on tyour shows thread that you wanted to put it on C class coz of the money u was spending putting on the world title fight.

UKMF English Title defence- Mike Clarke (Tobins) vs Gavin Rogerson (Wigan Thai)

Undefeated Mike Clarke puts his English Title on the line in this hugely anticipated fight against Wigan's Gav Rogerson. With a perfect record of 15 wins from 15 bouts, Clarke is the man to beat in the U.K in this division. With a victory over Wicker Camp's rising star James Ogden on his impressive C.V that also includes european opponents, Clarke is renowned for his ability to finish a fight early. Gavin also has a record to be proud of with 11 wins from his 15 contests, including victories over Andy Bakewell, Seb Long and Adam Hadfield. This is a fantastic match-up between two of the countries best 76kg fighters, surely worth the entrance fee alone!

The Irish are coming!!

Our next two confirmed fights are too hugely interesting international contests.

5 x 3 mins Full Thai Rules
Dean James (Pra Chao Sua) vs Stephen Meleady (Bridgestone, Ireland)

Some creative, clever matchmaking brings you one of the most intriguing contests to take place on UK soil in a while. Top technical fighter Dean James, doing what many of the top Thais such as Sanchai do and fighting outside his preferred weight class to make a fight, will take on Ireland's finest Stephen Meleady. Meleady though is no stranger himself to giving weight away having last time in Manchester beaten the highly rated Paul Kaporwicz. Many on UK shores may not know much about the man from Ireland, but he is a highly experienced top rated fighter. Meleady holds several Irish & Anglo-Irish titles, has 30 fights to his name and spent a year in Thailand fighting several decent names including 7 Thais, one of which was Dawsaming Ingram Gym ex raja no 1. In addition the Kaporwiczw fight Meleady also recently beat the highly rated Polish Champion Rafal Simonides.

Dean James had a fine run of form in 2011, stopping all 3 of his opponents - WAKO-pro World (K1) Champion Fernando Machado, ISKA World champion Andy Howson and Italian Champion Joseph Lasiri - in under 4 rounds and is now unbeaten in nearly 5 years!!

Both are fine, top notch technicians and this fight really could go either way!

ISKA European title Defence - 5 x 3 mins Full Thai Rules
Daitan Jackson (Salford Muaythai, Defending champion) vs Jono Bracken (Bridgestone, Ireland)

Daitan Jackson is never in a boring fight and as a general rule, neither are the Irish!
Expect non-stop hard hitting action as Manchester favourite Jackson does what every great fighter does and puts his European title on the line against double Irish Champion Jono Bracken. Bracken (who has had 24 fights in total) too has spent time in Thailand having 7 fights there and winning 5 of them. He has an exicting come forward style, similar to Jackson's and this will be a great fight between the two. Jackson's highlights of 2011 include beating Kris Addis and he is ready and raring to go for a big 2012. Don't blink during this one!

With a couple more bouts still to be announced, this truly will be The Main Event for British muaythai.

Holy shitballs batman!!!! Deano and Ste is a great fight, have known about it for a while and its taken some keeping quiet about it. Fair play to deano moving up as Ste is a strong guy and been in with some great people. I love them both to bits and both good mates so its a tough 1 to call, again awesome work the 3D's. Keep this shit up all day long :)

James vs Meleady, what a fucking fight! This IMO is defs a 50/50 fight as both are awesome fighters with exceptional skill and power! Must agree with Vinny about Tate, could watch him fight all day long, and his trash talk is even better haha!

Dale v Dean died ages ago.

Got to many A class on already so Gave V Mike is B class English Title defence, hopefully they will be back at a class on the next show.

Paul Kapowitz v the winner of Darren O'connor and Danny Crompton British title defence is missing of that list

This is the best card we've done yet. As a promoter/matchmaker what I love best is not knowing who will win a fight. To often in some promotions and other sports you know before you get there. All these fights can go either way

There is still more to announce as well

James vs Meleady will be a great fight, good to see James stepping it up a bit now. No disrespect intended but I saw the vid of his last fight in Birmingham and it was like throwing a lamb to the lion, despite the italian's title he was far from championship level imo. That's no fault of Dean James as on paper it looked a good match up, just be nice to see him fight some more decent fellas and develop himself further
xXx
Posted: 2012-01-20 07:39:32
dean james has fought and beat the best in britain and two world champions damian trainor and andy howson, how is that not fighting the best? and IMO it is a step down from howson etc... altough it is a step up in weight, i expect dean to win on points or cuts, i still to this day think karpowicz beat meleady.
liam badco

Dont see how meleady is a step up for james after hes thought some of the best inculding howson etc. And agree with xxx i stil think karpowicz won the previous fight at the reebok and id know id prefer to see james and karpowicz. Two superbly technical fighters. Whereas meleady is not so technical and quite robotic at times.

ste meleady vs paul k was unanimous dec...defo the right one too
AndySutton
Posted: 2012-01-20 08:22:47
Dean has never fought Trainer and yes Andy was a good fight for him hence me saying its good to see him fighting some MORE decent opponents. Dean is one of my favourite technical fighters and I believe he is capable of fighting and beating bigger people than he has been previously matched with. I'm not saying Meleady will be a step up because he's a better fighter than Dean, just that he's a better fighter than MOST of the people dean has been fighting. Regardless it will be a good fight for them both and certainly for the spectators
DavyMac

great match with dean and meleady, got really different styles but both tough, fit, strong and been in with top guys............surprised some people think karpowicz should have got the decision, no disrespect to paul at all but i didnt think it was even that close, might go watch it again now

From a Muay Thai point of view, which is what the fight was, The Kapowitz Meleady fight was not even close.

Meleady won that fight it's unquestionable, no disrespect to Paul but it was a clear unanimous decision. Dean vs Meleady will be a fantastic fight from spectator view and will be interesting to see who faces Paul out of crompton and DOC :-D show is really starting to hot up now...
Liam R
Posted: 2012-01-20 09:37:37
in terms of the bout being close as in no-one was getting totally wasted by the other i can understand but scoring wise Meleady won by some clear margin and fought the perfect fight with good gameplan against Paul.
I dont however think even with the weight advantage he will be able to do the same to Dean.
Meleady definitely on top at that weight as we havent seen Colville fight domestic for some time so its a good fight.
On his way up the rankings Dean beat current number 1's at the weights above not sure which ones they were maybe Mark Timms and Graeme Ness?

i thought the better techniques were thrown by paul k, he landed with clean elbows clean body kicks and blocked most of meleadys kicks the only thing meleady did was come forward and clinch! if the first two rounds were scored then clearly paul won, ive just watched it again and the only way i can see it been given to meleady is with the clinch in the last two rounds but even then paul was landing with clean elbows and kicks unless clinch MASSIVELY outscores body kicks and elbows, anyway this show is looking AMAZING! cant wait!!

The Scottish are coming

Stuart Kemp (Tobin’s Leeds) v Adrian Wedalowski (Griphouse)

This K1 Rules bout will be a real don’t blink affair. Kemp is renowned for his KO Power with 20 wins from 24 fights. Wedalowski has 12 ko’s in his 15 wins. Both lads are teak tough and exciting to watch. Over the sprint distance this will be a real firecracker

Nathan Bendon (Corefit UK) v Brian Totty (Griphouse)

After a successful junior career including 11wins from 15 bouts, Bendon has progressed quickly through the Pro ranks, fighting B class after only his 2nd fight and recently defeating Dave Gumbley. Totty also has an impressive record with 9 wins from 12 contests, including a KO victory over scottish champion Ahmed Ibrahim. This 1 will be another crackert

Thanks to the 3 D's for having us over. Steo and Jono really looking forward to it. Pity its not in the Reebok again as I thought Daz with all his contacts could let us change in the corporate boxes again and arrange for Man Utd to play Bolton while we wait, spoilsport.

Should have some support heading over for this one.

BTW Paddy Steo fights usually at 59kg, he moved up a weight division to fight Karpowicz and now he is moving a weight division down from his normal to fight Dean so he swings both ways (hope people dont get the wrong idea LOL).

Stuart Kemp v Adrian Wedalowski is a tough fight to call. Adrian is the busier fighter and more varied with his attacks. I'd go with Adrian by TKO.

Nathan Bendon v Brian Totty. Brian is too slow and very easy to hit. I can see Bendon picking him off until a late stoppage.

Sam Omomogbe VS Solomon Wickstead. Sam by KO.

Andy Thrasher v Tim Thomas. I think Tim Thomas will take it on points. Hopefully there will be a few knock downs. This is the fight I am most looking forward to.

Liam Harrison V Andre Kulebin. This fight has come way too late. neither fighter seems at their best. I think it will go the distance and won't live up to the hype. I hope I am wrong for the spectators sake.

Good luck to all the fighters.

Sandy
both lads have had brilliant junior careers and just starting on the Adult circuit .

I Dont think Chad could have won many more titles as a junior kickboxer training under his dad Dean at Newark Martial Arts & and hes not started bad at K1 having a great win Salah Abdelsalem from Minators, great family & nice people also watch out for little Brothers Regis 16yrs & Bailey 14yrs who are both at the top of their games..The old fella wasent bad either..

Joe Roberts from Jai muaythai in silsden west yorks & is trained by Robin Sheperd ,joes done mainly K1 and won the WRSA title last year against another great yougster Danny Capness..
Best thing you can say about Joe is that he is a nightmare to match as not many lads want to fight him..

Along with Tate v Mcgovern these are headline fights in there own right not because its K1 or thai but because they are great fighters..

joe is being really hard to match as pete says, hence alot of k1. hes chomping at the bit to get some thai match ups. but as hes so young its hard.

Any Mc's out there wanna do the undercard, lol
I get bored after 8 or 9 fights.

Kemp v Wedelowski has fight of the night written all over it, Tate v McGovern would be brilliant but my guess is that it won't be on long, lol...two explosive come forward style fighters each with proper stoppage power...my money is on Tate though.

Anyone betting on this?

For me Thrasher is one of the most improved British fighters and top contender ! ...... Thrasher against any one at 67, Dicks should be next !

Since their last meet Thomas is an improved fighter and Thrasher is a different fighter.

Personally I wouldnt put money down trying to predict this one

I've sparred with tim in his early days he was a great fighter then now I believe he can be the best. For me tim will win.

I will put £20 on Thrasher to win Shane if u want it?
Gavin is not on 'Lean+Green' as you put it anymore. He was just outclassed by a better fighter on the day. The shows are 'Fighting Machines', Lean+Green is business name.

U didnt offend me with Supreme Greens dont worry. I know exactly what u meant. Gav is better at 76kg imo. He will be alot better with Mike Clarke im sure.
I think Tim v Andy will be close but put my money on Thrash as know him well and think he has the better of Tim. I will say everytime I have watched Tim he is class and Thrash needs to keep his chin down!! Good fight, great matchmaking.
The Hammer

I train with Tim and he is really sharp at the moment, if he's relaxed and on his game that day Thrasher will have to watch out!!

Equally I will take nothing away from Thrasher, stunning fighter and I'm really looking forward to this fight over any fight of the night.

I really hope this show lives up to expectations because its about time promoters like the guys running it stepped up and took a chance.....Muay Thai really showing it's worth in the UK.

Good luck to all......TNT to win in 3 rounds....I hope!

Kombat League World Title 5 x 3 mins
Rick Barnhill (Super Gym, Manchester) vs Mohammed Majeid (Modena fight Team, Defending Champion)

Our last main event to announce brings you some world class oriental rules action as IKF European Champion Rick Barnhill challenges defending champion Mohammed Majeid for the KL world title. Majeid originally won the Kombat League title beating Barnhill giving him an eight count in the first round and on top of that was the winner of the first K-1 Max Italy and beat Kevin Harper in his prime! Kombat League is one of the best regarded organisations in Europe and is the org that Giorgio Petrosian made his name with.
This rematch is the fight Barnhill has always wanted and some knockdowns can be guaranteed!

paul123 winning the toyaota tournament is a big achievement and andy did very well sparking him, was a good finish. However i just dont see him avoiding the tnt bomb for 5 rounds, and when that connects on his chin its going to be lights out, its going to be an awesome fight, like the hammer said if tims relaxed, which he will be then theres only one winner, but we shall see :)

Definitely both improved massively and also both had huge 2011, Tim had a lot of fights and majority wins.
Thrasher huge win against Prakaisaeng who just got bombed out again 1st round hes deffo chinny now, i think it will always be in the back of Andys mind what happened in the first fight and wont want to make same mistake twice but Tim isnt just a headhunter which he shown against Khan will be top fight and definitely the two that deserve to be number 1 and 2 in the uk no question about that with their achievements in past year and records.
Anyone betting?
HoostFan

Sorry I didn't meam to imply Tim was just a head hunter but I think the first fight will be in the back of his mind as well and if things are not going all his way which obviously they won't he might just start chasing the KO. great fight either way

Hey Darnell - I'll have a wager with you lets say a monkey eh??
seeing as you're so confident in Tim's mental edge lol ;-)
I'm really looking forward to this show - this rematch has been a long time coming for me, and as you say Tim sparkled me good style last time, few contributing factors on my part at the time, but I won't make excuses - Tim won fair and square and to be honest is the first person to ever knock me out.
I have a lot of respect for Tim and we're good mates, I admire his work and has represented the UK in fine style over the lastfew years, he's always humble and I like that, we will both be at the bar drinking together after the fight as always, but make no mistakes I'm looking for the number 1 spot and revenge and I won't accept anything but the win, as I'm sure Tim will feel the same, both putting a world title up each which also adds to the excitement.
As far as the rest of the show goes - its mouth watering - for me Liam will have too much for Andre, but will be a great fight - my irish brothers have very hard fights against two of my english brothers Dean and Daiton - I'm that close I find it hard to be partial, so won't try to call the results for them - Ste and Dean have contrasting styles which will make for a very exciting fight.
Daiton and Jonno have very similar styles and I predict a right smack down between these two - how we like it lol
Paul K and Doc's fight will be another contrast in styles - trained with both of them and can't wait to watch it, Daz looking strong in his last fight, and Paul is very stylish unpredictable fighter, so again don't want to call it- to be fair I'd put money on all of them so if anyone fancies a flutter for fun give me a shout - but I'll have £50 on Liam to beat Kulebin, and another £20 on him stopping him inside the distance.
All in all looking like a top show - just a great shame it's on same day as Semtex' o2 show. But Uk Muay Thai is heading in the right direction and I think these fights will help promoters pick the opponants for a US vs UK show being talked about over in the US.

Hey Darnell - yeah mate I'll have that wager, but you tell me how much you want on it - that figure was a bit tongue in cheek - but hell, I've got mouths to feed and bills to pay so let me know if you want it and we can give the money to a neutral party (me) and I promise I wont be in the first taxi outta there if the fight doesnt go my way ;-)
Honestly speaking though, I think Tim is a great fighter and bloke, so no matter what the result we will still be mates after...........as long as there is no infamous floor boots or back breaking lol ;-)

Gavin Rogerson has had to withdraw from the fight against Mike Clarke due to a foot infection. Andy Bakewell (Waterloo Street Gym) will now take his place. Andy had a disappointing end to 2011 but is as tough as they come and has a decent record of 8 wins from 12 fights, including a win over Luke O'shaunessey and an impressive stoppage win over Salford's Martin Davies. Both lads are bangers and this should make for a cracking fight

Undercard fight:

Duncan Stewart (Hakuda) v Carlos Degraca (Bolton Thai Boxing)

Both of these heavyweights are flying after fantastic stoppage victories in their last fights.  After 5 kickboxing contests Duncan had a long break from competition but made his comeback last year and recorded 2 wins from 2 Thai fights, the last of those victories coming by way of a 3rd round TKO. The lesser experienced Carlos has been training in martial arts for 12 years and had his first Thai fight under Sandy Holt in February, winning in spectacular style against a much heavier opponent in the very first round. This has all the makings of a quality heavyweight fight!

Undercard fight

Paul Crossley (Tiger King, Walkden) Vs Johnny Hunter (Master Chana)

Another bout involving two big heavy hitters sees Walkden's Paul Crossley up against the powerful Johnny hunter. Last time out Hunter put on an explosive display against Macclesfield's Tony Goodwin, stopping him inside 3 rounds. Crossley has been out of action for over 18 months but has 4 wins from his 6 contests and is raring to get back in the ring. This should be another cracking fight!

This may just be the last chance to see me fight in the UK, as I have just agreed to fight on the Petchindee programme for the forthcoming year, which includes four Toyota tournaments and the grand final if I'm succesful. There is also other promotions to fight on for the same promoters.

On top of this, after speaking to the owner of TopKing Boxing, who is also a co promoter of THAIFIGHT, tonight at Lumpini, I have agreed to fight on Thai-Fight Extreme shows when possible, I think the next one is China in September. Ironically I am unable to fight in the actual THAIFIGHT tournament as I am Toyota champion, Thai Fight is sponsored by Isuzu, a conflict of interests etc - but happy of the opportunity all the same.

I said that I was going to stop fighting this year, so that I can concentrate on family etc, so this will be a massive opportunity for me to bow out in style.

Anyway - as I said this may be the last chance to see me fight in the UK this year, maybe ever - so get your tickets in ASAP as I am looking to further my career and reputation one fight at a time starting with this one - against a great world champion and flag bearer of UK thai boxing - Tim TNT Thomas.
Add this to the other main event - Liam "The Hitman" Harrison Vs Andre Kulebin and the other headline fights, as well as a scorching undercard, this is going to be a show not to be missed
and anyone that does may be sorely dissapointed in time.

Come and support the best of the UK Thai Boxing scene, and all their hard work, commitment, dedication and sacrifice and help push UK Thai boxing into the mainstream and the world scene !!!

Brief interview with Liam 'Hitman' Harrison

3D: How does Andrei Kulebin compare to some of the other world class fighters you have faced such as Sanchai, Anuwat etc?

LH: I think he's up there with the best in the world. He's fought Sudsakorn, Saiyok, he's beaten Mosab Amrani and loads of other top fighters. He's definitely one of the best outside Thailand and if I want to prove that I'm one of the best outside Thailand, he's someone I need to beat.

3D: What do you think his strengths and weaknesses are?

LH: He's very technical, fast and sharp. He a good strong clincher. I'm not coming to play around, I'm going to try to hurt him early on and slow him down.

3D: With that in mind, what's your gameplan for this fight?

LH: I'm going to fight to my strengths this time. In my last fight I didn't really fight to my strengths, I was trying to play a game that wasn't my own so this time I'm going to fight my fight, rip into him with solid power shots with technique as well.

3D: You've moved up a weight for your last couple of fights, 66.6kg for this one, is this your permanent weight category now?

LH: No, I'm coming back down after this one. I'm too small for it to be honest, all the guys I'm fighting are giants at this weight! I don't really have to diet much to make weight for these fights and it makes me feel a bit sluggish. My best weight is 63-65kg really so I'm looking to come back down to around 64/65kg max after this.

3D: Have you got other fights in the pipeline already this year?

LH: I've got a fight against Houccine Bennaoui in France on June 2nd, he's a good name who's just won a 4 man tournament over there. He's just beaten Mosab Amrani and he's fought Anuwat and some other good names so that's a good fight for me.

3D: Who are the other big name fighters you'd like to fight?

LH: I want to fight Fabio Pinca. There's talk about it at the moment so hopefully it will happen. I think if I beat Kulebin it's got to happen, so we'll see.

3D: Anything you'd like to add?

LH: I'd like to say thank you to everyone from Bad Company, my training partners, my sponsor Yokkao Boxing and also thanks to everyone at 3D for having me on the show.

Due to personal reasons Dean James has had to withdraw from the fight with Ste Meleady. Big thanks to Danny Crompton who has stepped in at short notice to take the fight.

Gavin Rogerson had to withdraw from fighting Mike Clark due to injury, Andy Bakewell is now fighting Mike.

I think 4th

Kapowicz wins by points.

Tim Thomas wins by ko in in round 3.

I wont be betting on this because i dont have the bottle, it is just a prediction

Like all the previous rumble at the reebok shows all fighters will be given signature bespoke fight gloves provided by sandee and fightshop.com, these will be worn on the night and theirs to keep afterwards. These glove like the last reebok can not be bought anywhere !

Second to this will be fight shorts as above bespoke etc

And lastly vyomax our supplement sponsor will be attending the weigh inn and give every fighter a care package !

This will be one hell of a show !! If haven't bought a ticket your gonna be very upset missing this on

just wanna start by saying thanks to Daz M, Daz P and Dan G for having me on the show.

I'm over the moon with that win I really am, it makes the last 6 years of my life worth it. The training hard every day and the thousands of pounds i've spent going to Thailand and that made it worth every penny.

I first saw Paul fight about 5 or 6 years ago on leeds town hall VS John Dennis in there first fight and I remember being amazed at some of the stuff they were doing to each other... so to be in the ring with him 6 years later and beating him is something that I can't put into words what it means to me.

I'm so happy for Liam to win aswell and prove he's the top dog in Europe, he was one lf the first of many good mates ive made through this sport and i was delighted to see his success tonight x

Philip, no offence taken... we can both come up with arguements like that all day, i can say '2 out of 3 ain't bad' in regards to the judges decision.... Spoke to a few other officials at the show who had no doubt about who won (me) so that will do for me.

Paul himself said to me girlfriend that he knew I won, good enough for me

Brilliant show, I really enjoyed the fights and the atmosphere was electric for such a big room.
I was really impressed with the red-haired Scottish fight from Griphouse, he fought brilliantly!
My fight of the night was Paul K-Daz O'Conner, Daz didn't get dragged into Paul's game and put on a quality performance. Paul was as usual great to watch!

Thats probably the best venue in Uk I have been to in 30 years of Muay Thai!.

The show itself was ran very smoothly so a big well done to the 3 Ds and all involved.

I thought the first half of the show was good but the second ie the main events were very good and in the case of Liam Harrison bloody great!.

Cant see how people think Paul K beat Darren O Conner I thought Darren scored well especially the last 3 rounds, nice work with the left kick, really enjoyed the fight by the way and well done both lads.

I thought that Solomon Wickstead had done enough to get the nod against Sam Omomogbe.

What to say about the Hitman Harrison! what a great performance well done that man, clinical use of the low kick, great defence, composure, desire the lot, well done Liam and Bad Co.

Overall I had a great night out, still to many fights for my liking but I understand why that is,I also dont think we needed a break but those 2 things are nothing compared to all the positives from the show.

Well done again to all involved,3Ds,fighters,gyms,officials and the crowd for showing our sport at its best:)

Phil Moxon - Honestly no offence intended and obviously Paul K was the hometown favourite, but DOC clearly won that fight by a long way.He consistantly out scored in the first four rounds easily with left and right body kicks. He possibly lost the 5th round but had done more than enough to comfortably win the fight.Agree with Paul Pearson I think best venue Iv attended for uk muay thai, great place that.

Just to echo what Morris has already said, a massive amount of work went into making this event happen, not only from the 3Ds and myself but all the behind the scenes crew without whom it would never have been possible. The pitbulls did an immense job backstage while putting up with me stressing at times, the av crew who spend days rigging the place out, staff at p4tv, all the officials and commentators, the list is endless. A massive thank you to everyone who helped out. Roll on November!

Thanks 3D+P, show was everything a fighter and coach is looking for, well run, on time, no dicking about between fights, paid immediately, no bull at weigh-ins, great venue, and great matchmaking. I need to thank my corner guys -Mani and Brian (Senior) Totty, and my fighters. I knew they both had hard but winnable matches, and they stuck to their game plans for the win. I know a few people have commented on Totty's strong clinch, but I thought his counter left kicking was brilliant, particularly rd4,completely took away Bendon's boxing combos. Adrian went into the fight (his first k-1) with a desire to be exciting. Mission accomplished. 2/2 wins for the gym in England is a very big deal for us, and thank you to the promoters for the opportunity. And the border raiders - 20+ supporters who made the 8hour round trip. Cheers!

Daz, Darren and Dan I know worked hard to make Saturday's show a big success and their hard work paid off.

at the end of the day i wasnt being cocky making bets thrasher on here said a monkey ill bet it all confident, so i thought about it, added him on facebook at a long chat with him, i go ok 400 hundred ill bet he goes yes no problem mate, then i changed it to 500. I also told him i couldnt make it to the vent event and explained this in bold and his reply was "Hey mate - no worries - shame you can't make it to the fights, but no worries we'll sort it out after the fight, I'll pay up no problem if it doesn't go my way - thanks for letting me know D, speak soon mate" copied and pasted straight from the conversation, then his excuse reply was "Like I said all bets were off as soon as all the shit at weigh kicked off- but like I also said I'll still have the bet if there's a rematch- and I'll give the money beforehand" I was prepared to go to the bank and transfer this money as im a betting man and i dont mug no one off, as its pride and guilt that would make me pay as i dont wanna be seen as a man that can make promises or bets he cant keep as soon as they lose, its bollox the weigh was nothing to do with me all i know is a bet is a bet dont matter epsecially when the person at the time was confident. I said TNT would win anyway shape or form, i dont think there will be a rematch as hes koed you twice, and this fight was the 1 that counts as both fighters had improved massively, people on here telling me thrasher too strong bangs just as hard, ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz BORING, if it every happened again same result.

just had a look at Kulebin's career on wiki, very impressive resume.
For Harrison to move up in weight and take him out like he did is just insane, how many guys at the top level get stopped with low kicks?!

the guy is wrecking machine when he's stood in the middle of the ring and in the mood to dish it out like that, love it

Barnhill was exposed a rematch is dangerous. So was Paul Kapowicz why has his opponent had to come on here to explain how he won. Its so simple he did the same as when he lost against Steve Meleady then had a panic half way through the final round and started trying to claim some points, too late.

paul ward ! neither paul or rick were exposed, they both fought their fight, and on the night it wasn't their fight ! i think to say they have been "exposed" is very disrespectful
Paul Ward

Not really as the fights highlighted their flaws dont you think?
Ricks chin and Paul not being able to block or to knee.
No disrespect intended sorry paul and rick :-S

Paul is allowed to say what he saw so it's not disrespectful really they fought how they fought that night if they have rematches then it's upto them it's a harsh game it takes no prisoners : )

Rick highlighted that he didn't have great head movement or lateral movement to avoid punches. His chin/ fitness was incredible, he got hit a LOT and still stayed up, the issue was that he eas unable to change his gameplan and readjust - haven't seen much of him previously, but I agree that it might not have been his night!!

Fantastic night, ran like clockwork and the fights were really well matched. Harrison' performance was emmense, thought he would win but never expected him to make andre look ordinary. Also really liked Soloman from franks gym....really nice style and composed.

Also have de say that I thought the griphouse guys were really impressive. Totty' clinch was strong and scored hurtful knee' throughout. Adrian' spin kick was a treat.

Looking forward to seeing it all again on P4TV ; )

Congrat to all involoved

people should write what they want as it is a forum and let the fighters prove them selves in the ring.
Internet and reality are very different.
Interenet causes lies and curruption but reality tells the truth.
I have I want my Grandmother to live in the uk. I write it on the net but in reality it cant happen

Yes I agree people can say what they like ! I guess I feel for both guys are they are both good friends and have had the privalge of cornering Paul and work closely with rick !!

Just think the term exposed is not the correct for either fighter

Brilliant event. Everything went fine. Only one issue for me was the sound at that the back of the stadium on the bleachers behind the sound control wasn’t as good as up near the ring and ring entrance. But thats not an issue just I love the show side of things and would of been nice to be more surrounded by the music. but I didnt go there to listen to music just enjoy hearing fighters personal taste of intro music etc. adds to the whole experience.

The fights were brilliant. The first half showed some real good talent unlucky for Solomon he was very close.

Mike Clarke is an absolute beast and gonna take a big effort to beat him

Mark Skeer beat a tough raw talent in remi. Think it shows how much he has improved putting that fight to bed. Was an easy night for daitan for once.

The second half was brilliant standout fight was paul k and Daz Oconnor. I agree its unfair to say paul K got found out.
I think the reason why a lot of the crowd who knew nothing about scoring thought he won is cause he did look like he was in control but for people in the know he wasnt scoring enough.

Dont think daz would deny paul is the more talented fighter but talent alone doesnt win fights. Dont know the ins and out of pauls gym but it looks like he really needs a dedicated trainer.
Its like the corner team didnt read what was going on and to agree with the guy above paul came out blazing again in round 5.

Well done to darren sticking to his gameplan

Well done to liam harrison not easy to make kulebin look average.

Brilliant Show Well Done 3d team

100% agree paul needs a more experanced corner team who can read the scoring/fight and tell him what needs to be changed as they didnt look very vocal too me on the table i was on
great fight tho from both lads

only saw bits of round 5, look forward to watching whole fight regardless. DOC has come on loads in such a short period of time with real understanding of the sport that shows in his kids he trains.

Everyone who knows Paul has been saying the same thing, with a trainer who understands how to score he will be devastating!

The very fact his corner team still believe he won the fight against Meleady shows that they will always be struggling.

Bearing in mind I have known Paul probably longer than most people out there I know what an amazing athlete he is, but he will not fulfil that potential until he makes some changes to his training
